Nice place. Found parking on the street out front. The lady tending bar was quite pleasant. The brewery was well situated with lots of tables. I think there must have been a party or something downstairs when we visited. As to the beer - Not exactly my cup of tea. I like sours, but these leaned towards the acidic notes of saisons quite a bit. Once a beer reaches a certain level of 'bitey' it's not really for me. They had a lot of offerings, and I got a flight. (I recently had some aged beer at Holy Mountain that had a similar issue for me.) Smoke Show Sour - I really like smoky things (Meats, cheeses, Lhapsong Souchong tea, etc.) but this went really hard into the smoke flavor. Not sure how that flavor was generated, but it tasted a lot like liquid smoke to me. It wasn't unpleasant per se, but it was not for me. I had a stout that was close to tasting like barleywine. I like a 10% stout generally, but anything heavier isn't for me. It ends up being a bit too much for me. I've had similar stouts at Matchless that I didn't end up liking in a similar fashion. Where does the bar of 'too strong flavor-wise' fall? Unsure, but it happens occasionally. I bought a bottle of a pluot sour that I haven't tried yet, but I have high hopes for it. Oh My Gosh! We visited Seattle for a week. We are big beer people and I tried to do my due diligence on researching the best beer in town. I looked at Reddit and several other sources as well. We found some pretty great stuff! Fair Isle and Holy Mountain were standouts. What didn't pop up in my research was Dirty Couch. We discovered them based on a maps search when we were in the area. Seriously, hands down out favorite brewery in Seattle. Real sour beer is a niche style that saw its heyday a few years back and has since declined a bit in popularity in favor of sweeter kettle sours because they take less time to make and are a bit more accessible to the average palate. Several of the best barrel aging programs have shuttered or drastically reduced their portfolios due to the fickle public including Cascade and Brurery Terreaux (and several others.) Ditty Couch is making some of the best mixed/wild fermentation beers I have had anywhere. These are truly world class. I would put their Flanders style up with Duchess de Bourgogne. Every beer I had was absolutely pitch perfect. They do other styles as well. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you are in Seattle and have a taste for the more Belgian-inspired, lambic-style beers, or care anything at all about amazing craft in beer, go here. You will not be disappointed. Beer is good, but one of the main bartenders doesn't understand the fundamentals of the hospitality/food business. One of those fundamentals is NOT verbally making the case that "if you don't tip at least 20%, you might get something foul in your drink". I won't litigate the merits of tipping here, but the attitude that generates the above quote is not ideal in my opinion. I would otherwise like to support this brewery because it's close; but not sure if it's safe if I don't properly guess the subjective tipping percentage required by the bar tender. It's sad that local brews are $9 and apparently require no less than 20% on top. If I have my beer history correct, the brewmaster at DCB was enticed away from Urban Family, which used to be located a stone's throw away in Magnolia. The carrot the owners dangled to secure his tenure as their beer-making magician was the smartest business decision they made ... DCB is among my top three favorite breweries in Seattle. They specialize in creative sours that will blow your mind and/or palette. I love the location, I love that it takes some effort to get to the location, and I love that the effort involved in getting to the location helps keep the vibe alive for serious beer enthusiasts to enjoy some seriously good beer. read more

Dirty Couch is highly creative in their beer recipes and seems like they have a fun time naming them as well. This brewery has lots of sours and farm ales which is something I always enjoy. Steve and I had some of the beer that they had on tap and we enjoyed what we had so much we went ahead and bought a few bottles of other beers as well that weren't on tap at the time. Steve had a very enjoyable wheat sour beer which was so very good! I had a wonderful vanilla porter which was awesome! The bottles of beer I got was the Return to Donut which was an apricot sour ale and the BBCM which was a Black Corn Sour Ale. And of course some swag was purchased... a t-shirt. On my way to another brewery, I passed by this one that had a lot of people. It was a bit hard to see while intending to drive past because it was at bottom of a hill. But, since the other one leff a bit to be desired, I circled back to check it out. Focused on barreled sours, they have a narrow fridge ti grab from. One issue I found is the fridge was backing onto the street and the bench was right in front of the fridge. So, while browsing what to buy it was hard to read the small print and what was in the fridge. And there were many different varieties so it was hard to keep track of as well. The bottled sour I got was very good. The ipa (I needed something easier to drink as well) was not as good. Regardless, definitely a nice place to get some nice bottles to share. My friends and I literally stumbled upon dcb after finishing a drizzly & brisk walk at Discovery Park on a Saturday afternoon. Truthfully, we were drawn in by the minimalist logo and the dogs we saw sitting inside. I'm so glad we did! Most of the menu is sour beers, which can be very polarizing if you're not in the mood for it. Luckily, they have a couple IPAs on the menu too. What I enjoyed was their option to get a 5oz pour ($2) for all of the beers on tap - not as much of a commitment as a 12oz pour! We ended up sharing multiple beers amongst our group in the short time we were there. Our favorites were the Plausibility Whiskey Sour Porter and the Irregularity Blackberry Sour Blonde. There's a decent amount of seating, some board games, and service was very friendly. When I come back to Seattle in the future, I'll make an effort to stop by dcb! read more

I've always heard of Dirty Couch Brewing and have seen their bottles in stores, but never tried them. Their tap room is a good size with seating inside and outside. They also have 1 TV that was playing sports when we were here. Some other cool things about the taproom is that it is kid-friendly and dog-friendly...and cat-friendly. If you're looking for sour beers, then this is a great spot. They only had 1 IPA out of 12 taps when we were here. Their sour beers are very good. I decided to get beer tasters, so I could try a few different beers. I was able to try a sour aged in a bourbon barrel, which was flavorful and different. I tried the blackberry sour, which I thought was too sweet. My favorite was their flagship beer, the Resolute Sour Ale. I'd recommend this beer because it's not too tart and is refreshing. read more

WOW! Every single beer I had on my taster (Thank you Groupon!) was delicious. Like, for real. And the deal was fanastic. Four 5 oz. pours and a full pour. The menu rates the beers on sour/pucker/values. I read reviews and was expecting super sour not so tasty sours. NOT TRUE! Delicious sours. Even the most lip puckering ones were absolutely yummy. Now, I am writing this review after having only one of the most higly lip puckering flavors. Incandescence, a cheery flavored sour on their board listed as a lip puckering sour. Which is they're really sour sours. I loved it! Sorry Not Sorry was a sour one level below the Incandescence. Yummy too! Rainbow Goddess IPA was Hoppy, but not too hoppy. Nobody's Business is a Saison. Super delicious with a refreshing ginger flavor. For my full pour, (the Groupon came with a flight and a full pour), I had another sour called Hemingways Breakfast. I overhead the description as Mojito Like. For real, so good! Every beer I tasted was on point. The previous reviews about the sours being too sour, well, sounds like a personal problem. This brewery brought me back to memories of my favorite NoCal brewery sours from Fieldwork, Drakes, and Alvarado Street. Legit as Shi.... Parking is weird here as this location is on the corner. the building is super cool with a television playing The Office. Upstairs is an aire that feels like it used to be a studio. I whizzed by here on my scooter, heading to Ballard, and screeched to a halt. I love beer and the huge following it currently has, so I couldn't pass up the random brewery in what appears to be the middle of not much. Congratulations DCB on having the sourest beer I've ever tasted in my life. I thought I could handle anything - turns out I could barely finish my tasting of it (this is not an insult in any way). The other 3 beers I tried were also fairly unique, which I appreciated. My one complaint, that almost lowered this review to a 3 star, was the price. A flight of beer for $15 was a bit too expensive in my opinion. It would be nice to see lower prices for people that want to give your beer just a taste. Nice brewery! If you like sours, this would be the place for you! They had a number of different sour beers as well as an IPA and an amber that they brew. I had the apricot farmhouse sour. It was good, definitely a good fruit flavor. I sampled the purple corn sour as well, it was interesting and definitely different, in a good way! The brewer was really friendly and I liked the space a lot. Next time I want to try some different sours, I'd come back here. read more

Came here on a Thursday in the late afternoon, there was only one person working so it was a bit slower, (surprisingly quite a few people for a work day) but she was super nice and helped us out - stayed COVID safe and things were clean/following guidelines. I love that they have more saisons and sours! Everyone on this coast is obsessed with IPAs, Double IPAs, Stouts etc. which I am not a fan of -- so this was quite refreshing, no pun intended! A flight is a great option to sample, four 5oz pours for $14 I think? My favorite was Boscing in the Sun, although they were all pretty good (didn't love the Bourbon Cherry Sour but should have figured as I don't love Bourbon--it's very Bourbon-y) I would like to come back and try some others (I think the menu was limited due to COVID) to see what else I might like! This brewery is Seattle's best kept secret! The sours here are amazing and well worth the drive out there. It's in a nice and quite area away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. The blood orange sour was tart and tasty! It had light orange notes and what tasted like a slight peach hint too. My friend that I went with said that one of his favorites was the Oola Gin Barrel Aged Imperial Farmhouse Ale. It's strong but he really enjoyed it from his first sip to his last. They've got only outdoor seating so if you're going in anything less than 65 degree Fahrenheit weather make sure to bring an extra layer or two because the wind can pick up around here! read more

Best sours in Seattle HANDS DOWN!! They had a classic sour, no fruit flavor, and it was so well rounded, so crisp, with depth and just the right pucker taste. The tasting room is right by the salmon locks with a pretty view of the water. They were in between certain batches so we couldn't try all their sours, but the ones we had were really dynamite. They don't label a gose a sour here, it's the real deal. One of the heads of the brewery was there, he was super friendly and gave us a quick view of their brewing facilities. I have known about Dirty Couch for a while. I never really checked them out, but saw them around. I was happy to find out a couple of my friends live close to them. This place is dope. They serve primarily sour beers and as a recent convert to the sour ways I was super excited to try their stuff out. Now this was my third stop on a drinking too much tour, but I was very happy to try a barrel aged cherry sour beer. That thing was dynamite. The only other thing I remember the entire party being disappointed by was the fact that we did not see an actual or the actual dirty couch that the brewery was named after. The drinks were way overpriced for what the bar detailed in eye and foul language of the N-word roaming around rampantly...it was a disgrace to the #BLM movement. What an amazing place! My family and I stopped by DCB for the first time recently and we had such an awesome time. I should start off by admitting I've never been much of a sour beer drinker. I consider myself more of a traditionalist and typically look for light lagers (Czech pilsners, German kolsch, etc.), and tend to stay away from all beer with fruit in it. So when we walked into DCB and I saw the menu was predominantly sours, I was hesitant to even stick around- but wow am I glad we did! I ordered a flight of sours (with a kolsch thrown in) and was truly blown away by how amazing they all were. The entire flight was simply perfection. My favorite actually ended up being the Forager, a sour with fruit (huckleberry) in it. Who knew! Not only was the beer awesome but so too was the barkeep with us that night. He was so friendly and hospitable and chatted with us all night and even comped some snacks for our son. The moral of the story is this: if you are at all hesitant to try DCB because they serve sours, don't be. Go anyways and give them a shot. You won't regret it! My only regret is that we no longer live in Seattle and cannot visit them more often. read more

Like Hogwarts, haha. We had a couple of pours each for about $25. They have two parking spots, but it's mostly free street parking.
