WE LOVE GROWLERZ! Our dog Simba knows the word "Growlerz" and will perk up whenever we say it. When we walk by he always insists on pulling as hard as he can towards the door! The staff there are all super friendly and nice, and they clearly all LOVE dogs. We feel incredibly welcomed every time we visit with Simba. The membership is very decently priced, and their drinks are incredibly well priced too! They don't serve food but we love being able to bring our own food and eat while Simba runs around. I always look forward to their weekly newsletters. They hold weekly trivia events and have different drink discounts on many different days of the week. They also sometimes host fun events - e.g. dog photographer, casino night, etc. They're also constantly doing renovations - they recently got fancy TVs to display their menu and they are getting their turf redone this week. FYI they do have a no-excessive-barking policy and require vaccinations and spay/neuter. As a result, the dogs inside are always very nice - sometimes I hear scary stories at public dog parks about aggression and we have never encountered anything like that at Growlerz! Best of all, even though we live in an apartment where we don't have a large fenced yard, our pup Simba is able to get the outside time he needs. We love you Growlerz :)

This is my single favorite place to take my Basenji, Maya, in all of Seattle! I'm a local and I've been taking Maya to Growerlz for several years now. Growlerz is a fantastic play park for dogs with a social atmosphere for adults. Dogs are well-vetted and monitored and I never have to worry about Maya's safety, unlike at public parks. Rates are very fair and competitive for the area. The turf is kept clean and the facilities are secure and well-lit, with covered spaces and fire pits for adults to keep warm by in the cold winter months. They offer beer, wine, and other beverages at a discount on Tuesday's. I run into other regulars often. The owners and staff including Caryn, Carl, et. al. are super friendly and run the place with attention to detail. There are frequent events throughout the year such as "Barktoberfest," a Christmas bazaar, Pride month, and so on. Growlerz feels like an extension of my life at this point. I highly recommend checking it out!

This place is a saving grace for us! We take our 14 month old Doberman here for daycare and the play park on the weekends! She has so much fun and comes home tired every day. The play park is great for grabbing a drink while your dog plays!

Open during covid and plenty of space to spread out. Super warm and kind staff, and no, you do not have to bring a dog in order to hang out. Covered and uncovered seating outside, Astro turf for the dogs to play on, and ample seating. Good beer selection and overall just a great setup.

Such a fun place! Grab a beer and watch your dog play. Perfect spot to meet up with friends who are also dog dads/moms, or even come without a dog and watch everyone else's dogs play!

My pup (right) made a ton of friends on Sunday.

Magnuson off leash park is HUGE to put it simply. There are few gates to enter into, one of which is right near the "small" dog section of the dog park which is nice the other entrances lead to a huge field mixed with grass but is mostly dirt. At the entrance are some hoses to hydrate the dogs or hose them down quickly before entering of leaving. On really hot days I'll spray my pup quickly to cool him down. From there, there is another little area not as big as the main area, but there are some additional benches and is a bit more secluded than the main. The main area has a little info board, lost and found and a covering with a table and bench so you can set things down if need be. There is a path that's maybe 0.5 mile walk that leads to the main attraction here, a nice little cove of water where the pups can go jump in the water. It's great. My pup is a tri-pawd and doesn't really swim but does like the water. There is a nice long running mat that leads into the water. It lets him gradually get into the water and it is such a thoughtful addition there. I find the people at this area are generally nice and have had pleasant visits each time here. Best Off leash area I've visited thus far.

For the most part, we haven't run into any issues bringing our senior pup here (he's a chihuahua beagle mix) and he does well meeting all the other dogs and people. Over summer - the dog park can get pretty smelly. I think it's from those hose/water run off but there have been some days where it smelled kind of gross so we left. Also, always watch your pup around the drinking bowl and run the water to make sure it's fresh and not stagnant or contaminated! Unfortunately, the last time we took our pup, he drank from the drinking bowl before we could get to him and a few days later he got extremely sick.

This set up reminds me of the one by Amazon, just a lot larger while still being only a mid to small sized dog park. Dog parks come in so many sizes. Every time I stop by there are many people with their dogs. My dog always has a good time playing. I like that this place isn't so large that my dog runs off in places I can't see. I can see my dog from anywhere in here with plenty of running room for all the pets and their owners. Nice job on this one. Probably the best dog park in the area based on size, offerings, and cleanliness. There isn't a bunch of dirt or gravel like many of the dog parks so your dog will stay relatively clean. Huge bonus in my opinion. I avoid many parks because my dog immediately gets so dirty.

My husband grew up in Magnolia, so he took me here for a hike last weekend, and I was completely blown away. We explored the south side and walked the Loop Trail. From an urban park perspective, the only other experience that comes close for me is when I moved to the Old Town Manchester neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia, and had Belle Isle in my backyard, which offers access to hiking, large flat rocks for sunbathing, and whitewater rafting on Class II, III, and IV rapids on the James River right in the middle of downtown. Okay, back to Discovery Park. I spent an entire day exploring the park. I started by ordering a carryout lunch at Damoori Kitchen, which is now closed according to Yelp. I then walked to Discovery Park and hiked the 4.4-mile Discovery Park and Lighthouse Loop. A map for that trail can be accessed using a trail app. The loop trail took me through several ecosystems such as coastal meadows, tidal beaches, forest groves, sand dunes, and vast stretches of thickets with wild berries. Once I finished hiking the loop, I walked back to Damoori Kitchen and caught a rideshare back to downtown Seattle. Highlights from my Discovery Park adventure included eating lunch at the tidal beach, exploring sea cliffs, seeing jaw-dropping views of Mount Rainier, hiking past the West Point Lighthouse, and experiencing the sights, sounds, flora, and fauna of the park's majestic landscape.
