After moving from Manhattan to the Bronx I had to find a new waxing place and yelp gave amazing reviews so I had to check it out. Let me start off by saying Nush is honestly the BEST. The shop is clean, she is polite and makes you feel comfortable so the pain is tolerable. I booked my second appointment with Nush and was very sad to find out about their policy with rescheduling. I had an emergency with work and called same day to be rescheduled, the receptionist told me my only option was to make it within the 5 minute grace period or be considered a no show and get charged full amount. I honestly wish they had a policy of doing credit and being more understanding of people's situations. First timer here, i was nervous AF! Because last time i tried getting a wax i left after one pull lol!!! But NUSH was amazing! She literally has angel hands... it hurt a bit but her breathing techniques and the stress balls help. I did underarms & full brazi She made me feel extremely comfortable and talked throughout the whole session. And super fast literally 10 mins!!! This will be my new gurlllll!!! After a terrible waxing experience years ago I swore to never .. wax .. again. Fast forward to 2020, I have a different mindset and a sparkling, stubble free, kitty. However, that's not the best part (shockingly) from the moment I stepped foot at The Brazi Shop, I was impressed by the peacefulness and beauty the shop has. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted by the lovely Miss Nush, who has the best waxing method and R&B playlist. Let me tell you .. there was almost zero to little pain, I was in awe the entire time! My review is a little overdue but worth it. I found the Brazi Shop via Instagram. I typically receive Brazilian waxes at the European Wax Center however, I wanted to try a new local business. For me, I loved the social media presence the business had but most importantly, its minority and women owned. BINGO for me! I visited in mid-October and made an appointment easily via Vagaro. I believe Nush (the owner) has a specific time of the month in which she opens up appointments, but I did not have any issues booking about a week prior to my appointment. There is a $25 deposit required to secure your booking. The salon is located in the busy Fordham section. If you plan to drive, plan ahead to find parking. Luckily, I took a cab. Unfortunately, during my visit, I had been recovering from a broken ankle. I was walking partially with one crutch. If you are disabled or unable to walk up a flight of stairs, this is not for you. The salon is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. There was no indication of this when I booked, so it would've been nice to know. Luckily, I gave myself extra time to arrive, so I took my time walking up the stairs. When I arrived, there was a sign to wash my hands which I did. I was then allowed to enter and warmly greeted by the receptionist. The salon is a small but cute with modern decor. Lots of natural light coming into the room, which makes you feel very comfortable. Nush greeted me within minutes of my arrival and allowed me to start my service immediately. She was very kind and welcoming. Moreover, she was patient given my injury. I had booked a Deep Brazi Wax which I thought would include the bikini line and labia but unfortunately, I misread; it only included top and bikini line. Nush clarified nicely and for next time, I would go for the full brazi. The service overall was great. Nush takes her time, talks to you throughout the process, and details her actions. I don't know what wax she uses, but it was a hard wax and felt much more gentle than what I'm used to. The hair also grew back a lot slower and softer. After I was done, she gave me some after care tips and answered all of my questions. She also walked me out and offered to help me get down the stairs. Cost was only $2-3 more than I pay for that specific service at European Wax Center, which is no big deal. Nush provides a little more of a personalized experience with humble expertise, in my opinion. Overall, it was a good experience. I would return and I highly recommend to others. read more

I must admit all these 5 stars were a little fishy to me at first because who really enjoys getting waxed?? But I now see they werent lying! I was having really bad anxiety because of the pain i was about to endure due to previous bad experiences waxing but Nush was amazing! I went to Nush today . And I loved it . This was my second experience doing a full Brazilian and I can say that it was way better then my first . My first time was way too painful. This time with Nush my experience was way better. Nush is such a nice person she made me feel so comfortable. First thing I asked was this gonna be painful she said nope not at all . First she started with my underarm and during the process we had such a good conversation that when it got to the point for her to remove the hair she had these good breathing techniques. Nush is simply amazing. I got my underarms waxed and full Brazilian a few weeks ago and I am so pleased with the results. Her suite is located in the cellar of the nail salon (for anyone confused about the location). I found her on yelp and was impressed by the feedback and decided to give her a try. I'm so happy I did! Nush was so patient with me (I have a very low pain tolerance) and was very thorough. My previous waxes were done by European wax center, and I must say Nush exceeds EWC by far! Nush is very passionate and knowledgeable about her craft, and tailors her services to each client's needs. My wax was very clean and my bikini area was left silky smooth. Not a single hair was left. She gave me a few tips on how to maintain a smooth bikini area and gave me a loyalist card for money off after so many waxes. Also, she has a special for $49 full Brazilian waxes on Wednesday. Best Brazilian! You truly won't regret it! There is absolutely no reason why someone should get a Brazilian done with regular wax. I made that mistake previously and was in a lot of pain with regular wax. Immediately Nush is so welcoming and makes you feel very comfortable! She uses lavender hard wax which honestly is way way less painful then regular wax. I can rave on and on how amazing she is because she is!!! Wow! I highly recommend Brazis by Nush, it was so easy to book on her booking website and her text reminders are a big plus ! My first session was when I was pregnant and I didn't trust anyone but Nush to get the job done. She is very professional and provides excellent service with her techniques. So disappointed with my experience with the Brazi shop. Back in Feb 2020 I purchased a brazi package. I was supposed to book my first appointment in March but yea the pandemic shut us down. I love supporting small businesses and have worked with customers for my whole career. I know just how difficult people can be so I try to be understanding of any situation. I didn't know how long the shutdown would be so I never requested a refund. I figured it's a small business that is most likely struggling to adhere to restrictions. I thought I could trust that I would receive my services when things opened back up. I received an email that said if I had purchased a package that I should expect a call or email between June 1st and 15th to book an appointment. I DMed her on insta on the 15th since I hadn't gotten a call or email. She stated that I was called and emailed "to no avail" At the time I thought it was possible I could have missed the call and email and was disappointed that even though I had contacted her within the time frame she simply said appointments were closed and didn't offer further options. Later I checked my emails and phone logs and realized she had lied and never contacted me. I guessed she was busy and just had a lot on her plate so I could book once she opened up the appointments to everyone else. Since she began opening up bookings it has been volatile. The bookings would open up in the middle of the night 12 am, sometimes 2 weeks at a time other times 1 week etc. In her emails she stated that if a date is not available it's because she's booked or closed. After she opened up it was exceedingly difficult to get an appointment. Sometime in august I realized she had charged me but I didn't know why. She must have noticed and sent an email saying I was charged by accident and got a refund. I appreciated that she noticed but didn't realize it would be held against me. I continued to be patient with her being so busy. I understand with covid & the holidays are busy & know small businesses are going through it. She's a human being running a business where she doesn't have a dozen employees. Finally January 3rd when I realized that I wasn't getting anywhere with a booking I placed myself on a waitlist. I was called by her receptionist and in the midst of that coordination I asked why I needed a deposit since I had purchased a package. She said she'd look into it. The receptionist called me back and said that my package was no longer valid and I had lost it's value. I explained how hard it's been to book and how I was never even contacted when they said they did. She tried to justify it by saying I was actually never supposed to expect a call (even though they lied and said they had called). She also falsely accused me of not showing up to an appointment in august which was actually when they charged me by accident. She also said if I had simply called them even ONE week before that they could have helped me sort something out. In the emails she sends she usually makes it clear that bookings are made on the website and not to call. I told the receptionist this and she continued to tell me that I should've called. As if I'm a mind reader that's supposed to know I shouldn't listen to the emails and simply try to call to demand a booking. The way I see it is if your busy I can't force you NOT to be busy and expect her to run herself into the ground. She set boundaries and I was simply trying to respect that. I fully understand that there is a pandemic and scheduling was a disaster because we were beholden to the whims of capacity and shutdown regulations, none of that bothered me until she was not considerate in return & didn't acknowledge she lied and didn't care to try to find a resolution to the situation. read more

She's great at what she does, I have extremely sensitive skin and her hard wax has been great on me, no redness or any type of irritations , zero ingrown, and my skin has become much clearer. The service is perfect she work very fast and is less painful. I got her scrub and some whitening cream, she is helping me with the dark areas and ingrown hair. Her space is clean but she don't have air conditioning, on summer you usually sweat imagine getting that Brazilian. Also, to get into her spot you have to enter though a beauty salon and Nush is down stairs in the basement is not comfortable at all so I suggest she move to a better location and get her own space. Brutally honest, I had a jungle down below. I had gotten tired of trial by fire trying to find a new wax lady after mine of almost 10yrs disappeared into thin air. So things were hella disheveled. I was channeling the 70's. LMAO!!! I came to Nush on the word of an IG'er & a whim. BEST FRIGGIN WHIM EVER!!! I'm in looooove. The jungle is no more & my lady bits are soooo silky smooth. Best part is, of over 14yrs of Brazilian waxes, this is the least painful I have EVER experienced. Even with the full on 70's bush. And I've had a few bleeders & ripped skin in the past. But NOT this time. I SERIOUSLY, AM IN LOVE WITH THIS WOMAN. She handled that jungle like a seasoned professional. NEVER double dipped. First-time client, due to the lack of consistency from wax technicians at European wax center who thought it was cool to leave me with patches of hair on my legs and arms when paying for a service! Nush is nothing but caring, professional, hygienic, attentive, great work ethnic, and very customer oriented! Honestly speaking, I purchased a package after a friend rated this place very highly. It was my first time waxing and the owner of which I believe her name is "Nush," made me feel very comfortable. The pain was less than I expected. She was very quick and I was out of there in no less than 10 minutes. The reason why I am giving a two star rating is because I was always on time for all my appointments, however, one day I was caught up in traffic. I mean, it's New York City what do you expect? These things happen unfortunately. I called to explain I would be just 10 minutes late due to an unforeseen occurrence in traffic. I was informed by the front desk that there would be nothing they can do to accommodate me because her schedule was full. I repeatedly explained that it was out of my control and I've always been on time. I further explained that I was going away the very next day and expressed how important it was to keep my appointment. I begged and begged. The lady gave the phone to the owner. Thinking that the owner would be understanding and helpful, I encountered the opposite. She explained that she was full and did not have any space for me. I again begged and explained the situation and how it would only be 10 minutes. She explained that all her customers have a certain time slot. We stood on the phone for at least 7 minutes going back and forth, the same exact time it would've taken her to complete my wax. She was very resistant and advised that I can come in, but there is no guarantee that I would be seen. I mean come on, who wants to travel all the way over there only to find out they will not be seen? I asked for a refund for my last session in the package. She refused to give me a refund but offered to reschedule for another day. I felt this was very inconsiderate and if you really care about your customers and want to provide exceptional customer service, you would have stretched your rules just a bit and still allow me to come in, even if it was only going to be one time or refund me. But, she had no regards to my situation nor offered to even allow me to wait, so, I decided to reschedule as that was my only option. That was the last time I went there. If you're someone that can always be there at your exact schedule time then this place works for you. But, unfortunately sometimes things happen and if you are running a little late she has no consideration. Amazing.... it was my first time getting a Brazilian wax, and I must say I was nervous at first but Nush made feel completely comfortable. She was very professional. I showed up early, my time was 11:30 am and I was there at 11:00. I had to wait a bit, there was another appointment at 11:15 but she never showed up.
