Neighborhood favor, I've been eating here for years. My dad actually brought me and my sisters here when were just little girls. In my my opinion they have the best home made Turkey Burgers next to mines. (Wink) For anyone who wants a good quality Turkey Burger you need to come through. The menu is very simple and easy to read. They do offer Beef burgers if that's your thing. (Lol) The prices are very reasonable and you get a health potion of food. Like any other Burger stand. They do offer French fries, fried Zucchini and Onion rings. You can place your order over the phone or walk in. The lines aren't usually out the door, but it does get really busy. Everyone from the neighborhood eats here. The staff and cooks are hella chill and they take time to speak and start a conversation. I've never had any issues and I tell my family and friends all the time. So stop by and see what all the hype is about! read more

This place is usually my go to for a really good burger and often times even for a patty melt. Of course the onion rings are always good. The last few times I've been, and I've had their patty melt. However, it's been less than delicious. I have found them to be dry flavorless And unfulfilling. I'm not sure if they changed up their recipe, where their cook, but they need to give the option for Ryebread and they need to toast it on the cooktop with butter. Yes, I am telling them how to make their food in the event that they would like repeat customers who actually say their patty melts are delicious once again. I've been trying to expand my lunch horizons outside of my usual Asian chicken salad from Panera but it's proven to be difficult. Today I was feeling a bit adventurous and set out to try The Big Burger. As we walked in my friend and I were quickly greeted by the cashier, who we later found out was the owner. We asked about her best sellers and she referred us to their yelp page, which was pretty awesome! We both decided on the 1/3 turkey cheeseburger combo, which came with a drink and fries for under $6. All burgers come with mayonnaise, mustard, relish, onions, pickles, tomato and lettuce, which you can customize. The meat and bread are prepared on a daily basis, which is a plus in my book. And they catered to those looking for a light lunch with protein-rich options. While we waited for our food to arrive, we were thankful to have taken and early lunch because the lunch crowd seemed to all know about this hidden jewel and were quickly invading the small establishment. Our food arrived in no time and WOW! My turkey burger looked delicious and it was HUGE. Honestly I didn't know how I was going to eat the whole thing. The meat was juicy and the spices were all coming together to play a wonderful symphony in my mouth. Located in an inauspicious strip mall, just a little north of my local Ikea, I trusted yelp and went one sunny weekend with no cash. As soon as I walk in I see the two words any foodie hates, "CASH ONLY!" Damn you yelp! Four doors down was a 7-11 with an ATM, cash was had for a $2 fee. Big burger offered 1/4lb burgers up to burgers that weighed in over a pound. Proteins included beef, turkey, and surprisingly chicken. Following my heart (to its doom) I ordered a half pound beef burger with bacon, egg, cheese, and a small drink. I was surprised to see how busy this place was at 2pm on a Sunday! There was a steady stream of people in and out for the length of my stay. I have to go with the 4 stars on this burger place. They did a great amount of lunch time business with call-in orders and they have regulars. How could they not with $5 lunch specials that include fresh fries (relatively) and a medium drink? I got the chicken cheese burger (with no cheese) and I tend to get mine dry. Now this was a ground chicken burger and it didn't need to be swimming in sauce, it tasted great! Spiced just right and juicy enough. I paid approx. $6. The also have a variety of salads and other items like hot dogs and slices of cake. How about a $2 grilled cheese? Yes, it's a hole in the wall, the tables (pictured) are 2-seaters and they also have a counter. The A/C was the breeze from the door but they have a nice little corner here. This might become my home away from school -- on the days I'm not playing "toro" in the parking lot. It's a small and busy 7-11 lot with compact spaces and bad drivers. I've boarded the turkey train, but only at Fatburger and Big Burger The Restaurant, if you can call it such, is in the corner of a corner strip mall right across from CSU Dominguez. Yet there were no students during lunch. Apparently Cantonese-Chinese owned, the operator reminds me of Sonia Hong (Irv's) except not nearly as nice. The wax paper from a Chinese supplier first tipped me off. Patrons were predominantly African-American, all suffering from heat exhaustion as I was because there is no AC. Bygones. Damn fine burger. Anytime relish is an option in a burger...i'm sold! Big Burger serves up very fresh and juicy beef and turkey burgers. I've had both of them, and both are super tasty! I also had them with extra pickles and relish..yum! I asked for my fries "well done," because I only like extra crispy fries, wasn't a problem! Inside seating available, although I've only had take-out. Parking sucks! It's shared with about 5 other businesses and parking spots are super tight, so it's kind of a mission to get in/out unless you get lucky. Today I ate at Big Burger for the 2nd time. I had wanted to post a review but I ate their so long ago I need to refresh my memory so I decided to stop their today. BIg Burger is located in the 7-11 mini mall across from Cal State Dominguez. The parking lot for this mini mall is terrible. It is a small lot with lots of spaces and narrow passage. That alone will probably keep me from coming here too often. I ordered the Cheese Burger Combo with everything. The combo includes fries and a drink. I have to say I like the burgers. They have that home made taste to them. The meat is really juicy and ingredients seem fresh. Overall a good, tasty burger. Much better then Five Guys. The fries were ok. nothing special. Typical frozen fries that are sold at most burger stands. I like Big Burger. Good place to grab a burger if your in the area. read more

Iwalked in and the place. There were no customers but they were still working like crazy and pre-carry lots of food. I ordered the cheeseburger combo with crispy fries. The cheeseburger very moist and a very generous size. The fries did not seem crispy to me, this comes with a fountain drink. While I waited for my food, one by one more and more customers kept coming is until the place was almost full. After tasting the burger, I understand why this places reputation is so high. All the burgers are homemade, so they're very tasty and it's pretty good! I think the customer service could've been better and so could the wait for the food. I was disappointed by their version of "crispy", but if you still had any left and ate them cold, they are still a bit Crisp. Probably 8 out of 10 customers came after me, ordered the turkey burger. I called but the guy informed me they don't take chili cheese fries orders over the phone(I'm not sure why) So I went in, the place is right on the city of Avalon and Victoria St. It's located in a small shopping center that has a Fish Market and a 7 eleven . It's a small place but they do have an area for you to sit and eat. Once I placed my order they began to cook the fries so it was fresh. I got a medium (which is really a small) and it was Four dollars and some change. I was really hungry and wanting to try this place out for quite some time. I ordered the Big burger with fries and all of a sudden the chili cheese dog sounded good too so I ordered that. They were prepared quickly and in no time I was chowing down on an extremely delicious juicy burger. I got a fried egg to go in it and Mmmmmm, my mouth is drooling all over again. The fries were good. Just the typical french fries. They did have some sort of powder to pour on top. It was a red fry seasoning with salt. The chili cheese dog was ok. I was a bit disappointed with the chili. Overall, this place is good... open until 10... although they started flickering and turning off the lights at 10 minutes to 10. I will definately go back. We finally decided to try this place out and I'll sTart by saying what a freaken disappointment. There was absolutely no taste in the burger (bland) Why do they call it the big burger? Who knows! Our burgers looked like we had ordered a jr. burger. Plus, they charge .65 cents to refill your drink when your cup is filled with ice to the rim. Customers service was horrible. I honestly really like their turkey burgers, but I tried calling in a takeout order twice at 10:35 on a Friday night and they didn't answer. After I decided to stop by and see for myself if they had already closed, I came to find that they were in fact still open. I asked why they don't answer the phone and the cashier told me that they stop taking orders 30 minutes prior to closing. Doesn't make sense to me, but it's their loss since they have to stay longer.
