I was in Macon for the weekend and I heard some good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. I was craving pepperoni pizza and thought it would be a good place to grab a slice or two for lunch. The restaurant is pretty large and I was seated immediately when I walked in. The service I had wasn't the best. It took a while for a server to come to my table. My server only came back once to deliver my food. I was not impressed with the pizza. The slices were a lot bigger than I anticipated an not how the server explained them, so I suggest just ordering a slice. My pizza was drenched in grease and didn't really have a good taste to it. The crust was pretty thin and one of my slices was burnt. They were pretty skimpy with toppings. I had about 5-6 pepperonis on each slice. I am glad I gave this place a visit, but I don't know if it's place I will return to the next time I am in Macon. read more

I gave this place a 3 only because of the modern decor and feel. The service was okay. We order the pizza sticks (spinach/mozzarella). The appearance was great and taste was okay. The pizza sticks are plenty for three to four people to share. We also tried the mushrooms with the spinach & feta. They were bland, no feta, covered with mozzarella. Something I could've done at home. I really love mushrooms so I really tried to like them. After those appetizers we decided not order any pizza. Ate here tonight with my family. The appetizers were pricey to me so we decided not to get the cheese bread or fried pickles. Settled on a large pepperoni pizza and we shared the Greek salad. There was nothing special about the salad and was far from being a Greek one. The pizza dough was chewy and the sauce tasted like the opened a jar of prego in the kitchen. Tgere was also hardly any pepperoni and it could have been cooked longer. Definitely won't be going back. read more

It's cute. We waited seemingly forever for it to open. We were excited to try it. God. It is HORRIBLE!!! The service was bad. My child's meal was out of a freezer bag as was our appetizer. It was good. I got the brown sugar hot wings on recommendation from the bartender; they were crispy and not drenched in sauce which was nice. I don't typically steer away from hot or garlic parm, so this was definitely a nice change of pace. This place was very convenient to my hotel and had exactly what I was looking for. Upon walking in, I loved the look of the restaurant, it was sleek, clean and rustic. I sat at the bar area, there was plenty of open seating. There were also outlets at the bar (smart move). I was looking for a quick meal to go, so I went for the ultimate stuffed sticks after these were recommended to me by the bartender. While I waited they offered me a drink on the house, unfortunately I cannot take part in the spirits--however, they do have Harpoon (a personal favorite of mine). The wait was only about 15 minutes, during this time I watched several TV programs on the various TVs in the bar area. I arrived back to my hotel and was shocked the the size of the stuffed sticks--holy cow--you cannot finish these by yourself. I think there were 6 sticks and I only ate maybe 2 for my entire meal. We went with our grandson and our waitress was great! Brought his food early and even asked if he can have a ballon. We ordered wings and they were perfect. We are picky and asked for them to be extra crispy and they were. But the pizza was under cooked. Next time will ask to cooked well done. Hope they get more craft beers in the future. So here's the deal - I haven't had the opportunity to eat here but I have tried ordering a drink over the phone. Customer service has always been one of the determining factors in whether I believe the business should receive a 5-1 star review. My brother and sister in law ate here and told me the food was delicious and I do trust their opinions - you should too. I tried ordering a drink for both of them via telephone because it was their anniversary not too long ago. We came with a group of 10 people (all servers and bartenders at one time) we eat a table in the bar the first bartender was bad but better then the later crew. I actually bused our table 3 times, got bev naps for our table and took drink orders. The first server closed pur tabs because he was leaving we sat for 25 minutes with no service from the 2 new bartenders. I requested to see a manager and that never happened. Well tried the brick for the first time tonight. Nice place . The service was good initially but as place started to get busy service slow down. The fried pickles are good as well as Greek salad. The pizza on the other hand is not good . The first piece was doughy so we sent it back . The next piece was more done but still not a good tasting slice of pizza. Hey try putting the toppings on top of cheese so your dough becomes more crisp. I would find a better pizza dough to use. read more

My wife and I used to eat at the Brick in Milledgeville frequently when we lived there. It was great to visit this new (to us) location. All our favorites were there, pizza, spinach stuffed sticks, side salads and I thoroughly enjoyed the special wings of the day, Teriyaki/Sesame. We've been to the Brick several times, the Philly Steak sandwich and the Buffalo Brick Chick was outstanding, we've had this several times. The atmosphere is great, sometimes Karaoke or a live band but will warn you this place is extremely loud sometime to point you can't hear the one your with speaking but overall a great place to eat. I frequent The Brick at least once a week and typically have no issues but tonight's occurrence was so disgusting that it warrants a review because PHYSICAL SAFETY SHOULD NEVER BE AN ISSUE at a restaurant. I was sitting at the bar with two friends and we were continually asked to be "touched" by this group of drunk guys (which is creepy in itself). I raised my voice and loudly let two of the guys know we did not want to be touched and leave us alone. It drew the attention of the whole bar, yet did not the bartender nor any staff address the situation. Beyond that but the group was continued to be served shots when they were very obviously intoxicated and rowdy (attempting to do handstands on the floor and standing in chairs). Thirty minutes later one of the same guys that I asked to stop touching me comes up and grabs me by the shoulders and gets in my face. My instant reaction was to slap him because I felt violated and unsafe. I immediately walked over and asked to speak to a manager because the situation should never have gotten that far if the bar tender/any staff would have handled the rowdy drunk boys harassing us. The fact that multiple other people at the bar came to check on us after the first time I asked them to leave us alone, points to the negligence of the bartender who obviously chose to ignore the situation. The incompetence of the staff is no excuse for a patron to be harassed. All of this could have been avoided if the staff would have asked them to leave the first time or maybe have been mitigated by not over-serving (even though drunkenness is no excuse to harass anyone). I do feel like it would be unfair to say that the management didn't do anything, because after the fact I did get a $2.64 discount on my bill. I felt unsafe violated and as if the staff could care less about the atmosphere of their "family restaurant". Ordered a patty melt, after my waitress found her way back to my table. She got lost easily. The patty melt tasted good but it was basically just a hamburger patty stuck between bread. A patty melt is thinner pattys and fits the the bread. This was just a lump of meat between the bread. French Fries were almost ice cold. Well, let's start out with a little about me: I love standardization. I live for standardization and the concomitant benefits of resultant process optimization. I've built a career on those concepts. I cannot over-emphasize how much I love standardization in production, data generation, and process function. I love it. Yet... This place is so standard that it induces headaches. The faux sheet metal panelling. The "exposed brick" feel. The faux hippie bartender with a ridiculous little man bun. The truly predictable beer selection--designed to be unique... but it reads just like everyone else's list. The dominance of the bar in the layout and presentation. It's just... It's blah. It's the beige of Macon pizza joints. It's as if they paid a marketing firm perfectly good money to tell them how to stretch every millenial hipster cliche... AND THEY WENT FOR IT! Right down to the bad pizza. Now, why is it that no one under 40 down here seems to make a decent pie? Is something wrong with my generation? Oh, yeah, that's right, I forgot... Ironically, the part of their offering that should be most and best standardized is actually the most uneven. Parts of the the pizza I ate were very much over-kneaded and other parts felt slightly undermixed... Unfortunately, the Goldilocks of pizza dough was not available: it was either too chewy or too chokey. But the service was, at least consistent--consistently bad. I mean, there were flashes of brilliance on occasion--such as when I finally received a refill I twice requested and the salad dressing was right on the second try--but overall, our waitress perfectly acted the role of an apathetic waitress who is intent on providing the minimum required effort to achieve mediocrity. And I bet she would have blamed me for a 10% tip... so I left the standard 20%. My final statement? Following the same slavishly formulaic approach that brought us Nickelback and One Direction, this place will be big for a time but it will have no long term staying power. read more

Customer service on the other hand is another story our waitress was very inattentive, she was concerned with who she thought was going to be a better tipper but another person came to our rescue and made our visit enjoyable. The menu items were of a typical bar food joint, nothing unique or creative here on food. Heard their calzones were good so that's what I ordered. My husband ordered the jerk chicken pasta (nothing special). After waiting 30 mins for our food, my disappointment continued. My husband and I went here on a date when we stayed at the 1846 inn right down the road. We loved it and then made a point to go back a couple of other times when we were passing through Macon. The last two times weren't as good as the first, but it was still pretty good. The buffalo chicken dip is yummy. The pizza was good, but not amazing (maybe it was the one we ordered). Went for lunch on a Friday. The place was hopping and seemed to be missing a server. The few servers were quite busy, but seemed to be overwhelmed. We both ordered the jerk chicken club with a basket of sweet potato fries. I typically don't choose sweet potato fries, but these are always crispy and the dipping sauce is yummy, which makes them a must for me! The sandwich was seasoned well and was delicious.
