Peace and love, everyone!!…read more It's been a long minute since I left a review, so I'm happy to talk about a new food place! My wife and I finally ordered from Paisans Pizza in Oak Lawn, something we've been wanting to do for a long minute. As I have been working out and watching how much I eat since December, I very much look forward to having a 'big back day', as my daughter says! So the online ordering process was very easy. I ordered a medium cheese pizza, a medium sausage pizza, the Southwestern egg rolls, and finally some garlic parmesan wings. When I went to pick up the food, it took a few minutes to find a parking space as there are no spaces for pick-up orders. But when I went in there, nice ambiance with the planes, the cars, and the camper, which is where I had to pick up my order from. The place was jumping (I was there about 6pm on Saturday), and it seemed like a nice overall vibe. Ok so I pick up my order and get back to the crib! First, the pizza: both pizzas were really good. Nice amount of cheese, nice amount of sausage, for both, nice amount of sauce. Now the pizza was good, let me be clear, but on the box it says the 'best pizza in the world'. So my honest opinion is that is it better than all the other pizza places in the area (Domino's, Nonna's, etc)? YES...easily! Is Paisans better than Beggars Pizza? I say yes, my wife says no. Either way, we both agree that they have some good pizza! The garlic parmesan wings lived up to the hype. Crispy wings, nice amount of seasoning, not overpowering. As for the Southwestern egg rolls, this was the only thing I ordered where I was like 'meh'. The shell wasn't really crispy, I think it was a bit bland, and the sauce cup had opened up and spilled in its takeout box. Put it this way...Chili's Southwestern egg rolls are much better, by comparison, in terms of flavor. All in all, this was not a bad eating experience. The food was good all around, and for me, only the egg rolls could have been better. Also, the food was a little on the expensive side....so that is something to keep in mind also. So, does this mean we'll be back? Absolutely! We both love the pizza, and in fact, it's so good that we've hardly ever tried anything else. When we did stray off the pizza selection, the food has all been delicious. Contrary to popular belief, "Chicago Style" pan pizza isn't typically eaten every day by folks that live here. Everyone would be 1,000 pounds. The wife and I go to Louisa's probably 6-10 times a year because it's incredibly filling, but it NEVER disappoints. The service is always fantastic. I'm 99% sure the same family has owned it (Louisa's family - God rest her soul), so the whole "family vibe" is on full tilt at this place and it shows in their service. Servers who care about your business because the business itself is more than just a part time job. The restaurant is quaint, and is perfectly suited for either a date night or a full-on family function. Their side room is plant big enough to host a private party or event, and I know they often book that room for exactly that. But the real focus for us is the pizza. The pans that are used over and over again. The buttery crust that is always crispy and not too think. The ripe tomatoes that are always seasoned perfectly... the real of the show at Louisa's is their sausage. It's literally like none other we've ever had and we love it!! This place is a must try for locals that love pan pizza!

I skimmed through the reviews as we all tend to do now, and figured I'd give it a shot. Let me say, it did not disappoint. I ordered a sausage and pepperoni pan pizza and XL half cheese half pepperoni. The pizzas were great. The sauce is very tasty, as the reviews stated. It's a sweet sauce so be prepared. The crust had a good crunch with a hint of char that gave it a brick oven feel even though it wasn't. Both pizzas also came with a 1 liter soda of your choice. The real star of this place was the service. You know the place is special when you're the only one they ask 'What's the name?'. Everyone coming in, I hear being addressed on a first name basis. I hear them telling long time customers, 'I see you changed it up today'. That was so awesome to see. So many places don't take that time. I got to meet Natalie and Frank. They run the place. Oh! And one of their sons. They were awesome. Took my order and while I was waiting kept conversation with me about any and everything. Was such an easy vibe, felt like they were long time friends which was nice. Didn't have to go wait in the car or sit there in silence, they made you feel included. They mentioned the BYOB patio they open right next door in the summer. Which I've seen before and plan to enjoy with the family. Overall, I enjoyed this place. The pizza was good, the people and service amazing. Not much more you can ask of a pizza spot. I will be back and if you're ever in the area give it a shot. Might just be one of those places that has you saying 'Ooh, we have to get TaTa's while we're out here."
