Just on a random night my wife and I decided to drop in to somewhere we hadn't been in a while. We dropped in to Miramar and Darien made sure it was a good time. We only went for a small bite and ended up trying almost everything he recommended. If we had 2 more stomaches probably would've tried it all. Darien took our order made more suggestions and elevated our entire meal for the night. Shrimp was wonderful great combination or sauce and Lobster Mac was great, Lamb chops in the maple Mustard and all the oysters all well above our expectations. What a beautiful and place with really cool and fancy vibes! Cool mood lighting with candlelight. Delicious cocktails! I had a seasonal cocktail with fig puree and bourbon and it was very nice! For small plates we had the Roasted Brussel Sprouts (crunchy and well-seasoned) and Crab & Spinach Dip with Pita Points (nice big chunks of crab and even the Pita Points were great!). For the meal we had the Burger Week burger (a limited edition) and the Lobster and Crab Cavatappi, which was amazing! Everything came out hot and fresh and was delicious. The service was excellent as well. The hostess greeted us with a smile, the server was charming, pleasant, and attentive, and even the expo had warm and positive energy. Everything about this restaurant was a pleasant experience! Would be great for a fancy celebratory dinner or romantic date night. It would even be fun for cocktails and small plates. Second time here. It was amazing the first time. This trip has me not wanting to return. They did away with the lobster Mac and cheese in favor of a crab and lobster pasta. The crab was awful. It was fishy and I had at least 7 tiny pieces of shell in my dish. Service was friendly but the food took forever to come out. Arrived at 7:30, left at 9:30. We decided to try this place out to celebrate my birthday & had an amazing time. It's a small restaurant but not cramped. Loved the lighting & music. We were dressed up but not all guests were ( I like that, it wasn't too stuffy if you know what I mean). The drinks and food were amazing! We wanted to try a little bit of everything. For starters, our server Kayla was an absolute delight. She greeted us at the door and showed us to our table. She said that her name was Kayla and that she would take care of us tonight and she truly did that throughout our meal. We ordered Chilled Seafood Tower and the Calamari. It seemed reasonable at the time but it was an enormous amount for two. The oysters, ahi tuna, shrimp, mussels were very fresh. The fried calamari was so delicate and delicious. This place was AMAZING! My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. The place had a good atmosphere. The oysters were fresh and I like that they had a few to select from. Rockefeller oysters were really good as well. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts for a starter. We got the ahi tuna which was really good. The least favorite was the pork belly, I'm a big fan of pork belly but I feel like when you eat pork belly deep friend you need some kind of starch with it. Miramar is another one of those places - Macon has way too many - that look great, have an enticing menu, but the execution is lacking. Here's what they get right: the ambiance is great. It's busy, it's a nice chic, but accessible decor, dark and chill, a mostly younger and diverse crowd, definitely inviting and good for a date night. The wine and beer lists are adequate and appropriately priced. The food portions are good, and it's good value - you're not getting gouged just because it's a more upscale vibe. I appreciate that the take out containers are paper-based and not plastic or polystyrene. Their ingredients are fresh and there are plenty of vegetables on the menu. Vegetarians will find enough choices and pescatarians will be able to order from most of the menu. The service is also good, with a bevy of young wait staff to take care of you and your order. Here's what they can do better: the cocktails I've had were not great, so I stick to beer and wine now. Particularly disappointing was the Miramar Michelada which they thankfully removed from the menu. If you like sweeter cocktails there may be something for you, but I didn't find anything tempting. The food. There is only one thing I've had that was worth ordering again and even that I'd modify - the watermelon radish salad. It's beautiful and fresh and large, but not interesting enough to eat such a mass quantity. I would ask if I could get it with some grilled protein, probably fish. Then it would be a great meal. The deep fried roll was overcooked, so instead of having raw fish inside throughout, parts of it were completely cooked. The sauce does not work with it and makes it overly rich, when it really needs something to cut the heaviness of the batter. And the sauce was nothing that required much thought - it was just mayo mixed with some Sriracha or something. The same sauce comes with the roasted Brussels sprouts. They look beautiful, but are under-seasoned and rely on the sauce for any flavor. Again, little thought put into it. The flatbread is more like a cracker - really flat and hard. The dough should have some rise to it (after all, pizza is flatbread, too), but it's almost like they took some flour and water, shaped it into a long oval, threw some toppings on it, and called it a day. I had the Caprese flatbread. The pesto was nice, the cheese was good, but the tomatoes were unripe and the presentation was lacking. It was drizzled with some balsamic vinegar or glaze which overpowered the flavors and just didn't work with it. I understand that tomatoes are not in season, but if you can't source ripe tomatoes, don't offer this in the winter months. It could easily be replaced by something more seasonal. I also did not appreciate that they are serving non-sustainable seafood. No Atlantic salmon is MSC certified and I would never buy it and neither should Miramar. To sum it all up, I will go back to Miramar because it's in my neighborhood, I like the vibe, they have lots of pescatarian choices, and the prices are reasonable for a nice restaurant. I can't recommend it, though. If my opinion changes in the future, I'll be sure to update my post! read more

This place is a great spot for tapas. I was on a business trip and decided to give it a try. My co-worker and I had the east coast and gulf coast oysters and they were fresh and well presented. My brother found this restaurant that, it was a very cool place, social distancing in place. The service was great, we ordered our food and it came out hot and on time. Went on Valentine's Day the food was decent wasn't earth shattering. Husband got the New York strip it was on the tough side and had so much fat it was kind of silly. Now if the fat was seared it would be ok but it was all floppy and unappetizing he said the taste alright. The Brussel sprout had way too much salt on them. Now the lobster mac n cheese was nice it was cheesy and had a good amount of lobster in it. The buckshot shrimp was really good I would recommend that to anyone who enjoys shrimp (it does have a tiny kick to it). The service was kind of disappointing it wasn't busy and some how I did felt neglected. Now I might sound spoiled but when I go to a restaurant I do not like to box my own food up. I was just traveling through & decided to try this place, especially because they have tapas & I didn't want a full-on meal. It was Friday night, but I made a rez to be sure I didn't have to wait. The place was packed. The hostess wasn't welcoming or friendly, but I was seated promptly. The server was really nice & got me going right away with a martini. I ordered 6 of the east coast oysters. They were small & so yummy and came super fast. I decided on the Caesar salad as a follow up. Unfortunately, their idea of a Caesar is you put two hearts of Romaine in a bowl, drown it in dressing, sprinkle on cheese & sautéed shallots. I scraped as much of the bottled dressing off as possible, but this was a real disappointment. The chef needs to rework this recipe! This is primarily a seafood place & nothing goes better with seafood than a Caesar with anchovies. If I get back to Macon, I'll def be back! read more

We ate at Miramar to celebrate a birthday. We love raw oysters and these were perfectly shucked and quite tasty! They were really perfect and were served with all the trimmings! We had 30 and could have eaten more! The fried pita chips and feta cheese were great. You could also get the pita chips baked. The caprese salad complimented it all. For desert, we had tiramisu. It was really good! We can't wait to go back and enjoy another great meal at this Macon gem! read more

We have been to Miramar several times, but last night it just didn't go well. The food was just OK. The first of cocktails I had was really lackluster. The server was adequate. The bartender had very little customer service skills. But here's the two things that really threw me off last night: it was HOT and muggy in the restaurant. And the floors were all sticky, especially in the bathroom. I just don't like spending $165 plus tip to be uncomfortably hot my entire meal. Management needs to ensure the floors are cleaned with the right cleaning solutions. And their climate control needs help. It may be necessary to add another unit to combat the Macon heat. At any rate, we won't be back. read more
