After getting quotes from five other companies, I can confidently say that Ray from TBBWR was by far the most knowledgeable and professional. While others insisted on charging $200 just for an inspection--and some even demanded $400 first to exterminate the bees before doing any inspection ( which in turn was needed for the quote). Ray came out the same day, did the full inspection with the bees around and all, and didn't charge a cent for it. He used a camera system to look inside the walls, and drilled/sealed exploratory holes to ensure the quote covered all affected areas (very important to avoid those pesky surprise extra charges once the job started). He backed everything up with detailed photos of the inspection. Beyond that, Ray actually took the time to explain the entire process to me in a clear, honest way. Most of the other companies were vague or rushed (some quoted twice the amount without even climbing to the roof). Besides doing the removal, cleanup and patch work, what really set Ray apart was how thorough the job was. Unlike the other companies, he didn't just remove the hive. He also: 1.- Offered to replace pre-existing broken roof tiles at no extra charge 2.- Made time on a Saturday (next day) to fit my schedule and urgency 3.- Primed the interior wood, filled the cavity with insulation fiber, and sealed every crevice on the roof and exterior to prevent bees from coming back.. Got an immediate call back but when the contractor, Ray, showed up he scoffed at using a direct access through my home, talked over me, mansplained adnauseum, even shocking my male renter, and quickly told me he didn't want the job. I tried to explain my cats could be placed into their enclosed cat house during the procedure but he cut me off and told me to hear him out. I no longer wanted to give this company my business due to how he was treating me, so I stayed quiet, thanked him and showed him to the door. After Ray leaving, my renter commented that he had been rude, bad at customer service, and crazy mansplained to me. My guess is that these companies use contractors, rather than employees, which is why he felt he could treat me this way and choose whether or not he would accept the work. After the initial service didn't remove them, Ray came out with his son and went above and beyond to take care of my bee issue. He used a camera to find where in our roof they had made a home in the least destructive way possible. He removed 80-100 POUNDS of honeycomb and honey and then put everything back together with a very proper repair to ensure they wouldn't come back and that my roof was in better condition when he left than when he started. If I could give this company more than five stars, I would. Called this company this morning after having been referred to it by my daughter, whose boyfriend had used it a few times to remove nests that seem to like his yard. Long story that I won't go into, I was doing a bit of landscaping work, and I got stung three different times by wasps. My son came to check out where the nests were; determined they were in the ground in some of my bushes. (I didn't know wasps/hornets built nests in the ground.) I had a great experience with this company. The owner gave me a decent quote over the phone and the best part- the price did not change when the techs came out to the house! I had a decent size bee hive with a large honeycomb about 10' up a tree. I'm totally disappointed with this company. I have a swam of bees that decided to make there home by our front door and I wanted them removed before my Grandchildren came to visit. I called up and the person who answered didn't seem too enthusiastic for my business. He didn't offer much information unless I asked questions to find out what the process was. I set up an appointment the next day and I was given a 2 hour window. I arranged my schedule around this window so that I could be available for them. The window came and went and no one showed up? I never received any phone calls stating that they would be late. I have managed a company for 17 years delivering and installing appliances and I know the importance of giving a customer a proper window and maintaining communications in case our people were running late or encountered a problem. I know things happen but its unprofessional not to communicate with the customers. I had to rearrange my schedule and luckily I called another company and they were at my house within 2 hours.. They did a Great Job and were very professional and courteous. And on one final note, when I called to cancel the appointment since they had been a no show, they just said ok and offered no explanations. Maybe it was good that they didn't do the work. A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE!!! Don't call anyone else - you will be satisfied! We started getting a bee infestation this week, in all places, some woodpecker holes on our second story that were formed earlier. On our first call to the Beehive Kevin was very responsive, asked important questions to form an estimate - which was a very good range for not being on site. Super awesome company. We had about 25-50 scouter bees getting ready for a hive to arrive in a hollow column in front of our house. They came in less than an hour and treated the whole area. I called The Beehive this morning after seeing about a dozen bees looking to camp out in our patio cupboard. The employee (I am terrible with names, sorry!) that arrived examined the cabinet, which it turned out was now empty, and said they are likely scout bees who are looking for a new place to nest. He looked around the property for other possible hives and showed me a few spots for my husband to seal up and offered a preventive spraying to deter infestations. I declined and he was very low pressure about it, and he did not charge for the visit. I have bookmarked and saved their number in my phone because of their honest, no-pressure service, and quick arrival.
