Holy Mountain is a bright, colorful spot to enjoy a beer in the Interbay Junction. On this beautiful (and warm!) June evening we enjoyed their russet cider, rice lager, and hoppy blonde ale. Their beer was crisp, cold, and refreshing, but nothing that blew us away immediately. They had a projector on to watch the World Cup, which was a bit difficult to see with the lighting, but if you're looking for a screen-free environment, this is a great spot! We brought our pizzas from Dantini to the table and loved that this was another spot we could enjoy our pies. Overall, Holy Mountain is a fun spot for a group of friends to meet, you won't be disappointed with the service or drinks, and grab a pizza from next door! read more

A nice local tap room in Interbay, Holy Mountain is a great spot to try their beers, both draft and some interesting choices in bottles, e.g. barrel aged brews. Selection changes frequently but there is usually at least one lager, West Coast IPA, hazy IPA, and wheat beer available. I've also tried a few bottles for the tap room only which included a very chocolatey stout. There is no food menu, but Dantini pizza is in the same building and they are superb. They will also let you order in stuff. They spin LPs there, everything from 70s rock to metal, and the staff there are great. Loved the Twin Peaks tribute as you enter too! read more

On our Seattle trip we already had Holy Mountain tagged as one of our destinations, based on Reddit recommendations. The first thing you see upon entering is a room made to look like The Black Lodge from Twin Peaks, and once I saw that I knew we were in the right place. Then in the taproom I saw the giant Jodorwosky poster and that just confirmed it. Very casual place with an excellent beer selection, with pizza available from a place next door. Tucked away in interbay this is a chill and open brewery. Friendly service, lots of seating, accommodating to dogs. It's not my favorite lineup of beers (IPA heavy and darks, not a lot of lights and no sours). Additionally, to complement everyone else's review: it's heavy metal music on record constantly playing. It was fine but after a while, it didn't cater to the mood anymore. (My mood preference / opinion) The interior design and merch was really fun and gave great vibes. I've never been disappointed in a brewery, and this is my first ever online review. This place just sucked. Beer is fine, nothing crazy but fine. But the whole place has the ambience of a Chipotle. On top of that, the energy is the same as hanging out with your stuck up no-fun aunt. There's a page of language at each table on how they will ask you to leave if your dog or baby behaves like a dog or baby. I understand having well-behaved dogs and kids, but I don't need to read your manifesto about it. On top of that, I asked for one (1) sample and was told "we don't do that". I can't remember the last brewery this has happened at, and to be honest contributes to how off putting the place was. When I got my saison, it came in a miniature tulip instead of a full size tulip. But, still 7.5$, of course. When we got out of there after one drink (had planned to stay for more), we went to bus our table and had the two wait staff swoop in immediately and snatch the glassware. I looked around, expecting to see them in the midst of a rush and needing the dishes. We were the only ones there. Went planning to spend an hour or two with seven guests and left after a hurried beer. What a weird place. Skip it, you're missing nothing. Bleh! read more

The merch here is the highlight. They have maybe the best merch of any brewery I've been to. It consists of unique art based around: mysticism/the occult/the dark arts. It's unique, it's hip, it's unlike anything else you'll buy from a brewery. I also love the ambiance. It's simple: massive ceilings and bright interiors. The 4 stars are for two shitty trends that have been creeping into brewing that this brewery has embraced: 1) No samples: I was between two different beers...I couldn't decide. Most breweries would just hand you samples of both and let you decided with to get a pint of. I had to ask for a sample here and I was met with a "we don't do samples here" ooooooookaaay. 2) half-pours at jacked prices: why breweries think it's ok to give you 50% less beer but charge you 80% the cost of a full-pour beer...I will never know. Here's to encourage drunk driving and discouraging moderation! I got their light lager, it was crisp and wonderful. I paid like $5 for 8oz instead of $6.50 for 16oz because I wanted to try multiple beers (and they don't do samplers) and I had to drive. read more

Killer beer. Arguably one of the best in Washington and/or PNW. Taproom ~ Their death metal theme made sophisticated with clean black & white decor. Screaming voices & guitar distortion lightly playing in the background for a nuanced cafe feel. Parking is the death of them ~ virtually none in an area right off a busy highway. I'm reluctant to deduct stars on Holy Mountain simply because I've had great experiences with their beers and absolutely go nuts for their t shirts that they put out. But my last experience was so aggravating I'm going to have to dock a star. Normally I order my shirts through their website and have them shipped to nearby Tacoma. Tacoma isn't far from Seattle but trying to get to the Interbay neighborhood always feels like a lot of work. Which is why I just have it shipped. But this last time my most recent order did not get shipped. It may have been my own fault at the time of the order and I did not look carefully enough to make sure it was shipped or somehow it got switched to that is needed to be picked up at the brewery. Regardless trying to correct it was no small feat. Attempting to call the number for the brewery goes straight to a voice mail with it's hours of business in the content as well as saying that nobody checks the voicemail on that phone line and to email the brewery at an email address provided in the message. So that is what I did and then I waited. A few days passed by and there was no response to my emails. I attempted to contact them through messenger on Facebook and somebody who uses the page at the brewery saw my message but never bothered to reply. So good thing I don't live very far from Seattle to have retrieved this shirt. I drove up to the brewery taproom and provided my order number in which they retrieved the order I placed very promptly. Good thing I'm more or less a local but any out of state orders that need to be corrected or modified- good luck! After that was settled I had a couple of their beers which were great as ever. read more

A little shocked I have never reviewed this place. Further that I had not posted anything previously about this place. No pictures or nothing... what am I even doing here. I am not going to wax poetic about this spot. Its amazing beer. A pretty dope atmosphere, a little overwhelming on special release days so be prepared for loud music with crazy beer nerds in line waiting for the next waxed bottle release. But on a normal not overwhelming day you would be hard pressed to find a better beer spot in Seattle... although I have a few reviews that probably say the same thing about other beer spots in Seattle. Their style varies which is nice, while they always have some solid ipas you will find something for almost any beer person. Plus they have crazy barleywines and barrel aged stouts every once in a while as well. The parking is a little weird and unregulated, so that part always feels a little awkward. The train noise will ruin a nice reading day as well, but other than that its tough to beat what they offer in beer. read more

This review has been a bit of a challenge for me to write, as I'm a big beer adventurer, and enjoy trying new and different venues. Holy Mountain makes some top notch beers, as I was able to have tasters of quite a few, before deciding on a pint of the 'As within, so without extra pale, as I'm a big fan of galaxy hops. The servers were great, answering questions and getting the tasters of each beer, very knowledgeable. You can see where the magic is made through the large glass windows that help separate the brewing operations from the tap room, interesting decor, sort of goes with the dark theme, a little reminiscent of Ghost Town brewery in Oakland. Along with ample choices of types of seating inside, they also have patio seating with misters going, with train tracks right next to the patio, so depending on if the trains are parked there, you may have a view of the sound. Trains were there so I can't confirm that, for sure. It was cool that they were playing vinyl records, which the first few were ok, a little vintage 70's, however the next few, just weren't of a style I care to listen to, just my preferences of course. So that's where I'm trying to just focus on the service and the great tasting beers they have. Light snacks are available as well. They do have a large selection of their beers in cans to go as well as growlers. So you can always just pick up a four pack. Parking can be challenging in this part of upper Queen Anne, but not too hard. Also easy to catch off of the Elliot bay trail as well. Yelping on, Cheers! read more

What can be said about that holiest of mountains that hasn't already been said? The dopest merch art in the game, rad unapologetic metal music, one of the best non-adjunct stouts you can get, Midnight Still. Constantly experimenting with interesting beers of all varieties. Delicious pizza right next door at Dantini. Highly recommend a visit, Seattle folks can't shut up about this place and for good reason. I will say it's a spot that I didn't really like the first two times I came as the beer offerings just weren't really up my alley. A lot of their best beers are special releases that people line up for for hours sometimes and sell out by the next day, but if you can make it when the beer is really shining you're in for a real treat, and at the very least you'll get some really unique fun beers to try and one of the coolest breweries around. read more

#beerhunters Best brewery of Seattle for me. I've been coming here like it's my job. What's more is how many friends back in New York and California are making demands that I pick up all of their new releases. Do you know how stressful it is to get bombarded with texts asking you to be at a beer release at 12 pm on a workday ?! I have work damnit!! Well I made a visit tonight and while the crowlers (that's canned growlers to those of you who don't do beer) were sold out I left with 4 shirts and a taste of one of the best beers I had in months. Now you can say I'll just grab this beer in a few weeks. No. The wetwired IPA just released today by a collaboration between holy mountain and cloudburst brewery is out of this world. The juices of rich honey dew are fresh. Rich pure mosaic hops are bursting when you first smell this. Also maniacs like myself will absolutely destroy the last of this batch by the end of this weekend, so do yourself a favor and get to holy mountain or cloudburst soon and try this delicious beer. (Cloudburst will release both the shirts and beer tomorrow ) The shirts are very soft and fuzzy too btw. read more

Great beer, horrendous music. Beer is really amazing, the ambience is amazing and most of the staff is amazing. Music on the other hand, makes you run out in 5 mins. As others have stated, they only play heavy / death metal or whatever the hell it is called, and it is very loud. At least mix up the artists. When you play songs all from the same artist and it is horrible, yeah, makes you want to run away. I asked politely if they could change the music and the snobby answer from one of the bartenders was "we only play this music". So I guzzled my beer and left in a hurry. Glad they have regular clientele and glad they like this. For everyone else, there are a gazillion other craft beer choices, where you can ACTUALLY relax, chat with people and have a nice time. read more

Oh holy night, Holy Mountain Brewing make some good azz beers! I tend to choose one of their beers if I'm at another bar and each time I had one of their beers, it's been real tasty. Came by after work around 4:30pm and it was already pretty busy there. The brewery may not be so noticeable off Elliot/15th Ave W, kind of tucked away. Look for the "taproom" sign and follow it, as you enter it's pretty bare bones and simple looking. It's a taproom and it is just that. Some booths, some small tables, ledges, shared community tables etc. That day when we came by, there were about 12 beers on tap. You can get half pours or full pours. Started out with a few half pours to check out a few interesting beers and ended up with full pours on the ones we liked. Prices are pretty good and we enjoyed all the ones we had and would get them again. No sampling of beers, your best bet is to just get a half pour and it's like $5. No wait staff if you sit at a table, you will have to go up to the bar to get your beers. Staff was helpful and friendly and quick to get your pours. After a few hours of beer drinking we were getting hungry but we already left until we realized there was Windy City Pizza next door at 206 Distillery. What a dummy! Next time I come back, will have to check them out. Just in case you love them, they sell t-shirts, hoodies etc. Train line runs behind the brewery, I like the industrial type feel and view. Definitely one of my favorite breweries in Seattle, glad this spot is on the way home. read more

Sans car, I trekked out of Belltown and wandered well off the beaten path far down Elliott Avenue (hey, I'm from New York - I just assume you can walk everywhere) to make it to this highly-recommended beer mecca, and boy am I glad I did. Saisons are generally my favorite style of beer, and this place is quite the temple to the farmhouse style, featuring several with a nice dose of glorious brettanomyces. This is clearly a place where they value experimentation and testing out new styles, and the beers were all unique and mostly fabulous. Also love the half pour options to let you try more without getting quickly plastered, and the prices for this quality made this NYer blanch at how reasonable they were compared to home. Very cool environment and spot, where I got to chat beer with some locals and get some further local drinking recommendations. I would have loved to get to chat more with the bartenders about the beers, but they were a bit quiet--not unfriendly, but not exactly forthcoming, and a bit standoffish. And I criticize other breweries/beer bars for focusing exclusively on IPAs, so I would probably be remiss in not noting that they are quite heavy on the Saisons, and I wouldn't have minded seeing a couple of other style options better represented. But if you like to experiment and try new beers, this is simply a place and a brand not to be missed. read more

Holy Mountain Brewing is definitely simplistic at first appearance. You walk in there and are already thrown off by being so close to the train tracks. Inside, there is no artwork, just white and stone tables. The beer speaks for itself. We tried 2 beers when we came here and they were both some of the best beer we've had in WA. I ordered the Heavenless IPA, which closely resembled a Hazy NE Style IPA. It was super flavorful and easy to drink. My boyfriend ordered the Astral Projection which is a Double IPA. This beer was truly amazing. The color of the beer was off-putting because it was orange/brown, but the flavor was spot on. I would definitely recommend coming to Holy Mountain if you're a beer aficionado. read more

Cool, minimalist brewery in Interbay. Holy Mountain Brewing is one of the newest kids to hit the Brewery scene in Seattle. And as far as I know it's the only one in Interbay. So that being said, location isn't ideal for brewery hopping if you're on foot, unless this is your first stop. Aside from it's location, parking up front is minuscule. There are only about 2-3 spots, I recall. But if you wander out back by the train tracks, then you'll be able to find parking pretty easily. Since we parked out front, we entered through what seemed like the back way. We passed a bike rack, which is always a good thing. And a couple of restrooms before we hit the actual tap room. Now the setting is very industrial, clean and white. There are picnic tables towards the back, booths aligning the walls, some tables and chairs peppered throughout and the bar, cuz you know I always sit by the bar if I can. They had the dock doors open which offered a cool view of the cruise ships, and an almost deafening train experience, which I would imagine you would get used too after a couple beers. A few things to note: it is 21+ and pets are not allowed. When we came there were about 11 taps featured. They also do not offer tastes. It is either full or half pours and are priced accordingly. My husband and I each a had full and then a half pour of different brews. I had a full pour of the saison and a half of the lager. Both were light and refreshing on a hot Seattle summer day. My hubby had a full pour of the pale ale and a half of the nitro milk stout. The staff were super cool too. They offered some suggestions and advice on the brews. Would I make this my regular stop when brewery hopping? Maybe if I was going from Ballard to SODO or vice versa. But it's definitely worth checking out! read more

Now I know why so many people line up to buy a couple of bottles when they announce a new batch. I came and drank a few varieties of their beers and found they all seem to be limited editions. They have a few bottles you can buy and some that you can only drink there. Even when you're at Holy Mountain deciding all the variations it seems there's limited availability to have a taste. I asked, "Can I have a taste of Astral Projection and compare to Crystal Ship?". The answer is, "We don't provide splashes". Hmm, maybe I should have asked for as "dash" instead? It's like a marketing strategy of having limited availability and rabid demand making Holy Mountain customers, well a religion with some followers that have drank the goat beer. The Holy Mountain crowd really likes black colors. We were there and almost everyone; like 99% were dressed in complete black and quite a few were head to toe in black with Holy Mountain t-shirts and hoodie's. I felt a bit out of place in a festive red and white Xmas sweater. This said, there's something that's distinctive about the customers of Holy Mountain; maybe it a bit of a Goth meets beer culture. read more

On a beer trip in Seattle, this was one of my top 5 breweries I visited! Their influence of Oak aged and Barrel Aged beer have given them a name in the Craft Beer community. I have been to their Taproom twice and each time included a completely different tap list. For me, this was one of my favorite aspects of their brand and culture. They are constantly exploring the relationships between hops, mixed fermentation, and oak barrels. Available each time visiting the Tap Room are beers on-Tap, Bottles to enjoy on property, bottles To-Go, and Growler fills to-go. Their brewery is a warehouse made up of tall ceilings and the back wall open with an amazing view of water and Interbay Seattle. Quite a place to enjoy beer. If this brewery was in my state, I would visit this brewery weekly! read more

My first Seattle brewery experience was quite delightful after getting to experience Holy Mountain. The open floor & high ceiling create a wonderful ambiance & the windows allowed for ample sunlight and a cool breeze. While they didn't have any Gose on tap, I was offered their Sacred Geometry beer which is a barrel blended mixed culture ale aged in Oak on whole Raspberries. Holy Mountain is the place to be especially if you're into Brett-infused Saisons/ Farmhouse ales fermented in oak barrels. Most are usually dry hopped too. Their taproom is easy to miss since it's located off a busy street and their parking lot is very small. If you miss the lot, you can park on the street or go out back bordering the train tracks where you'll find additional spots. Door is located in the back too. Tap room is large with tall white walls. Bright white submarine tiles serve as a back splash to the taps. Booth seating against the wall is available in addition to the chairs at the bar. We were happy to find out that they didn't have a "last call" and would keep serving until closing (9pm that day). This gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu for some goodies. Half pours (5-6oz, $2.50-3.50 each) and full pours (10oz, $4-7) were offered. These prices make sense for small batch barrel-aged beers. The favorites: -Somnium: barrel-fermented saison dry hopped with Galaxy -Covenant: fermented saison in Puncheon oak barrels and dry-hopped with Nelson -Demonteller (the best!): *Anything aged in Foudre barrels is a must!* This one was dry hopped with Galaxy AND Mosaic. A must visit when in Seattle! Always check to see if they have bottles on sale! I was sad that I did not grab the Witchfinder (barrel fermented saison with Brett) for an ULTRA fair $13. read more
