I like coffee -- a lot. I enjoy socializing. I also like to support locally owned businesses. But I live in a neighboring town, so I only make it into the Bindlestick every couple months or so. Today was the day. I was struck again by its uniqueness, even as a PNW casual eclectic coffee shop. The vibe is part corner coffee shop and part corner bar. If you want to exercise your northwest "I'm both engaged and apart" pathos, you can get your drink and retire into the corner with your laptop. And that is cool. No harm, no foul. But The Bindlestick has seating around the bar. That's where this place shines. You can think of it as northwest "Cheers" if you like, but that's a bit too cliché, and doesn't do it justice besides. But again today, I came away with a couple hours of engaging conversation, funny banter, and a little bit of renewed faith in humanity. That's pretty darned good for a little coffee shop off the beaten path. Oh. And the service is excellent. read more

It's ok. It's a fun local vibe. Coffee and food are ok. The pear Kombucha was great. I've enjoyed coffee with friends inside and it was ok. If you want patio seating, and you don't care for cigarette smoke, try somewhere else. We won't go back for this reason. I double-checked the law and it is clear in wAsh that smokers are supposed to be outside the service area and 25 feet from the door. Common knowledge. So we were rather surprised at how many smokers kept lighting up in the service area. Not sure why this is allowed. It's a beautiful day and you've been walking around downtown Snoqualmie. A beer sounds fantastic! This is where you should go! Situated across from the railroad museum, is a quaint little bar called The Bindlestick. They have a few craft brews on tap and some bottles in a small fridge. The inside is dark, but in an inviting and relaxing town-pub sort of way. There is mis-matched patio seating outside, which gives you the feeling that you're chillin' in a friend's backyard, more-so than sitting on a bar patio. I liked the relaxed atmosphere and the fact that everyone there seemed ultra-friendly and acted like they were long-time amigos. They are dog-friendly, accept credit cards, and very generous with sample tastings. The beer is a perfect temperature and beer from the tap is served in a cold pint glass. Give it a swig! read more

I can't say that I'm a regular here or ever will be but my son has an obsession with trains and I always make him go here after we visit the Train museum. I also have a deep need to support very small local businesses whenever possible. So I liked the place just fine under the previous owner. What the new place keeps is good espresso and a small selection of good baked treats. What she's added, and warms the heart of this beer nerd, is a cooler full of very nice beers. Since the chance of getting a good beer that wasn't brewed by Snoqualmie Brewing in these parts was previously zero, that's great! I'm not often here during beer drinking hours but I love that it's an option and I think we'll make a specific trip some late afternoon soon. The selection really is that good. read more

After a lengthy visit to the nearby taproom, we took in some of the sights in downtown. I'd wanted to buy some of those fabled northwest coffee beans to return home, and so we found ourselves at The Bindlestick. As it turns out, they didn't have any beans to sell, but that was where the disappointments ended. No, instead of some magic beans we discovered the place was a dual threat: a coffeehouse with two expertly-selected beer taps and a fridge full of craft brew. While we nursed a fresh set of pints, knowledgeable and thoroughly cool beerista Sarah gave us extensive information about the best in nearby watering holes. Coffee, eventually sampled later, was equally well-sourced and expertly prepared. The pastries, locally supplied, were excellent. Between the beer, the coffee, the terrific service and the live entertainment, I can say with certainty that if I were a local, I'd be hanging out here a lot. read more

Although I frequent many coffee shops/cafes, I'm not really a coffee drinker, per se. I usually get iced tea, hot chocolate, or some other coffee alternative. Every once in a while I'll get a latte/mocha but still not on a frequent basis. Luckily, I was able to stumble upon this small, non-chain coffee shop in Snoqualmie so that I could actually experience a good cup of caffeinated beverage. The barista at The Bindlestick (pretty cool, original name) was very friendly, helpful, and talented. She quickly worked up my order, The Polar Bear: black and white mocha, creme de menthe, and Irish cream. Dude, it was a pretty tasty drink. The other orders in my party seemed to be equally delicious and it was a unanimous decision that this was one little coffee establishment to be reckoned with. So, here's what I recommend. On a nice, sunny day after you check out Snoqualmie Falls nearby, drop by this quaint hole-in-the wall (it is small) and check out their original menu on the blackboard. Order up one of those concoctions and enjoy your delicious drink while you stroll along the shops right outside. And yes, I'll be back! read more

She has an amazing selection of rotating beers, ciders, and kombucha on tap. Organic coffee! During normal summer times it has an amazing outdoor area for live music. My daughter and I go into the Bindlestick as a special treat whenever the opportunity arises. It's a little hole in the wall place that has a local, artsy vibe. There is even art for sale on the wall by local high school students/artists. They offer coffee drinks, alcoholic beverages, food, etc. My daughter is a big fan of the spinach and ham breakfast croissant. I like how friendly the owner is and how it feels like a local hang out for people of all ages. Brings to mind the Cheers theme song... "You wanna be where you can see, people are all the same. Great coffee, nice cozy "local shop" feel. They have beer, wine, and coffee (from roaster Caffe Vita). My drink was a "Divinity" (white chocolate with toasted marshmallow). They even have a small "bar" you can sit at while enjoying your beverage. read more

I live nearby and try to support our local businesses as much as possible. The few times I've been in here, the service has been lackluster. No greeting or any sign of welcome, although not rude or unfriendly. It's a popular hangout, and while not busy when I've visited, the staff seemed more interested in chatting with the regulars than with creating new ones. The last time I was there I just wanted a regular drip coffee, which is self serve. The carafe was empty so she offered to make more. I wasn't in a hurry and wanted to check out the new art, so I happily waited. I'm not sure at what point my coffee was actually done, but after about 10 minutes I approached the bar to ask for an ETA. Sure enough, there was my coffee, already in my cup just waiting for me. It's a small place and I was visible at all times but at no point did anyone mention my coffee was ready. Very odd. The back patio is great and they have music so I'll likely be back, but it would be nice to feel like they actually wanted my business. read more

Small and intimate with a full range of drinks to enjoy. I ordered a chai latte which I enjoyed. Great place to go with a friend or two, but not set up for large groups which isn't a bad thing unless you go when the weather is good. Then you can hang out int he back area. Also, not really set up for family place which for single ladies like my friend and I, was a welcomed breather. We came here to support local business and change up our breakfast routine. Unfortunately, Bindlestick is really only a local coffee house with a very limited menu. I get it, it's a small place and there really is not a separate kitchen. What I don't get is the service. Yes, it is a local shop and locals do indeed know the people in the shop. However if the barista had paused her conversation with her friend at the bar for a moment, she would have realized that the 3 people standing in front of her were locals too. Breakfast was a panini and a yogurt parfait which took some time for her to prepare. They were OK, but nothing stellar. So expect small bites and relatively decent coffee as well as some nice art work. Do expect to repeat yourself about wanting to order food as she is ringing in your coffee and that a new customer is really of limited interest to this shop. read more

My partner and I stopped here after a hike. It's a narrow little neighborhood favorite, located right across from the train museum. The barista was warm and friendly, and patient with the obvious out-of-towners who took forever to choose which coffee they wanted. We got the Texican (a spicy mocha) and the Firecracker (another spicy option with caramel and brown sugar). They were both very tasty and warmed us up nicely on a chilly fall day. We were both partial to the Texican. We also split a yogurt parfait, which was about 16oz and full of delicious, hearty granola and fruit preserves. We noticed that they had a pretty cool selection of craft beer and a surprisingly large variety of ciders! There is a back patio for warmer days. Would definitely come back. read more

Bar meets coffee shop finally done right. If you are in town sightseeing this is a great spot to pop into for a few minutes. The Bindlestick sports a main drag location with charismatic store front, and a casual, unpretentious vibe. The pastry selection isn't huge and the service isn't always fast but, but they do sell sandwiches and the staff are friendly and usually game for some conversation. Don't fear for your palate, they serve fresh Cafe Vita and a variety of quality craft beers. The back patio is a perfect place to relax with a group, play with your kids, or enjoy your espresso after a hike or bike ride on a sunny day. If you are lucky you may even catch some live entertainment! There are a few regulars that tend to be somewhat protective of their "spots," especially in the morning so... fair warning. This is a cute little coffee shop across the street from the Railway Museum. This means that it's perfect for warming up before/after running around train tracks looking at trains. It also has a small selection of beer and three taps. Also, the three taps weren't just standard beers you see everywhere, (IE budweiser, bud light, and red hook) but three really random craft brews. I will never go back to this place. The barista was very unprofessional. I asked her about a type of drink on the menu and about a flavor I hadn't heard of before (almond mocha). Her responses were rude and had a little too much attitude. I ordered a 12oz white mocha. She told me, "I'm going to put this in a 16oz cup because we don't have any 12oz and I'm too lazy to get any. I've been lazy all day." The whole experience was painful to experience. The coffee wasn't half bad, but as long as she works there, I won't be back. read more

It could be cleaner. I ordered a beer that they had written on the board and the barista told me I needed to look at the bottles on the counter to see what they actually have, because they did not keep the board current. Ok so they did not have the beer so I ordered a single shot Americano............. and she charged $2.75... it was watery, apparently should have had a short size cup. I don't think Starbucks charges that much for a single shot of expresso. Others in the group had coffee too. We sat outside, it looked like the table had not been wiped for days! A the first time i stopped in here i had just started working nights and was grumpy and ready to bite anyone head of to get my crazy picky coffee specially after going to 3 other coffee shops in the area and spending 8bucks on dirt, not only did she make it correctly she helped putt me in a way better mood :-) for abbot half the price i now go in at least every other day to get my picky mocha or even a beer when i need to unwind after work (yes they have a great selection of beers and most of the Batista's are experts on them) i say if our in the area seeing the falls or the trains or a local who's never bin in u should stop in for a hot coffee or sandwich u wont regret it read more
