I have visited the Beacon twice in the past month to celebrate my wife and friend's birthday and mine. I can say without hesitation this is one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in the past five years in South Florida. Beacon offers inventive cocktails, delicious entrees, delectable desserts, and exemplary service in Jupiter across the water from the Jupiter Lighthouse. When you go to Beacon, the experience is world class from start to finish, starting with the gorgeous shell-shaped bread that is made from scratch. All the cocktails I have had on my two excursions to Beacon have been brilliant from the classy Vesper to the glorious Bullfighter. But my favorites so far have been the bourbon and rye fusion of the Concrete Jungle and the scotch and liqueur explosion of the Blood & Sand that includes curaçao, house-made vermouth, and blood orange. Additionally, they have a nice collection of spirits overall between the available Blanton's single barrel and orange limoncello. For starters, you can't go wrong with their cold-water oysters, Stracchiatella cheese, or the charred Spanish octopus. The cheese is served with amazing toasted bread, while the octopus is grilled to perfection and served with smoked potato, treviso, and black garlic. The oysters were so savory, clean, and fresh that you could eat several of them without taking a breath. For main courses, their pasta dishes are supreme, with the standouts being the Agnolotti Coniglio, stuffed with glorious rabbit and served with a rich cream sauce, and the Paccheri con escargot was a savory paradise of goodness with the saffron hollandaise sauce. If you have someone to split this, order a side of crispy fingerling potatoes with garlic aioli; it is the world. I have had the privilege of trying three of the four desserts that Beacon currently has available. My favorite of the three is the chocolate bombe, but you could do just as well with the tiramwoo or the deconstructs Meyer lemon tart. Each are exquisitely made like a work of art that you could stare at before devouring, before washing down with an espresso martini. Beacon is special. We will return for more culinary adventures as this place is a masterclass of excellence. read more

Beaches has been my favorite restaurant since they opened and I would go multiple times a week happily. This year new chef new menu -'d the portion sizes are HALF. Literally half of what they used to be it's a joke. I've been twice and am heartbroken with the changes. One cocktail had a giant ice cube and maybe 3 oz of liquid at a staggering prices. I'm happy to pay for quality but leaving hungry when your spending top dollar is absurd. I hope Joe and Charlie read this review and make drastic changes fast. Avoid! Overpriced. Bad food and drinks. Our friends warned us about the Beacon, but it's has been on our list and we wanted to try it. The place is set up to be a high end establishment. The ambiance is alright. But the food and drinks are unacceptable, especially at the price they charge. Wine was terrible and our fishes were not fresh and extremely salty. Very slow service and there weren't many other people there on the eve of the 4th. That should have been a red light. I felt like I was in a funeral home. Beacon is a coastal steakhouse with delicious food and a beautiful view of the ocean. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. Everything we ordered was great. I loved the tuna and crispy shrimp appetizers. There's something for everyone on the menu. I also loved the salmon entree with polenta and asparagus. The polenta was cheesy and had a great texture. If you have room for dessert they are all beautifully plated deconstructed versions of a traditional dish. Overall, this restaurant was lovely and I had a great experience. The oysters were small, served in batches of six. The shrimp were large. I managed three rounds but they would have gladly kept bringing more if I wanted. I like Beacon and despite a few less than stellar dining experiences I have returned, however after this week's terrible food disaster I'm rethinking my loyalty. I was with family and we tried many items and with the exception of the very good house bread everything was awful and simply not edible. You would think with such a limited menu that the kitchen would prepare decent dishes but not here and it goes beyond taste because the shrimp in the Pappardelle & Sugo di Pompodoro were just so low level that something of that poor quality should not be served. The sauce in the pasta was also foul. The chicken in the Chicken Meunière was tough and I had a difficult time cutting it and I just gave up. The chicken should not have been served and you have to question the quality control in the kitchen. Beacon is a nice restaurant with great views but the food really needs improving. read more

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Beacon. Everything about our experience was great..... from the valet, host, server, cocktails and food. They brought out complimentary champagne as we were seated to celebrate my husbands birthday.... he would have rather had dessert but I enjoyed the champs! After hearing cocktail recommendations from our server we decided to order the Back in El Dia. This cocktail wasn't my favorite as the smoke flavor of this was very overpowering. I switched to an old fashioned and was made exactly to my liking. We shared a swank farms green salad. Loved the variety of the shaved carrots and the flavor of the moscatel vinaigrette. My husband enjoyed the swordfish for dinner. I went with the dry-aged no.12 short rib burger. My burger was so juicy and cooked perfectly. We were sad that they we unable to make the chocolate dessert during out visit. So we settled on the apple dessert instead. I loved the oatmeal-brown sugar crumble with the ice cream. Went early on Xmas eve hoping for the early bird but had to settle for the regular menu, an expensive mistake. My wife had a large piece of fish,expensive and alone. Any vegetable is an extra charge, I had a hamburger with fries ($28)and gave most of the fries to my relatives to supplement their small dinner portions. The wine was the smallest I have ever seen in a restaurant. They must be pouring 8 glasses from a bottle.($18). They require a 20% surcharge on the bill. We haven't been here since the changes they made but not only has the ambience changed, but so did the food. They used to have fabulous food and decided to go for a celebratory dinner. With 6 people only one of us had a good meal. Very pricey for subpar food. It was a Sunday but we were one of two tables seated inside the restaurant & about 4 tables outside. This lighthouse viewing spot delivers on creatively prepared dishes and very tasty craft cocktails. The service was a little inconsistent throughout our meal but I understand it's a relatively new place so they get a pass while working out the kinks. We shared the octopus appetizer, crudo and wood fire grilled oysters. Each one was played beautifully and full of flavor. I had a pan seared wahoo with a perfectly done crust. Sides included broccolini and asparagus that were so artfully prepared, it reminded me of a shaved salad. Others at the table had the snapper, scallops and duck. We shared this chocolate mousse dessert with freeze dried raspberry crackles that was quite delicious. Admittedly not a chocolate fan, I thought the dessert was lovely. They have a nice wine list which is pretty well priced considering the caliber of this restaurant. The views from the outside veranda where we dined was stunning. You are paying for the view, that's it!! We have been here several times to have drinks upstairs; the drinks and staff upstairs are good. In the restaurant, this is a completely different experience. Service was slow, and we felt like we were inconveniencing the wait staff by being there. When he was with us, he spent most of the time with his face buried in the tablet, placing our orders. With the amount of time he spent on the tablet, you thought he was writing a book. The only thing he was fast with was the check, which you pay for on the tablet, the waiter stood over my wife like she was going to steal it. She felt very pressured with him lurking over her and left a way bigger tip than he deserved. Swordfish Tomahawk is one thin anorexic, overcooked piece of swordfish, that's it! No sides. With the amount of time he spent typing on the tablet, you would have thought you got more. Next time I want to spend that kind of money, I will go somewhere else. I had the pleasure of dining at the Beacon earlier this week. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated ambiance with soft lighting and intimate seating inside and out. The service I receive was nothing but impeccable. The staff was very knowledgeable and attentive.. The food was great. From the roasted cauliflower to the charcoal grilled octopus and to finish it off .. the grilled lamb chops. But , best of all . I had a great selection of delicious drinks that I had never tasted before. The bartenders that night was Cynthia . She is so sweet , carried a smile the entire night , very attentive to me and my date. We also all shared a few laughs. It was very pleasant :) Based on the drinks we had been ordering that evening , she recommended us a few of her favorites . We normally just drink shots but we were curious. This was one of the best meals I've had in my entire life. The chef took us on a tour of the menu and loved every dish. From the cold water oysters, to the baked oysters, tuna tower, lamb shanks, steak and beyond. We finish with a few different desserts that will rock your world both with flavor and presentation.
