There's finally a Korean Fried Chicken place in town! My wife and I showed up one day and a person who I assume was the owner told us they were having plumbing issues and so they weren't taking dine-in customers that day. No problem, we were going to order to-go anyway. We ordered two different flavors of KFC, an order of kimbap and an order of kimari. Another couple entered in after us and were told about the plumbing situation as well. They ordered food to-go, but while they were waiting the gentleman decides to try and use the restroom. The owner stopped him and reiterated that the plumbing was broken, but the gentleman acted like this was news to him, got offended, and he and his wife left before his order was finished. So to the guy who acted like a jerk to the owner, thanks for the free bulgolgi kimbap! It was good! While I enjoyed the kimbap, the stars of the show were the fried chicken. Crisped perfectly, and the flavors were a good blend of sweet and savory. The meat was juicy and tender. I'll definitely be back for that! My friends and I arrived towards the end of service and warned us that they only had a few items left from the menu. We ordered soy garlic, sweet and spicy, and honey soy, all was delicious and crunchy! You can tell they put in a lot of effort into making sure their quality is high. We were finally able to try this place out and it did not disappoint. Ordered the galbi chicken wings, kimchi and bulgogi kimbab . The food was delicious and you can tell they put a lot of effort into their presentation and care about the quality of their food. We did notice the yelp hours show 11am but when we called no one was picking up. Called again after 11:30am and was told they open at 12pm but we could place our order and it will be ready at 12:30pm. As we weren't in a rush we went ahead and did that and would definitely go there again, but if you are on a lunch break from work, or in a hurry, or just really hungry just keep in mind how long it takes to get your food. Wow never again I've gone there twice and left with no food. One time they were closed when they are to be open, today I went there walked in all the chairs are on top of the tables I assume they were closed, a girl outside walking her dog from the restaurant (a worker) said he was in the back getting something. Dishes piled in the hand sink, shit everywhere I was about to leave, the guy comes out said what do you want, I said I wanted to get some chicken, where is the menu, we don't have menus was his reply. So after checking it out I was greeted by the owner and he was very nice and welcoming. Inside of the restaurant it wasn't complete because they are redesigning it but I will say that once they do finish it will look great. I ordered 2 Gimbap rolls, the Original and the Bulgogi and I must say they were delicious! What is up with the raw kale garnish? Don't people know that raw vegetables have parasites especially greens and should be washed, blanched and then sautéed? I swear the owners must think we are all fools. This place is just another fake oil fried low quality chicken race to the bottom place. If you're going to be lazy and have a fries menu, at least fry the kale to make chips. At least it's edible then. The sauces are all bought in and full of chemical preservatives. Don't judge a book by its cover. It is tucked in the corner and you could completely miss it if you weren't looking for it. The inside also doesn't give you a clue as to the amazing-ness that is THE BKC! We love all the different sauces, but my personal favorite are the plain original fried wings!! The chicken was bomb here. I had the the soy and honey garlic wings (half order). I ordered by phone, they said it would take 35min but it was done 25min later when I got there. I appreciated that my Togo order was bagged up but the boxes inside were left open so the chicken would stay crispy. They were giving free fries with every order that day. The fries were soft rather than crispy on the outside like I am used to but they were surprising delicious just as they were. I shared they order with my wife. I eat a lot and was a little worried I didn't order enough, but we both stuffed ourselves and there were left overs. We ordered to go and food was ready for pickup when they said it would be. Korean fried chicken takes a while to prepare, but it does at any place, and it's always worth the wait! The customer service is still great! We were given lots of extra pieces of chicken and free seasoned fries. The chicken was so crunchy and flavorful! There were also yummy pieces of garlic! Restaurant has great food, but service is not dialed in yet. We ordered 2 different chickens (sweet and spicy + honey garlic), plus tuna kimbap. Everything was very delicious. We will definitely come back for more. As for the service... There is lot more to improve on. The server was very kind. We were the first ones there, and the food to table wait was about 45 mins. It seems as though they mainly cater towards pickup orders. I would see some people come in and pickup food and leave. But when other potential dine-in customers came in, they were quoted 60+ mins. And understandably, one after the other, all potential customers turned around and left. I don't know what it'll take for the restaurant to have faster turn around, but 60+ mins when restaurant is almost empty sends a bad vibe. I hope this improves soon. I think it will help if the restaurant post a current wait time in front. It'll save everyone the hassle, and some time. The ingredients were really fresh. Their chicken is flavorful, we got the soy garlic and sweet & spicy flavor. Their normal business hours will be from 11am - Midnight so if you're looking for a late night dinner spot, I recommend you try this place.
