I visited Tenika today for a Brazilian and underarm was. I was pretty confident that I'd have a good visit based on her reviews. She exceeded my expectations! I was very pleased with her professionalism and thorough work. Before we began, she set expectations and explained her process to make sure I was comfortable. Her suite has a tv playing 90's r&b songs (which I thought was a great touch!) so of course I couldn't help but sing along from time to time. Between that and the good conversation we had, I hardly was focused on the wax. She answered all of my questions and enhanced my knowledge a bit while I was there (which I truly appreciate). I was so pleased and comfortable woth both waxes that I also decided to get my buttocks waxed for the first time. So, after searching for a place to get my Brazilian and not being satisfied with the cleanliness and ambience of a few places, I came across this gem! I'm no newcomer to the wax scene, so this was truly an exceptional experience. The salon is located in the Phenix Salon Suites. Her suite is clean, well lit, comfortable, and cute! My Wax Devah' was amazing! She was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and personable. She answered my questions and offered suggestions of products for my skin. She makes her own scrubs and made my own right in front of me. She was thorough and paid attention to detail. I wasn't left with ridiculous amounts of wax on my skin following. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area and I don't know when I'll be back, but I will be back and will continue to order products from her. I found out about this place on Yelp! Like duh! I was searching for a good gel manicure place near me and it popped up among my searches. I'm so glad I chose this place because it's recently opened and owned by a really nice lady. I love supporting small and black owned small businesses. Unfortunately, by the time I got there her manicurist had left early for the day for personal reasons so I ended up getting a wax. Let me tell ya, this was ultimately my best wax experience. She was so kind, nice and considerate. She made sure I was relaxed and comfortable, and she consistently asked if I was okay. To top that off, she engaged me in a good conversation. We chatted like we've known each other from way back. I highly recommend this place! I came back again for my gel manicure but it turned out to be the day of her grand opening.
