After a late-morning scuba diving trip with Kyalami Dive Charters (love those guys!) my wife and I found ourselves in a familiar situation: salty, hungry, thirsty, and in need of a little post-dive recovery. Fortunately, the Square Grouper Tiki Bar was just a few steps away from where we boarded the boat. We split an order of coconut shrimp with sweet-and-sour sauce, along with a "Chubby Cuban" sandwich (I can relate ). The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the Cuban was well made and satisfying. The fresh-hot fries were crispy and a perfect pairing with a tasty post-dive meal. To complete the recovery process, we washed it all down with a couple of ice-cold bottled beers while soaking up the laid-back waterfront atmosphere and some live music. Very cool spot on the Jupiter Inlet with great view of the lighthouse across the inlet! The food was very good as I had the Mahi sandwich with a side salad. The piece of fish they use was bigger than the bun and the blackened flavor was spot on. My wife had the Grouper fingers which were cooked just right and an ample portion to boot! FYI, plenty of seating but you do all your ordering at the bar area for beverages and food. They will give you a pager type device that will tell you when your food is ready and you pick up at a designated space near the bar. A friend recommended so we decided to visit. Located on the water near the inlet. The atmosphere was amazing. All the tables, bar and high tops are located outside. The weather was warm but it had a nice ocean breeze. No table service. You go up to the bar and order food and drinks. They give you a pager. When food is ready they notify you and you go pick it up. It's definitely a laid back atmosphere. They did have a pretty good live band playing as well. We ordered drinks, as well as coconut shrimp which were cooked to perfection, chili nachos tasty and very cheesy and a Cuban sandwich which was also delicious. What a great day. My friends and I came out for a fun night at the Square Grouper Tiki bar. The entrance is fun and inviting. I love the way it's lit up. It would not have hurt my feelings to have been carded. . The boys at the front would have scored brownie points for that! We were able to walk over by the water and take some beautiful pictures of the lighthouse. The favorite drink of our group was the Inlet Breeze. Scott was a great bartender! We came to see my friend's band, Miss Dympsey's Class, perform. We found a table close to the stage and had room to dance as well. They played mostly rock, including Lynyrd Skynyrd. The great seemed to be having a blast as well. The weather was great and the breeze felt nice. We will definitely go back again. read more

I went here last night with some friends to celebrate, and was having a great time, but one of the bartenders completely ruined my evening. We were standing on the side of the bar for hours, and my tab was at $200 at the end of the night. We were drinking and dancing, and nobody said a word to us the whole night. Then, when it started getting busy, this extremely rude, low life bartender (white male, 40-50 yrs old) kept telling me to move down the bar for some reason, with no explanation. We didn't understand why as I've worked in food and beverage before, and that place only has bartenders, no servers. If I was blocking a bunch of servers getting their drinks from the service bar or something I'd understand, but that was not the case at all. Then, I asked this lowlife bartender if he had a problem with me, and he responded that he did. Again, not sure why. Then, the moron called security over to which I told them the exact thing I'm telling here. This short little manager walked over with two security guys, basically for no reason. I guess they were all mad I was having a good time with friends, and standing on the side of the bar is taboo. The place was packed at that point, not sure where they wanted me to go. And nobody said anything to my two other friends, just me. I paid the tab, and left. Not sure why the idiot bartender had such an issue with me personally, must be mad for being a loser at 45-50 years old, and working behind a bar, who knows. It's on the pier with views of the docks, lighthouse, and small islands. You can walk on the dock with your drinks, too, though you may be at risk of falling into the water. There are no fences whatsoever. The food was casual bar foods, the slushie drinks were the best (I didn't enjoy the lighthouse drink that much), lots of fried finger food options we tried the conch but wasn't a fan of the texture. To begin, i understand the optics of 5 20-somethings entering a bar. we came into this establishment because the PUBLIC dock connected is where we were taking our charter from. we are all over the age of 21 by the way. by policy, the bouncer informed us that we could not eat our homemade lunch on their tables by the dock (the tables were at least 20ft from any paying patrons of this bar and didn't plan on staying for longer than 20 min). i found this a bit pretentious coming from a tiki bar, but fine i understand-- i've worked in fine dining for 3 years, i know how this works. we were a bit bummed and tried to reason with them to no avail, but being the understanding and respectful individuals we are, we chose to go somewhere else. upon coming back to the restaurant to get on the dock the general manager, Adam, approached us with a deceiving kind demeanour, even shaking my brothers hand upon introduction. he informed us we are not welcome at his establishment after we get off the boat, to which we replied that we did not plan on taking our buisness here, as the restaurant next door was more than welcoming. upon hearing this, the general manager Adam raised his voice, rushing toward us saying he owns the dock and we are kicked off the property. mind you we pain CASH to a private charter that has no association with this bar. after i myself said "we don't want trouble we will leave on our boat sir" the manager threatened to call palm beach police. upon leaving the square grouper i hear whispers of bouncers wanting to take photos of us. we got onto our charter at a dock down the street that gave us no issue, where i was met with 2 police men who approached us and informed that we are banned from square grouper from the coming year. id like to note that these officers looked more irritated to inform us of this BS warning than we were to receive it. in summary, if you run a establishment by the water in a high tourist area such as Jupiter, especially containing public dock and the "laid back" vibe they so claim, this type of treatment is irrevocably disgusting. we planned on being paying patrons at square grouper today after our trip but after the hostility and aggression i just experienced from a general manager toward us customers that were visibly DISPLEASED with the establishment to begin with (not the other way around) , i will never go here or recommend this establishment to anyone. from the beginning to end, no body was kind to us besides one older gentleman bouncer. I myself come from a fine dining background of all people understand policy, but i also understand the principle of customer service. i was nothing but kind and reasonable when speaking to Mr Adam, and to have him scream "NO you're done" in my face as a young woman trying to come to a solution was nothing short of insane. do better please, it costs nothing to be kind, and i'm sure some better hospitality would fill up all those empty tables i just saw. thank you and good riddance. read more

Had a great experience at Square Grouper in Jupiter. Received a warm greeting from Kim tho it was already getting busy. After taking our order Rebecca came by to check on us and promptly got our team on the TV for Sunday football. Then Ashley came by to give us extra napkins and some ice water to go with my salad. By the way the lime vinaigrette they have is excellent. I first had it at Square Grouper in Ft Pierce recommended by Douglas there and it's one of the reasons I went to Jupiter as well as to visit that location. Now I have 3 great reasons to visit in Kim, Rebecca and Ashley who worked hard to serve the bar, walkups and diners despite the dance floor rocking and the games all starting at the same time. Great place to eat but fell a lil short on the food but truly overall it was good an our first time. Will be back for sure and update has appropriate. Service was decent. Nothing over and beyond. Ambience is the reason people go. Worth all that for the view. Plus you can pull the boat right up and eat. It's nice to take a break from the water too. Having visited the Square Grouper Tiki Bar Jupiter Inlet a number of times over the past three years and within the past week, I continue to highly endorse that venue for the ocean front setting, the atmosphere, the entertainment, the adult beverage offerings, and, particularly, the excellent, friendly, and attentive bar servers. Of note during the visits on the recent trip were the servers, Sierra and Bri! Servers don't get better than those two. I'll look forward to the next travel visit. read more

You have to be 21 to get in here, you will get ID'd at the front by bouncers (if you look young). You go up to the bar and order food from there and get a buzzer that will tell you when it's ready to be picked up. Lots of nice seating with shade from palm trees. What a place! I started off with a John Daly as any like mind would, and it was a good balance of Daly and Palmer. Decided to order some fish and chips made with local caught grouper, what a dish! Impersonal place and the 2 "bouncers " at the entrance weren't friendly and didn't offer menus, we had to ask them but the place was dead. The food is pretty basic. We did love the smoked fish dip. My fish and chips were pretty much what I'd expect at a Dennys. Nothing special, mostly dry breading and a little bit of fish. My husband wasn't impressed with his mahi-mahi sandwich nor my FIL with his bbq sandwich. My drink was great. Loved this tiki bar! It's more than a bar -- it's an entire experience! When you arrive, you go through tiki torches to an outdoor venue along the water, with live music and several bars with thatched roofs.
