The place is small but just enough parking for anyone to park. Service was quick and me and my wife loved our order of cheeseburger and Turkey burger, love the fries with season salt to help yourself with shaking over the fries, they had a Tv , while waiting for your food. My son & I were on our own for dinner and he wasn't much help deciding what to get so I thought of Big Burger by CSU Dominguez. Not much of a parking lot and a ton of lousy drivers in the neighborhood but I rolled the dice and called in an order. Bingo, lot was open but one of those crappy drivers almost hit me pulling out without looking from 7-11. Then they had the nerve to mad dog me! Oooo the thoughts running through my mind. What's great about this place is they serve genuine burgers, well seasoned like the ones I grew up eating in the midtown/Crenshaw Square area. Really soulful burgers. I went with the Big Burger loaded & my son got the Collossal (Yeah that's how they spell it there)Burger w/pastrami in it. Added a side of fries & onion rings as well. Both sides were fried just right in fresh oil avoiding that nasty aftertaste you get at places too cheap or lazy to change it. The burgers hit the spot and left me in a great mood for whatever else the evening holds. Thumbs up Big Burger. This spot is the truth! The turkey burgers are perfectly seasoned and not that flat processed patty and it's never dry. Always served fresh because they absolutely don't cook your order until you order it. The folks are very nice and friendly. My brother went to this establishment and purchased two turkey burgers and one garden burger the garden burger be for me because I am a vegetarian when my brother gave me the burger the bag clearly states garden burger when I bid into the burger it was obviously a turkey burger I went to ask my brother if he got the burger from the same place we had got it from the week prior. I told him I think he ate my garden burger and they gave me his turkey burger I tried to call and no one answered the phone so the next day when they open I went up there and they said it was my fault and I didn't have enough evidence for them to do anything about it so I then went home to go get the burger in the bag the burger came in the bag clearly states garden and the burger was clearly a turkey burger. This has been a place I have long come to for a delicious turkey burger experience. Yesterday I stopped by to rehash them old taste buds/memories and grabbed one after feigning for one for some time now. I noticed a change as soon as I walked through the door however. No one was there ordering and nothing was cooking on the grill. Two men were standing at the grill looking at the Tv and for the first time ever, (that I have seen), there were empty boxes piled from floor to ceiling in the dining chairs. I chose to eat at the counter and had to clean the counter top myself from left over ketchup stains and food debris. However, I did it still, no judgements or opinions. Just happy to be back to a place I once thoroughly enjoyed. I was a little shocked as to the taste (seasoning) and over all presentation of my Double Turkey burger this time however. I am chalking it up as maybe just an off day. But, my burger this time was not enjoyable, nor my onion rings, (heavily breaded). I know things change over time. Definitely not the same burger that I was used to as a young adult. The bread seemed a bit old and dry. The burger was off and my husband said the same. The fries were not the original fries that I was used too. They were seasoned fries or maybe fried in dirty grease. I'm used to sprinkling seasoning salt at the counter on freshly fried potatoes as before; that's what I was actually looking forward to. But now I feel like all of our hamburger stands have adapted this new seasoned fry and they are awful. Is it to save money on supplies like seasoning salt? I will not be going back. read more
