Such a fun lil spot! Nice vibe, beer, music, & patio! A lil sun, a lil shade = perfect! Dog friendly is also nice :)

Cutest outside seating, always such a great time. Wall in service- even if they have a big line it moves quick! No food present, but they allow outside snacks.

I'm so glad I found out about Great Notion, thanks to a Yelp Elite event! I discovered that I'm a huge fan of sours and fruited beers. I even got to try a milkshake IPA for the first time. Usually I'm not a huge fan of beer but I think I'll be back to try more! There is over 10+ pours to choose from on the tap list. You can purchase sampler sizes before you commit to a full size. This is a neat brewery tucked in Georgetown. It is spacious. It's accommodating for larger groups. There are board games and a few pinball machines. Lots of good vibes.

I've been wanting to visit a Great Notion for a long time, and this one happened to be near my dinner reservations. They have such a unique offering of beers, like smoothie and fruited flavors. The customer service was friendly, and they helped me fill out the must-haves of my beer flight. The area is small, but cute, and feels comfortable. I don't often make it to this part of Seattle, but it's a wonderful spot I hope I can visit again.

Great beer and amazing people. Such friendly vibes in the taproom with well behaved doggies!

Another great Georgetown venue that I will put into rotation when I want to go out for beers with friends. Great Notion delivered with an array of local and tasty beers. I am very partial to sours. If that's your jam, this is your place! The blueberry was unique and lived up to some of the Flemish sour cherry beers I've had overseas.

Came here an hour before closing. Bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable with the beers. A ton of seating available, there were only a few customers here. Lots of board games and card games available to play. There were a few arcades / pinball machines too. Parking was a little weird, we didn't know we were in the paid parking lot and had to move the car to a different spot so we didn't have to pay. Had great beers and a fun time here.

Back in Georgetown, after a long Saturday at work, Great Notions has been on my radar since first trying a few of their brews while residing in the Bay Area Cali, so many great breweries in the Georgetown area, it's taken some time to visit most of them... one or two still in the list, but a few already visited multiple times. Great Notions has some unique takes on beers, not just your average multiple choices of IPA's, but many uniquely flavored beers, which many are still waiting to try, as this visit was focused on trying some of their newly tapped fresh hopped ales, which one of which I got the kick the keg, last pour... Thanks! Shawn! Both of the fresh hops ales were great tasting, hoppy and juicy hazy, just what you would expect from a great brewery, so glad they opened a tap house or two in Seattle (another still to visit in Ballard) being a Saturday afternoon, both inside and outside was busy, parking was a little challenging but not too bad, the patio was full, but I was lucky enough to find a stool at the bar. The constant line was quickly taken care of, bar tenders were on it! Making for smiling happy customers walking away with full pours or multiple tasters to try. Dog friendly patio, college games on the multiple screens throughout, and a nice variety of rock playing made for a very chilled atmosphere. Now I couldn't leave without at least trying a taster of one of their unique beers, Blueberry muffin...OMG!! So good!! Blueberry blast up front with a nice muffin grain aftertaste... if I was ever tempted to have a beer for breakfast.. this one would be it.. lol definitely looking forward to more visits to try more of Great Notions special take on beers. Georgetown is always a fun area to visit. Happy Yelping and Cheers!!

Walked into Great Notion to kill Monday blues and ordered their flight with the following drafts: -Night of the living squatch ( The Best - Coffee/chocolate notes) -Blueberry muffin (Fruity) -Double raspberry marshmallow (Fruity) -Edge of the dessert (okayish) -Radio silence (not my cup of tea or beer rather) They have a lot of tables to seat folks and the ambience is okay not great as compared to some other breweries but a nice cozy place for a small group tp hang out. You can see planes fly by real up and close and those loud noises can be annoying sometimes if you are trying to have a conversation with your group of friends. Service is nice staff is friendly and polite. I will stop by again for the Night of the Living Squatch and the Mango beer (they did not have it the day I stopped by)

I have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Great Notion ever since I heard the great news of the Portland brewery making it's way up to the Seattle area! GN is by far, one of my favorite breweries in Portland! Their beers are unique, and they have an amazing line up (and some of the best IMO) of New England style IPAs! We went down on Friday, since my husband and I were both off work for the holiday. To our disappointment, their patio is available BY RESERVATION only! (If you don't have a reservation you can buy 4 packs to go. No growlers/crowlers at this time.) Somehow by the grace of the beer gods, someone was 30 minutes late for their reservation so they sat us at their table! Talk about luck! (After we left I looked online regarding the reservation policy bc I didn't see it when I was on the GN site- they're booked solid for weeks! You have to go to online and all the BOTTOM of the page is the link to "reserve a table". The reservations are for 2 hour time slots & they fill quickly, so reserve reserve reserve!!!) Anyways back to the beer! My husband and I ordered the sample tray; which includes 5 beers. We got 3 NEIPAs, a session and a stout. The BABY BLUE was my favorite! The color was strange, but the aroma and the taste were so good!!! Although, it is a blueberry NEIPA, it reminded me of cotton candy! Not overly sweet, just a hint of blueberry (which has never ever been my go to flavor!) The peanut Brother was a nice stout. I got more chocolate than peanut butter but it was as nice clean stout for such a high ABV. We got a couple of 4-packs to take home. I wish they were doing crowlers, because I would've been stocking up on the Baby Blue! It was also Black Friday on our visit, so we got 20% off a Great Notion hat. Thanks Great Notion! Welcome to Seattle! I am so glad you're here!!! Cheers!

Thanks for hosting us at the Yelp Elite event! I loved the option of flights to explore the menu, especially when you are the kind of person who can't make up their mind and likes to sample different things! Cool that the space is indoor/outdoor with tons of seating and that there are games available to play. I'll have to come back to try what I missed out on this time!

I was a fan of Great Notion after visiting them in Portland a few years ago and am a fan of sours so naturally, was super excited to see them open up their Georgetown location! A few things to note, to avoid disappointment/set reasonable expectations: - Right now (as of September 2020) they are accepting online reservations for seating (and no walk-ins). I had reserved a few weeks back (right when they released seats) and got a reservation for Sunday 9/27. The weather (and air quality) cooperated so we were able to make it! Not sure if they will keep this area open if it rains (there were umbrellas but it wasn't fully covered). If you want to buy beer to go, I believe you can walk in (or order through their app). We saw lots of people showing up hoping to find seating but they were turned away due to not having a reservation. - Reservations are pretty limited due to A) demand and B) the seating area only accommodates a handful of groups and is properly distanced, etc. Having put those caveats out there, this was overall a positive experience! When you arrive, they will seat you in the outdoor area (which was super comfortable -- soft patio chairs and a very distanced/private area). They let you know that all the ordering/paying is done through the QR code on the table, so be sure to have your phone charged/available. You literally do not interact with the staff at all after you get seated, except when they bring you your beers (and they tell you specifically "do not get up from your table in less you have to use the restroom", which was a bit harsh, but understandable) I ordered a flight (5 beers for $16, I believe). I had the Double Berry Shake, Guava Jr., Seedless, Tree Hugger, and King size peanut butter. All were unique and tasty in their own way -- the peanut butter one was a tad sweet for me (and a little artificial tasting) but all the others were great, with the Double Berry Shake being my favorite. The only slightly negative here is that the experience feels a bit impersonal since you don't interact with the staff. You literally cannot ask a question about a particular beer (e.g. is this beer super hoppy?) or any other question, as they do not come to your table. I definitely understand and respect covid precautions, but it seems like they could come close(ish) to your table (while keeping 6 feet distance) initially to check on you, ask if you have questions, etc. especially since this a new brewery to the Seattle area and people may have questions before ordering a particular beer. Otherwise, always happy to have another brewery in Seattle to frequent, and you can never have too many sours! :)

For sure there's not a whole lot to choose from but there's still quite a few. The prices are pretty okay for a small craft brewery to be honest. Better luck finding it the first time than we had looking around and passing it by. It's on a pretty unassuming looking street. This is surrounded by old garages and warehouses. Even though it's not a big place, there's still enough room for a group. It's about $7 a pint. That's pretty good for a local brewery it seems. Best of these is the Smack IPA. Nicole is an amazing groomer--she did an excellent job, and Kainalu came back clean, well-trimmed, and clearly cared for. I want to be very clear that I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her work, and this review is not a reflection of her at all. The experience during that initial visit felt professional and smooth, which is exactly why I intended to return and continue using their services regularly. However, the issue started when I attempted to book a follow-up appointment a few weeks later. When trying to schedule online, I was suddenly blocked by a requirement stating that my dog must be neutered in order to book. This caught me off guard because Kainalu was not neutered at the time of his first appointment, yet there were no issues or restrictions then. Since that visit, Kainalu has now been neutered, so I went ahead and uploaded the proper documentation through their system to meet the requirement. Despite doing everything asked on my end, the system still would not allow me to book another appointment. I then followed up by emailing them directly, expecting at least some kind of response or acknowledgment that my documents were received and being reviewed. Unfortunately, I never received a response. No confirmation, no clarification, and no assistance in resolving the issue. I gave it some time, assuming there might be a delay, but the lack of communication has continued, which has been frustrating. At this point, it feels like I've done everything required on my end and still have no way to move forward. What makes this more disappointing is that I genuinely want to continue bringing Kainalu here because of the positive experience we had with Nicole. Again, she is an amazing groomer, and this situation has nothing to do with her quality of work. The issue is entirely with the booking system and the lack of customer support or follow-up. A requirement like neutering is completely understandable, but the inconsistency between allowing the first appointment and then blocking future bookings--despite meeting the requirement--doesn't make sense. Overall, while the grooming itself deserves recognition, the backend experience has made things unnecessarily difficult. A simple response or manual update to my account after submitting documentation would have resolved this quickly. Instead, I'm left unable to rebook and unsure of how to proceed, which takes away from what was otherwise a really strong first impression.

One of the dishes I miss after moving to Seattle from the Midwest is the humble tenderloin…read moresandwich. A giant plate-sized piece of pork, pounded flat, breaded and deep fried? Yes please. After finding out about Loretta's Northwesterner, which is basically the only place in Seattle that serves tenderloin sandwiches, we made it a priority to visit on a surprisingly rainless and cloudless February winter weekend. Breaded Pork Tenderloin Sandwich ($18) - That's the stuff. A perfectly fried and breaded tenderloin, easily 3 or 4 times the size of the almost vestigial bun, topped high with veggies (on the side, of course, to assemble to taste). It's a very respectable size, larger than many places I've visited in Indiana and Iowa. Thick breading encrusts a perfectly cooked tenderloin, allowing a hard crispy shell to develop, while the interior meat, pounded flat, remains tender yet moist. Both the breading and pork are liberally seasoned with salt, pepper, and spices, which creates a well seasoned bite. They include tons of romaine, red onion, tomatoes, and tangy pickles - with everything in place, I almost had to unhinge my jaw to eat the sandwich. The bottom bun is slathered with an ungodly amount of mayo. It's necessary to add more creaminess and fat to the relatively lean meat. The one qualm I have that prevents me from anointing this sandwich the best in the west: the bun. While toasted on all sides, it's dry and kind of crumbles apart while eating. Otherwise, this sandwich is excellent and easily competes with the many pork tenderloins I've eaten in the Midwest. (5/5) Fries ($6) - A $6 basket comes with a generous portion of freshly fried potatoes. The fries are skin on, which basically makes these crisp starchy sticks a health food. I found them to be fried a bit too far, rendering the interiors fluffy but dry. They have good crisp exteriors, though, and aren't overly salted. (4/5) Tavern Burger ($7) - Loretta's is actually more famous for their burgers than the tenderloins, with many publications in Seattle claiming they serve the best in the city. People often recommend getting the Double Tavern Burger, but we opted for the single given that we were planning on a couple of stops for desserts and pastries afterwards. For a full meal, I'd definitely want to upgrade to the double - the single isn't that large, probably comparable to a cheap fast food burger with a slightly larger patty. The beef is heavily charred in flavor, lending a great smoky aroma and a beefy bite. It's cooked well done, so the entirely of the burger is the same brown color, but there's more than enough moisture coming from the other ingredients to offset the dryness of the beef. There's a requisite slice of melted American cheese on top and plenty of fatty mayo-based secret sauce underneath, dressing a bunch of chopped onion and sliced pickle. The tanginess from the pickle balances out the fat and meat quite well. I'm not sure I'd call the burger the best in the city, but it's certainly pretty good. (4/5) I don't eat at dive bars very often, but I'd definitely return to Loretta's for the tenderloin sandwich. It's not a dish commonly found in the PNW and the fact that Loretta's rendition is actually really good, is a boon to the city. Bathrooms - Two tiny unisex rooms
