For now; This is going to be my go-to for good mexican foods. First time trying it after passing by it few times while exploring the area. Cool spot with outdoor dining area; service was good and the food was great. What we got: Camarones a la oaxaquena (4.5/5) I love camarones a la diabla; but this is what they have on the menu; did not dissapoint! Really good flavors. Carne a la mexicana (4/5) Really well seasoned flank steak and lots of flavor Tamale de amarillo (4/5) The tamales wrapped in the banana leaves was so good; the banana leaves gives it such a nice taste compared to the traditional tamales w/ corn husk. The margaritas was goid as well. Overall We will be back for sure!! Good food, good service, plus the outdoor dinning area so we can bring out pup; heck yea. The restaurant is very very inviting. We ate inside and it was cozy and loved that they had a tv to watch. We first ordered the chips and guacamole. They added lots of other salsa and they were so tasty. Be careful you don't fill up on the crispy chips. We ordered tacos. They didn't hold back on the meat. After leaving the historic train we found ourselves hungry for a quick bite. We were able to get seated right away on a weekend evening. The interior of this place was the perfect vibes for Halloween. Loved all the decor! The service was prompt and friendly. We were a bit confused about the chips and salsa situation. We weren't told about the self serve salsa bar so never knew we could go get salsa. I got a quesadilla with rice and beans. Had a pretty average experience here, but I guess that is to be expected when you walk into a random restaurant in a small town! I went with a friend on Halloween night after the wine train across the street. We were pretty hungry so just thought we'd walk in. They had plenty of tables open, which was great. They asked if we wanted chips and we said yes. They brought....just chips. We didn't see salsa on the menu, so we ordered $9 guac because we didn't want to eat plain chips. On our way out, we saw a salsa bar in the corner, completely in the dark. We would have never seen it on our own and were super confused why they wouldn't have mentioned it after seeing our untouched plain chips. The enchilada was fine. No significant flavor. Came out quickly. I didn't take leftovers because I didn't enjoy it very much. The ambiance was great- very fun! Kind of dark, but matched the Halloween vibe. I think our waiter was new. Not bad. I really liked the chips and guac here. The chips were thick and the guac was very fresh. I got the Enfrijoladas. It was really good, but it's $20 for one thin cut of steak (and fried tortillas which I didn't really like). Even though it was good, I honestly don't think I'd recommend anyone to get it because that's way too expensive for what you get. My husband got something with Mole sauce and his was good too, but it was the same situation. Outside patio was cute though. Such a cute spot in downtown Snoqualmie. I really liked the ambiance and the service was great. I love not having to ask for more water. The chips were so thick and the salsa bar was a happy surprise. The server asked straight off if we wanted guacamole and chips and I didn't hesitate. Now that is an upselling king ;) The food was quite tasty as well. I got enchiladas with cheese and verde. I would've liked it with camaron but that wasn't an option. This is not our area. We are from Renton but we were in the area doing our family pictures on a Saturday evening. We came here after because I saw a TikTok about how good it was! We were seated immediately even though it was pretty busy! As native Californians, we are pretty snobby about Mexican food, lol, and I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I'm sad it's so far from us actually! Best we have had since we moved here two years ago. Ok so we ordered drinks, I cannot remember what they were called but holy cow, the HEAVIEST pour I've had in a long time. Not complaining, but they were strong! I also had a Diet Coke and we had water too and they kept them full the entire time. For food, we ordered the guac (a must) and we loved the salsa bar. Great way to start dinner. Then appetizers we did the cheese empanadas, omg soo good!! Super cheesy and warm, with great texture. My husband ordered the torta and he really enjoyed it. He'd order again. I got the enmoladas and I looove mole. It was a slightly sweet sole, which is my absolute favorite. I could drink that sauce it was so yummy! Even the black beans and rice served with it were a great compliment to the dish. Our kids shared the chicken quesadilla plate and they were nice and full when we left. We truly enjoyed this place. Came in with a large party of 10 and was treated so kindly! Usually when I'm in big groups at restaurants the waiters are not very kind or personable, and honestly just seem to be done before even starting. However, our two waitresses who served us were simply amazing! So kind and attentive! Even with such a big party our drinks were always full and our food came out in a timely manor! We ended up here after an afternoon at Snoqualmie Falls. Wife and I love Oaxacan food, so what a treat to get to introduce my brother, and he was not disappointed. We sat outside and the service was very quick, attentive, and helpful. Sitting outside was nice with the mild weather, and we found a froggy sitting on the plant next to our table! I got enfrijoladas. They were very good, and the asada was perfect. I only wish the beans were a bit less watery. I like when they're more sticky. My brother got the enmoladas and loved it. Great flavor, and the mole was spot on. Wife got costillas en salsa verde and they were amazing. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the salsa was so flavorful, bright, and fresh. I got the pollo enchiladas in mole. The chicken inside tasted like it had been boiled in water and shredded. No spices or anything. The amount of salt I had to add was pretty ridiculous. The mole was tasty! I liked it enough to bump the review from two to three stars. The nachos were soggy within 5 minutes of getting to the table. Like having to use a fork to eat them soggy :( The horchata was pretty obviously a mix from the fact that it was all at the bottom of the glass and we had to mix it up ourselves... So strange to find out I've never written a review for this wonderful restaurant, despite hitting it up so many times with family over the years. It's almost a go-to when we're in the general area. Food is a really good value - and a nice change of pace from over-Americanized Mexican offerings. This Mexican joint is just a quick drive from Snoqualmie Falls. Inside's cozy and they've got covered outdoor seating too. Friendly and attentive staff. Empanadas? Skip 'em. They're more like filled tortillas. Stick to guac and chips. For our table, we also ordered some tacos, chilaquiles, grasshoppers, and some drinks. The Al Pastor tacos - nothing to write home about; the chilaquiles were just okay - good portion size though; chapulines - nicely seasoned if you can get over the mental block. The salsa bar didn't offer much variety this time, but the green salsa definitely brought the heat, while the pico de gallo stayed fresh and flavorful. Their drinks were winners - Jamaica drink was refreshing, and so were the mezcals and margaritas! Food's hit or miss, but worth a visit if you're in the mood for Mexican without breaking the bank. Oh boy, oh boy. This is a very good Mexican restaurant. Their specialty is Oaxacan region. We felt as if we were there. Music is 90s-early 2000s mexican rock. Ambiance is very family friendly. There are spots outside too. Heaters for winter :) Staff is fast, friendly and really helpful. I wanted one more nanche (mexican tiny fruit) on my drink and cream for my mole and they gladly help. Mezcal drinks are really good but our favourite was the special margarita. We ordered tostadas, sopitos (small sopes with beans and plantain yummy!), enmoladas, mole tamal, the mango sorbet, flan, and tacos. Everything was wonderful! Plenty on your dish. We had to get some back home. We've come back and it has been always a positive experience. They are open since 11.30am and they have people at that time, and some orders to go. Went here with my wife this past weekend as I was really excited by the reviews and food pictures. The food definitely matches the pictures shown but we both found the food sort of without flavor. It wasn't bad by any stretch but having been to mexico many times in my life, I was surprised it was missing such fun and colorful flavor By far the biggest downside for the restaurant is the service. We were never checked on or asked how we enjoyed the meal, we were sat at a table by ourselves in the middle of the restaurant with the sun going right at my face, and at one point I was even accused (maybe teased?) about spilling a bunch of crumbs on the floor. Extremely disappointed. We have eaten here at least a dozen times. Food and service has always been good, not great (the reason for 2 stars and not 1). We don't stray from what we know we like so typically get the chicken enchiladas. I get green sauce, he gets red. This time the enchiladas were cold, chewy, and way too much sauce. New cook? Not sure because no one checked in to see if we liked our meal. When we went to check out the young man had no personality. He ran our card for more than the total check amount with no explanation. I later saw on the receipt that they charge a 3% card transaction. I did not see anywhere where we received notification of this fee. Another bummer this time is that they were out of the IPA. Which happens but the brewery is right across the street. My date said we will not be back. But I think we will try again a few months down the road to see if this was a fluke. Reading through the reviews and only seeing opinions about the guacamole and chips was a concern for me but I've been wanting to try this place for a while. The carne asada street tacos were pretty good but really helps to pour their salsa all over it and add some of their roasted jalapeños. I did yearn for more salt on the guacamole and tacos though. To be fair, I don't know enough about what the flavors should be like. I'll probably go back to try other dishes though. read more
