My family's favorite is place for soondubu for so many years at this point. We love to come here for dinner and it still tastes amazing. The seafood soondubu and the beef soondubu are our go to's. It's in the Assi supermarket so it's super convenient to have dinner here and then grocery shop!

    What a deal!

Love this place! They are located inside the Assi Korean mega store. You can find them in the small food court they have there. They used to be the owners at Tofu Kitchen which was our go to spot for Korean tofu soup. So glad I found them!! They expanded their menu and have a large variety of Korean soups, stews, and other yummy Korean dishes. They give generous portion for the price point. The banchan they give are tasty and fresh as well. Recently tried their dumpling soontofu, korean pancake (pahjun), and fried fish! Everything was cooked well and tasted great. I'm super picky on my pahjun and they nailed it! They loaded it up with the seafood filling and it had a nice crunch around the edges of the pancake. This family run business is a solid one. Owners are friendly and helpful. Jay is great! If you're looking for a great value and korean soups, stews, and bbq then you gotta check out The Bibimbop & BBQ! You can tell lots of love go into their dishes.

The Bibimbab & BBQ is a food court stall located inside Assi Plaza's Suwanee location on Old Peachtree Road, not far from I-85 exit 109. We were originally looking for Cottage House (https://www.yelp.com/biz/cottage-house-suwanee), but couldn't find it (it's perhaps now closed), so we found this place instead. It was good. Quick, casual Korean comfort food. I created the Yelp listing for this business in July 2017, but according to staff, the business has been around for almost a year. It opened on September 1, 2016. The Bibimbab & BBQ is one of about a half-dozen options inside Assi's food court. The business name gets pretty much to the point of what this restaurant serves which is authentic Korean bibimbap (mixed rice) and BBQ. They also serve other traditional Korean dishes such as soups and stews, including over a dozen varieties of tofu soup, cold noodles, other items like seafood pancake and squid over rice. The food is affordably priced with most items each about $10 or less and the most expensive items $13-14 each. We stopped by for dinner and ordered: A16. Hot stone bibimbab with bulgogi (sliced marinated rib eye) - $11.99 D6. Chilled buckwheat noodles served in an icy cold broth - $7.99 The bibimbab (or bibimbap) was very good. It was served in a genuine stone bowl that was very hot so the ingredients were still cooking inside the bowl. It was sizzling, crackling, and popping. Along with rib eye steak and white rice, other ingredients included an egg, carrots, zucchini, bean sprouts, mushrooms, and other vegetables topped with sesame seeds. It was a solid bowl of bibimbap with fresh and flavorful ingredients. We waited a bit before mixing to allow some of the rice and other ingredients to be cooked against the sides of the bowl. Sometimes, the best part of bibimbap are the charred and hardened pieces of rice that have been left to cook against the bowl. We were asked how we'd like our egg cooked (we chose over easy). This is one of the few places I've been to which asks customers how they'd like their bibimbap egg to be cooked. Most Korean restaurants just cook it sunny side up. The bibimbab was served with a squeeze bottle of hot sauce (gochujang) and a small bowl of warm miso broth. A bowl of chilled buckwheat noodles (mul naengmyeon) is one of my favorite Korean comfort foods and The Bibimbab & BBQ's version really hit the spot for me. A lot of folks say this is a great summertime dish because of its ice cold broth, but I think it's just as delicious and satisfying in the winter too. Along with noodles and broth, other ingredients included half a hard-boiled egg, slices of cucumber, Korean pear, and pickled radish, and sesame seeds. What the cold noodles were missing (and my only real knock on this place) was sliced beef. The menu said this was included, but there was no beef in my bowl. Oh well. It was still tasty. If you've never had mul naengmyeon before, I highly recommend it. Be sure to ask for vinegar and spicy mustard. I like to add a lot which makes the broth addictively tangy and spicy. Mmm... Naengmyeon noodles are chewy, so they are typically cut with scissors prior to serving. At sit-down restaurants, this is usually done by the server. Here, a pair of scissors is served with the bowl of noodles on your tray, so you cut the noodles yourself. Banchan (small side dishes included with the meal) included kimchi, bean sprouts, and tiny whole fish with jalapeno. While the banchan selection was limited (three dishes) compared to a customary Korean sit-down restaurant, what banchan there was was delectable. The Bibimbab & BBQ has complimentary hot and iced barley tea at the counter and there's a complimentary water dispenser for the food court (in the back, towards the restrooms). Our server was Spencer and he was an amiable and friendly guy. He spoke English well (at some of these stalls, there can be a language barrier). All in all, The Bibimbab & BBQ turned out to be a nice find and a pleasant surprise. Our food and overall experience turned out to be better than I expected from this grocery store food court.

I came across this place just by accident. It's in assi supermarket food court. I ordered beef intestine tofu soup , and I was so surprised how good the food was. It's one of the best tofu soups I have had. It's very affordable too

This hidden gem is my go to lunch spot at least once a month. Their hot stone Bibimbab is phenomenal. All ingredients are super fresh. They mix up the side dishes offered and there's always one good surprise when you get your meal. The kimchi spicy pickles are by far my favorite.

The shrimp were delicious and prepared just like I'm used to. This dish is lightly battered fried shrimp with a soy sauce bases sauce with red pepper and black pepper spices. It also features other sautéed veggies like green peppers and onions. The shrimp were spiced nicely, but also had the flavor of black pepper coming through. A lot of places don't get that right. The perfect mix of that spice red pepper heat and hint of black pepper are exactly why I love about this dish. The shrimp were fried perfectly and the veggies deliciously sauted. The Haemul Jjampong was a flavor and spice bomb. The broth was so flavorful and had a great essence of the seafood in it (squid, mussels, abalone). This soup is also for people not afraid of the spice...it was SPICY, but no so much that it was unenjoyable. The spice complemented the flavor and I loved it. The take-home of the leftovers was just as good the next day! If I had to say anything that they might think of changing, would be the addition of kimchi to the banchan. The banchan was ddanmuji (pickled radish, raw white onions, marinated white onion slivers, and soy marinated peanuts). A little plate mat kimchi to wrap around the Jjampong noodles would be perfection.

Otherwise you'll end up in the gas station. First of all, this place is HUGE compared to the other locations. Super clean, new furniture, it's just pleasant to be there. Really generous with the banchan. I love the banchan there, it's 4 different kinds but all of them complement the food you eat. I was on a tear last night. Ordered the teokbokki as an appetizer. Then went with the soondubu ramen combination with beef bulgogi. First of all, the ramen is definitely a big portion, combined with the tofu it's a lot. Medium spicy is good enough unless you like sounding like you're a recovering drug addict. My goodness. I took the ramen noodles out so I could make sure I had broth left. Ate very slowly because the picked radishes were so good and the kimchi cucumbers were also killer. The teokbokki was tasty, but nothing special. Price is good, sharing is fine. But in the future I love the combo idea because you get a small skillet of beef, onions, and peppers. Sweet and savory, paired with the ramen soondubu it's a LOT. We took the rice cakes home. I can't speak any higher about the cleanliness and service here. They all pitch in, and I wonder if they knew I was going to write something because I took so many pics. Either way I believe this is the best place for tofu stew in the OTP area. Support small businesses! I'll be back!
