    Cuban wrap
    Monica K.

When you go to The Brookside, you know you're in for friendly service and delicious food in a casual setting. We visited for lunch on the weekend and ordered a BLT and a cuban wrap. The BLT was perfectly toasted and filled with bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The cuban wrap was loaded with tender, juicy pork, ham and pickles. Their wraps are the best; they are always loaded up! I was able to get two meals out of it. These two items typically come with chips and a pickle and you can upgrade to fries for a small fee.

We came on a Friday at 4:30 and were seated at once. I ordered the pot roast bowl, which is mashed potatoes, corn, pot roast and gravy, served with a roll and butter. The portion was ample and just as I had pictured it, delicious and filling. I would point out that the roll, while very fresh, was quite small. Our server was prompt and cheerful. I would stop here again in the future.

    Breaded Fish Fry

Visited for the first time with friends a week ago Friday. As it was Friday I decided to have the fish fry...I chose the breaded with mashed potatoes for a side. The fish was delicious ...very very good and the portion of mashed potatoes was also good. I was disappointed in the small container of coleslaw slaw and the size of the very small roll. Definite opportunity for improvement in this area...even good Italian bread would be a great improvement and a larger helping of cole slaw would increase my plans to return.

    Brookside sandwich

Came in for lunch and had the fried pickles and a Brookside sandwich. The pickles were great both with or without dipping them in the sauce. The breading was crispy and not too thick. They were cut lengthwise like fries. The sandwich was amazing. Tons of fillings. I took half home and it was good as leftovers too. It's a sandwich I'll tell people about and will want to come back for.

    Poutine

We came for a late lunch and I ordered the poutine. Although it's listed as a starter, it's a huge serving. I had half for my meal and the other half for a meal later that night. Every bit of it was fantastic- the yancy fancy cheese curds, the fries and the beef gravy. Service was friendly and quick.

This is a comfort food place. The hot roast beef sandwich was very bland and unseasoned but the portion was nice for the price point. The poutine with pot roast was like warm, cheese wasn't melted and also unseasoned. The chicken bites were hard and not as good as Applebee's. They also were not properly sauced. But on the plus side the celery and carrots were spot on! They ran out of orange juice so I couldn't have my desired drink. Ordered a frozen strawberry margarita instead and it was the worst bad, too much Tequila for the ratio and it was more liquidy than frozen. Overall the service was good and the atmosphere was friendly and casual

Wrap with a lot of meat in it.

The restaurant was very nice and clean with very nice decor. It was completely empty which is surprising for 1pm on a Saturday, but a few tables showed up while we were eating. Service was good, and food was fast. I got the roast beef, and the gravy was a little thick and salty, but still good. My husband got a wrap that had a lot of meat in it. My only concern of the restaurant and the reason I gave it four stars is the place is under construction and it smelled overwhelmingly like fresh paint. Really strong fresh paint. They needed to air out the place, I got used to it after 15 min, but it was really unappetizing at first.

Could have sworn I reviewed the Brookside way back when. I think the venue had recently gone under new ownership just when the pandemic started in 2020, and they rose to the challenge of reimagining their venue. We ordered takeout often. My favorite is their poutine. My husband and son like their wings. Another son enjoys their chicken tenders. We've since dined in a couple of times. The food is fantastic. They offer a good mix of comfort food and more creative offerings, as well as seasonal specials. I love getting a side of their wasabi ranch with the fish fry. They have a small bar and a good selection of wines, including a couple local wines. The restaurant is small but cozy. Service is great.

My son devoured the entirety of his fish and chips, and it was a huge fillet. I had golden beer battered shrimp. The shrimp was plump and perfectly cooked. The batter is light and tasty. No honey mustard if that's what you like for your salad (fries for me). My son and husband really liked the Carolina gold sauce the kitchen recommended as an alternative. It's good and has a similar tang, just not for me. The ranch was solid. They have a limited beer and wine selection. We didn't notice they had a bar for mixed drinks until after the fact. The menu says they will offer local wines soon, which I like to see (and prefer to order) at local establishments. Service was excellent. The restaurant is bright and open with a subtle blue nautical theme. Comfortable booths. We'll be back.

It is a casual place and children are welcomed and it is handicapped accessible. Lovely little entry way, too.

I was surprised to see I haven't written a review but I always have a good experience here! For my mom's birthday, she wanted to grab a beer flight and dinner at Live Edge Brewing. We arrived on a Saturday around 4:45pm and took a parking spot close to the entrance. They have a good-size parking lot so no concerns about finding a space. We walked in and saw the "wait to be seated" sign and soon afterward, a young woman came over and asked how many in our party and where we'd like to sit. The three of us decided to sit on their back patio. We picked a table and our waitress soon followed with drink/food menus. All of the tables outside had umbrellas to help shield from the sun, which on this Saturday was out but the temperature was perfect and there was a slight breeze to cool it down a little. The one oddity we had was that our drink menus didn't match as my menu had more taps listed compared to the others I was sitting with, so I ended up getting a drink in my flight they never saw. I slight hiccup but honestly, you can't be too upset with a drink in your hand! Our waitress was young and incredibly personable, friendly, accommodating, answering all our questions about the food and customizing our orders how we wanted them. We might have let it slip that it was my mom's birthday - Our waitress brought her a birthday cake shot to celebrate, which she loved! Our waitress let us take our time sampling our beer flights before placing our food orders. The wait time for our food was very reasonable, maybe 10-15 minutes, I can't remember as we were having too good a time chatting and sipping. For dinner, I ordered their Nashville Hot Chicken Sammy, which is a hand-breaded toaster-oven-baked chicken breast topped with provolone cheese, pickles, and their Nashville hot sauce between a brioche bun and served with a side of tater tots (a small upcharge from their default chips). The sandwich was delicious! Now, for you spice lovers, I didn't find this sandwich very spicy, it was more about the flavor, the tang of the sauce. I didn't mind it not being that spicy, the flavor was excellent! The pickles were thick and had a nice crisp to them and the provolone cheese paired so well with it all. The tater tots were fried perfectly with a crispier exterior but hot, pillowy-soft interior - For the small upcharge, ~$3.00, they were worth it. The portion sizes were perfect as I was perfectly full, I wasn't uncomfortable. The price of my meal was reasonable as well, especially seeing how everything's costing more in 2026. Live Edge Brewing is not only a family favorite but for me, it's a hidden gem. The friendly, laid back, yet still attentive service and country atmosphere have us continuing to come back each New Year's Eve, and now, this could become a new birthday tradition!

The service was really good, and staff was solicitous and friendly, despite it being quite busy. The food was delicious. The memu was typical fare, but with added flair. Side sauces for apps and sandwiches. I got a huge chicken sandwich with bacon and provolone cheese, and a beer and the price was very reasonable. To top it off, they had live music, a singer, guitarist, Kevin White, who was really enjoyable, and took requests! I would recommend this place highly.

The restaurant interior has a very distinctive vibe, occupying a comfortable space between casual and upscale. They still had lights and a lovely Christmas tree up. Our server Desiree was excellent. The food ranged from good to great. My husband's ribeye was cooked medium rare as requested but the seasoning was bland. My fried seafood platter was excellent. The batter was light, crispy and golden, and nothing was overcooked or rubbery. I just wish they had a half portion because it's too much food for one person. The children's menu has a large variety of options. The chocolate cake for dessert was amazing and artfully presented. They do have some local wines, all from Schultz.
