Seriously awesome stop in West Seattle! They have a ton of taps here, about 30 ish. They range from IPA's to pale/mild to darker, to sours to ciders, so something for everyone! I had a Belgian beer which was only $7 for 16 oz, not too bad. There is so much to choose from on tap it can be difficult to make a decision which isn't a bad thing! They also have a ton of cases of beer! If you're looking for something unique that you can't find anywhere else, chances are it is probably here. There are numerous local beers and many international beers which range from Mikkeler to German and Belgian bottles. My boyfriend and I were out there last week the 13th-16th and we decided to visit this place on Wed. We were impressed with how many choices they had in ipa's, beers, ciders, ales and a couple of wines. To top it off you were able to sit down at the bar area and order drinks or walk around with them and shop in the cooler area. We purchased the sampler and a few drinks to take back home with us. The guy in the shopping area was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place and would go back if we are ever in Seattle again. read more

Consistent with my earlier review from 2013. Stopped in during the West Seattle Summer Fair. Worth visiting if one happens to be in the neighborhood. One can bring in food. SERVICE: 3.0. Several servers at bar. Despite the crowd, the wait at the line was short. BEER: 4.0. Good selection on tap. My wife had an excellent pilsner and I had a summer wheat beer. Both were non-hoppy good. The beers here are great! Such a HUGE selection! Beers, ciders, tons of locals! My complaint is simple-but the reason I wouldn't return---customer service is poor. The staff seem to have little to no patience for the patrons coming through the door. Then as the weather warmed up and I began walking with my dog along California Ave., bouncing in and out of places, I was disappointed to find that Beer Junction does not allow dogs. Take note, Beer Junction: People in Seattle walk around with their dogs and drink beer. It's what they do. I wouldn't actually be as peeved as I am if the employee informing me of such rule hadn't been so rude and attacking about it. read more

While this place seems like it has everything, good prices, a good beer selection, and a cozy atmosphere my experience here was a little lackluster. The service my partner and I got here was not great, our bartender was not very friendly, but we saw other bartenders who seemed to really be clicking with the patrons. We only went to the bar once and the bartender we saw just seemed annoyed to be there (maybe just a bad day), but it definitely affected our desire to stick around. I think the only negative criticism I could find buried within my conscience would be that there should be 2 or 3 locations of Beer Junction! I love this place with all my heart and their beer prices / selection are second to NONE. There have been a number of times I've wanted a specific limited-release beer that is sold out of everywhere else I've called or checked in the city, but Beer Junction will still have one or two bottles left. They are awesome and the staff is very helpful. It does get a bit more crowded than I like to deal with sometimes, but that's just because they're good at what they do. read more

This place really doesn't need another review but here I am anyways :) Fantastic bottle shop. Staff was approachable and actually reached out to us as we were perusing ALL the selection. We were looking for the elusive black IPA/CDA and, without flinching, the friendly staff person guided us through their selection and made some wonderful recommendations. Also enjoyed that we could try some of the beer on tap and decide if we wanted a bottle for home! We ended up with a new CDA, a Rye IPA, a Belgian and a peanut butter stout. While we were there the staff was cycling in new stuff and keeping things fresh - loved it! read more

Beer Junction does six things very well: 1. Their selection is outstanding. They have over 1,200 beers ranging from local standbys like Fremont's Interurban IPA to more exotic offerings--including an impressive selection of barrel-aged beers. 2. They store the beer properly. Beer, especially good beer, needs to be stored out of direct light, upright, and cool. You'd be surprised how many alleged beer stores screw this up (Super Deli Mart...) but Beer Junction nails it. They even seem to have removed the lights from their coolers to keep the beers in the dark to prevent skunking. 3. Their inventory organization is clever. Most beer sellers arrange beer by brewery but Beer Junction arranges beer by style/varietal. This allows the thirsty consumer to zero in on the Baltic Porter section, the Fruit Beer section, or whatever and compare across breweries. Genius! 4. They provide data. Every beer in Beer Junction's arsenal is labeled with ABV, IBU, rating, region, and other vital data. 5. Their service is attentive and prompt but not invasive. The staff are quick to offer assistance but are happy to let you roam the cases, for an extended period of time, totally unmolested. For me, this is an essential part of why I'll be back to Beer Junction. I probably came in looking for a few specific beers but, I want to see the whole of what's on offer too. Variety is, after all, part of what makes craft beer so interesting. 6. Their pricing is fair. Some of the local beer stores seem to be a bit aggressively priced--especially with regard to trendy styles and breweries. From my vantage, Beer Junction's pricing is on par with most grocery stores which is pretty impressive. Honestly, the only issue I have with Beer Junction is the location. They're in West Seattle which, apart from being a time commitment, scarcely registers within my mental solution set when considering locales to acquire beer. Though, that may change... read more

What a fun place! We walked over as we were waiting for a table at Easy Street Cafe and got to participate in Chocolate Beer Week! We ordered a selection of 4 samples to try. The fella at the counter was friendly and was really knowledgable about each type of beer. Always refreshing to encounter those who are passionate about what they do. Along with what is on tap they have a huge variety of bottles as well as glassware for purchase. I was so blind to the marvels of beer, but Beer Junction opened my eyes and lead me into a wonderful, happy land! It is easy to say that you don't like beer if you haven't sampled many different kinds and Beer Junction is the perfect place to do so. The selection is AMAZING! I have started enjoying lambics and sours, which are hard to find in a regular grocery store. At Beer Junction I can find all my favorite Lindemans and Oude Gueuze Tilquin à L'Ancienne. If you find the wall to wall cases of beer to be overwhelming, you might also try grabbing a beer on tap - they have a wide selection on tap, which may give you some direction toward what you would like to drink. The tastings here are a blast. I only had to pay $4 for 5 tastes and they were LARGE! The man serving was incredibly friendly and put a lot of effort into describing each type for me. If you don't know a whole lot about beer this is a great way to discover new breweries and new types of beer. The staff is really what makes this place. They are the heart and soul of Beer Junction! When I walk through the door, they always greet me and ask me if I have any questions or need help finding something. They are also incredibly knowledgeable. My first time in I was looking for beer for a friend who knows everything there is to know about beer - I asked one of the staff to point me to a strange beer and he chose a jalapeño infused beer. Perfect! Do not come into Beer Junction expecting some wild bar - it is a lovely, small, local beer shop with great staff. Do not pay attention to the man who gave one star because he could not bring his child in with him. Who brings their little kid to get beer with them?! Parent of the year award for you sir.
