Delicious weekend Poached eggs, banger, and black beans with crusty toast and yummy waffles, great coffee!

    BLT sandwich in English muffins

The food was tasty but feels like it was little expensive for the portion. They have good sauce. Service was ok. Ambiance was good relaxing. I would come for snacks but meals. I recommend this place (One star off from the portion)

Came into The Bench Market after a nice float down the Channel. Cute market and a full kitchen available with friendly staff. They allowed us to swap out the bread used on the sandwiches, so we had The Bench Club on the original multigrain, as well as baguette, and ciabatta. At $16.50 for a sandwich, I would have liked it to include a side selection of some sort, but I had to add on a bag of chips to the meal for an additional cost (the downside of the whole experience.) Wife had one of the eggwiches, as part of the All Day Breakfast. Great for walk-ups as well as bike-ups. Plenty of pre-packaged selections inside the market as well for any of your picnic needs. And it's pet friendly! We sat on the patio with our friends' dog. Heads up: no alcohol license, so if you're looking for some booze, you won't find it here. A good selection of mocktails available though, if that fits your vibe.

Almond milk, granola cereal, and small pieces yet to be eaten from delicious scone!

This rarely happens... I eat at one place twice in a day! 9:00 breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast and delicious apple juice, then at 3:00 lunch ... enjoying a larger glass of apple juice and mushroom etc sandwich... I forget the funny names they have for meals. My friend had a scone along with granola cereal with almond milk and later the veggie burger....all food was delicious and even the coffee was good! You stand on a line to order your food, pick up your beverages and muffins or scones and plates of food are brought to your table. Even with what seemed like a long line all went quickly and food was soon then delivered. Outdoor seating is available. I was to busy eating my lunch before I realized I took no photo...oops! Mushroom etc sandwich on multigrain bread... loved it!

    Avocado toast

Breakfast here a couple weeks ago. Self seating inside and outside. Friendly and courteous staff. Ordered avocado toast and fruit bowl. Food delivered quickly. Bread was thick and hearty, avocado fresh, eggs over easy. Yum yum! Market also sells local prepared food items including vinegar, sauces, chocolate. Delish! Highly recommended and will return.

We really loved our morning spent at Bench Market when we visited Penticton in October. My boyfriend was invited by tourism Penticton to do some beer tasting and they included this gem within our itinerary and we're so happy they did! First things first, 5 stars on their service. Every staff member working here is the most friendly and genuine. We had the assistant manager greet us on arrival and he was so Incredibly lovely that we found ourselves at The Bench Market the following day as well to grab road sandwiches! The breakfast we had was hearty and kept us full for hours which is what I love about breakfasts like these! Everything they serve is locally sourced which I think is brilliant and they even have a little shop in the middle of the restaurant where you can purchase these items. I bought smoked paprika and real maple syrup because obviously! Also whomever is in charge of their seasonal drink menu does an absolute fantastic job, the creativity shows and everything we had was so delicious from that menu! Keep it up Bench Market! You were an absolute highlight on our trip!

Bench market is a really good breakfast/brunch place that Penticton has to offer. The sausage and egg and summer breakfast were just simple, fresh and delicious (minus beans I don't really like).

Egg salad sandwich - it's big!

The best sandwiches and service around!! Whenever I am in town, this is my #1 stop! Chicken panini, egg salad, muffins, it's all delicious!!

Best tasting latte I've had in a long time. Pair it with a delicious chocolate cranberry cookie treat and it's an easy 5-star visit. Well marked social distancing markers and chairs/tables spread out well. Friendly and excellent service. A can't miss place to visit.

Some friends and I visited this place on a rainy day. There was lots of room to peruse through the adorable local products (jams, sauces, etc.) and aesthetically pleasing cook books. We had warm drinks that helped us fight the chilly weather. Just recently I returned - this time for a meal! I ordered the Avocado Toast and holy guacamole it was good. I didn't even realize until I was almost done that the meal was vegetarian (and as someone who prizes meat above all else this is saying something).

Ambience was okay, I wanted something like a diner, but it was neither a diner nor a restaurant. The food felt like out of a can, tasted really bad. Nothing seemed fresh; from Alfredo sauce to humus to tofu, mushroom soup, chicken sandwich. Chicken and tofu felt rubbery, mushrooms soup was straight out of a can. Everything we ate felt like it was processed food. We really liked the mango and guava juice. I paid $106 including tips for 2 adults and 2 children under 8. I would not go back.

We went to Terry's one late Wednesday afternoon for wings for only $4.99/pound. They offered a good selection of breaded (only) wet & dry flavors. We chose Caesar Parmesan, Honey Garlic, Hotty-Yaki and Salt & Pepper. The S&P was light on spices and needed more,, the CP was very saucy and the other two were delicious. The atmosphere was laid back and quiet for that time as the restaurant was not very busy. The service, I.e. Henry, was very attentive. The four servings of wings came out to ~$20, what a deal!!! I strongly recommend this restaurant for afternoon and evening dining. It's a real bargain with delicious options on the menu.

It's the kind of place that benefits immensely from being one of the few dining options around. Travelers passing through, road-weary families, truckers, and anyone needing a pit stop before another stretch of highway inevitably find themselves pulling into the parking lot. The menu won't surprise you. Nobody is shaving truffles over handmade pasta or firing artisan pizzas from a wood-burning oven. What you'll find instead is a familiar catalogue of diner classics: meat and potatoes, burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast standards that haven't changed much since the days when smoking sections were still a thing. Portions arrive with unapologetic enthusiasm. The kitchen seems to subscribe to the philosophy that if some is good, more is better. Plates are loaded with the sort of hearty, fat-forward comfort food that could fuel a long-haul trucker through the Rockies. Whether that's a blessing or a warning depends entirely on your relationship with cholesterol. My arteries were filing formal complaints before I finished reading the menu. To be fair, Billy's isn't trying to reinvent dining. It knows exactly what it is: a roadside restaurant serving dependable, uncomplicated food to hungry people who need a meal more than an experience. The breakfast offerings are substantial, the coffee flows freely, and nobody is pretending this is a destination restaurant. Overall, Billy's is fine for what it is--a practical stop rather than a memorable one. If you're about to embark on a five-hour drive back to civilization, there's something reassuring about a hot breakfast and a full tank of calories. Just don't come looking for culinary inspiration. Come because you're hungry, you're passing through, and Billy's happens to be there. Cheers.

It has a great theme with the wooden spoons everywhere, cool old tin panels in the ceiling as well as the burlap bags. You order at the counter, pay and get your numbered wooden spoons which you place in a glass milk carton at the table you choose while awaiting your food. There is plenty of brick inside the restaurant which is always something I like. The woman who took or order said that the owner had bought the place behind them and they were blowing out the wall in between the two establishments so the kitchen can service two places. Sounds good right? The problem we had was that the breakfasts we got were not hot, I mean barely warm. My sunny up eggs were barely done, still alot of clear in the whites. My two halves of toast were put together, butter to butter. The second pieces together for my entire meal I was going to put marmalade on after I had finished all but them. The butter had not even melted into the toast, it was still whole butter. Everything tasted quite good, but it has to be hot. We would certainly return, but it fell just short of the mark. Too bad!
