The place was packed when we arrived and we were told there would be a 45-minute wait, but we were pleasantly surprised when it ended up being shorter. We started with two appetizers: the fritters and the calamari. The fritters were just okay, nothing special, but the calamari was good. Overall, the food was decent, but unfortunately the shrimp in my wrap was cold, which was disappointing. Service was a bit lacking. We had to ask for utensils, napkins, and ketchup, and then wait a while for everything to come out. Our waitress seemed uninterested and a bit annoyed for most of the meal, only becoming friendly when it was time to bring the check. We were seated outside by the water, so bugs were expected, but it did take away from the experience. When we asked if the fans could be turned on, we were told, "I could ask, but they all turn on at once and other people may not want them on," which didn't feel very accommodating. Overall, it had a nice atmosphere and decent food, but the service and a few details definitely impacted the experience. read more

This was our first visit after our daughter's college graduation Place is nice and clean but foods sucks and too pricey. Our daughter said she and her boyfriend went there one year ago when his mother recommended place for his birthday and foods was good but not anymore. Nothing of us eat all of it. I only had one bite of Aloha Burger. I paid $239.90 including 3 cocktails which are pretty pricey for drinks I forgot to mention only 4 of us. Will not go back again read more

We had a fun lunch at Guanabanas! Beautiful atmosphere that feels like you're in a rainforest - come on a nice day for the full affect! For appetizers we ordered the Buffalo chicken dip, empanadas and steamers. Steamers and Buffalo chicken dip were pretty good. The spicy shrimp wrap was delicious! It came with a yummy spicy Mayo / garlic aioli and I got the yucca fries with it which were great! The service was good. I would recommend checking this spot out! read more

This restaurant is located on a relaxing canal with gorgeous views and breezes. Service was also excellent. The food tasted good but was not at all generous in portion size. Although the ambiance was on point and worth the detour, I would not return for the food. The FAT Cuban was the skinniest I have ever seen and taste was OK. My salad with macadamia and coconut encrusted mahi mahi was good but barely had any Boston lettuce and unripe mango so meh. All in all, worth the detour once but not twice. read more

If you want to feel like you're on a tropical resort, Guanabanas is your place! From the treelined paths and winding walkways and colorful Adirondack chairs throughout the restaurant and on the dock. I stopped in twice in my trip to Jupiter.. live music starting late afternoon and night. My only gripe the first night was I was not expecting they'd close as early as they do. This is a great restaurant to go to if you want to feel like you're on vacation! The thatched roof and palm trees make the restaurant feel very tropical, and the setting along the water is lovely! There was a wait so we got drinks and drank them in Adirondack chairs along the water until our table was ready. The food was good but nothing to call home about. I got the mushroom and Swiss burger which was cooked exactly how I asked and was super tasty! The popcorn shrimp is great but the portion was very small for a $35 dish. The burger was only $16 so definitely better bang for my buck. I'll definitely come back here for the great ambiance and live music! read more

So I always heard about this spot but never been. I was in the area and decided to give them a try for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is very vacation like. I'm positive this spot is a hit for happy hour or dinner! My tequila based drink was pretty weak to be $15, so I was pretty bummed about that. I also ordered a lemon drop shot and that was much better. As for the food, the appetizers were good we had Mexican street corn flat bread and spicy jalapeño popcorn shrimp. My entree was decent but I wouldn't order it again. I was not a fan of the breading on the grouper.. it was almost like a frozen not fresh taste. Our waiter was very attentive and he even helped us with recommendations on what to eat. Overall our brunch was decent but the hype for this place is...dining by the water. What a lovely Valentines date we had at Guanabanas! If you're looking for a slice of tropical paradise with a Florida breeze, the most whimsical ambience and views, and great food, this is the spot! When we arrived there was a 30 minute wait for patio seating--no problem! We grabbed a drink at the bar (I had a habanero infused tequila and soda with lime and hubby had a killer tropical cocktail I cannot remember) and headed to the adirondacks on the water to relax and enjoy the view. We watched birds fly by and paddle boarders scoot along the water. When we were seated, our server, Kara, promptly greeted us with absolutely fantastic service. We started with the gulf steamers and they were outstanding. For our entrees, we had the tile fish and the smoke house burger. We both devoured our food! We ended our dinner with a coconut cream pie that didn't last more than two minutes on the table. As we dined, we enjoyed the loveliest breeze and watched the sun set. It was truly the most relaxing dinner we've had in months! We love Guanabanas and cannot wait to return! read more

This place is absolutely amazing, the atmosphere is fantastic, I could stay there all day. Plenty of items to choose from the menu, plenty of drinks available, lots of waterside seating, take a look at their website for the different rooms they have available. Whoever decorated this place did a wonderful job. The staff was very friendly, very prompt, the bathrooms were clean, the food was delicious. Parking is valet. I highly recommend you stop by this place, seriously. read more

Such a gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful! Gorgeous views from all around, especially during sunset. The blackened fish fresh catch sandwich was recommended by a few of the workers and it didn't disappoint. The loaded nachos and fish dip (not pictured in time) were delicious as well! Ordered a few drinks for the table (also not pictured in time) and would definitely recommend the mango mojito from here. To end, the service overall was great. We walked in without reservation, on a weekend, was seated in just a few minutes and appetizers were served within 15 min of being seated. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Food was beyond bland !! Almost $50 for a filet which is fine- but not for one with NO flavor. Feel like I just wasted my money. Hostess told me I can seat myself at a high top (I did) 20 minutes went by- I went up to the front and said oh there isn't a server in that section. They should have absolutely specified what area to sit in, instead of saying any of the high tops--- AND there was another couple sitting and waiting in the area I was in and I had to let them know so they could move. Went to the bar and they were incredibly rushy - ended up getting my food to go, no silverware in the bag. All around a horrible experience. Never coming back. Regret coming here. read more

The great ambiance and service were overshadowed by the paltry portions and high prices. A Skinny Margarita had a fat price of $15. The gator bites ($16.95) were nibbles, if that, topped with spicy cabbage in an 8 oz. bowl. It was overpriced for what some would say is roadkill. The "Fat Cuban Sandwich" ($14.95) was the smallest we've ever seen, anywhere. The shrimp wrap consisted of small PIECES of shrimp, lettuce, bits of tomato and a soaking of spicy mayo. The "homemade" chips were mediocre. We chatted with the manager who, as is customary, said she'd talk to the kitchen staff. LOL The slice of Key Lime pie ($10.98) was "complimentary." The tab for lunch for three, with gratuity was $154. This restaurant sells ambience, not good food. read more

I love Guanabanas and it is always a stop on my trips back to Jupiter! They have such a cool space with tons of trees and views of the water. The service is usually quick and I usually can grab a quick drink at the bar if there is ever a wait for a table. They have a wide selection of food but I usually just have a drink or a small bite. Will return. The hosts said 35 minutes wait on a Saturday at 3:19pm. We're seated at 3:49, to the best table in the house, imho. Diners come by cars and boats. The strong wind makes 89 degrees day comfortable. Live music. The hosts and table server are all very good and professional. The restaurant is huge with many corners. As we're airing at the bar, a fellow diner said she's a bar owner and the bar tender she fired is working here now We've ~ steamers - good ~ tequila lime shrimps - yummy, all three ~ po boy catfish sandwich - tasteless, from the fish to chips, that feels old The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc by Chateau Souverain - part of Gallo group, is decent. we have been here before, and it was always crowded. Tonight it wasn't but it also was a Monday night, which may explain why it wasn't crowded. The food was its usual, very good tasting and well prepared although the portions seemed to be less than previous times we were here. We got here a little before five since they have a happy hour. They have a happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6. Sitting by the water adds to the atmosphere We enjoyed our loaded tater tot and alligator bite appetizers. Our entrée of grouper and corn pudding as well as brussels sprouts was very good as well. I would've given them a five except there was an issue with the bill. The first time we got the bill they were items included that we didn't order. Our waitress came back and corrected it, but the bill was still wrong. Finally the third time the bill was correct. We didn't see a trail on the bills in other words a credit for the incorrect bill followed by a credit for the second incorrect bill however, Jen, the general manager came to our table and assured us that everything would be OK with the billing yes we rated it a four where is the other experiences with five star experiences. Would we go back again? Definitely we would. read more

Guanabanas is a must when vacationing in Jupiter. It's located on the water and the ambience screams tropical vacation. There's often fun bands playing and a good crowd of people. While I personally haven't loved the meals I've eaten here, I definitely recommend coming here for happy hour, drinks, and dancing. read more

We had a really nice experience at this restaurant in Jupiter recently. Our waitress was Shanna, and she was delightful, friendly, and was knowledgeable about gluten-free preparation. We were meeting some friends and family and she was very patient with our slowness of ordering. We had the soup of the day, which was the lobster bisque, the Huevos Ranchero, the triple-tail catch of the day, the classic fried shrimp and fries, the fat Cuban, and the shrimp eggs Benedict. By far, the shrimp eggs, Benedict were a big hit along with the Grilled triple tail catch of the day (GF). The Huevos Ranchero was a bit small and undewhelming. The setting is very nice as it's right on one of the marsh canals so you've got a lot of active boating and wildlife around you. Great experience and will be back. read more

The ambiance of this beautiful restaurant does not make up for its heinous food. We ordered the fish tacos, steamers and nachos. The steamers were just regular littleneck clams. Even the waiter admitted theyre not steamers. The taco shell fell apart in my hand. The nachos were low on every topping. Drinks took 20 min to reach the table. 15 before a waiter took our order. All in all a 2 star experience at best read more

Been here four times now with all honesty unfortunately it seems to be going a little bit south. Chicken was rubbery on my Caesar and for the most part I still think the prices are a little bit higher than they should be. Atmosphere is always pretty cool but had a young kid band playing, which was decent just a little bit loud, my wife was very happy with her food and my two daughters were as well somewhat delighted. Try again in a few more weeks. read more

We came to guananbanas for a quick lunch on a Saturday. They have right up front valet which makes it easy to get in and out. We got right in and sat at a table with a beautiful view. Our server was very nice and efficient. We both got the special ( grouper ) I got it blackened and my husband got it grilled. We both enjoyed the fish. We did think it was a little pricey ($39) for a slice of grouper but overall we will return for lunch. read more

This a a cool restaurant! We went on a weeknight and it wasn't crowded, maybe because it was December (so, cooler) and raining. The seating is semi-outdoor, which I can imagine is very pretty during the day time where you can watch the harbor and the boats. The food is spot on! Great spot by the water. Laid back vibes, we were in swimsuits/coverups due to a beach day. You can arrive by boat or car. The entire restaurant is open air. Their mixed drinks are pretty consistent. I've always been happy with my drink. I tried the Smokey Marg for the 1st time and it was so delicious. The chili salt rim really set it off. We ordered from the First Wave section to share. The Loaded Chicken Nachos were so good. Fresh ingredients and flavorful. The Mexican Street Corn Flatbread was kind of dry. A little disappointing. The Customer Service was great! They do have valet. History

Established in 2008.

Opened by Jupiter surfers as a sandwich shop in 2004, Guanabanas has grown to become an institution in northern Palm Beach County for three reasons: The lush, tropical setting; great cuisine and cocktails (long gone are the sandwich shop days!); and live music from both national acts and the hottest names in South Florida. Guanabanas is a 100 percent open-air restaurant and bar with woven tiki huts and banyan trees towering overhead, and hand-chiseled coquina stone pathways underfoot. The team maintains a laid-back, island atmosphere where everyone is welcome.

Apps Burgundy Escargot (Pernod Garlic-Parsley Butter) We asked for a recommendation from the appetizer section of their menu (perfect amount of selections by the way...I despise an encyclopedic menu). We were thinking escargot and we were so pleased that it was recommended...that sealed the deal. It was garlicky and buttery and served with the perfect white bread. Spot on. Entrees were freaking fantastic! Florida Black Grouper (Creamed Kai Kai Farms Mustard Greens, Colab Farms Glazed Carrots, Carrot Marmalade) I never order grouper. I go out of my way to order it because I don't enjoy white fish usually. Something spoke to my spirit (plus our amazing server highly recommended it) and I went against my natural inclination. Lawd have mercy I'm glad I did. That grouper was perfectly seared, flaky, flavorful and completed excellently by the mustard greens and carrots. I do t know what the sauce was in the plate but it was savory a bit earthy in the best possible way with a twinge of sweetness that made me want to lick the plate ‍ (hey I'm from Mississippi...we do that ). Needless to say there wasn't a morsel of food left in my plate. Other reviews complained about small portions. I beg to differ it was a perfect portion, and I have a biiiiig appetite. Guanabanas is awesome! I was going back between rating this Tiki Bar-Restaurant a 3, 4, or 5. Since I've been to this establishment numerous times I have noticed some inconsistencies but man the atmosphere is incredible, right on the water, with a bar area and a more secluded section for family dinners outside. The service is hit or miss, usually pending how busy they are. I used to order the frozen crab claws before they were taken off the menu and were excellent. I've had numerous items on the menu and usually it's well cooked and very flavorful but I've had times when I shook my head. If you go here you must get the corn-pudding as a side. It's extremely tasty and one of my favorite sides I've had anywhere. The valet parking is convenient, like many restaurants in the area, but quicker than most. They also turn it into a bar/club on the weekends after 9pm and have live music. It's a fun place to go and if you take everything into account it's certainly at least 4 star material. What a beautiful place, an expertly designed paradise right on the old Loxahatchee River. With the right wait staff and a better cook this place would be fantastic. After eating at Guanabanas several times over the past few years I am embarrassed by the wait staff and maitre d'. What poor unprofeesional attitudes from the maitre d'. They are just young ladies who have no experience dealing with the public and obviously no training or supervision. The Maitre d's are usually rude and course. Always expect a good 1/2 hour to hour wait for a table even with empty tables so numerous even a moran would say "hey, whats going on here?" And you guys don't take reservations? The food, at those prices is not consistent; it's either bad or lose your mind fantastic but even that ends quickly because the portions are small. Guanabanas is inconsistent. I like to impress my freinds and out of town family when I'm taking then there but I'm mindful that I might get a good screwing... I've learned not to talk up the place before I get there. read more

Horrible horrible experience. Very different from out last visit during the day when we had Tara as our server. Spent over $300.00 for a party of five, quote an hour and a half wait when there were open tables everywhere, waited 35 token minutes before getting seated, server forgot appetizer, food arrive 35 minutes after placing order, all cold and inedible. Sent back small skirt steak $26.00, arrived back 15 minutes later, still the same piece of cold lifeless meat. Server totally not attentive to table, although seemed to be attentive to her other tables, guess we did not meet her idea of paying guests. Will not go back, horrible horrible experience. Went to celebrate daughter and son in laws first anniversary and the birth of their first baby, wish I had chose somewhere else. What a tourist trap from this visit, certainly not what we experienced a couple of weeks ago when we dined there right before the baby came!! Guanabanas is one of the coolest tiki bar/restaurants I have ever been in, it seriously is awesome. Another pro was the drinks, we had coconut mojitos and piña colada's and they were all fantastic. The service was a little bit on the slower side even though the place wasn't really that busy but that I can get past. The food I didn't care for, I order fish tacos and when it came out I was shocked. For the price and what you get wasn't worth it, the fish was a little bland and the size was tiny. It was like lunchables tacos. Super tiny. And my friend ordered the nachos which were massive and overall decent but you can tell the cheese was most likely microwaved on top of the chips, as the chips underneath had no cheese or any of the other accompaniments that are in a nachos grande. Would I come back? I'm not sure, there are so many tiki bars in Jupiter and places with way better food. If I did come back it would be to the bar on their happy hour. read more

Drove wedding party of 20 people there 3/19 in a small bus. Valet said go ahead park up front. An hour later a very rude heavy set man walked by yelling for me to move. I was shocked at his lack of customer service, and asked who he was. He claimed to be the executive chef, which I thought was strange. I asked him to go get management, he said no and he did not care, cause he was the owners right hand man, and that i should never come back. Then he ran over to publicly scold the valet in public. I moved my bus, cause Im a responsible business owner- and I wont stoop to his inmature level. **Would Not Recommend** I recently visited this waterfront restaurant with my family, anticipating a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, every cocktail we ordered was absolutely disgusting. Initially, I thought my drink was an isolated issue, but after trying my family members' cocktails, I found they were all equally unpalatable. We politely expressed our concerns to the server, who seemed surprised when we mentioned that all the drinks were unsatisfactory, especially since she claimed multiple ones were house favorites. Although she offered to replace the drinks, we declined, as none of them tasted right. Overall, this establishment is overrated and overpriced. I would advise against it if you're seeking quality cocktails! read more

Beautiful place, terrible food, "terrible customer service" Our waitress was like a ghost, we didnt see her. After our lunch we had to wait around 30 minutes or so to get the check, my boyfriend payed in cash so the ghost waitress said "I'll be right back with your change" and she never came back. She just took all the money and left us there, waiting for 20 minutes, by the time we left the restaurant her shift was over too cause we crossed paths in the street, she seemed a little bit nervous but she said good bye like nothing ever happened. So I feel bad about Guanabanas, though they probably dont know they are hiring thieves. I wouldnt reccomend the place, and I know I am not going back there again. read more

Okay, I have to RATE THE SERVICE A 5 STAR, Ariel was great, took our orders, got our drinks, had the appetizer and food delivered all in about 20 to 25 mins, she was spectacular. Now I have a huge question, how can any restaurant serve a burger so good, so perfectly cooked, juicy, and NOT HAVE GREAT FRENCH FRIES to go with it?, WTH!! Chips instead, NO FREAKIN WAY, you have too good of a burger to not have fries. Your burger was as good as Brass Rings, but again, I ask, why no fries??? I recently dined at Guanabanas in Jupiter, FL, and it was a delightful experience. My boyfriend and I tried the Spicy Pink Senorita and Guanabanas Loaded Chicken Nachos. The Spicy Pink Senorita was a fiery delight - if you're not a fan of spice, this might not be for you, but I loved it! The Guanabanas Loaded Chicken Nachos were a highlight, generous enough to share with 2-3 people and packed with flavor. The combination of tender chicken, savory toppings, and crispy chips was a winner. Overall, our visit was fantastic, from the scenic location to the friendly staff. Normally my review of this place would be much higher. I love the atmosphere, I love the food, delicious. I just happend to have the worst waitress of all time. It has to be hard to ignore a table when they can see what you are doing the whole time at your server station, but she managed. We had to wait 20 minutes for her to collect our check and give us our change. And I heard her mutter under her breath to her fellow server how we can wait. Not smart. Don't let that stop you from going. Besides the bad service the food is good, and it is a really fun place to have lunch. You can also drive your boat there. read more

Went there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. The atmosphere is awesome. You feel like you are on a little tropical island with tiki huts etc. We ate at the bar because the wait for tables was about 35mins. We ordered the coconut shrimp and conch fritters as appetizers. Both items were delicious and the "Rincon Heat" hot sauce that is their house specialty is amazing. Had to take a bottle home. As an entree I ordered the Avocado Bacon Mango Salad and added the Macadamia Coconut Crusted catch of the day which happened to be grouper. I loved it!! First Visit the food was amazing, second visit it was not as amazing but very good. Either which way Guanabanas deserves a 5 star. Certain dishes liking can be a matter of personal preference however executed with excellence. The corn pudding is absolutely delish, loved the fish, I had a Mojito which was OK, though they did give me a portion of simple syrup to adjust the Mojito upon my request with no problem or questions asked. So the mojito went from OK to Good! the place is gorgeous and on the water, kids loves it, its nice for a date as well. read more

My first time here and I ordered a Cuban sandwich. It was a decent bite, but too much mayonnaise, which is a first for me. I would give it 2 stars. The rest room needs improving. With mayo on my beard (and wiped off at the table) I went to the men's room to wash my mouth and there were no paper towels to dry with, only wall mounted hand dryer that blew downward. If this place is supposedly "green" then they should be serving cloth napkins at the table and not paper. Very disappointed. Overall I give this place 2 stars. read more

Had a good experience eating outside on the patio, with a great veiw of the water. Our server, Ashton, was great too. We were with a party of 5 and a baby and they were very accommodating. Our only complaint was that 2 of us ordered the $14 fish tacos, only came with 2 tacos/no side, which we knew upon ordering, but both of us had to eat them with a fork and knife bc the tortillas fell completely apart. My fiance ordered the fish sandwich which was awesome and got veggies for a side and those were delicious also! read more

The guy at the door didn´t let me in because I didn´t have my passport with me, even when I showed him my country ID and he just said sorry with a big smile on his Cuban face to me and my american boyfriend who asked him if it was like that everywhere because we´re from California so we were not familiar with the place and he was like laughing at us saying that it was going to be like that everywhere. I had heard so much about this place that my husband and I brought some out of town guests and decided to give it a try. Not impressed. Loud, tons of bugs, and the food was awful. We accidentally spilled a drink, and instead of offering assistance, the staff just gave us a towel to clean up the mess ourselves. No one came to check on us afterward, which was frustrating. I don't usually bring the young ones out to eat, but this place IS kid/family friendly so we gave it a shot. Complimentary valet parking is nice. Such a fun place!!! Will definitely bring out of town guests here. Great for birthdays or special occasions. They have live music most nights and a jungle-like atmosphere.
