The standing room was originally a stand and eat place off the beach and this is their sit down restaurant. They have a great selection of burgers and sandwiches. I can only get the burgers when I know I'm absolutely starving or I wouldn't be able to finish it. The burgers I had in the past were all super delicious. I love the ones with the fried egg! You can never go wrong. So thinking that a burger would be a big commitment and wanting something I can also box up, this time I got a braised beef plate. It ended up being the biggest dish of all lol It felt like the main dish was the Brussels sprouts and the side was the braised beef lol but personally I preferred it that way! It was such a perfectly balanced plate. Underneath the beef hid the rice. You got a refreshing edamame salad, the hefty Brussels sprouts, home fried potatoes, and two gyoza dumplings lol that was super random but I loved it! If you're a meat lover, it may bum you out, but for me, I thought it was the perfect blend. I took the left overs and had another meal later! Can't wait to go back!

Also, looks like they got rid of their fountain drinks and just have cans. You are WAY better off going to Corner Burger in Lawndale or Proudly Serving / Rebel Republic in Redondo for a much better burger experience. Or even the smash burger at Salt & Pearl. Heck, even the Islands Burgers are more flavorful and have better fries! Will not be back.
I must have been starving because I ordered the Napoleon--a burger with a huge piece of short rib in the middle. It was amazing! However, I had to take the big piece of short rib out of the burger because it was just impossible to eat that way. It also came with an order of Parmesan fries right in the middle--delicious! I probably won't be hungry for another week. My daughter's chicken nuggets were good, and I'll probably be getting those next time. All she cared about were the fries, and she was very satisfied. I would definitely recommend this place! The best part? The staff was amazing. I ordered my burger for pickup over the phone, and the young lady who took my order was incredibly sweet. She even gave me recommendations. When I arrived, my order was ready, and she personally greeted me. I also got to speak with the chef, who jokingly said he'd see me tomorrow! It was a great experience, and you just can't beat that.
We were in the mood for burgers...and if you're hunkering for a hunk of burger, this is the place to go! A cozy little place nestled between Wahoo's and Chicken Dijon on Torrance Blvd, the vibe is relaxed and the staff is friendly and welcoming. They were helpful with our dietary restrictions and the food was delicious. Don't expect your food to be kicked out in a hot second; this isn't fast food, the chef knows what he's doing and an excellent burger is worth the wait. The only thing I didn't love was the onion rings; they had a little more breading on them than I usually like but otherwise the meal was thoroughly enjoyable. Will be back!
This visit was a 3-Star experience but with hindsight I would have made a few changes and it could be a 4-Star experience, so rating 4 stars. The Standing Room has multiple locations, one that is almost on Redondo Beach and another one that is about 3 miles inland (same plaza as Tomo Sushi). All of the food items seem optimized for Instagram, but the burgers can get messy once you start eating. We selected the Dressed another and got the side of Brussel Sprouts with Habanero Cream. The Dressed Burger comes with bacon, spring mix, caramelized onions, bleu smoked gouda, fried egg, Korean aioli, and tomato jam. The Onions were one of strongest flavors, perhaps needed more tomato jam or aioli to balance. Good portion size. The spring mix was slightly wet (or it got steamed) and so that made it easy to slide apart and get messy, the caramelized onions likely also contributed. I did not know there was bleu smoked Gouda cheese in there, and could see a cheddar working with the bacon and onions. Brussel sprouts came with generous habanero cream on top, but it was more creamy than spicy, I couldn't tell it was habanero at all. Cooking was on point, some nice crispy browning with the inside still moist, it just needed a more dominantly flavored spread.
Came here around opening on a Sunday afternoon and I was their first customer. Ordered and food came out fresh and quick. I asked for bunless and they put it in a bowl for me. Was kinda like a salad with a burger patty on top. It was quite delicious! Free parking in lot.

Truffle Parmesan Fries are always a must and never leave with out ordering them. Close to the mall and other nearby eateries/ restaurants. A must to check out if your are a foodie
My family and I were in the area and extremely hungry for some burgers. I looked on my account and realized I already had this place on my to-go list and it was around the corner. We had so much trouble deciding what we wanted because there were so many good options on the menu. The staff was really nice and helped us with any questions we had and even gave us tips and pointers on the menu. We ordered the Napoleon Burger, the Cash Burger, and the Karage Chicken. Both of the burgers were really good and the Napoleon is definitely a burger for two people. I knew it came with fries but I had no idea the whole bed of fries was inside the burger. The flavors of both burgers blended together really well and I would definitely recommend them to others. The Karage Chicken had a crispy exterior and juicy tender interior. We have to make our way back so we could try more things on their menu.
Got the chance burger. Was really good but thought it was a bit too spicy for me. The burger was stacked so I ended up using a fork and knife to eat it lol. The fries were also super crispy! Service was fast and friendly. There's indoor seating and outdoor patio. However the patio seemed to be a bit loud due to the street noise. Board games were available as well.
Place is Great! Food is Good and the Staff was awesome! The Cook was super cool and accommodating! Must try if you're around the neighborhood.
Best burger of my life. Tried the dressing and Cash burgers. Both delicious. The fusion of flavors is so fun and unique. The very friendly cashier also informed us that they can provide meat alternative options, including portobello mushrooms. I may try that next time. They also seem to encourage hang outs- games and books were set up. So great place to bring friends and really hang out. Highly recommend for all categories. Will return!!
This was my first time at the Standing Room and I liked how their menu had a lot of different options. The staff was helpful and offered some recommendations for us which was nice. The food also did not take long after being ordered. The restaurant was empty when we came around 2pm on a Sunday so nothing to worry about regarding seating since they dont have that many tables inside. I got the Charlotte sammy, with the coleslaw on the side. The bread was really soft and grilled nicely, the pulled pork was a bit tough for my liking, but the coleslaw was really good. My sister got the Bully and I thought it didn't have enough meat and kimchi compared to bread ratio but it was okay. My dad got the classic burger and that was solid! We also got the truffle fries and sweet potato fries which were my favorite items. Not sure if I would come back, but if I did I would get the truffle fries or sweet potato fries, and maybe try a salad or burger.
When I have a craving for a burger, I want a BURGER. But I would come here for a quality burger, not quantity. I've tried their other location and I like the small business feel of the place. The shishito peppers are good, very greasy though and the sauce wasn't anything unique, it did the job. The burgers are good, every time I come back, I'm reminded how a lot of the options seem to be on the sweeter side and I'm personally a savory burger gal. Maybe this is a sign to bring my own hot sauce. Anyways, this is a good place to support, just gotta be in a specific craving. read more
Place is great for a quick bite. Casual ambiance. Ate here dinner time and we ordered the Classic Burger which was beef burger pattie with shredded lettuce, pickles, slice of tomato, american cheddar cheese with thousand island dressing It came out quick and we added an order of fries served on a cast iron skillet and little cups of catsup. Friendly staff and cook got good marketing skills...see you again tomorrow. read more

This was the cash burger has been my favorite for 10 years plus, I used to go to the original one in Redondo Beach but once they open this one closer to home and to the mall walking distance, everything here is super delicious. People are super nice. They must try. read more

Have heard about this place for YEARS, gave it a try tonight. Absolute disaster. Time between placing order and delivery was 27 minutes, FAST for a Friday. Truffle fries....cold and dry, consistency..damp cardboard. All of them, the side and those served with burgers. Wife ordered a Sammy, asked for bacon on side wrapped separately (nitrite allergy). No bacon on Sammy OR on the side. Also added sliced avocado to Sammy, didn't get that either. Son and I ordered Napoleons. Fries nasty. Burger cold.favor bland, expected more, has to use lots of salt to be halfway enjoyable. Ordered a side of Pan Roasted Edamame. Sounds amazing. Can't give a report on quality or flavor.....never arrived in the order. Called the place and asked Louise to please deliver the missing side and replace the cold fries, his response was "come get it". I said "I ordered delivery because I didn't want to drive anywhere for dinner". His response was "we're busy, come get it or call us tomorrow" then hung up on me. Completely FLOORED! By FAR the WORST meal and service I have EVER experienced. We were VERY hungry before ordering, pic below is 54 minutes after meal was delivered. I ate half of mine(left) simply because I was hungry. Wife took a bite, said wasn't worth the price then went to bed. Then plate on far right is my sons, said fries were nasty, short rib was dry and tuff and burger was bland, no longer hungry now. If you are on a diet and struggle with impulse control this is the place, looks and sounds great, you won't eat much of it. Unfortunately forced to leave a star, 1/4 or 1/8th star is more appropriate. read more

This is definitely our new favorite burger joint now. Server and the chef were super friendly and welcoming. The brussel sprouts is a must get sharable item( super crunchy and goes perfect with their creamy habanero sauce). The Parmesan truffle fries were crispy and unsalted which we loved. The fries are on the thinner side which makes it more crispy but satisfied with one time experience. The Chance Burger definitely has a spicy kick from the jalapeños. Both burger and sammie were finger licking good!!! Portions are just unbelievably huge. I don't think we'll be eating for the next two days. If you're in the area and craving something heavy yet delicious, this is the spot. read more
Many years ago, I visited the original Standing Room located in the back of a liquor store in Redondo Beach. Super impressive yet, I have not returned there since it was out of my way. Made a stop at this Torrance location, to pick up dinner. Remembered how amazing the Ca$h burger was and got that for the mister. It has bacon, shishito peppers, American and cheddar cheese, crispy peppered onion, Korean aioli, hoisin BBQ. The mister was very impressed! I got the Classic burger with a plant based patty. The Classic shredded lettuce, sans the onion, tomato, American and cheddar cheese, and lastly Thousand Island. Perhaps I went too basic and give just a 3. Not wowed. I've had 4 star plant based burgers at fast food burger places. Next time, I will try something else- either something on the Sammies menu or the Ca$h with a plant based patty. Truffle parmesan fries were good although they lost their crisp during a-not-very- long 15 minute vehicle trip! I liked the fries a lot better than the Classic burger. Service was courteous and efficient. You order at the kiosk and they text or call out your order when done. Also, they will cook your burger at medium unless you specify otherwise. I'm sure we'll be back at some point, just not anytime soon though. read more

What a shame! Loved this place before they closed and was looking forward to their reopening. Got their poke nachos that used to be so good but now prices have gone up and quality has gone down! 7 pieces of tuna and 4 pieces of avocado. More jalepeno than anything. So disappointed! read more

Under new management (same ownership) - lovely service! TSR Momma cares and it shows. (The previous cook/worker with the unhappy vibes is gone it seems.) They've updated their menu and added morning coffee and breakfast options. Burgers were juicy, delicious and fries were perfect. We received a fun freebie - the Brussels sprouts. Going to order these every time going forward. All pieces were amazing and crispy. Perfect roasty texture and flavor. Great experience. I'm happy they've reopened and am looking forward to coming all the time. read more

The food is great. The reason to my 3 stars is because the employees don't know how their own online ordering works. I ordered a Hawaiian breakfast and a quesadilla. The quesadilla was perfect my daughter loves it but for my breakfast item I specifically clicked the no sausage option as I don't care much for regular sausage. But when I received my order there was no Portuguese sausage inside and I went and called them to let them know that there was an issue and the girl who answered tells me it was specified. If you look at the picture I attached it's clearly specified in the options provided by them! You guys need to train your workers to be more knowledgeable of your own services so issue like this don't happen. She even stated to me there nothing she can do on her end. SMH. And if you're wondering how much my breakfast plate alone was it was $15 and Al I received was 2 pieces of bacon and 2 pieces of spam rice eggs and toast. read more
Torrance Food Crawl #390 This is the second location for The Standing Room, mainly serving pork-themed sandwiches and burgers. There are a few tables inside and more tables outside on the Torrance Blvd side. The Classic Burger (https://bit.ly/3xuE0kN) is an American-style burger with a good quality meat patty, on a brioche bun, with classic American toppings like shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, American cheese, cheddar cheese, and Thousand Island dressing. This is probably the best burger choice if you want a good, basic burger similar to what you expect a "normal" burger to be. (5/5) At the other extreme is a burger with aspirations to include everything, to the point of excess, the Napoleon burger (https://bit.ly/37uK9Tv). I have to look at the menu to remember everything it contained: a hamburger patty, brioche bun, braised short rib, bacon, spring mix salad, caramelized onions, American cheese, cheddar cheese, smoked gouda, a pile of truffle parmesan fries, a fried egg, Korean aioli, and tomato jam. There's so much stuff piled on this burger, it was served with a wooden spike through it, and you'll end up using a knife and fork to eat it, unless you want to create a mess trying to eat it by hand. It was good, but sometimes too much of a good thing is not for the best. (3/5) There are as many sandwich options as there are burger options. The Bully Sammie (https://bit.ly/3rT3XZR) had a Korean theme, with bulgogi, kimchee, shishito peppers, caramelized onions, and melted American and cheddar cheese. A little messy, but good. (4/5) The Oscar Sammy (https://bit.ly/3iiWW1r) had chopped up softshell crab, onion, avocado, crab mayo, and bubu arare (a very tiny round rice cracker) scattered on top. This sandwich is a little different in ingredients than most but does have a slight taste of the sea, which is good. (5/5) A temporary special, Hot Dog Sliders (https://bit.ly/3ijb4aP), was a pleasant discovery. Two small Nathan's beef dogs with sliced jalapeños, bacon bits, caramelized onions, and habanero cream. I'll be sure to try this again, perhaps in the three dog size. (5/5) Service has always been polite and prompt. To-go items are well packaged. Items are a little pricy, but not excessively so. Yay they have opened a new location in Torrance! If you're a lover of delicious burgers, I highly recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area. We got the Napoleon: it's the biggest of them all! Braised short rib, bacon, spring mix, caramelized onion, American, cheddar, smoked gouda, fried egg, aioli, tomato jam and FILLED with truffle parmesan fries! Let me just say that this is just huge, it's great for sharing (5/5) Overall, flavors are spot on, and also all patties are cooked to medium (that's what they recommend) unless you specify at the counter. Prices are reasonable, credit cards are accepted, and there's plenty of parking! read more
