Monday nights are really quiet here and it's margarita Monday with $5 margaritas all evening. I started with a coconut Mojito and my husband enjoyed their version of a Long Island ice tea, The juice of the gods. Happy hour appetizers are 25% off until 6 o'clock, but only at the bar and high tops It's so pretty sitting along the water under the giant tiki hut watching the boats glide by.. Valet parking makes it so easy. We enjoyed our loaded tater tot and alligator bite appetizers. Although they seemed a lot smaller than last time. Friends ordered the fish dip, which wasn't much of a dip, but had lots of chips and vegetables. For an entrée four of us shared two grouper dinners with corn pudding and Brussel sprouts. Our meal was delicious. Then we shared a chocolate cake and Keylime pie, which were also wonderful. We left two credit cards and our check was split in half. I looked at my phone and saw the charge which seemed almost double what we expected. Before we had a chance, our waitress came back, apologized for the mistake, and took our bills. She came back twice with two different sets of receipts . She said the bill was adjusted, but it still looked very confusing. I had never been to this bar in the 12 years that I have lived in Palm Beach County, and in the 10 years I have lived in the West Palm area, where to go to this driving is not a haul. The food is good, the tropical drinks are decent, and the river views are scenic. The sweet and spicy smoked wings were pretty good for a starter, while I enjoyed the meatloaf melt, which wasn't too heavy and very satisfying. The tropical drinks are what you expect from most tropical-themed bars, with the Guanabanas No. 5 being a solid, heavy-rum-based cocktail that was fruity, sweet, and with lots of booze. Went to Guanabanas this weekend with my family and it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was great and we all found something we liked. I ordered the nachos and they were massive, definitely shareable! My mom loved her Palm Beacher bowl, but my brother was a little disappointed with his "Fat" Cuban sandwich since it was smaller than he anticipated and not very fat at all, lol. His girlfriend got a chicken sandwich with sweet plantains and really enjoyed it. The only miss for me was the "No-jito" mocktail. It tasted more like sour mix than a fresh drink, which was a letdown. I'll definitely be back for the food, vibe and views, but will try an actual cocktail next time. read more

We went for happy hour but we didn't know you couldn't get the happy hour prices if you were at a regular table. But we went ahead and ordered drinks and apps anyway and I'm glad we did. Friends recommended this place so we drove an hour to Jupiter. The setting and vibe were 5 stars. The food 3 stars at best. My wife ordered the Cuban sandwich and I ordered the Tequila Lime Atlantic Shrimp. The Cuban was too dry probably over cooked. My side Mac and cheese was so dry I used the sauce from the shrimp to moisten it up. My wife said the key lime pie was good but not as good as Lufts. Service was ok. Coming from Colorado, I found guanabanas amazing and one of the most unique restaurants I've ever been to. It felt like a more natural rainforest cafe, as it was tucked away under foliage with outdoor seating overlooking a nice river. Very tropical feel and exceptional ambiance! I shared a salad, chips & guacamole with my boyfriend after a fun morning at the beach and it was the perfect snack. I liked that there were vegan options on the menu and shocked that you can order alligator here! The guacamole here is incredible and so fresh. Ambiance is the main reason for the four stars! I can understand how if it rained there wouldn't be much seating. Service is different each time. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not so great! Drove here yesterday for Sunday brunch. Had the breakfast burrito and it was good, but what makes this place 4 stars is the location and the service both were great experiences. We had to ask for utensils, napkins, and ketchup, and then wait a while for everything to come out. We were seated outside by the water, so bugs were expected, but it did take away from the experience. When we asked if the fans could be turned on, we were told, "I could ask, but they all turn on at once and other people may not want them on," which didn't feel very accommodating. If you attend to see music, waiting for a table will not help because the stage is surrounded by high tops. But! Sitting at high tops behind the goofy bridge folks stand on... not really buying drinks or food... they just stand there and block the view. We used to be regulars at Guana's but since the bridge construction and the happy hour changes we haven't been in almost over a year. But my cousin came down to visit and demanded he get another lime in the coconut, so we took the detour and swung in for our favorite wings and a few drinks. We were happy to see they finally added a tequila drink back to the happy hour menu called the Spring Fling and it did not disappoint, and it's actually made with a reposado! And per usual the wings were bomb, we even got a second order! You can't go wrong with a fall off the bone smoked wing with the tastiest of sauces and paired with the best dipping sauce! Every single person we came into contact with at this restaurant was extremely unfriendly, and very rude. Speaks to management, in my opinion, for all the staff to be so rude. Food - mediocre at best. Food is very expensive and just ok. Our dishes ranged from an Aloha burger to the coconut/macadamia fresh catch. We spent $175 with tip for 4 people without appetizers. I used to go here all the time for their happy hour. Prices are higher. The regular menu is kinda limited. I feel like there should be more seafood. It's a lot of chicken, burgers, turkey club. Idk but it's just not what I would expect from a tiki bar on a lagoon in this area. The prices are honestly ridiculous. $12 for chicken added to a salad?? This was our first visit after our daughter's college graduation Place is nice and clean but foods sucks and too pricey. Our daughter said she and her boyfriend went there one year ago when his mother recommended place for his birthday and foods was good but not anymore. Nothing of us eat all of it.
