Went to Growlerz for the first time tonight and my 2 year old lil Boston Terrier had the time of his life! Was playing and having a blast the whole time. Folks there were super communicative and helpful in getting a lay of the land. The dogs were very friendly and the people were welcoming and had only glowing things to say about the space. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the cover to get in for my pup was very affordable. Already wish there were more places like this, but I'm glad to have found such a spot! I recently brought my Havanese, Kainalu, to Growlerz Seattle for a grooming appointment with Nicole, and I want to start by saying the actual grooming service itself was great. Nicole is an amazing groomer--she did an excellent job, and Kainalu came back clean, well-trimmed, and clearly cared for. I want to be very clear that I have absolutely nothing negative to say about her work, and this review is not a reflection of her at all. The experience during that initial visit felt professional and smooth, which is exactly why I intended to return and continue using their services regularly. However, the issue started when I attempted to book a follow-up appointment a few weeks later. When trying to schedule online, I was suddenly blocked by a requirement stating that my dog must be neutered in order to book. This caught me off guard because Kainalu was not neutered at the time of his first appointment, yet there were no issues or restrictions then. Since that visit, Kainalu has now been neutered, so I went ahead and uploaded the proper documentation through their system to meet the requirement. Despite doing everything asked on my end, the system still would not allow me to book another appointment. I then followed up by emailing them directly, expecting at least some kind of response or acknowledgment that my documents were received and being reviewed. Unfortunately, I never received a response. No confirmation, no clarification, and no assistance in resolving the issue. I gave it some time, assuming there might be a delay, but the lack of communication has continued, which has been frustrating. At this point, it feels like I've done everything required on my end and still have no way to move forward. What makes this more disappointing is that I genuinely want to continue bringing Kainalu here because of the positive experience we had with Nicole. Again, she is an amazing groomer, and this situation has nothing to do with her quality of work. The issue is entirely with the booking system and the lack of customer support or follow-up. A requirement like neutering is completely understandable, but the inconsistency between allowing the first appointment and then blocking future bookings--despite meeting the requirement--doesn't make sense. Overall, while the grooming itself deserves recognition, the backend experience has made things unnecessarily difficult. A simple response or manual update to my account after submitting documentation would have resolved this quickly. Instead, I'm left unable to rebook and unsure of how to proceed, which takes away from what was otherwise a really strong first impression. read more

This is a great space for dogs and their humans. Daycare is wonderful, well priced, and my pup leaves happily exhausted. Adult beverages in the evenings and weekends and fun events for Pride, Halloween, and the holidays? It's our favorite spot, and our dogs too. read more

WE LOVE GROWLERZ! Our dog Simba knows the word "Growlerz" and will perk up whenever we say it. When we walk by he always insists on pulling as hard as he can towards the door! The staff there are all super friendly and nice, and they clearly all LOVE dogs. We feel incredibly welcomed every time we visit with Simba. The membership is very decently priced, and their drinks are incredibly well priced too! They don't serve food but we love being able to bring our own food and eat while Simba runs around. I always look forward to their weekly newsletters. They hold weekly trivia events and have different drink discounts on many different days of the week. They also sometimes host fun events - e.g. dog photographer, casino night, etc. They're also constantly doing renovations - they recently got fancy TVs to display their menu and they are getting their turf redone this week. FYI they do have a no-excessive-barking policy and require vaccinations and spay/neuter. As a result, the dogs inside are always very nice - sometimes I hear scary stories at public dog parks about aggression and we have never encountered anything like that at Growlerz! Best of all, even though we live in an apartment where we don't have a large fenced yard, our pup Simba is able to get the outside time he needs. We love you Growlerz :) read more

This is my Seattle happy place. Super cute, friendly dogs at the park. And really nice and kind staff that are true dog lovers. Growlerz is a great part of the Columbia City community and they host frequent themed events and have rotating beers/alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, and some snacks. They host trivia, drag bingo, soup cookoffs, beer tasting events, Halloween party w/a costume contest, etc. They are very inclusive and accepting of all people. A really inviting place, where it is easy to make a friend (dog or human). No dog is required to enter the dog park, but dogs have so much fun playing, bring your doggos here if you can. Dogs are safe, supported, and adored here. Nice on a sunny Seattle day, but also when it's colder and rainy. Growlerz has heaters and covered areas to enjoy the space year-round. read more

This is my single favorite place to take my Basenji, Maya, in all of Seattle! I'm a local and I've been taking Maya to Growerlz for several years now. Growlerz is a fantastic play park for dogs with a social atmosphere for adults. Dogs are well-vetted and monitored and I never have to worry about Maya's safety, unlike at public parks. Rates are very fair and competitive for the area. The turf is kept clean and the facilities are secure and well-lit, with covered spaces and fire pits for adults to keep warm by in the cold winter months. They offer beer, wine, and other beverages at a discount on Tuesday's. I run into other regulars often. The owners and staff including Caryn, Carl, et. al. are super friendly and run the place with attention to detail. There are frequent events throughout the year such as "Barktoberfest," a Christmas bazaar, Pride month, and so on. Growlerz feels like an extension of my life at this point. I've been taking my dog, Eleanor, to Growlerz since they first opened in 2020, and it is her favorite place to be. Because the park is artificial turf, she can play hard and not be dirty and muddy like if I take her to the local public off-leash. There is a great sense of community here. The owners, Caryn and Karl know all the dogs, and do a great job making everyone feel at home. All their staff, past and present are wonderful: They've got a great selection of local beers on tap (which you can also bring home in a growler) and they have regular events here like trivia, bingo, and the occasional food truck. There are many dogs that are regulars, so dog owners all get to know each other's dogs and help make sure all dogs here have a safe and fun place to play. Eleanor especially has her favorite human regulars and pup pals here. Whether it's for park play or for doggy day care, Eleanor and I highly recommend bringing your pup to Growlerz! read more

My firsthand experience as a customer of Growlerz Seattle has been poor. I have not been allowed to bring my dog because I refuse to castrate him without sound medical justification. In fact, their requirement that "ALL dogs over 7 months of age must be spayed/neutered." is medically harmful - dogs have not finished developing at that age and those hormones are necessary for regular healthy growth. read more

My dogs' favorite dog park. Huge outdoor area where the dogs can run themselves ragged. Much cleaner than a standard dog park and it lets us kick back and have a drink or two. The two owners Caryn and Karl are amazing, very caring with all the customers and the dogs. They tend to have weekly events where they bring in food trucks, groomers, photographers etc. Sports games often are on the television, Sounders sometimes even on the big screen! A lot of other dog parks let the puppy come home with a lot of pent-up energy, but she's always completely exhausted at this location. All the other dog owners seem to be very caring and maintain their dogs behavior well. And there's also a great assortment of craft beers, ciders and local wines available. read more

I think my dog loves coming here more than being at home. This is like his dream house. Hes here for day care and when he comes here to hang out, he forgets that I exist and plops on the couch, tail wagging. When we even get close to the street like down the block, he starts wagging his tail, ready to run to the building. My dog has been INAPPROPRIATELY TOUCHED by reception lady. I bought my first dog about 4 weeks ago. Previous owner gave me some vet receipts and told that dog is neutered and have microchip. I brought my dog at Growlerz. No one asked me any questions other if I want to buy a drink and keep my tab open. After some playing, reception lady was calling my dog but he was playing with other dog at that time. I was cold and went to covered space with fire pit. Reception lady came and asked to pet my dog. After some time because of my dog face expression I understood that all that time she was touching my dog genitals. So she lied to me that she wanted to pet my dog. She told me that my dog is not neutered and I supposed to go to see a vet. I've seen a vet a day before and provided vaccinations record. I have not been told that my dog is not neutered or I have to do it. Anyway THAT LADY supposed to tell me that she will touch my dog genitals and what's the reason instead of lying she just want to pet my dog. I feel assaulted as well as my dog. No one, especially her have a right to touch my dog's genitals without my permission and tell me what I have to do. Additionally I can't tell anything good about that park. All artificial grass is soaking in poopy water as well as your shoes. Just terrible and humiliating experience. PLEASE protect your pets!!!! read more

There is lots of space for the dogs to run around, the turf will come in handy in the wetter season and in COVID times it is easy to keep your distance. My pup and I LOVE Growlerz! I adopted my new pup at the beginning of the pandemic and after his vaccinations I wanted him to be socialized with other dogs but hearing a lot of horror stories about public dog parks I was hesitant. After looking around I found out that Growlerz just opened up for day care and was a quick walk from my house! The fact that all dogs require vaccination for entry and that dogs at day care went through temperament testing was reassuring to hear as a nervous dog parent. From the very first email and interaction Caryn and Karl were very welcoming and responsive. You can definitely tell how much they love dogs. I dropped my pup off for temperament testing and shortly after Caryn said he passed and is welcome to stay for the full day. My pup came home with a great report card and was very tired and happy - I was sold! He's 8 months old now and we go to day care at least 2x a week and the results from this daily exercise and interaction with other dogs have been fantastic. He recently started taking training classes during day care with Elisa and I continue to see improvement every week. We also go to play park on the weekends and all the owners that come in are friendly, responsible, and keep an eye on their dogs. The bar is also a huge plus ;) All of this while practicing safe social distancing of course. My dog and I are so grateful that Caryn and Karl have created this space for dog lovers!
