Our party of 5 came in at 6:30pm on a hot summer Friday night, and our booth was ready for us within 10 minutes. My boyfriend and I shared a pound of shrimp, a pound of crawfish, 2 cobs of corn and a bowl of rice. We chose mild spiciness and the while shabang flavor. They give you a little container or salt and pepper you can dip your food in. The also give you a bunch of lime wedges, which we opted in on squeezing into out salt and pepper. I am very grateful that they provide you gloves and bibs to keep your shirt and hands clean. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. I usually don't like crawfish because the meat to shell ratio is not worth it, but if that fulfills your craving, it's worth a try. The corn was so deliciously sweet. The flavor was scrumptious, but I couldn't help but think of how much the butter was clogging my arteries. So if you are health conscious, I would be careful with the flavor you choose. My sister-in-law gave us some mussels to try, and they were cooked perfectly. Our server was friendly and came by our table to check in on us. He even let us borrow his sharpies so we could participate in the restaurant's tradition of signing their wooden walls and pillars.

Great location and delicious options! We especially enjoy the fried shrimp basket and the broiled shrimp and crab legs served in a bag, flavorful. The restaurant is very clean overall, and the hand-washing stations are a nice touch. Ramiro, the host, was wonderful tonight, just as he has been on previous visits. He greets guests with a warm smile and carries a welcoming light about him that makes you feel at home. Our server, Mathew, was also excellent, he brought everything we requested promptly and correctly. This was our third visit, and definitely not our last. It's usually busy on weekends, but the wait time hasn't been too long. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a seafood boil in a bag this place don't play. The sauces are amazing and saucy. It can get messy so I definitely recommend using the bib and asking for gloves. I love their soft shell crab and fried oyster appetizers. For the boil I always get the lobster, mussels and snow crab. It's pricey as it is seafood about $70-$100 per person but it also depends on what you get. To me if you're going to get seafood def spurge it's worth it!

Had a great experience here, ordering is pretty standard to most crab/shrimp boils, seasonings include: 1. Cajun 2.lemon pepper 3. Garlic Mix 4. The whole Shabang which is all 3 combined. We went in an hour before closing and were seating within 20minutes on a busy Sunday night! The interior was very clean, great place to take family or friends. Had such a great experience!

I ain't never seen a seafood boil I didn't love and I don't think I ever will, it's just so darn good! Especially with the whole sha-bang sauce! I especially love that the sauces are independent of the spice level, so you really can try everything. And even without ordering it extra juicy, the boils come with so much sauce, like I took my sauce home and I'm gonna use it on other things too! While all the seafood was delicious, it was kind of hard to peel the shrimp. Maybe it was just an off day, but all the shrimp shells kept sticking to the meat, and it was so hard to get off without mangling the shrimp. And if you want crab, I would say maybe go for the more expensive ones. The blue crab really doesn't have much meat, and the legs are too skinny to find much there either. And if you want to get the blue crab, you have to buy two minimum. As for the service, the workers were really nice, but there were some things I didn't like about the processes themselves. I wish they had smaller gloves, because they were so big, the gloves themselves kept getting in my way of eating. Or they would get caught on the shells and rip. And although they put a big piece of paper down over the table, I wish they provided some sort of tray for you to pour your boil into for easier access while still being contained. And also a bucket to put all your shells in. Our server brought a bucket with the food, but then they put the food bag down and left with the bucket. We were just piling all our trash on the side, but it got so messy so fast.

Such flavorful crawfish and big and juicy oysters!! Their service is very friendly and it's a nice place to get seafood!! I love their decor too.

The place was so open and spacious with tons of seating inside and out. We came during a busy hour and we were still seated and served in a timely manor. Our food came out piping hot. We were so hungry I ordered crab legs, mussels with sausage and corn. The voodoo fries were amazing and fried oysters were so good. I highly recommend this place.

Fresh oysters great! Great service! Just a little heavy on the sodium with the seafood boil. Been to other locations. Limes helped! Love the ambiance as usual!

Every time I visit, the food is really good, and today was no exception. I decided to step outside my usual order and try several new things, and I was very satisfied! What makes Salt unique is their combination of Asian and soul food flavors. You can order your fish or chicken fried in traditional cornmeal or their Asian-inspired salt and pepper blend. Personally, I highly recommend sticking with their Asian-style preparation because the seasoning is absolutely amazing! I've tried the cornmeal version, and while it was decent, it just didn't have nearly as much flavor. Today I ordered the chicken strips, which were amazing! I also tried their fried rice for the first time, and let me tell you, that will definitely become a regular part of my order moving forward. The boudin balls were pretty good as well. The fries, however, were just okay. Nothing special, just regular fries with some seasoning. The customer service is another reason I enjoy coming here. The owner is always present, checking on customers and making sure everyone is enjoying their meals. I really appreciate that personal touch. The atmosphere is very Austin! They have custom wall art featuring famous places throughout Austin, which gives the restaurant a unique local feel. There's also plenty of seating, making it a great option for larger groups. They accept reservations, which is always a plus. Another thing worth mentioning is their Sunday gospel brunch. They play a mixture of music, including plenty of gospel, and usually have a live saxophone player, which adds a really nice touch to the atmosphere. Overall, Salt continues to impress me with its consistency, flavorful food, and welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely keep coming back, especially for those chicken strips and fried rice! If you're visiting for the first time, do yourself a favor and try their Asian-style seasoning. You won't regret it!

Walking in, I was flooded with memories of older times, where I would saddle up to the bar with a mate and start into so Oysters/beer and laughs. Not much has changed, which I found comforting. We were graciously welcomed and lead over to our table. My team was there and we all ordered some drinks. It as lunch, so no beers for me today. As I almost forgot how full and simple the menu was. All sorts of stuff I forgot, including the alligator bites, which a colleague purchased, so others could try. Small knock on this, they weren't as punchy as I recall, perhaps a tad overcooked, but nonetheless, entertaining. I ordered a sweet tea.. haven't have that in a leap year or more. It was perfect! There was so much damage I wanted to do to the menu, but in the end, I settled for the Crispy Salmon and Jumbo Crab. There was no sparing the butter on this dish. Salmon, I mean I cook a great deal of Salmon, was an absolute gem. Crispy and not overcooked and the Jumbo Crab was a nice addition. It did come with a different broccolini, which was a little undercooked, but I'm really being picky here. I ate it all and left butter on the plate. A complete no-no. The ambiance was like it always has been. Busy, colourful and well appointed. Our server, was very knowledgeable about the menu and another colleagues allergy. They checked a couple times to make sure there wouldn't be any mistakes in the kitchen. That was appreciated. I found myself wishing they were closer to my next of the woods, W71/Old Bee Caves road, since it would be another place to frequent again.

Their main thing are the boils and I did try some of that but I ended up ordering a Po boy for myself as that just sounded like it would hit the spot. The po boy was delicious!! Plenty of fried oysters- in fact so many fat oysters I had a bit of a struggle biting into it lol! Someone else at the table go the catfish and had the same problem, two fat filets on the sandwich so you either have to take it apart or really shove everything into the sandwich. A good problem to have! There was plenty of sauce which is essential- sandwiches with fried filling can be so dry if not sauced well- and it was all very tasty. The oysters were hot and fresh and once I shoved them into the sandwich so I could take a bite lol I thoroughly enjoyed it. The lobster bisque wasn't 5 star fine dining but it was flavorful (nice old bay flavor) and I loved that it was a side option other than fries. My friend says the crab here is the best around so I had to try one of his snow crab legs and I agree that it was juicy, hot, and the buttery cajun sauce was delicious! I tried the hot and the very hot- I think the hot was perfect, the very hot didn't seem too bad at first but it definitely builds into a slow intense heat that made my face sweat and nose run XD My husband got a shrimp boil and they were perfectly cooked. The service was friendly and fast (and they were dressed up for Halloween which was cute) and the interior is spacious and they had no issues getting us a table for 7 on a Saturday afternoon. Drinks- the beer was a good price and my mixed drink was only ok but that was my fault because I asked for no syrup not realizing the drink had sour in it so it was way too tart lol. 2nd drink was a Jellyfish and that was great! I'd definitely come back for a boil or another po boy.
