I'm honestly shocked it took me this long to discover this place. How a restaurant this good has been here for 15 years without me knowing about it is beyond me. I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon with a baked potato and asparagus, and it was excellent. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a proper steakhouse experience. My friend had the lamb chops and oysters Rockefeller and couldn't stop talking about how good both were. That alone says a lot. The ambiance is polished but comfortable, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Even the small details stood out. They filter their water, and you can actually taste the difference, which is rare and says something about how much they care about the overall experience. There's clearly a level of consistency and quality here that's hard to find. This easily earns a spot on my top 10 list in the Coachella Valley.

As a frequent yelper, I try to give my honest opinion. This will not be an exception. I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time. This is a definite One and DONE. It is best to make a reservation. I did go the week prior and it was a 2 hour wait. This time I had a reservation.. no wait.. the hostess was very nice and friendly. Ambience: dark, nice table settings. I would not get overly dressed up but there is a dress code they made my father-in-law take off his hat. It is overlooking the rock yard, which was very loud because there was a concert going on. There was a table across from us that were obviously highly intoxicated and I believe should've been cut off. Loud and obnoxious. Service: Hostess 5/5 The rest 3/5 We waited more than a few minutes for even water. People walking around not paying us any attention...For a restaurant that was not at all packed I would expect more. I guess they noticed me looking around because then I was asked if I wanted water and bread was brought out hot and in a paper bag. Not bad very soft. The drinks: I got an Apreol Spritz. It tasted like watered down Apreol no Prosecco. My husband's old-fashioned look at the picture. It was red and he said it was not good. My server... nice at first but inattentive, and I believe maybe was a little overwhelmed? She didn't check on us often didn't bring out the sauce My husband asked for. When it was time to take the food away, he asked her for a box, he ordered the filet mignon. She said there wasn't a box small enough and couldn't give him a container, so it was wrapped in foil paper and brought it out in a paper bag. Unbelievable. I asked another gentleman to pack up my mother-in-law's dinner, brought it out in a container and gave her bistro bag a thumbs up to him When the check came, my mother-in-law left cash to cover the drinks and tip and her card for the meal. I don't think Maria understood her put all the cash on the check and used the rest for the card then came and said she needed to pay for the alcohol. I explained to her very nicely that's not what she meant and she said I already did it too bad I can't undo it, and I looked at her and I said that tip was for you. That changed her tune she went back and fixed everything! For a $320 dinner tipping her over 25% was more than generous, especially when service was not the greatest. Food: hands-down, some of the best sushi I've tasted. Shout out to the sushi chefs! I got the shrimp tempura salmon roll 10/10!! My salmon, flavorful, but a small portion and I did not like the sides. 5/10 Filet mignon, served medium rare Very tender, good portion 8/10 My mother & father in law like their steaks well done. They said they were very delicious. I love to try new places and I'm glad I tried The Bistro, it is just very disappointing that I did not have a good experience here and will not be returning.

On a recent trip to California to visit family, my Aunt & I decided to explore Fantasy Springs Resort Hotel on a Sunday. We were in the mood for a lite bite to eat. We saw The Bistro advertised in the Hotel & decided to try it. We were greeted by a smiling hostess and were seated promptly. Given it was a Sunday evening, the place was relatively quiet. The dining area is elegant. Soft lighting and white tablecloth. There is a view of the kitchen. Our server was attentive but apparently her shift ended before we finished eating because Javier, took care of our table. My Aunt & I shared the Cheese & Charcuterie Appetizer along with a California Sushi Roll. I also enjoyed two glasses of Merlot. I was disappointed that Apple Pay is not accepted, however; our choice to eat at The Bistro proved to be the right one. It was a relaxing evening and the food was very tasty. We definitely will dine here again the next time I visit.

The Bistro is probably one of the places you should eat at while visiting the Fantasy Springs Casino. It opens at 5:00 p.m. and is occasionally very busy, therefore reservations are recommended. Since today is Thanksgiving, all of the tables have been reserved, but we were able to sit outside on the patio. Actually not bad for patio seating, although the wait time for food can be pretty considerable. Overall, my family and I enjoyed all of the food we ordered. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Food service was not good,waiting for 20 minutes for someone to take our order even then he had to come back to check what kind of steak and how he wanted the steak medium rare ,chared and when he got it was well done and tough, when we called the manager she was no help his drink came half an hour we very disappointed it was our anniversary and we always had a good experience and good service we were late to the lit club no tables my plan was a beautiful night and instead it was a horrible experience and it was not that busy that night there were so many tables available then the manager offered him another drink you would think she would have comp him because of the service being so bad but we got charged for that extra drink and we've been there about a dozen times but I'll have to think if I want to go on my special occasions

On the upper level above the casino within the Fantasy Springs Casino Resort. Free parking in the garage. There was a wait for the dining area around 7pm on a Friday night in Feb 2025, but you can sit at the bar or the sushi bar without waiting if there are open seats. Note if you sit at the sushi bar, you can only order their Japanese offerings. Bar seating you can order the whole menu. Upscale casual dimly lit atmosphere. Fast and friendly service! We got the poke tower and a roll (don't recall the name, but it was the biggest offering - 10 pieces). Good amount of food for two adults. Delicious! That plus 2 beers, tax, and tip was around $70. Not bad given today's pricing.

Went to this place for the first time and also for a family birthday celebration! And man was it and awesome place and they do have a dress code so you have to dress up nice and no hats in the restaurant! Our table was next to the wall of windows and it was very nice and relaxing and enjoyable! Our waiter was awesome and I think his name was Miguel and he's was very attentive to our party and always checked on our party and the service he provided was excellent and top notch! I ordered a fantasy springs margarita and man was it tasty highly recommend! For dinner I ordered a 24oz porterhouse steak with asparagus and four cheese agratin and all of it was amazing tasty and flavorful! I didn't think I would eat the whole thing as it was a lot of food but it was so delicious and tasty I ate everything! If you're ever in the area and looking for a nice relaxing and enjoyable steakhouse I highly recommend this place! But remember there's is a dress code so get dressed up and go have and amazing dinner and time with family, friends or even a date!!!

We came here for dinner for the first time yesterday and I am still full! We had a wonderful meal. We were greeted warmly and quickly seated. Hannah , our server introduced herself . She told us about the specials and explained some of the dishes we had questions about. We had drinks and bread while perusing the menu. I enjoyed my lemon drop and my husband his bourbon. We ultimately decided to split a few things. Hannah asked the kitchen to divide the soup and salads so we weren't eating off the same plate. Everything was presented beautifully at the perfect temperature. We loved the crab Louie salad and my husband thought the onion soup was the best he's had. We ordered the crusted pork chop dinner to split and it was very tender and moist. Also a side of risotto . Which was great! Hannah did an amazing job with our meal. She was friendly and professional and we greatly enjoyed our time at the Bistro.

So this was a gem of a find in Indio California at the fantasy Springs Casino. We were there for my birthday week at a gorgeous resort style Airbnb in the Terra Lago Community right on the lake and didn't really have plans to leave the house much except for my birthday dinner. It's slim pickings there unless you drive into La Quinta or Palm Springs which we didn't wanna do. Bistro was highly recommended by an acquaintance of ours and after looking at their reviews online we decided to give it a shot. Super glad we did! While the ambience was a little bit antiquated which is to be expected of a casino restaurant in the middle of the desert, the service was on point and the food was absolutely fabulous!! I cannot stress how truly impressed we were. I have worked in fine dining for 30 years and I am super picky about service and food. Every single thing we ordered was to die... from the baked oysters with the fresh crab meat, to the raw oysters, to the escargot over gnocchi(omg!!), to the delicious lemony Caesar salad and of course a perfectly cooked charred filet mignon with asparagus and baked potato. And as it was my birthday they brought a full slice of chocolate cake which was very impressive as most places just give you a scoop of ice cream with a candle and it was not some cheap dry chocolate cake but really freaking delicious! We also were impressed at their kitchen layout where the chef was clearly Watching over every plate that went out and not only for quality but giving tips and training in the process which I think is really cool. The server and manager were super, friendly helpful and quick efficient service! We would definitely come back if we were staying in the area again ! Only feedback... update the decor a little. Rip out the casino floor carpet and 90s oak furniture and give it a modern makeover :) read more

My wife, Cheryl, and I are weekly diners on Mondays at The Bistro Restaurant @ Fantasy Springs. The Monday crew of chefs (and their assistants and trainees) are top-notch. They provide delicious specials and a variety of savory menu items--all of which are better than any restaurants of this type in the Coachella Valley. Special mentions for Santiago and Claudia, along with other chefs who do an extraordinary job in the kitchen! Their 'specials' are always outstanding, and creatively presented in a truly elegant fashion. Among the servers, Maria, Justin, Hanna and Javier always pay attention to each customer, providing excellent suggestions, along with their perfect and tremendous service! The bussers, Matthew, and David, are also excellent at doing their job of keeping everyone happy as they pay attention to every need of the diners. They never miss a thing! Rosie at the front/reception is friendly, always mindful of all customers... and she definitely has our backs when it comes to the weekly reservations we never fail to make before leaving the restaurant. When asked, we recommend The Bistro to everyone we know. Usually, we do not make recommendations--but for THE BISTRO, it's no problem at all. Never a disappointment. We had a special event here and Chef Freddy prepared a wonderful and delightful menu. The service was fantastic and the food amazing. Definitely a must visit when in Indio. Our group of 9 ended up at The Bistro based on reviews for a birthday dinner in a private room, unaware that it was in a casino resort. We enjoyed ourselves despite not being a group of casino goers. The private food allowed us to be noisy without guilt, the service was great with constant attention to our needs, and there were food options for everyone. Without a doubt, sushi is their specialty and everything else is on par with a typical restaurant. read more

We throughly enjoyed our dinner at Bistro! Service was excellent - she was on top of refilling water glasses and checking in to make sure all was to our liking. Two had the sea bass, one the salmon and I had the pork chop. Everything was really delicious! Ambiance is quiet and comfortable despite being inside a casino. This is a very nice restaurant; it is upscale and the food represents that. The shrimp & scallops fra diavolo is wonderful; a little spicy & served hot! Many restaurants bring out the food lukewarm, but the presentation was classy & the food hot. Atmosphere is also nice, one recommendation would be to separate the tables just a bit; seemed we were crammed together a little. read more

Small hidden fine dining restaurant in Fantasy Springs Casino. Had the Kobe Beef Meatloaf which was simply amazing! Such an off choice for me but my husband had mentioned one of our friends had had it before and it was surprisingly tasty. This dish did not disappoint and the mashed potatoes were creamy and tasty also. Don't let the photo fool you, it was a large portion. The Strawberry Blonde cocktail is not to be missed! This drink was sweet and delicious, it will sneak up on you as it is a bit strong to have on an empty stomach. Prices are really good compared to some of the other steakhouses around town. Service was a little slow in the beginning but the drink server took our food order. After ordering it did not take too long before our meal was served. read more

I will unfortunately never return to this establishment and based upon my experience I would suggest it gets boycotted. The food was slightly above average for taste/presentation, etc. It was a little on the pricier side when compared with value. That is OK, my wife and I enjoy going out on the town and eating at new places and this is often the case. My issue with this restaurant most likely stems from management driven policies in regard to the dress code. The dress code, as posted on their website states no hats and no tank tops. I usually wear a mix of business casual to formal wear, and I almost always wear a tweed or flat cap. I find it kind of difficult to see distaste in this type of cap, but hey, I can see some value in a dress code. To preface, I am a disabled combat veteran with facial and head scarring, so I wear a hat because I am sometimes insecure about it. As we walked into the restaurant, I observed two females wearing hats. I observed other females wearing daisy dukes so tight there was camel toe while also wearing tank tops. As I observed this, I thought to myself, great...I can wear my hat. Immediately the hostess told me I must remove my hat. I explained the situation with my scarring, and she said it didn't matter. I then pointed out the women wearing hats and half nakedly eating steak, to which she shrugged her shoulders at. After being seated, and quite honestly getting frustrated, I put my hat back on. I was then notified by the waiter that I needed to remove my hat. I again explained my position on the matter (scarring, the women wearing hats, etc.) to which he stated, "it doesn't apply to women". Regardless, it was my anniversary, and I did not want to cause a scene disturbing the time I had with my wife. But you should know, this policy is being enforced in a sexist manner and after I explained my disability you basically told me "Too bad". If I could swear here, I would. I'll settle for "F-off!!" read more

Unfortunately meal was terrible! Brought raw steak out then offered to remake it. I've had this happen before and it takes them an hour to correct the order. By that time everyone is done. I won't return here ever again. They didn't even offer to discount the meal. So I paid $120 for bread. Go to spotlight 29 they serve lobster and steak for half the price read more

We celebrated my grandsons 24th bday. There were 4 adults & 4 children/toddlers/infants. Our waiter/server was fantastic (I believe his name was Justin) All the servers were great. I liked this place immensely. The decor is dated and could use a major fix BUT their fish entrees are great. I loved my fish so much I wanted to come back the next day. The sushi that I tried was just okay so I would pass on that and try some other appetizers instead. The wine list here is also a keeper. You can go high end for decent fair prices which I always like. I'm never cheap but getting a New Zealand Chardonnay at $30 that was better than a $100 California one was a super find. They also have a selection of great wines for $25 which I appreciate after the $30 bottle selling at $90 junk at another casino down in Palm Springs. The waiters are also very attentive and there is no snob attitude which is silly at casinos. All in all we were greatly impressed. The room does need a major revamp but if I have great fish and wine and people are nice to me that's all I need. read more

Great! If you are a local or just passing by, definitely worth checking out. Cocktails are made perfectly and you get what you pay for. Service is exceptional, we had Justin and rest of wait staff and manager were welcoming and super nice. Food was excellent and we can't wait to come back again and try more. Went out for dinner with my mom last night and was wearing a hat. The hostess say's " sir, I'm sorry but you're going to have to take your hat off if you want to eat in here". "I said oh ok, no problem" Meanwhile the couple behind us the woman is wearing her hat and being seated and they never told her to take her hat off. Bus boy comes to the table and I said "hi, I was told to take my hat off but the woman over there is allowed to wear hers?" He says "women are allowed to wear hats, men are not" I said "well that's a little sexist, no?" He goes " well let me ask the manager". Meanwhile i notice another male wearing a hat inside. Female manager comes over moments later and says sir, the gentleman has a condition and that's why he's allowed to wear it, you may wear yours now if you'd like. I got the well done New York steak, and holy crap it was good. It was worth all the wait, you're able to get it with baked or mashes potatoes. They give you freshly baked bread and wow. It's hot and ready for you to eat and with the olive oil they give you together, is the best. The place is beautiful and the workers are so kind and friendly. Definitely recommend for a really nice dinner. (The steak I got was $50 16 oz.) read more

Wow we had an excellent dinner! The food was so delicious! The Kobe beef meatloaf and mushroom soup were 10/10. The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for a great comfort meal. We've been going to The Bistro for the past 8 years and it is our favorite restaurant in the CV! We are locals (year-rounders) and do not gamble, but we are always happy to drive to the casino for dinner here. The menu has a lovely variety, so I can have sushi, seabass or pasta with seafood and my husband is in heaven with all their meat dishes! Food is delicious and portions very generous! Bread is amazing! We were trying to think if we've every had an even "so-so" dinner there and we have not!! Service is always wonderful and the BEST (huge) martini's EVER! read more

Had superb dinner last night January 1st, staff are attentive my water glass is always filled:) ate here with my hubby and we enjoyed the food and ambience. It's quiet so we had a relaxing dinner. Food is ok, had the sea bass which was good but the based rice is uncooked, I'm not sure if that's supposed to be cooked like that but I eat rice everyday bring Asian and I can't just eat that rice they've used. Husband had the porterhouse and he liked it. read more

A bit later, we get a notice from OpenTable that we did not check in so I called the restaurant the following day to ask them what happened, the nice young lady that answered the phone told us that they were open at the time of our reservation. If they were indeed open, what a turn off to have only two cars in the parking lot, pylons in front and trash stacked on the outdoor table, I can't imagine what the inside would look like or the kitchen.

Would definitely call The Bistro our favorite restaurant in the Valley! We always receive a warm welcome from Justina, the manager. She is eager to help us with reservations whenever we need them also. Sam and Alex are the best bartenders ever! They are pleasant every time we visit and they make a great dirty martini Justina has an incredible staff! The food is delicious 100% of the time‼ We love the sushi items and the filet is to die for. With all the great dining choices in the desert it's a mystery why anyone would want to eat here. I did due to others in my party wanted to stay close to the gaming tables. Anyway, the food was nothing exceptional. Buffet food served in semi fancy setting. Everything thing at this restaurant is overpriced. Perhaps this is the place where comped gamblers eat? Cannot imagine people paying $12 for a glass of wine which sells for $5/bottle or $14 for dessert. Keep looking by driving 8 miles west to Palm Desert if you want fine dining. read more

I had an amazing Cabernet Sauvignon to go with my dinner which was the boneless braised short ribs. My dish was accompanied by broccolini and horseradish mashed potatoes. One bite and I was sold! I could probably go on talking about this dish for hours but I'll spare you. We had a party of 14 and the manager was great about getting us in at the last minute. yelpers... ya gotta try the sushi here. this is like the best kept sushi secret in the palm springs area. While the roll selection isnt very extensive, the fish is super fresh and they'll make just about any sashimi or nigiri order you want. Supposedly, they'll also do sushi for you to go on weekdays ;) Staff seems pretty nice and attentive. Will check out again for entrees other than sushi next time. read more

The restaurant was busy on Saturday night and we were seated in a large comfortable booth facing the bar. The sommelier, Alex, introduced himself and I ordered a split of Elouan Pint Noir for $20. I thought it was very tasty and at a great price. He didn't make me feel like a hump either by ordering a modest wine. Our waiter, Rolando, provided exceptional service all night long. He was really great and very professional. The wife ordered The Garden Farm Red & Greens ($16) that was one of the tastiest salads we've had in recent memory. Red radicchio, baby arugula & Belgian endive, candied walnuts, dried cherries, Asian pear, applewood smoked bacon, goat cheese crumbles, vanilla honey essence and dressed in a marvelous champagne vinaigrette. It was delicious with many different textures and flavors. The wife ordered the 8 oz. Filet Mignon ($65) and I went with the 16 oz. NY Steak ($70), with a loaded baked potato ($13) sautéed mushrooms ($14), and a side of peppercorn sauce ($6). Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. Rolando treated my wife to a wonderful chocolate brownie for her birthday dessert. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner together and were impressed with the entire dining experience. We both said to one another on the way out, that we would love to come back sometime.

The staff were all very warm and accommodating. I didn't have any food but there was a large table basically in the middle of where our group was congregating and everything looked and smelled good. The only negative was though I was simply standing with a drink and talking I found it to be kind of hot inside even though it was yet not that hot outside prompting me venture into the larger dining area where there was an overhead fan which thankfully cooled me down sufficiently. But a side benefit of that was, I discovered a good sized entertainment stage at the far side of the room. Although I'm not a big fan of country music I will definitely look into what they offer in shows. And make a point of having a meal in the near future as my social group will likely meet there again for our monthly gatherings. I would give 5 stars if not for the indoor temperature but even at that I'd 4.5 stars if Yelp allowed.

The catfish was a little over seasoned for my taste. We will definitely be back.

Our server finally came back to take our order. I thought they might have some specials, but he didn't mention any and I was impatient at that point. I don't always leave 5 stars, but the food made up for what the service lacked. It was really worth the wait once we got our food. We started with the potstickers. They were prepared excellently. They weren't soggy at all as they can sometimes be and the dipping sauce was simple yet phenomenal. The calamari was great. It was crispy and had crunchy breading. The best thing were the onion rings. They were THE best I've ever had. They were just the right amount of crispy, they weren't greasy and their flavor was amazing with the perfect amount of salt and seasoning. We even tried the BBQ shrimp. That was just ok, I don't know about the sauce or the piece of bread it comes with. Our entrees were excellent too. I had the halibut with pepper jack risotto. That was amazing. You don't find halibut at a lot of places and it was so flakey and not dry whatsoever. The risotto was excellent too. You hardly ever see pepper jack flavor either; It did not disappoint! The spaghetti was amazing too. My partner ordered that. Their homemade noodles and sausage are next level. A couple other entrees at our table included the filet mignon and the New York steak. They were both excellent. I'd say the New York steak was the better of those two options. It was cooked to perfection. Our server didn't bring our food out, but the guy who brought our food knew which person ordered which entree without asking which was cool. We didn't stop there. They we had dessert. I tried the peanut butter gelato. It was rich and decadent. My partner had their house butter cake a la mode, which was so tasty. It was moist and not overly sweet. The banana split was huge too! The valet gives you tickets to pick up your car. We were one of the last patrons of the night and Seth from the valet recognized us and already had my car ready before I had my ticket out. He saw me in the lobby area about to exit. I highly recommend going here. Make a reservation for outdoors (when the weather permits) and you'll probably get a great server. I had the Shrimp Ravioli which was tasty. Ample shrimp, in fact I would have traded one of the shrimp for another ravioli portion. My wife had the short ribs which were ,okay. the apple crumble was disappointing. All in all, it was a very pleasant evening. Although on the pricey side, It's a great place for special occasions.
