We just had the most beautiful drive to Asheville and we were looking for somewhere outside and safe to eat. So we drove around the town of Black Mountain and found this charming little sort of deli restaurant with take out only, attached to a butcher shop. I think they do barbecue too on some nights. There were masks and hand sanitizer outside before you walked in. Dave ordered the Rueben with fries and an IPA. I had the little Cheeseburger with a side salad. Both were ample and fresh made and brought to us outside, where were seated on a covered patio. The place is extremely clean and everything is wiped down. We learned from our campground host that many businesses have closed extra days because they cannot get help. That is why the hours are sometimes incorrect in the Yelp App and it is always good to call before you come! We love supporting local businesses wherever we may travel!

The two of us came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and split a special which was essentially a breakfast hash bowl with potatoes, sauteed onions and peppers, beef, gravy, and two eggs cooked any style. We also split the Butcher's Biscuit (choice of bacon, country-fried steak, chorizo or breakfast sausage, a fried egg, and melted cheese) which was only $6. Service was pretty slow which was my only initial concern, but they also gave us only one egg instead of the two that were supposed to come with our breakfast hash bowl. However, the food was yummy (especially the chorizo), coffee was good, and the portions and prices were just right.

Outside seating is great on a bright sunny day. Not sure what they do if it's raining. We split a Foothills Burger which was tasty and fries were spot on!! $14 for a burger and then got two drinks for a total of $30 plus tip...seemed a little pricey.

Tasty tasty tasty. You have to try this place! They just started doing breakfast and they have local produce with "honest meats". I got the sauagse, eggs & a side of fruit. They are decently priced & the meat was incredible! Please check this place out!!!! Also no lines like Louise's or blue ridge biscuit!

Super cool place. Burgers, fries and drafts were superb. Let down by a $12 margarita that was tiny, no salt and tasted really odd.

That's fine in normal cold weather, but at 22 degrees the overhead heaters just don't quite cut it. I think this part of the experience could use a little revision. My wife had pancakes with vanilla syrup and sausage. I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, grits, sausage, and toast. Everything was very flavorful. My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife's pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren't warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn't even attempt to butter it. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean. On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent! They didn't have any this time, but we'll be back again to try our luck. To those about to nosh, I salute you!!

Market has myriad gourmet items, from wines, interesting beers, cookies and snacks, mountain favorites (pickled okra ), and gifts. Also a robust frozen section with ready to heat meals (lasagna from a company in Charlotte was a surprising 11/10), fish, meats, etc. Deli counter with steaks, fresh fish, cold cuts and deserts. Their deli sandwiches were spectacular. We tried the caprese, turkey and chicken salad versions - all great. Full bar inside too for tipsy shopping. For breakfast we had egg sandwiches and biscuits and gravy - excellent, no notes. Staff and owners very friendly and efficient. Dog friendly patio was a plus (hi Cooper!). We visited the deli/shop as the restaurant was closed. We stopped in to grab lunch. They have salads by the pound and premade sandwiches. Very limited menu. We ordered the Italian sub which was on crusty bread and warmed up. Very tasty. Since couldn't modify sandwiches and order without the bread, ordered a half pound of the chicken salad. It was good. Had berries and grapes with lots of herbs in it. Could have done without the grapes. Grabbed a bag of Bloody Mary chips that were tasty. They do have lots of wine and a huge drink case. There's also the market that sells lots of unique and specialty brands, as well as local brands. They do have several bakery items such as cookies and some lovely looking cakes available by the slice. This is a boutique style deli/store so be aware that that vibe is also reflected in their pricing. Nice place to explore.
