    Caprese salad- amazing
    Ann W.

Our visit started off a bit rocky. Lots of people asking if we'd been helped and no one helping. Someone left a plastic cup on the hostess stand with a weird beverage looked odd. Finally, the "owner" rushed up to seat us. Pleasant fellow, good personality and pleasant to talk to. Apologized and we moved on. The restaurant is almost cut in half with seating on both sides of door. Plenty of metered parking (free after 8pm). Luckily, we were sat in a cozy booth near the windows but we did have a reservation. The other side was more tables and less date worthy. Bathrooms need a bit of a touch up. We ordered the crab cake and caprese to start. Average crab cake too much filler, this is a pass. The caprese however was amazing. Healthy tomato's and a fresh burrata topped with balsamic. Very good, a definite reorder. For mains, I had the fried red snapper with Parmesan risotto this comes with tostones and a dipping sauce. Large fish, nicely seasoned yet a bit over cooked to the point of being dry. Hubby had the full pork loin chop with a side of mashed potatoes. This came with a fresh chimichura sauce and tostones as well. We were celebrating a birthday (on the reservation) so we ordered the hot chocolate cake. Pretty standard. I really think these are now mass made and ordered through food delivery. It was good but can get in multiple restaurants these days. Good vanilla ice cream. Service, now this is where they easily lose a star. Half hearted, disappearing, not engaged with a touch of attitude. They weren't busy, it wasn't late. We were in great moods. Who knows. While we will visit again when in Macon, we cannot have her again.

Expected a lot more out of this place based on how nice it looked after it was closed. Disappointed from the beginning since the hostess sat me at a booth next to a damaged wall. I asked for a new booth. I was the only one there so she let me pick whichever one I wanted. I should have known with no one else there, that was possibly a sign? Not sure. I did hear one person in the bar area but no one else was seated in the dining area I was in. I ordered a salad, and for my entree, the shrimp and lobster fettuccine alfredo. I would have expected the salad to come out first but after waiting awhile, the salad and entree arrived together. I was disappointed by the entree since it did not seem to have been made recently. The sauce was congealed with lumpy cheese mixed in. The pasta all stuck together in a pile and not hot at all. Not sure if maybe that is just how their version is, but it certainly did not sit well while I was eating it, and I took most of it to go. I almost left it there, but I don't like wasting food. I instead filled up on and tried their cherry cobbler. That indeed was hot out of the oven. Service was interesting. Haven't heard so many "yes ma'am's" in such a short timeframe. So he was very polite, but I felt somewhat badly about asking any question. Again, something I am just not used to. Looked around and enjoyed the decor, but also saw leftover food under the table next to me that was fully set and ready for customers. I also noticed the entryway rug on my way was full of dirt/debris. I sure hope the kitchen is kept cleaner! To this day I wonder why others were not in the restaurant eating?

Brought a customer here for dinner. The service was on point from the second I walked in until I paid. We shared the pork belly and salmon dip - both were great. I got the scallops wrapped in prosciutto. They were delicate and cooked perfectly. All in all, the meal was great

We came back in December for a date night. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. We were greeted so nicely on our way in. We did not have a reservation but they somehow managed to work us in, that was a treat! The food was all so delicious. The timing of items coming to the table worked perfectly. We didn't wait too long for anything and the next dish arrived with just enough space between to be ready for the next item. The dessert was hard to choose because they all sounded lovely. We had oysters for appetizer and they were nice and large! Crab cakes were big and full of crab and so warm, so delicious. The brussel sprouts were so good I couldn't stop eating them! I decided on the chocolate lava cake for dessert and... I had to finish it because it was just that good. If you're looking for a nice dinner in Macon this is a definite place to go! We are going back next week!

3rd & Cherry was a bit of a bummer for me. The area it's in really isn't the best area but that doesn't define the restaurant. So the ambiance outside is very old looking it's not as appealing, walking into the restaurant is very different than how it looks on the outside. It's very quiet and rustic inside. Walking in we had to wait for someone to come and sit us down we waited for a few seconds. So right when you get the menu it isn't as surprising at the huge prices..it was a huge let down for the price, it took a while for the food to come out and when it did come out I personally didn't enjoy it. I got the salmon and the sides were very hard kind of crisp and with that the sauce wasn't really appealing and it didn't fill me up. It was also a bit cold and very salty. My mother got the lobster and shrimp pasta and before she had asked our waitress if it was "Al dente". The waitress looked like she had never heard of Al dente before and she had said "I'll ask"..so she went to go ASK THE CHEF TO MAKE IT AL DENTE. She had said that it's usually not Al dente but he'll make it Al dente this time but there are no promises it will be done next time around. So this was very shocking to us. It personally just wasn't the best experience.

The food was amazing. Let me say this I didn't expect the steak to be soooo big but it was and cooked perfectly. The steak was marvelous. I ordered take out because I stopped through. I had Fries(of course) lol, Brussel Sprouts, and the Ribeye, all cooked perfectly. It was definitely Chef's Kiss. I called placed the order, it wasn't any parking so the lady who took my order said she would meet me and bring it out such a sweet young lady. It was pretty busy, but my order was ready in the allotted time given. It was clean from my observation and I highly recommend 3rd & Cherry for all occasions.

We had a 6:30 reservation and were quickly seated. Overall dinner was very nice & our meal was amazing! Soft music playing through the speakers, nice setting. However service was a bit slow, we waited awhile for our cocktails & also the food. My potatoes also weren't hot when they came. Thats the only reason I gave 4 stars. Our waitress Savanna was very sweet & thanked us for being patient with her. I also tried the Crème Brulee because she said it was her recipe!! 10/10 !! I'd go back just for that!!

What is fabulous night to meet my new friends, the owner who is Eddie, Tiffany that helps out there and Mitch who is the patron. We had such an incredible night. It was a night that was closed but open for a birthday party. I ended up calling to see if we could still eat there and they invited us down. We love Eddie's personality, he is originally from Puerto Rico, he brought his knowledge spices for the of love for cooking. We had the scallops, perfect and a pork chop. We had a pork chop, pork belly attached to it, it was cooked perfect. The pork belly gave us crisp pork rinse. We never had anything like that before and it won't be our last time to eat it. I WOULD RECOMMEND

We came here for my husband's 40th HS reunion. There over 30 people that showed up so you would think that the service might have been strained. If it was, you would never know. Great service and the food was stellar. We ordered salmon dip and the spinach dip as appetizers and both were amazing as were the cocktails, but the stars of the show were the friend whole snapper and ultimate pork chop. Insanely good. I would highly recommended this place!

Had a family gathering here. Place was a nice size. Everyone was pleasant. Our waitress was very attentive. I forgot her name. SMH. (Young, black female) she was on point with everything. All of our drink and food orders were correct. Food was really good. Hot and tasty. Our drinks could've been better. Only con...our strawberry margaritas...Tasted like a strawberry lemonade with no alcohol. Exactly like that. We were able to pay separately for our food as it was a party of 10. Parking is street parking...it was something going on this day/night in particular but take it into consideration. I would recommend this restaurant if in the area.

The food is extremely flavorful. The red snapper was crisp and full of robust flavor. My caribbean style steak was extremely tender and delicious. We love coming here. We are never disappointed. Our server Julie is very lovely and pleasant. She checked on us often with a great since of humor. The ambiance is very nice with home style vibe to it. I love the decor

If you've ever heard the saying "don't judge a book by its cover," Downtown Grill is the restaurant…read moreversion of that. Tucked away in an unsuspecting corner of Downtown Macon, this fine dining English-style steakhouse established in 1997, offers an experience that unfolds slowly, from a puzzling entrance to a surprisingly polished dining room... and ultimately to some of the best food I've had in Middle Georgia. ARRIVAL + FIRST IMPRESSIONS Because Downtown Macon was buzzing on this particular Saturday night, my husband and I ended up parking a couple of blocks away and taking the alley the GPS insisted was our route. Let's just say the alley definitely had "first date horror movie" vibes--but the beautifully framed photos lining the walls helped cut the sketch factor a bit. Once inside, we were greeted by a friendly, outgoing staff... and immediately greeted by something else: the cigar smoke. Downtown Grill has a full bar with an impressive oak humidor and a selection of bourbons, wines, and scotches that could easily impress the most seasoned connoisseur. But that also means the bar area is smoky--very smoky. I actually questioned whether we'd wandered into the wrong place until the hostess whisked us to the back dining room, where the ambiance shifted entirely. The dining room is intimate, classic, and much more aligned with "fine dining." Cozy booths, dim lighting, soft background music, truly an escape. And once seated, I didn't smell the cigar smoke at all. Bonus points for the restrooms using cloth napkins for hand-drying, an eco-friendly and elegant touch. We had noted on our reservation that it was our anniversary, but there was no acknowledgment. Not a deal breaker, but definitely unexpected for a fine dining restaurant, especially one that's been around this long. Our server was polished, professional, and consistently attentive. No complaints there. I started with the Elderflower Refresher and my husband with an Old Fashioned, both solid. But the star of the cocktail lineup? The Lavender Margarita. An absolute hit and something I'd go back for alone. For an appetizer, we ordered the Lump Crab Cakes. As a Maryland native, my standards are sky-high. These weren't "lump" crab cakes, but for Middle Georgia they were acceptable. They were flavorful, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the aioli drizzled on top. Then came the French Onion Soup. I'd seen the rave reviews and they were absolutely justified, easily the best I've had in years. Rich, savory, cheesy perfection. We both opted for the special of the night, the Salmon. My husband's came with mashed potatoes and green beans. I chose broccoli and green beans. The verdict? 5 out of 5. The salmon was cooked with precision--flaky, flavorful, expertly seasoned. The veggies were fresh, vibrant, and seasoned beautifully. Truly, this was the best meal I've had in Middle Georgia, hands down. Downtown Grill may not be where I'd choose to celebrate a milestone (the lack of acknowledgment and smoky entrance made sure of that), but it is where I'll go when I want a reliably excellent, well-executed meal. The kitchen is clearly the star of the show, and they delivered an unforgettable dining experience. We'll absolutely be back, maybe not for the anniversary, but definitely for that food.

My first experience was fantastic, and this time was just as perfect. The entire staff is friendly and attentive, clearing plates and refilling water as they pass by--truly exemplary service! Jordan was fabulous, striking the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing me to enjoy my meal. I arrived an hour before closing, but that didn't affect the experience at all. The French onion soup was just as amazing as I remembered--flavorful, slightly sweet, and loaded with onions and cheese. This time, I decided to try the chicken marsala for my entrée. The chicken was grilled to perfection with a lovely char, and the sauce was delicious; my only regret is that I didn't ask for extra sauce. The mashed potatoes and green beans were also bursting with flavor. Overall, another five-star experience!
