Finally made it to Il Vecchio Delicatessen to try one of their sandwiches. We dropped in on a Wednesday afternoon (2:00pm). Small lineup but the workers are quick making sandwiches. You can pick any cheese and meat from their list. Menu consists of sandwiches, paninis, salads and tiramisu. Sandwiches are $8.09 to $9.85. $2.99 to make it a lettuce wrap is quite the ripoff. - 2 Meat & 1 cheese ($8.09) - prosciutto san danielle, genoa salami and gouda green pesto. Sandwich came with lettuce, tomato, pickles, sun-fried tomatoes, artichoke, eggplant and pepperoncini. A lot of ingredients, but not a lot of flavour going on. Cash only. Cheap spot to grab a quick bite but light flavours. read more

Great deli. Long lineups because the sandwiches are just that good. Nice cheese options to go with all the deli meats.

Been coming here for mmm like 20+ years. Delicious sandwiches and other euro import food items. One of my go to spots in Penticton.

I've been coming here since they opened and the sandwiches were just $2 and an americano was only $1.50. Val and Karen behind the counter. Richard helping out. The simple quality remains to this day. You can't go wrong here. Bring cash and be prepared to line up depending on your timing. read more

Cool shop with lots of different meats and cheeses but terrible customer service. Man helping us was very sweet but both females working could care less if customers were there or not. Made me feel not welcomed and never wanting to return. read more

Wast disappointed that the fact they only except cash and no website to see menu! I even called to find out and told them I was coming from summerland and didn't mention cash only read more

Stop what you're doing and get yourself to Il Vecchio RIGHT NOW. Incredible made-to-order deli sandwiches with a huge selection of meats and cheeses to choose from... the entire deli counter at your fingertips! You can pick two meats or four meats, or go totally meatless. They also have paninis that sound amazing. I went with the goat gouda with pepper salami and Hungarian salami... was NOT disappointed. Will definitely be back and am already planning my next sandwich. read more

Like under $7 for this amazing sandwich.. crazy good!! The girls are so friendly and love to joke around!! Just a great place for lunch read more

Il Vecchio Delicatessen - 4 meat and Cheese!! Loaded - Delis Near Me - Penticton, British Columbia

I can't believe these guys have any good reviews. The service is ridiculous. I tried to order the sandwich and she tried taking orders for the next 8 people at the same time. She messed up all the orders. Other customers were served in front of the 8 she was trying to do at once. I eventually just said make me any sandwich at all because everything was so mixed up. This was a horrible experience. read more

Wow! $6 for a good-sized sandwich, with quality meats and cheese, plus toppings like sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes and pickles. Il Vecchio is now my go-to lunch place when I'm in Penticton. read more

Hidden jewel in Penticton. The store has a eclectic collection of food stuffs from around the world. Sandwiches are the best in town

On a recent trip to Penticton my hubby and I discovered their great sangwiches....yes, I spelled that wrong. 2 meat and one cheese for $5.50 and a fully loaded roasted and raw veggie sangwich for under $5 Yummy! They have tiramisu dessert in the coolers, pop , juice, waters... It's a Little Italy kinda place. Pastas, gnocchi, sauces, dried mushrooms, olive oils, tunas, ....etc. read more

Great sandwiches for the price, 2 meat & a cheese on a fresh Kaiser bun for $3.99. Choice of mayos & musards, includes lettuce & tomato. Not open on Sundays though. read more

An old style Italian Deli tucked away right across from the bus station. Had the "four meats and a cheese" sandwich. It was loaded with lots of goodies and hit the spot after all those wine tastings. read more

You owe it to yourself to stop by! Foodgasm for sure! My Reuben was up there with the best I've had. One of those experiences where you pout a little once the last bite is gone. Love that they sell all the ingredients if you want to buy your own. I'd say the potato salad was the best I've had. read more

I've been here twice, once years ago and today, and the quality is exactly the same. Great price, great selection and definitely the best deli in Penticton! 5/5 would go again, so long as I beat the lunch rush! read more

This is the best Deli in Penticton! A 4 meat, 1 cheese sandwich is $6.49. You are hard pressed to find a better deal in town. Staff is fast and friendly. What more can I say. read more

I love this amazing deli. They have the best selection of meats, cheeses, condiments, sides, chips and vegetables in British Columbia. There is so much to choose from that you could have a unique sandwich every day for 50 years. Maybe the best sandwiches you will ever eat, but the prices are ridiculous low. read more

Delicious sandwiches with lots of options, for a very low price. It's definitely near the top sandwiches I've ever eaten. For $5 you get 4 meats, cheese, sun dried tomatoes, lettuce, tomato, mayo and choice of mustard, artichokes and eggplant. Delicious. The bun is fresh and light, melt in your mouth. We tried to go back but it was closed before we left town, will definitely go there again if in the area. read more

I always look forward to going to Il Vecchio when I'm in town. The deli is a hidden gem. The sandwiches are delicious and well-priced. You can choose from their wide selection of meats and cheeses, and then add on mustard (sweet or spicy), and a selection of veggies (lettuce, tomato, pickles, artichoke...). They also serve paninis. The shop has many imported items such as pasta, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, etc. The staff are friendly. They allowed us to taste the mustards to help decide and didn't rush us. Highly recommended! read more

Il Vecchio's is a Penticton experience. Any local will tell you - the best sandwiches!

This place is excellent!! Delicious fresh deli sandwiches prepared for you while you wait!!! Great homemade soups!!!

Awesome! Meat sliced per order! Nice to have so many choices of what to have on a homemade style sandwich!

Ate here again...still the best sandwich in penticton. This time had pepper salami and cappicollo with jalapeno havarti. Tons of pickels. Sweet mustard and mayo, lettuce, sundried tomatoes...done. read more

Fantastic local Italian deli with fresh breads, meats and cheeses. Excellent service and the cost was very reasonable. I would highly recommend if your visiting Penticton! read more

Pentictons hidden gem. A place that every local knows and a lot of visitors have the fortune of discovering when they get off the bus at the greyhound station across the street. It's not quite as cheap as it once was but that comes with increased costs of product etc. and it is still a great value for what you are getting without question. If I'm having a bad day, a sandwich from "Ill vecks" as it's called by many I know will always cheer me up. From the buns, to the choice of cheese and meats, the crisp lettuce and all the marinated veggies on top, with your choice of several mustards, it's never boring. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting, as most locals should already know. read more

This is the closest thing to a New York Deli you can find on the West Coast. I was ecstatic.

What a wonderful little spot!! The sandwiches and salad were awesome! And the bonus was the Italian grocery store!! We had just picked up a bunch of veggies from the farmers market that day and stopped here for lunch, we were planning to hit a grocery store to pick up the remaining few items for our pasta dinner but discovered them all here!! And the prices were great as well! read more

Amazing sandwich at an amazing price! This deli has a huge assortment of fresh meats and cheeses, all served on a fresh bun. I don't remember the last time I had a sandwich this good. The ordering system looks a little bit crazy when you walk in, but the ladies behind the counter are quick and efficient. It's by no means a fancy sit down restaurant, and that's what makes it charming. A perfect stop for a quick and satisfying lunch. I'll certainly be visiting here again. read more

Good sandwiches but don't order 3 or more because they will royalty fuck it up. Not impressed, it's making sandwiches not rocket science.

Overall it was pretty much what I expected. The reviews I have read suggested I would be blown away by, but I tend to find that reviews take things to the extreme either way. The service was very good. I was promptly greeted at the counter and given all the time I needed. I ordered the Mediterranean panini, which I was told would take 5-10 minutes to make. I appreciate the full disclosure of the time needed when it comes to counter service. Unfortunately they were out of the sun dried tomato pesto, but again I was told up front. They had sold out of soup for the day, which I didn't even know came with the panini, so they took a buck or two off the price for me. I paid, and was told to go have a seat and she would bring it to me when it was ready. The sandwich came in a styrofoam container, not a fan, but it's a small space so I can understand. It was piping hot and not greasy in the least. That was a marked improvement over most panini! The bun was light, airy, moist, and most importantly, crisp on the exterior. Inside, the meats were perfectly warmed, the cheese was melted just right and the artichokes and whole sun dried tomatoes were just right. I have to say that overall the sandwich was ok for flavour though. Preparation was spot on! Will I go back? Yes! Absolutely! I imagine that the panini would be spot on with the pesto. read more

From August 2015... Still was stellar service, stellar sandwiches, and a good selection of other food items at mostly reasonable prices. Good stuff folks! read more

Their deli sandwiches might be the best I have ever had. We were visiting from out of town and we went there for lunch and then went back the next day. I had ham and summer sausage with the smoked Gouda and sweet mustard, it was delicious and the bread was soft and fresh. One tip would be to sell olives and pickles, etc for snacking on the side with the sandwich. read more

Cute Mom and Pop shop. Good selection of meats and cheeses. The sandwiches are good. Nice place will definitively go again.

This deli used to be fantastic under the original owner. I used to frequent often but after 3 times of consistently bad service and a very sparse bun I have decided it is no longer worth it. The lady with purple and blue hair is extremely rude and unhygienic. The food service and atmosphere is just not the same. read more
