It would be hard for me to write anything bad about Papi Chulo's since I'm there almost every week. Cleve and his team have created a beautiful concept in a restaurant space that hasn't worked for 30 other concepts before. Now a staple in the Jupiter market, even though it's located in Tequesta. Papi Chulo's does everything right. The ambiance is Florida chic and cool, yet still fits nicely into the Mexican category. With such a small space, they make the most of it. Serving some of the best Mexican food in town. I'm only competing with Calaveras down the road by Curtis. Both are unique and both are good. My favorites here are the steak quesadilla, which I could eat any day, the nachos--although I swap out the chicken-- which are absolutely amazing, and basically all of the tacos. They have the cutest outdoor patio area and although we couldn't snag a seat there it was nice to hang out and enjoy the vibes while we waited for our table. Really great taco restaurant! We went around 2:30 on a Saturday and still had about a 10min wait because it's so popular. They have a Papi Hour menu with 50% OFF drinks and discounts on some menu items, which was great savings. I ordered the El Dorado margarita that had an incredible blackberry and basil flavor full of fresh fruit pieces. For my meal I tried a combination of 3 tacos. The Gringo Freedom Taco was my favorite with tender ground beef seasoned with a slight spice, fresh pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce on a hard shell. Delicious food, great atmosphere (excellent music), good service, and fair prices at happy hour. Parking was fine but I can imagine it being an issue during peak hours, it's a small lot. There are some covered patio tables as well as a recreation area in the back with a ping pong table and corn hole - this must only be in the evenings as it was all put away during our lunch visit. Indoors seating was limited, but on a Monday at 1pm we were sat and served immediately. The happy hour specials are what made this experience so positive - the drinks would be pretty pricy if paying regular price ($14-$17/drink). However my pineapple mojito was excellent. The food specials were great too - the gringa tacos only $4 each, chips and queso cheaper, many food specials included. My husband loved his Chicken Burrito. Best in his life he said - he loved the sauce it was served with. My tacos were delicious! The shells were obviously fresh and crunchy. The street corn was very good too. After some errands, we decided to go to PapiChulo for some tacos and a drink. Smart move on our part. We were greeted and seated quickly, though it's a small place, you may have to wait. Once seated we found it to be too cold, we were under the Air Con vent and it was blowing! We spoke with the hostess who took it to the manager. So three tacos, beans, and rice. The barbacoa was tender, juicy, and flavorful like I've never had barbacoa before. I'd say, it's the best I've tasted. My wife got the gringo tacos which are ground beef, kind of the classic taco we all know. Those were also spot on. Note: I could not eat all three of my barbacoa, they were quite full of meat and filling. Plus I was saving room for dessert. We ordered the doughnuts. Another good choice. For dinner, I had a blackened fish taco and a coconut shrimp taco. Both were excellent but I preferred the fish one, and it was INCREDIBLE. There was a wonderful balance of flavors. In deciding what to have for dinner, a friend of mine highly recommended PapiChulo's since we were in the area. Our kids were kind of rowdy so she figured the outside atmosphere would be a great place for them to run around, although it was a little stressful with the cars speeding by right there. The service was very slow and at one point the manager was doing his rounds to make sure that everyone had what they needed, which we didn't so he ended up buying us a round of drinks, which was great customer service. Our server was very nice, just seemed very distracted. As far as the food, I was very impressed and I liked how I could order a la carte instead of committing to 2 or 3 of the same taco. The menu explicitly states "no substitutions" but I still asked our server if I could remove anything and add something else, to which she said that's fine, you'll just be charged for anything you add, even if you take something off, which I find cheeky but whatever. It's nice that they have a lot of vegetarian options, just no vegan options so if I wanted to take off the avocado crema, I'd get charged to put a slice of actual avocado on there. If I were the business owner, I'd consider adding a vegan option. Overall, I really enjoyed dinner and it was a wonderful evening. Parking is a bit of a challenge so you might have to park in the plaza next door, which says it's prohibited but our car was fine. The prices here are reasonable but it definitely adds up after ordering a few dishes. We will definitely be back, probably at happy hour next time! read more

This place is AMAZING There is always a line out the door, and I'm now know why! I tried their gator tacos and coconut shrimp taco, and my dining companion had chicken enchiladas. Tacos were super fresh and had such amazing and colorful additions. The flavors were astounding. The enchiladas were creamy and soft and hot and delicious. The bar was a little sticky. Place has only a few tables and if it is raining outside everyone rushes in, as it is not fully covered. It's a cute, local, easygoing place. I highly recommend it. We have been going here for a few years on Taco Tuesday. Cute place just over the bridge on US 1 in Tequesta. On Tuesdays they have tacos and street corn for 3.75 each. All drinks are half price.
