My coworker and I booked this appointment over a week in advance which was a bad experience to begin w/. To book this I had to call repeatedly, there was no voice mail box or any indication that I was even calling the correct # and I had to email the website to get a reply for an appointment. We arrived for our appointments 5 mins early. My coworkers was at 1, mine at 1:30. At 1:50, the aesthitician came out to say she now didn't have time for my appointment and I'd need to reschedule. My coworker said to absolutely NOT reschedule as she actually stopped the wax midway b/c the aesthetician did not know what she was doing, used multiple types of wax, and didn't know how to finish the waxing. I called to get my money back from the site I booked from, which I was able to do. When I called the salon to let them know I wouldn't be back, the aesthetician gave me EXTREMELY personal details regarding my coworker private areas and told me I had a terrible attitude and she was GLAD I would not be coming back in, then hung up on me. Be wary of this place. I also think some of their Yelp reviews (the less recent ones) are fake. Who comes from out of town for a wax? The wax I got was thorough and the technician did not double dip. However, there is nothing, and I mean nothing, else to recommend this place. Points against it: Difficult to make an appointment. First they were booked up, then they only take Lifebooker a few days a week. Then Doris said an appointment I made was made "too far in advance." Took me three times to get an appointment. Decor. This does not put you at ease, it's in a dingy office building, there is a gross looking pink couch in the check-in area, the front desk was not manned by anyone and they share the space with a variety of other businesses. Space (More On Decor): I spent my entire wax staring at an awful water stain (an entire panel of the drop ceiling). This is not comforting. The room was dingy, tiny, and my leg actually hit the wall when I had to bend it for the wax. Painful: I would say this was one of the more painful waxes I've received. The technician (not Doris) never chit chatted. She also never introduced herself. She wore gloves that felt latexy and vaguely sticky, so if she touched a part of skin she'd already been over, it was more painful than necessary. One plus side on the lady who did my waxing: I will say, she did do a great job of asking me about the pain level, asking if I wanted to take a break, being reassuring. But overall, I'd rather it be less painful, your bedside manner won't make up for that. I have had less painful waxes, for sure. read more

Perfect name for this place as Doris certainly knows her wax! This was my first debushery visit since having my now 7 month old so boy was I nervous. But after snagging an amazing deal on lifebooker loot, I figured would give the Waxpertz a try. GREAT experience! Now I don't know about anyone else but I am never THAT comfortable with a stranger milling around down there, no matter how many times I've done it. But Doris had me at ease, so much that we chatted through most of the process (which I generally don't do or enjoy) but she was very easygoing and not OVERLY chatty or aggressive. Excellent bedside manner! And again, she knows her wax! The whole wax was almost pain free. Doris knew what to do it certain areas and was thorough! I have had quite a few brazilians in my day and gone to some the well knowns from J Sisters, and Bliss to Completely Bare. Honestly it's hard to say I have had an amazing experience at any of them considering what is going down... It's a delicate situation.... Waxpertz was a pretty great experience! I knew I was in the hands of a pro who was not just interested in getting as many people in and out the door as possible but was genuinely interested in doing a thorough job and providing great customer service! I discovered Waxpertz Waxing Studio through a deal on lifebooker. I liked that it was close to my office and decided to give it a try after reading all the great reviews from my fellow yelpers. Today I received my first wax from Doris. This is hands down the least painful brazilian I have ever got, in fact not sure that it could get less painful than that! Doris is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable and meticulous, a certified waxpert. She takes great care of her clients. The place is modest but very clean which is the most important thing to me. No double dipping. Lifebooker loot is always tricky. I make sure to read through many Yelp reviews before committing to buying one. After skimming through the many reviews Waxperts had, many of them very good, I decided to commit to the purchase. When I called to make the appointment I even had to wait a week to go. I found it assuring that this place was so busy that they were booked into the next week. Upon my arrival there was a mediocre greeting at best, but I wasn't going to judge them on that. Going into the back room everything seemed to be clean and I'll reassure you now that I kept that opinion the entire time. That is the only reason i gave this place 2 stars. The woman giving the wax however made it one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Complaining the entire time about almost everything I was doing (I was just lying there!!! Half naked and feeling very exposed obviously) I'm 5'11 so YES I have very long legs! She kept moving my legs getting more and more frustrated as she was going making me so uncomfortable! Half way through I told her she could go get someone else to do it if SHE was THAT uncomfortable! Then she started giving me attitude because I couldn't move my leg up high enough for her and that I wasn't happy with her. The entire time she was sighing and grunting making the already painful and awkward situation even worse. Your waxer should put you at ease and try to make the process as painless as it can possibly be. The lifebooker came with 2 appointments. I don't plan on using the second one. read more

My waxing was done by this Asian lady (she's Doris's backup). I generally have a high tolerance for pain so I find her acceptable. But initially she didn't give it enough time for the wax to set and just kept going over the same area a few times to get the wax/hair off. So I had to tell her to give it a few seconds and pull the strip out once and for all instead because whatever she was doing hurt. She was better after that and I was actually pleasantly surprised by the end results. Will come back again with the lifebooker deal. read more

This is a great wax. It's relatively painless, clean, and pleasant. Doris, the aesthetician is super sweet, patient and knows how to make people feel at ease while you are in those uncomfortable positions. As my legs were flayed here and there, it weirdly surprisingly felt so casual -- I could've been at my hairdressers. The place is no frills --- she just started out on her own; her background includes working at those big-time spas and the famous eyebrow place that begins with the letter "E". read more

After trying many different places for Brazilian waxing, I finally found Doris, an awesome esthetician who made me feel comfortable also causes me very little pain ( I have low pain tolerance). She's a friendly person who is very easy to talk to. This is not a spa place and has no fancy decor, but she's skilled, detailed, quick and the price is good. So what else can you ask for! This is a no-frills place, so if you're looking for a fancy environment, this is not your place--in fact, as some have said, the environment can be almost off-putting (hence, only four stars). That said, Doris knows her Brazilians, she is thorough, and she won't rush just to get you out the door. Her prices are reasonable and you can book an appointment by a text message, which is a definite added convenience. There are no Brazilians that are painless, but hers are as painless as they can be, because she listens to her clients and modifies the waxing based on the feedback. I purchased a Brazilian wax through Lifebooker and am so glad I did. Doris did an exceptional job - very thorough, caring, generous and she ensured it was pain-free! Because my skin is sensitive, she put on lavender oil after it, and also aloe vera spray. Doris also gave me a sample to exfoliate. I'd highly recommend this place. read more

It was my first time doing the Brazilian wax and I must say that Doris was awesome! She made me feel so comfortable and made sure that it wasn't painful as much as possible. Her bedside manners are great. She chatted with me the entire time and was so friendly. She has over 11 years of experience and it shows in her work. Sanitation is very important to her and so there's no double dipping whatsoever. She's very knowledgeable and she educated me about skincare and even gave me some tips on which lotions/gels/skin care products to use. I love Doris and I will definitely come back to her. The place is not fancy, so don't expect a high end looking salon. But who cares, I'd choose great service over ambiance. read more

I have been using Doris for a long time. She is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I have never been dissapointed. I use to have acne and cloged pores after a few sessions my skin looked remarkable. used a lifebooker voucher for a brazilian - totally worth it. I went home and bought more. Her methods were a bit unconventional to me (i've never been on all 4s before for certain areas) but she was really nice, friendly, thorough, and by-the-book. Told me stuff I didn't know you weren't supposed to do after a wax (exercise, hot showers etc) and suggested affordable drug-store products to prevent ingrown hairs and bumps. i'll be going back. Also, it was surprisingly not painful. Keep in mind it's a wax down there and it will never be totally pain free, but this was as close as I've ever gotten. Highly recommended. read more

I have very sensitive skin and was dreading getting waxed as my last experience elsewhere was terrible. Ok, so this is a pretty difficult review for me. There are some real pluses and minuses to this place. I guess I'll start with the plus side...this was the most meticulous wax, I've ever received. I bought a Groupon deal for a Brazilian using hard wax. At first, I was so confused because my technician was putting wax all over the place. Like she really put on strips of wax at random and just left them there while she waxed other parts. She used hard and soft wax (not really what I paid for, but it wasn't much above my usual price for a Brazilian so I didn't complain). Finally, she removed the wax strips she had left behind and about halfway through the wax she started to clean me off and apply aloe lotion. Again, super confusing! So she finished off with the rest of the waxing and all I could do was sing "Hallelujah!". I was ready for the confusion to end and get out of hip opener pose (you know that feet-together-knees-apart that can be oh so painful when done for long periods). I was in that pose for 40 minutes!! I had to pull my legs closed with my hands b/c I couldn't move my legs. The waxing experience was easily twice as long as any other wax I had received and I wax regularly! I've only got 1/2 to 1/3 of the coverage of my pre-wax days. The wax job was fantastic, meticulous, near spotless, and long lasting. The wax process was odd and painfully slow. It really was good, but I don't have near an hour to spend getting waxed, so I think I'll stick to my usual fast and cheap spots. read more
