I recently went here for the first time for a Yelp event. The event was a success. The place is very lovely. The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back here and highly recommend this place. There is good amount of parking in the premises.

I have driven passed this wine room for a few years now and have always wanted to stop in. Well today was my lucky day! Our original place to hold our monthly book club meeting was closed, so we picked this one due to its close proximity to us. The tasting room is of average size and very quaint. Tables with chairs, wine barrel tables with bar stools, a lounging area that includes comfy chairs and a coffee table, and sit up bar with bar stools offer a variety of seating options. Staff is really friendly and immediately welcomed us and told us to sit wherever we felt comfortable. After looking at the menu, Chris came over and explained the tasting menu and the history of the winery. If you want to know that, get in there! So worth it! We opted for the wine tasting flight and tasted some delicious French wines, all the while discussing our book. Overall a fun tasting experience, with some awesome wine! Lots of parking and a really friendly staff! Can't wait to get back in there! Maybe for some trivia? Music? Yes, they have that too!

Wow! I am seriously so impressed with the variety of great rosè from this winery. We taste tested 12 of their roses and they were all good! Not too sweet and very, very easy to drink. The staff were all so knowledgeable about where each wine came from, the winemakers and the area in France and can show you on their cute maps they provide. It's a small and cute space in South Park bit plenty of free parking.

We went to an event here a few weeks ago and were absolutely floored at what a great gem this place is hidden in the unexpected industrial part of Seattle. The tasting room is beautifully decorated with subtle pastels, romantic lighting, and surprising hints of fresh florals tucked here and there. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a great selection of wines to choose from. We had the opportunity to meet the owners Carol (The Princess) and Steve (The Bear) and hear their amazing story. This power couple attorney and surgeon gave up their big city life to explore their dream in southern France. While living there they fell in love with small local wineries. Due to their size, these family owned businesses would have no other way to internationally distribute if it wasn't for the insight of Carol and Steve. They taste while living in France and ship back their favorites for us all to enjoy! Our tasting included a great variety of white, rose, and red wines making sure to please any palate. My favorite was the Trintes and I brought a bottle home with me just so I could enjoy the experience again! It was not difficult to convince both my friend and I to leave with a couple bottles of wine as most of their bottles are under 30 bucks making it pretty much impossible to convince your rational self you don't need another bottle of wine..cause you really do..really. I'm so excited to have found this place and look forward to visiting again soon and enjoying their delicious wine selection and benefiting from their knowledgeable team who educates you on the vino while pouring you a delightful glassful.

I visited Princess and Bear Wines for a private event and was extremely impressed with the selection of wines. The staff was very knowledgeable and kind when asked questions about specific wines. I picked up a white that I opened last night and it was delicious! Also, the owners are very kind and make you feel right at home when visiting. Stop by to pick up a bottle for yourself and a friend.

Desir Blanc - Really hard to pic a fav, but I did.

TLDR: This fairly unassuming spot, should be one of your bookends if you're visiting South Park or you're a wine person. What you should know: - The wines were (at the time) mostly hand crafted blends (this is a good thing). - Decor is modern and neutral, despite it's feminine leaning logo. - The bottles are shockingly (shockingly) inexpensive. - Staff is warm and friendly. - Not sure about food, but there seems to be something next door.

Enjoying some great wines at P&B!
    Lisa O.

We have been a member of the P&B for the past year and the wines are consistently great, no allergic reactions to these delicious wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. Today, Chris was our wine ambassador and he had an incredible wealth of knowledge and passion for the wine. My friend also joined the club - we look forward to coming back each month to this cute tasting room as they change up their flights frequently. While in an unassuming location, you are quick drive to Sodo or Georgetown for a bite to eat. Cheers to the P&B!

Great place with great owners. Got to meet the Princess and her Bear hubby at a Yelp Elite wine tasting event. I ended up purchasing a bottle of my favorite tasting of the day, a Domaine de Trinites (2015 LaDeves) for a future dinner pairing. When I tasted it, I knew it was the one for me, full bodied and robust! This place is very chic and right in the middle of the South Park commercial district with a rollup door for outdoor seating as desired. There is a long bar which is great for tastings and several indoor seats including a couch area with low tables for more casual tastings. The owners live in France in a very wine-centric area on the Mediterranean Sea and taste several hundred wines a year and select a few dozen for purchase to bring back to Seattle for this location. They focus on small wineries with great taste and very affordable. All the wines I tasted were under $30 per bottle. They offer 3 different wine clubs ranging between 4 and 12 bottles per shipment. Their hours are Thursday - Sunday from noon to 6pm, so no wine tasting here on Mondays-Wednesdays. The staff was top-notch, being very helpful and knowledgeable. This is a great place to try French wines and select a few for personal use. Merci to Princess and Bear for opening this place.

I couldn't believe this place was in south Seattle and right by my old work. I wish I knew of this place when I worked in Georgetown! I worked down there for over 12 years and I didn't know it existed. I would've been a regular. It's the cutest little place to try wine that is outside of the states. All their wines are from Languedoc-Roussillon a region of France and it makes it unique. Wines you can't find anywhere else. It's great and we tasted a few and they were delicious. They had a sparkling wine that I just loved and bought. If you want a great vibe and fun atmosphere go there. The service was exceptional and they were very knowledgeable. I didn't get a chance to meet the owners and to get more information on the finding of their business so I hope the next time I go they will be there. Great spot and I hope people flock here!

Enjoyed an event at P&B this past week. The staff was so welcoming. Every question we had on the wines, AVAs, etc, was answered with such great detail! I'll definitely be going back!

    Denise S.

All the yes! This bar solely features wines from France and Italy. The owners live in West Seattle part time, and in Europe the other half of the time, and ship their favorite wines back to the states! Because of this, the wine list is always rotating. Everything we had was great, and while you are there you can order food from Osprey Bistro down the way.

    Best Rosé ever!!!

Princess and Bear just opened the most stunning new tasting room! It's light, airy and sophisticated! The tasting room staff are warm, friendly and so knowledgeable! I tasted some incredible French wines & learned so much! I felt like I was transported to a true French wine bar as I walked in the door. Absolutely recommend!

I had the pleasure to attend a Yelp Elite event here at Princess and Bear Wines and it was a great experience. The owners are lovely people and I enjoyed hearing about their story about opening up this winery and why they exclusively get wines from a region in France. The 5 different wines we tried were all delicious and the best part about getting wine from here is most of their wines are under $30! You can't really beat that! They also have different tiers in case you would to join their wine club! (Which I definitely plan on doing). The environment of the winery is really cute and I wouldn't change a thing. There is plenty of parking and a bistro right next door in case you want some food after! I'm glad I got the chance to experience this winery since I never even heard of It before! I definitely will pass this winery around my friends and family because they have to experience this!

BEST IDEA EVER. It was legitimately one of the best dinners I have ever had. There were 9 courses total, and everything the chef brought out was incredible. The service was wonderful and personal and attentive from the chef to the bartender to the wine director. So while I already would recommend this place to any serious fan of Italian cuisine, I cannot speak highly enough of the Nonnakase experience. Absolutely worth every penny. Also the bathrooms are delightful. Great vibe, don't miss out.

And then I recalled why I didn't want to come back from the first experience. First, the location is unique, and I really appreciate that this business is trying to keep Georgetown alive with cool quirky places to eat. This def fits the bill. But, I couldn't help but notice the political statement taped to the front window, super classy. I dine out to escape my day. I don't need it thrown in my face at dinner. Next, when the menus were brought to us, it was for their 3 course restaurant week special. $50 per person, and there are two choices per course. My family all chose what we wanted and then waited for the meal. Like previous reviewers, the wine is brought out in oversized shot glasses not really, but might as well be). I get that in Italy, dinner wine (peasant fare) is served in cups, not stemware, but $18 for mediocre wine, I'd like to see a more appropriate pour. Lamb Polpettine was essentially lamb meatballs on a cold and very loose polenta with what was described as salsa diavola, but it was essentially a chunky red sauce. There was nothing about this that wowed us. In fact, it was pretty bland overall and underwhelming. But the manner in which you are greeted and served at the restaurant and the remainder of service, you would think it was going to change how you felt about food. I don't even want to go into the salad. Again, underwhelming. The mains came out and although tasty, the portions were very small compared to the price we paid. And if you opt for the truffle, it's finely grated and it covers the entire plate. Also, it's an extra $12......for less than $2 worth of black truffle. It absolutely ruined the dish. An educated server would be able to caution against it, if, of course it wasn't intended to raise the final price, essentially raising the tip. If you order risotto there, be fair warned, it is extremely loosed and not very well made imo. Bland, lacks imagination, and the rice grains were cracked and soggy on the ends and crunchy in the middle.. Last was the dessert. Again, it was tasty, but it comes in these tiny jars that equal about 2-3 spoonfuls of either panna cotta, or tiramisu. At the end of our meal, the bill was over $250. For that price, I could have eaten somewhere where I could have left a little more satisfied and felt like I was actually in an upscale restaurant, not a political statement masquerading as fine dining. Having worked food for a long time, I felt obligated to leave the customary 20% gratuity knowing full well the workers there made their "living wage" before the gratuity kicks in. It included an additional 2% to pay for employee health insurance. Isn't that an employer cost? Why put that on the check? Anyway, out the door for $300 and vowing never to come back. Buyer beware.

Who knew people were producing wine in South Park, I didn't until a few months ago. This past Saturday being the second Saturday of the month I decided to grab a friend and head down to South Park to taste their wines. It's in an industrial warehouse so don't expect a cute cozy tasting room but expect to taste next to the equipment and barrels which is always cool. For my $5.00 this past Saturday I was able to taste eight of their wines. I enjoyed three of them the other five were just OK but none made me go OMG this is good. The '05 Syrah, '04 Kestrel and '05 Conner Lee were my favorites that day, each of them different but with a big berry taste, I must have been in the mood for berries Saturday. As we all know everyone's palette is different so you may go and enjoy all eight. Tim the winemaker and Carol his wife were on site to answer any questions you had about their wines, Washington vineyards, or other wineries in the area. They've been making wine for distribution since 2001, prior to that they were what one would consider to be home wine makers. If it's a second Saturday and you're down in South Park check out Nota Bene cellars you might learn something new about wine. The one odd thing to me was before you could taste you had to fork over your $5.00, I know I have to pay but it was a little cold to be forced to pay before having a chance to pretty much look at the wines. Oh and if you decide to buy a bottle like most other vineyards your $5.00 tasting fee will go towards your purchase, I didn't buy anything here.
