    Blackberry Pork Chop
    Luca D.

Service and ambiance was successful once again (my compliments to the bartender). After having a garden salad with citrus berry vinaigrette, which was the tartest vinaigrette I've ever had, I got the Blackberry Pork Chop entree, which was a large bone-in pork chop covered in blackberry BBQ sauce, served with a sweet potato hash and garlic green beans. The beans could have used a little more garlic but were still cooked properly and the hash nicely combined regular potatoes with sweet potatoes (i.e. the crunchy and soft textures). The pork was cooked perfectly, as the inside was glistening with those juices, and the texture melted in my mouth. The blackberry BBQ sauce gave it a great sweetness. Overall, this is how to celebrate one's 100th Yelp review!!!

Fried dill pickle spear appetizer and lavender lemon martini.

We ate here two nights in a row. The food choices were excellent from southern fare (turkey and dressing) to Italian (pesto pasta) to a smash burger with fried dill pickles and a crab cake sandwich to name a we delicious few. The lavender lemon martini was perfectly mixed. Don't forget dessert - chocolate cake to key lime pie to mixed berry pie.

Cute place w excellent food and choices!

What a great place! The food was fresh and hot, the portions large and the ambiance and service excellent! Fried green tomatoes were out of this world and the trout w asparagus was phenomenal! Excellent place for lunch or dinner we loved it here and went back a day later! What a great place!

My family and I came here for dinner and we all enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service. Although it was pretty busy, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the poke bowl which was more like a grain/Buddha bowl in my opinion since it had sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, and mushrooms which are not typical poke bowl ingredients. Regardless, it tasted good, although I was disappointed that they forgot to add chicken as I had requested.

Had to show you what the Goat Cheese Chicken Wrap looked like with its strawberry slices, chicken pieces, etc.

First time up in Black Mountain and four of us were heading to The Cove for a Women's Retreat and decided to come here per recommendation from our Women's Ministry leader. We sat outside and so I never went inside to see the dining area. Nice and casual, there were plenty of outdoor seating which is ideal for this adorable town. Yet the food was absolutely delicious. I couldn't decide which one to pick so one friend and I each picked one and shared the other half. The goat cheese chicken wrap sounded so good, and the sweet potato fries were chosen as the side. It was very good BUT the hot chicken sandwich stole my heart (or at least my taste bud) as such wonderful flavor!! And the homemade chips were as addictive as were the fries. Great service and excellent experience. Plus, the company was fantastic. I look forward to the next time I visit Black Mountain as I will certainly be back here to eat!

We really like the atmosphere... very open feeling with a classy country design. The food is very good and plentiful. The fish and chips have some of the best breading. I've tasted on fried fish. Turkey and dressing is very well plated and displayed and tastes amazing. This is our first time here and it was a delight. Casual ambience with an upscale twist to country cuisine.. I really like what they've done here... This is a great go to in Black Mountain.

Food was just okay with fried food such as sweet potato fries and fish and chips not being crispy. However, great service and atmosphere.

They do for parties of six or more. I went there recently and I have to say it wasn't good. It may have been a fluke or a bad day, but I would recommend going elsewhere.

That's fine in normal cold weather, but at 22 degrees the overhead heaters just don't quite cut it. I think this part of the experience could use a little revision. My wife had pancakes with vanilla syrup and sausage. I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, grits, sausage, and toast. Everything was very flavorful. My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife's pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren't warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn't even attempt to butter it. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean. On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent! They didn't have any this time, but we'll be back again to try our luck. To those about to nosh, I salute you!!

Here are a few of my chief complaints: 1) There was no one to check me in when I arrived late after a long flight from California. After standing in the empty front room for a while, I saw a small sign saying to call a number to check in. I called twice before an insolent teen in sweatpants finally showed up to give me my key. 2) The inn adds a daily "tip" for room cleaning on top of an already high bill. (This is one of the more splurgey places to stay in the Black Mountain area.) If that wasn't rude enough, no one ever came by during my three-night stay to clean/tidy the room. The toilet bowl had dirt marks all over it when I showed up and there they stayed for the duration of my visit. No one made the bed. 3) Internet did not work. 4) Breakfast begins late -- at 8.30am -- because the chef has to take his five children to school. Seriously. So if you're staying there for work, as I was, you have to get breakfast elsewhere. That being said, after a lengthy argument with aforementioned insolent teen, the chef prepped me some breakfast items before he left for the night and left them in the fridge. That was very sweet of him.

A particular highlight was the owner's involvement throughout the meal; visiting the table on several occasions to personally describe each dish, which proved invaluable given our limited familiarity with South African cuisine. Ambiance: The setting strikes an ideal balance between relaxed and charming. We dined al fresco alongside the garden and farm animals, lending the experience a distinctive, unhurried quality that felt refreshingly unpretentious. The environment is well-suited to those seeking a genuine farm-to-table atmosphere without affectation. Food: The quality of the cuisine was genuinely impressive. The lamb chops were a standout -- cooked to a precise medium to medium-rare and seasoned with a confident, well-balanced hand. The dishes reflected the skill and experience of a kitchen operating at a high level, with clear attention to both technique and ingredient quality. Overall: Bush Farmhouse delivered on every front. The combination of superior food, engaged and joyful staff, and a relaxed, authentic setting makes for a dining experience that is as memorable as it is satisfying.
