This is definitely a must-visit while in Jupiter for the atmosphere alone. Guanabanas is a gorgeous waterfront bar with tons of tropical plants that gives it a lush jungle vibe. For drinks and fun you absolutely cannot go wrong, and they keep the calendar packed with live music and events. Unfortunately food was just so-so (which is to be expected at a place like this). We tried the fried shrimp and chicken nachos, and while they weren't bad they also just weren't that good (if that makes sense). My kids quesadillas also came with rice which was super hard. I'd definitely come back again for some drinks and would probably just eat elsewhere. read more

This is a great place with a great bar & wonderful valets. The valets were very attentive to my mother who is older. The wait time they gave us was 25min at 3/4pm but it was probably 15 min. The margarita special is worth it. My mom loves a good mocktail. My mom's burger looked so good and she loved it. The location is truly scenic. Check busy times and use the seating spots (Adirondack Chairs near entrance) plus plenty of areas to sit. This place is rarely empty, so I would expect a wait around peak times. 5 stars for the atmosphere and location on the water. There were a lot of people in the bar area, both seated and standing. The bartender was great - fast and capable of handling multiple orders at one time. They have a good selection of cocktails and beers on tap. Not all drinks are on the happy hour menu, but those that are, are ample and tasty. We had the mojito and coconut something. They don't take reservations. Upon arrival, we checked in with the hostess and were given a buzzer. The wait for 2 seemed longer than for tables of 5, about 40 minutes at around 5pm on a Friday. We took our drinks and sat in the chairs out front while waiting for a table. I didn't realize until later that they have chairs in back with a view of the water where we could have waited. Because the weather was so good, sitting outside under the sails with the lush greenery and a great view was comfortable and a great experience. We started with the shrimp cocktail appetizer. The shrimp cocktail contained 6 large crisp shrimp, but the cocktail sauce was a little too heavy on the horseradish. They offered several types of fresh market fish. The coconut macademia crusted fish was very good, but the coating was so fine it just seemed like light breading. It came with fresh string beans (that weren't all trimmed). The shrimp in the tequila lime shrimp were smaller than the those in the shrimp cocktail, but there were plenty of them. It was also a little spicy. It came with really good ripe plantains. Beautiful spot for a Sunday brunch! We stopped by with friends, grabbed some drinks and wonderful seafood/salads in a lush/tropical setting. Upon arrival it was drizzling just a bit, and the complimentary valet parking is a nice touch. Once inside, we got a beautiful table right at the waterfront, and enjoyed wonderful views and great food in a relaxing environment. While the fish tacos were good, the freshly prepared seafood filet looked like the star of the meal. We took a walk around the entire restaurant after we ate, and saw all of the beautiful areas that they've designed to enhance the dining experience. If you're in the Jupiter area, this is a place you have to see and enjoy, since words alone do not do it justice. We have some dear friends who live in Jupiter and they brought us here for lunch today. I am so glad they did because it was a fantastic experience. The ambiance is outstanding along the water with all of the beautiful landscaping, bamboo and banyan trees. There are also several huge tiki huts which provide good cover from the sun or rain while dining outside. We started with a coconut mojito, margarita and bloody Mary. The menu offers both brunch and lunch items. Our party had the grilled steak salad, blackened fish with rice and beans and plantains, blackened fish tacos, and a Reuben omelette. Parking was easy, there's a pubic parking lot a walking distance away from the restaurant which I prefer, but if you want to park close, they have valet parking too. Upon entering, there were signs indicating where I should walk towards. The hostess was nice and sat me quickly. My server was Lauren, and she was awesome, very attentive, kind, and helpful. Dining on the water tonight at Guanabanas. Valet is always readily available and recommended. I always stop here at least once on my trip to Jupiter. We came around 4:30 and had to wait for about 15 min for a table on the water. We got a buzzer and sat down on the deck. When we got seated we got our drink orders right away and put our entrees in too. Service was good and food came out quickly. They ran out of coconut rum. They also don't offer Moscow mules in copper cups which I find odd. I got the A1A Lemonade. I got the avocado mango salad which is what I always get and so did the rest of my party. Visited for the first time and was very pleased with my experience. The setting from the outside to what you walk into is a total 180. From a busy road to a tropical oasis, the waterfront vibes, decor and great attitude from staff make this a fun and vibrant experience. First thing, if you want the 25 percent off you must eat in the bar. We went two nuggets in a row. First night was during happy hour and we had the $5 happy hour margarita. I had the mojito margarita. It was watery, I had the tequila lime shrimp for supper. It was very good. Great taste, had brussel sprouts and black beans as a side. This is a beautiful restaurant & a staple of Jupiter, Florida, that everybody has to visit just to say they've been there, and learn how to pronounce the restaurant name, lol! We sat at the end of the bar, I stood because the bartender barked at me that the empty seat was being used, which it never was while I was there. There was a lot of energy at this place as they don't take reservations, so there's a lot of people doing a lot of waiting and if it's not your thing, you might want to come by at a less busy time. This seating areas are all very beautiful with lots of jungle vibe and big plants everywhere and many of the seats facing the water. There was even a paddle board race starting as we arrived. We each enjoyed our drink at the bar and walked around a bit just to check it out, but couldn't wait to get out of there as it was just too chaotic. Just walking through the tropical entrance to Guanabanas makes you feel like you are on an island vacation. Even when the music isn't playing, as was the case when we went for lunch, the vibe is fun and upbeat. Being right on the water, the menu features several types of fresh fish, prepared in a variety of enticing ways. Fear not, landlubbers, there are plenty of non-fish options for you too. I enjoyed a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, which I requested to be blackened. Instead of the usual Caesar dressing, I asked for and enthusiastically received the balsamic vinegarette dressing. The salad and chicken portions were quite large and the meal was tasty. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the Mahi Rachel sandwich, which includes coleslaw and thousand island dressing atop the blackened mahi fish on thick toast. She ordered it with a side of sweet plantains instead of the seasoned potato chips. The sandwich was delicious, and the plantains were superb! Our server (Rachel?) was wonderful. She anticipated our every need - drink refills, napkins, more water, etc - and was very pleasant and truly enjoyed her job. She mentioned that Guanabanas didn't serve french fries. Once we tasted the plantains and the chips, we realized that the fries wouldn't be missed on the menu. All the seating is outdoors along the water, but it wasn't uncomfortably warm even during a FL summer day because of the sail covers providing shade as well as the fans and the misters. Although we didn't have any adult beverages from the "Liquid Kitchen" menu, we noted that the list of available drinks was as long as the list of food on the other side of the menu. The ambiance was amazing. It was just what we wanted at the end of our beach vacation. It was a patio setting with a tall thick bamboo garden right behind our table. It was water. I felt like we were in Hawaii. Three of us got the Cuban sandwich, which was moderately priced and quite delicious. My granddaughter got a shrimp cocktail. My daughters and grandchildren were nice enough to let me sample everything. It all tasted good, but I thought the Playa Rice Bowls were overpriced. I was nervous when I saw the price of the fruit and yogurt plate until they brought it out and I saw they basically brought me the whole tree! I went for brunch, which I advise going early because it fills up quick, and between the food, bottomless mimosas and all of the plants, I never wanted to leave. This place is so fun! It's definitely a place you should take out of town guests. I love getting the avocado, bacon mango salad. I always get it with blackened shrimp and it is absolutely divine. This is a really fun place for kids and families. It is right on the water. They have lots of picture opportunities. You have to take a photo at the rainbow chairs. Went to Guanabanas this weekend with my family and it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was great and we all found something we liked. I ordered the nachos and they were massive, definitely shareable! My mom loved her Palm Beacher bowl, but my brother was a little disappointed with his "Fat" Cuban sandwich since it was smaller than he anticipated and not very fat at all, lol. His girlfriend got a chicken sandwich with sweet plantains and really enjoyed it. The only miss for me was the "No-jito" mocktail. Monday nights are really quiet here and it's margarita Monday with $5 margaritas all evening. I started with a coconut Mojito and my husband enjoyed their version of a Long Island ice tea, The juice of the gods. Happy hour appetizers are 25% off until 6 o'clock, but only at the bar and high tops It's so pretty sitting along the water under the giant tiki hut watching the boats glide by.. Friends ordered the fish dip, which wasn't much of a dip, but had lots of chips and vegetables. For an entrée four of us shared two grouper dinners with corn pudding and Brussel sprouts. Our meal was delicious. Then we shared a chocolate cake and Keylime pie, which were also wonderful. We left two credit cards and our check was split in half. I had never been to this bar in the 12 years that I have lived in Palm Beach County, and in the 10 years I have lived in the West Palm area, where to go to this driving is not a haul. The food is good, the tropical drinks are decent, and the river views are scenic. The sweet and spicy smoked wings were pretty good for a starter, while I enjoyed the meatloaf melt, which wasn't too heavy and very satisfying. The tropical drinks are what you expect from most tropical-themed bars, with the Guanabanas No. 5 being a solid, heavy-rum-based cocktail that was fruity, sweet, and with lots of booze.
