This is a great place to get authentic Korean fried chicken. Our server was really great and made sure we enjoyed the food. Chicken was perfectly crispy juicy inside. The sweet potato fries were awesome and crunchy. Different then American style but really awesome. We will be back

Pretty good Korean fried chicken for Temecula. The batter is really light and super crispy. Kimbab was also fresh and tasty. Must order the Kimari. This is not found everywhere and is a tasty treat. Kimari is glass noodles wrapped in seaweed then quickly fried. As with all Korean fried chicken, they don't start cooking until you order so it may be best to call in the order or be prepared to wait a bit.

This review will not include anything about the food or the ambiance because we couldn't get through the front door. We were visiting from out of town, meeting part-way between our home and our relatives' home in LA. We checked out Yelp for some restaurant suggestions and decided we were in the mood for Korean Fried Chicken. We arrived a little earlier than 11:00 am which was when the restaurant was supposed to open, so we waited by our cars which were parked just across from the entrance. A few minutes after 11:00 am, we got out of our cars and headed to the door. We tugged on it, and it was still locked. No problem. We stood outside and waited patiently. A few minutes later, someone opened the door and told us that there were many large catering pre-orders for take out, and it would be about an hour before they would serve us since they take all of the orders in the order of which they received them. We were also informed that we could've placed a preorder for dine-in so we wouldn't have had to wait an hour. It was clear from his body language that we were discouraged from entering and waiting (even though he said we can wait if we wanted). We decided not to wait because we were all hungry, and we found somewhere else to eat Being reminded to place a pre-order for dine in for the next time we come was pointless because we don't plan to come here the next time we are in the area. We respect that this is how they run their restaurant. If you decide to give The BKC a try, the restaurant might be tricky to find. It is located on the west-facing side of the mall complex, and the dining patio cover may block the name as you drive around. See my photo for reference.

The BKC, is the Best Korean Chicken place outside of Bonchon (LA and PHX) we've tried. It's stuck in a corner of a strip mall, off Temecula Pkwy and is hidden around the corner from La Cucina's. The chicken is freshly cooked (twice) and for $16.99, it seems more than fair, given what they give you. See Menu. But if you're in a rush, keep in mind there's a cost to that freshness. From the point of paying, until your food arrives, it can run twenty-five minutes for that wonderful chicken. Also, this is hacked chicken (photo) with lots of flavor, breading and sauce... Sooo watch out for those tiny pieces of bone. Hey, it's hacked chicken right? And it's delicious. We will absolutely be back to try the rest of the Korean menu. 감사합니다 - Kam-sa-ham-ni-da!

The BKC is a new iteration of its predecessor, Hi-Tofu, which was the best quality Korean food in town. Ordering from this establishment (both in-house and to-go) has always been hit or miss, but comically so! I tried calling on five separate occasions and one day my call was finally answered. I asked to place a pick-up for a half order of soy garlic chicken and was told it would take at least an hour to marinate. I showed up about an hour later (they took my number and said they would call if it was done sooner) and sadly my chicken was soggy from sitting out. At first glance, I thought the chicken was overpriced but once I dug in, I realized it was a good amount of chicken and the flavor was delicious! I'm excited to try some of the other menu items and thankful to still have a Korean restaurant on the south side of town.

I wanted to get Korean fried chicken for my (Korean) husband's birthday. It's difficult to get since moving to this area. I called a few hours early so that I could pick it up for dinner. The place is a little tricky to find but worth the search. It's right on the corner and when I went, it looked completely empty. They came out of the back when I entered and I was able to get my food after 10 or so minutes. Food was very good! We had ttobokki, kimbap, and fried chicken. My husband is pretty picky about Korean fried chicken and ttobokki but he really enjoyed it!

Really enjoyed the food here. Everything was delicious. And their wings were nice and crispy and had a great flavors. The server was nice, but service & cooking times can be extremely slow sometimes. THIS PLACE IS SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! From the quality of food to the authenticity of ingredients to the amazing service. I can't believe we have something like this store here in Temecula!! My sister was craving for real Korean fried chicken and some kimbap but the majority of the stores close to my area were closed. So we tried to go here and called in before hand. Since we are a little bit of a drive from the store, we informed them that we might come a little bit over the closing time. We told that beforehand and they said it was okay and they wished us safe driving. I MEAN WHO DOES THAT?? These amazing souls omg. When we got there not only was the food kept warm, the guy who served us also gave us paper plates!!! And while we were eating in our car (because we were HUNGRY + the smell of the food was so tempting) he came up to us again to give us sodas!!! SODAS!! He said he felt bad that we were eating in our car, it's because the dining area is already closed. TO WHOEVER THAT WAS, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW YOU ARE AN AMAZING HUMAN BEING AND I WISH YOU ALL THE LOVE AND HAPPINESS IN THE WORLD. No wonder their food is amazing, it's made by awesome individuals who cares for their customers and actually genuinely cares for the people. So we showed up a little late on Saturday night, instead of turning us away, they accepted us with open arms. We ordered some beers, honey garlic wings, sweet and spicy wings, and tteokbokki. The honey garlic wings were extra crispy and BUTTERY! The sweet and spicy wings were also extra crispy and tart! I felt like we were in a k drama with all these flavors! The chef also complimented us with dumplings, pieces of bossam pork and a extra beer on the house which was very kind! (Despite the fact that we were the last ones to leave, instead of being mad/annoyed with us, they gave us food ) If you're looking for authentic Korean wings, you have to stop by here!! We live about 30 min away from this place but it's def worth the trip and we'll be back! Thank you again

Wow, this place is wonderful. Stopped by today for an early lunch today with my brother and food didn't disappoint at all (we finished everything within 20 mins, no leftovers were taken home bc it was that delicious.) The server and owner, I assume, were both very kind. They provided fries on the house and catered to my special request (no carrots in my tuna kimbap). Everything was made fresh. Chicken came out last because it takes a while to fry and prep but the exterior was nice and crispy, full of flavor (we got soy garlic.) Tuna kimbap was phenomenal, a burst of different flavors and textures. Fried kimari is also very delish, came out piping hot and crispy. The place is super clean, nice and cold inside when you step in from the outside heat. There's quite a bit of seating but get there early because as soon as noon hit, more and more tables got occupied fast. The BKC, we will definitely return, spread the word, and cannot wait to try other flavors of chicken and kimbap. The dukbokki is next on my try list for sure! Thank you for a delicious and wonderful experience, don't have to drive all the way down to SD for some nice korean fried chicken now!

Giving a star for being nice on the phone and still on their soft opening... BUT can't help to be FRUSTRATED : on your 3rd call attempt (different days) to try to order yet everything is gone ‍. Evening and mid day, few left over items are left. Called around lunch time, no answer. Visited the place 2x, they're closed. No further info provided. Not sure what days they're open or close. Everyday seems like different time opening ‍ I feel very defeated for your Korean cravings in this side of my hood. Your excitement turned dislike ... I guess I'll drive somewhere else to satisfy such cravings, don't care how far. read more

Who would think of finding a great Korean Fried Chicken place in Temecula. I decided to try it out and come to find out it's the same owner as the former Hi Tofu which was one of my regular places for many years. I've tried the Original, Sweet & Spicy, Honey Garlic chicken, Original Kimbab and Bulgogi Kimbab so far. All were well prepared and delicious. I especially liked the Kimbab, which I always get. Although they have a dining area, they appear to mostly geared for takeout or catering because 1) The chicken takes at least 30 minutes to prepare, 2) Your meal would consist mostly of chicken; I personally like to balance my protein with vegetables or something like a salad or Ban Chan which they don't have. 3) Being a small family owned business in hard economic times, they don't have much staff. So if they get a rush, the wait would be even longer. Knowing this, I always call ahead. Also, if I am coming from far away, I want to make sure they are open. read more

Happy to find this little gem in Temecula. We didn't have to drive far to find Korean fried chicken since this one is so close to home. First thoughts is the service is amazing friendly friendly staff. The food is also delicious. The chicken is crunchy and packed with flavor. 100x better than Wing-stop or Buffalo Wild Wings . Had a great first experience. We really liked the sweet & spicy wings. We will definitely be back to try more wing flavors & the half & whole chicken. My favorite touch was the Korean music playing, which made the ambiance great for date night. The service was also very good. Ordered takeout and had the best fried chicken. I couldn't even drive off, we ate it in the parking lot, so def get the soy garlic wings. They were sweeter than I anticipated so I'm glad I didn't get the honey. Fresh kimbap was a major plus and the fries tasted were great too. The service was super friendly and gave me an extra wing and a soda on the house for the wait. There's usually a wait here but I had time tonight and it's well worth it for freshly marinated and fried chicken read more

Small little corner spot for Korean fried chicken! I no longer have to drive to San Diego to get my fix. They serve other dishes as well. Got take out on the 4th of July & it was amazing!!! Everything was delicious; seasoned & cooked perfectly. The wings were tender, had a great crunch to them & wonderfully flavored batter. High quality, delicious, and authentic Korean food freshly opened in Temecula! Has quickly become my boyfriend and I's go to food spot and have had a great experience with food and service. Be aware for ordering the fried chicken they fry everything to order so it takes about 20-30 minutes, you can call ahead though! I have tried their honey garlic, soy garlic, galbi, and butter cheese flavored chicken! All flavors are delicious and the chicken is cooked perfectly with a very juicy, flavorful inside and crispy, battered outside. They also give pickled radish with the chicken that is a great refreshing side dish and palette cleanser. As far as kimbap goes I have had the bulgogi and the cheese flavors and they are great as well, with authentic quality flavor. Prices are not bad, you get a lot of chicken just ordering the half chicken. The ambience inside is a small restaurant with a few tables, but nonetheless doesn't need to be anything fancy because their food speaks for itself on quality worth spending your money on. Cannot recommend enough! Hope they get great business, and I love to support a small family owned restaurant. read more

My cousins and I love this place. I also love picking up chicken from The BKC, bringing it home, and enjoying it with friends for an evening hangout which is what I'm about to do. I always try to order at least 1 hour in advance because takeout orders can take some time (always worth it in my opinion). Staff are super friendly and great. Food tastes amazing and I even missed the taste of BKC while enjoying Korean Fried Chicken in Korea. Always happy to eat from here! read more

We ordered the soy garlic chicken and I could not be happier! I have been to a lot of Korean fried chicken places but this place by far excels in having a crispy skin while maintaining the juiciness of the meat. I ordered my meal to-go and I came slightly earlier than expected. While waiting, they offered us sodas on the house which was extremely nice. Overall, the food is amazing, the family who runs this place is even more amazing. read more

I visited the BKC a couple of days ago for the first time. This restaurant is tucked into a corner behind La Cocina, it is not easily seen from the street. I ordered an 8 pc. Soy Garlic wings, and took them to go. I have to say they were DELICIOUS! A different kind of crunchy coating from anything I have had before. The gentleman at the counter was pleasant, explaining that the wait would be about 20 to 25 minutes as they cook fresh when you order. I will be back, and would definitely recommend that you give this restaurant a try! I am sorry that I didn't take photos of my food......next time! read more

Stopped by after visiting Pechanga. It was a short drive from there and worth it. We ordered the kimbap, honey garlic wings, and ddukboki. They all tasted good, but I personally liked the kimbap the most, particularly the tuna one. The honey garlic wings were hot and fresh. However, it was difficult to find the restaurant because it is so hidden. All in all, I would definitely recommend eating here. read more

I drove here to get kfc for my birthday, ends up there is a wait. A 2 hour wait, It was not busy which is insane. I haven't tried the food yet so I can't judge on the food but I know that a 2 hour wait is mentally insane, good service but I don't like the fact that the wait is that long. read more

Very good authentic Crispy Korean Fried Chicken!!! I give them a high four because the chicken is always crispy and fresh! Their tteokbokki is amazing! Big serving, which lasted my gf and I 2 days to finish lol. Service makes me feel so welcomed and appreciated! The owners are super chill and polite. I didn't give them the full 5 stars because they do lack in speed in getting order out, but I think it's because they take extra precautions in cooking chicken and making sure it's nice and perfect when it comes out. Beware though that you can't bring outside drinks, which is understandable because it's an extra liability for their small family business! I highly recommend this place if you want good authentic Korean fried chicken and honestly want to support local businesses. My personal recommendation to order is Soy Garlic and Butter cheese! The Galbi is good too, but it taste pretty similar to the soy garlic in my opinion, but to each their own! Try for yourself and order online to go if you dont want to wait :)) read more

The meat in both dishes was noticeably tough and difficult to chew compared to other Korean tofu restaurants we've visited. Because I wasn't feeling well, I couldn't fully taste the food, but my wife and daughter both immediately noticed that the bulgogi tasted sour. When we brought it to the staff's attention, they kindly offered to replace the meat, so we requested teriyaki chicken instead. Unfortunately, another serving of bulgogi was brought out instead. By that point, my wife and daughter had already finished eating and gone to the car, so I simply asked for it to be boxed up. After getting home, we decided to throw it away because we didn't feel comfortable taking a chance on meat that tasted off. The side dishes also didn't seem fresh, which matched what I had seen mentioned in other reviews. While I can't say for certain what caused the sour taste, it left us without confidence in the meal. Another thing worth mentioning is that there was no air conditioning on a very hot summer day, which made it uncomfortable to enjoy a steaming bowl of soup. Also, the dishes were served on hot plates, but nothing arrived sizzling or boiling the way you would normally expect at a Korean tofu restaurant. I genuinely want local family-owned restaurants to succeed, which is why writing this review isn't easy. Every restaurant can have an off day, and hopefully that's what happened here. Unfortunately, this visit didn't meet our expectations, and based on our experience, I'd encourage others to use their own judgment when deciding to dine here.

Apparently, I was unaware of the unspoken rule that some places don't serve parties of one on weekends. One restaurant even had me wait 25 minutes before telling me they wouldn't seat a solo diner during the weekend. When I called this restaurant, the owner or manager immediately answered and was incredibly friendly. He explained that they offer entrée and plate options for guests who aren't doing the all-you-can-eat menu. I honestly don't understand why more restaurants don't offer this. I know the food industry is competitive and businesses have to make money, but having options for solo diners makes such a difference. When I arrived, I received wonderful service right away, and there was no wait, but they were full. The owner or manager recognized me as the person who had called earlier and went out of his way to make me feel welcome since we found out we're from the same area. He even added a little surprise to my order simply out of kindness. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. In an area with no shortage of restaurants, I want to give this place the credit it deserves, not only for the excellent food, but for the heart behind the business. Going on a weekday was definitely the right move, and I'll stick to weekday visits for sure! As for the food and drinks--everything was delicious! You have to try the mimosa flight. If you're a fan of korean style fried chicke , you have to try The BKC at the Wolf Store retail park in Temecula next to La Cocina. From the moment you walk in, you're hit with the mouth-watering aroma of their crispy golden chicken. The decor is simple, but the attention to detail in the cleanliness really stands out. I ordered the soy garlic chicken on my first visit, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked, with crisp skin and tender meat. The flavor was exceptional, with just the right balance of savory and sweet. Pro tip: order the pickled radish as a side, they're perfectly seasoned and crunchy just like the chicken. Moving from San Diego it's kind of hard finding a diverse Asian cuisine selection, so when I wanted some BonChon I was hoping the Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula area had at least one place that could match it. This place by far is the best Korean fried chicken in the area. I only got their fried chicken so I can't speak on their other dishes. Definitely 5 out of 5. I've tried to go here 2x now when they said they were open. Once at night and once this afternoon. Google says they're open and Yelp says they're open, but it's hard to believe when no one is ever there and it's dark in there.
