Not a bad place to grab lunch, but not really a good one either. Diner atmosphere is pretty good and the service is good. Friendly staff. The reason for only giving 2 stars is the food. Again, it's not really bad, but it's not quite good either. It is consistently disappointing. I brought my family here for lunch and was disappointed. I have eaten here twice in last year for work lunches and both times I was disappointed. Once with a turkey sandwich and once with a burger. I am pretty sure that they purchase the filling for the pies they are so proud of in big plastic buckets from Cisco. I think that because I saw a big stack of buckets beside the restaurant that were labeled "berry pie filling ". The only thing that this place has going for it is the distinction of being the only restaurant within 15 miles of a paper mill. read more

The BEST scrumptious bacon, onion and cheese omelette anywhere! The hash browns were cooked to perfection-- it is surprising how other places can overcook/improperly cook hash browns. Hats off to the Berry Patch's chef!!! And when you get toast, it comes with their jam...not that prepackaged stuff. And the coffee wasn't bitter or burnt tasting like at the place I had lunch at yesterday. The Berry Patch's coffee was pleasantly good, leaving you wanting your cup refilled. My favorites for breakfast are the corned beef hash or their bacon omelets and the burgers or the ruben are also very good. Just make sure you finish with pie their specialty. read more

The owners of the place first made jam from Oregon wild blackberries and then as the business was taking off then branched out and decided to open a restaurant. They started small, but now operate a restaurant that seats 68 people. Food was good, American home style grub. It fits the needs of little town like Westport perfectly. We had burgers with salad and French fries and both were really good. I would recommend increasing its selection of beers. At this time they have three kinds, Bud, Bud Light, and Windermere Hefeweizen. The last one is a great brew and I really was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. They have pies to go. Portions were so big we had no room for pie. And they have a little store with razor clam condensed soups, salmon chowder, many kinds of jams that they make now, which I got one off, and it is just right combo of sugar and fruit. The guests were diverse from obvious locals to touristy looking couples. Good people watching place. I would go back for sure and not only because that is the only place in town to eat out at. read more

Possibly the worst place ever entered! Cant even give a review of the joint due to the fact we walked out! We sat for over 10 minutes... no one acknowledged us! Granted I will say there were 6 tables eating their dinners, so that must be slammed for them. They did state as we're headed out "sorry, we're really busy she was just getting to you". I used to always stop here for their pies, huckleberry in particular! First couple of experiences were really great, I loved the taste, the crust, the filling, it was amazing. But it seems like the quality has been dwindling over time. At first I thought that perhaps it was a fluke, but then it turned into a pattern. Last time I stopped here I grabbed my favorite huckleberry of course. When I tried it I immediately noticed a very funky flavor, it tasted quite rancid. Something in the crust was either old or spoiled, perhaps rancid flour or lard/fat. Frankly it was quite disgusting. I just ate the filling and even then noticed that it was mainly some sort of a gooey filler, starch or whatever with very few berries in between. Not going back there again. read more

Very clean. Excellent service. We happened to find, as we traveled along the road, this delightful breakfast. We shared the chicken fried steak and still the portion was huge. Been driving right by this place on the way to the coast for years, but we finally stopped in for pie. Friendly waitress, ho-hum decor, burger fine, but the big surprise was the little shop with jams, sauces and soups made in house. Also down a hallway is an informative photo gallery of the area's logging history. Fascinating. And a view into the production kitchen, too. And the marionberry pie was delicious. Had a burger and fries. Service was quick and friendly. No complaints! Burger was obviously a frozen beef patty. Flavorless and dry. Condiments on the burger couldn't really hide the lack of flavor in the meat. Thanks for the side pickles but.....well, no. Not impressed. Fries were obviously frozen as well. Went with a friend for lunch. Friendly, prompt service during thr lunch "rush" hour. We both ordered the turkey sand: cream cheese, cranberry, leaf lettuce and tomato. It was served on soft white bread... The turkey appeared to be pressed turkey meat. While it was good, it would have been outstanding with roasted turkey breast. We asked for crispy fries and our request was fulfilled. Nothing bad, nothing outstanding. 15 minutes from home... Can't go wrong!! read more

I usually do not eat a meal, but have had their chowder which is very good, but the MAIN THING is their Marionberry Pie!!!! In fact, that is the real reason I stop here. I have been trying Marionberry pies wherever I can (though it is a Pacific NW berry, so that means mainly Oregon and Washington) and this is the BEST EVER!! Large portions, moderately priced, great service... you get the idea! The Berry Patch is a restaurant on Highway 30 that sits by itself in a small town along the Columbia River. They take pride in their large selection of berry jams, syrups, wines and pies but they are known for their marionberry creations. Four of us stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning and we were seated immediately. It's pretty quiet inside but I think the atmosphere just matches the atmosphere of the quiet town. Our waitress was awesome and helped us out with all of our questions while joking with us and making our experience pleasant. I had the ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and a homemade biscuit. The omelette was good but I wish the hash browns had been cooked longer because they were more like soggy potatoes than crispy hash browns. The biscuit was a good texture but also needed to be cooked longer or toasted or something because the texture was slightly undercooked. I love that they give you a little side of their marionberry jam, yum! We browsed the old historic photos that line their walls and checked out their jams and jars of soup but didn't purchase anything. They have a small little wine tasting area where you can sample their wines (we tried the rhubarb wine) before you buy it. The wines are very sweet so if you are into that, you are in luck! This was a funky little place worth stopping at, especially since it was the only breakfast spot in town but I don't think I would go out of my way to go there again because the prices were a little steep for the quality of the food. It seems as though the restaurant has fallen on hard times as evidenced by the faded light box photos on the walls. The restaurant perhaps was a dream for a roadside history museum or something that just didn't take off. Whatever the case the place needs a makeover. The waffle I had was good but I couldn't see it under the tons of merionberry smeared on top. I declined on the whip cream. You know if the waffle is good it can stand by itself, putting too much on makes it soggy and unappetizing. Service was very good. read more
