Last Saturday morning my wife and I had the pleasure of having breakfast at the BIG Biscuit on Glenstone. Our meal came to us promptly served by a young man named Ryan who could not have been more friendly and accommodating. He was very attentive and took a personal interest in our breakfast experience. Absolutely delicious food with even better service. Our waitress was so warm and welcoming answered all of our questions as this was our first visit. I ordered The Kitchen Sink, a pancake, and a coffee. The Boss ordered the Pancake Platter and an Iced Salted Caramel Ice Cofall the food was great. Fluffy pancakes and warm syrup was the winner! This was by far the best breakfast we've had in quite some time. Our server, Oliver, was excellent and had a great personality. We had several different dishes and all were fantastic. The biscuits are so light and fluffy. DEFINITELY get the sticky biscuit! We got one for the table to share and it worked out perfectly. Good service - the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is great and I usually can get two meals from one breakfast. I had the seasonal pumpkin pancakes, two and the are large! My husband has had the biscuits and gravy and the breakfast bowl - both very good. Prices are reasonable considering the amount of food. I will mention ambiance but this is a restaurant in a strip mall but there is ample space and we have never had an issue getting seated immediately. Yep. I like it here. It's great when most other places in town are done serving breakfast, the Big Biscuit saves the day. I've eaten here a handful of times, and I wish they would have more locations than just the two in strip malls on the south side. I was very impressed the first couple times. Impressed with the speed of service, the amount of food for the price, and the fact that they use that good Sonic style ice. In visits since, the portions have gotten smaller and the service has been much more lax. I ordered an omelette that the kitchen made into some sort of scramble, so I had to wait for it to get remade. The biscuit on the side was cold and had been sitting out for a while so it fell apart when I tried to butter it. The tables are very close together which makes for awkward interactions with your neighbors. The setup of this restaurant is a little unusual as a whole...the décor is fake weathered to look old, and there is a huge bar along the back wall that I'm not sure is actually for seating. I also don't see much advertisement for them. Maybe it's just me, but I haven't heard commercials or gotten flyers in the mail...it's like they are banking on word of mouth to stay in business. It's not a cheap diner style place to eat, but it's pretty basic simple food with someone for everyone. Plus you can put your name on the list with Yelp ahead of time. We love this place! We've been in the Springfield area for about 2 years and we've made the rounds of breakfast places. BB is the winner! Quality of food, speed of service...they excel at every turn. Awesome breakfast spot! We stopped in on a Saturday, late morning. It was pretty crowded. For a party of 4, we had about a 10 minute wait. I ordered a blueberry waffle with eggs and sausage. The waffle was amazing! Only (minor) issue was that all of the blueberries were in the center of the waffle. The sausage is fresh, hand patties. They are on the smaller side. We ordered biscuits and gravy for the table to try. There was no "wow" factor. Being that it is what the restaurant advertises, I expected more. Stopped here on the way out of town after spotting previous Yelp reviews and pictures. While the food and service were just fine (nothing spectacular, but just fine), I will say that the biscuit and gravy was the best I have ever had ANYWHERE. I did not find their portions to be "huge" but rather average. The breakfast sausage patties appeared to be homemade and one of the ones I received was small and thin and had a hole in it. Kind of weird but ok. For a bacon & cheddar omelet breakfast, a Big Breakfast and one drink, our total was $25.50. Very average in my opinion. This KC chain has found a home in Springfield, MO. This place was super busy when we were there...thank goodness for the online wait list! The dining room is filled with a lot of tables that are just a little too small for a party of 4...once the food arrived it was a really crowded table. The server was alright...wish he would have written down our orders - got them mostly right...wrong eggs on one order. The servings were generous and the biscuits are HUGE. My omelet was ok...a little more cheese and it would have been better. The only problem I had was that the biscuit crumbled in my hands so it was difficult to butter and just as hard to eat. Been here a couple of times. The only reason I will not give 5 stars is because the last time we went I signed up on the waitlist online. Wait time was 35-48 minutes. I specifically ensured I put my name down on the correct location. When we got there 30 minutes later I was told I w as not on the list. I showed the confirmation txt and host stated "oh that's our other location on Campbell". We were in a crunch time because my husband had a flight to catch but we rushed over to the Campbell location. When we arrived (surprise) we were not on their list either; however, we informed the hostess that we had just came from the other location because they stated we were on this list she sat us down right away. Had I known that she had stated that I would of called the original location because I knew I was right . I think they may have called our name and since we were not there they must of took our name off and didn't let us know. Seemed like they brushed us off and sent us to the other location. Because of that my husband missed his flight and had to be rebooked for a later flight due to us having to drive an extra 10-15 min to next location. I ordered way too much! The half platter looks gigantic! It's a lot more food than you think. I should've gotten the quarter. The biscuits are humongous. But it was overall very tasty. I recommend the breakfast potatoes. They're actually pretty good even though they don't look it. I also like the upbeat 80s pop they play. Also, warning, the ketchup is sweeter than what I'm used to. It's not Heinz. I also find that's it's really cold inside. The sausage is ok. With the biscuits and gravy, you won't detect anything. Been in a couple of times now with the Lady. Really like this place for breakfast and love that we can check in on the yelp app. Makes the wait easier and can plan our visit while we are out and about. I really like their waffles and the lady really likes their big breakfast. Probably my only complaint is that the gravy for the biscuits and gravy seems a bit bland to me. Nothing terrible but given the name I had built up my expectations and was let down slightly. We do like this place and will be back. The Good Largish menu with lots of options. Great waffles. We were excited to see The Big Biscuit is now in Springfield. We went about 8 AM on Tuesday morning and there was only one other occupied table. Wow! We ordered the loaded sticky biscuit to share and it was every bit as wonderful as I remembered. DH had bacon and eggs. I ordered bacon, eggs, and grits...yum! So nice to have grits again and they arrived piping hot. Eggs were cooked perfectly...no burned, scorched edges! Service was great.
