The fries were the standout. Although they were heavy handed on the salt, the seasoning and crispiness were excellent. The pizza unfortunately was lacking in flavor. It has all my favorite ingredients: mushrooms, caramelized onions and spinach, yet it didn't quite come together. I wouldn't return, but would still suggest others give it a try. read more

We were so excited to try this place and were extremely disappointed. The calamari was extremely greasy and the charcuterie board was nothing more than Publix deli meat. My chicken seemed like it was boiled. Had no color or flavor whatsoever. I will say that the pizza was very good and so were the desserts although my affogato came with cold espresso it was still good. This place has a ton of potential so we will give it another shot and hopefully have a better experience next time read more

What a great dinner. We were seated right away and offered a drink. We also ordered some garlic knots. Drinks and garlic knots arrived. Both were great! We decided to order a pizza and found it DELICIOUS. It had lots of meat but wasn't greasy at all. What a nice change from other places! The black olives were the flavorful kind not the mushy stuff from a can. I don't care how full you are...you MUST get an order of cronuts. They are like a deep friend piece of deliciousness with Nutella on the inside. The real parmesan cheese brought to your table for the pizza was an unexpected bonus. We just ate at Romo's ! It was great! The atmosphere is fun and exciting and everything is very clean! The decor is so amazing....hard to believe it is in Macon, Ga! It is a really large space too. We had the best waitress who explained the specials and was quite attentive. We three shared 2 appetizers, the calamari with peppers that was outstanding and the cauliflower that was really good. Two of us shared the mushroom and roasted onion pizza that was delicious and one person got the chicken piccata special which he said was good and tasty. We did not have room for dessert! Overall, this is an excellent addition to the Macon food scene and I highly recommend it. They take reservations and I recommend making them. This is a busy and happening place. We loved it and can't wait to go back....so happy to have a place like this in Macon! read more

They had my complete attention at the fried calamari. The batter is thin and crispy and the calamari hot and chewy. One can eat them simply with fresh lemon or spice it up. The pasta dishes are flavorful - just like in a trattoria in Italy. My favorite main course has to be the mushroom pizza. Piled high with delicate fresh mushrooms this is definitely a gourmet take on pizza. Can't wait to go there again. read more

The only time I tried this place it was ok. But the hostess stand is a real jerky about making reservations. it is flippin pizza don't be a jerk. I've tried to eat here about two or three times and I've been turned away or shoved at the crowded bar. When does a Pizza Restaurant require a reservation. This was my first visit to Romo's; we will be back. I'm very old-school in my desire for pizza, and this pizza is old-school. None of the over-garlic'd crust, etc. We ordered the NYer pizza, and it didn't disappoint. The pepperoni was spicy, the sauce went well and the cheese was done well. It was a little overcooked for my personal taste (hence 4 stars vs. 5); I'll ask for lightly-done next time, and there will be a next time. read more

Experience based on a pick up order. Our family ordered a few pizzas and the nutella cronuts while we were out running errands one evening for a quick dinner. Order was ready on a weeknight in only about 25 minutes which was great. Service was friendly as well, in fact I've actually never had issues with unfriendly service at FOJ or during this visit, so I would take the reviews that mention rude service with a big old grain of salt. We got home and liked that they included heating instructions in case you like your pizza piping hot. I loved the margherita the best - simple and fresh tasting sauce. I love getting this thin Napoleon style kind of pizza when I'm in Atlanta, and am happy that Macon now has it too. Lastly, the cronuts were delicious. Dinner on a Friday evening, tried their pizza a few weeks ago and it was good so I was eager to try some of the other dishes that they offer, the wife thought the spaghetti was pretty good and the portion would easily feed two. We tried the calamari and the quality and preparation was good but the flavor was extremely unbalanced, overwhelming sour and the tomato based sauce was simply not good. We also ordered the mussels, I'm a big fan so I was very disappointed when they arrived, very small and not of good quality, four were empty and the remaining would not fill a fork, the flavor was not good so it really didn't matter that the bread was inedible since we had no desire to taste the sauce. We both ordered the sangria and it was not very good, I would recommend sticking with the pizza although I probably won't return due to only receiving 1/2 off the mussels that they should be embarrassed to serve. read more
