The newly renovated front bar area is very nice too! The exposed brick and the wood bar keep the vibes cozy and inviting. The back bar area has plenty of room for dining and socializing. Wait staff are friendly and helpful and have gone out of their way to accommodate my kids and their tastes. We have been to several community events here. They offer traditional bar fare and appetizers, but in the past several years, they have expanded the German food menu. You really can't go wrong with any of it! On Wednesdays, Tiny's offers soup flights and all of the choices are excellent.

The food wasn't very good, my friend ordered German potato salad, but got coleslaw, which was turning bad. Potato skins were wedges - not much cheese and very little bacon. We had to ask for every refill of soda/water, even though we tipped well, we waited at least 15 minutes for the bill until the guy behind the bar noticed and came to our assistance. We stayed and talked, but somebody turned the music up so loud we had to go outside to finish our conversation. Neither of us will return.

Coming to this Columbia, Illinois hot spot and enjoying the atmosphere you can see why. Be prepared to seeing it totally packed on the weekends. I wanted to see the two bartenders I personally consider the stars of the venue Abigail and Kassidy. As beautiful and talented as you obviously see they are it's their guest service and personalities win the day. Two sweeter and more genuine individuals I challenge you to find anywhere. I'm going to be 100% honest I actually do get nervous coming into see them. It's hard to imagine seeing two angels on Earth. All the girls rock and provide premier service. I lived in St Louis for 14 years and I must say this would definitely be my spot if I still lived in the area. With Abigail and Kassidy it's like coming back and seeing friends I've known. I get that impression it's their style with all guest. I travel the country and these two are my two favorites anywhere. I'd highly recommend if you're a first timer you request them. They're hard working and get their business done. And tip the well!!! They deserve it. Thank you. Michael J Beal Clearwater, Florida.

I LOVE bars like the Fountain Inn. Unpretentious. Made for locals. And a bar where Michelob Ultra is considered a "hoity toity" beer. But the Fountain Inn was far from a dive. While the exterior of the building may look a little worn, the interior was recently renovated and updated. They even had a roomba to sweep the floor! How high tech. The flow of the bar was open and airy with lots of places to sit and enjoy a cold one on a nice warm day. Outside of the Fountain Inn, there's tons of seating. It was easy to keep your distance. There was also a stage set up with a man in overalls playing a little too much Johnny Cash. But I didn't care. It was live music and Nathan kept the $2 Stag beers coming. I didn't mind the drive from Soulard to the Fountain Inn. It made for a really relaxing mini-day trip.

I love that the…read morerestaurant's name is a nod to the building's history as a former schoolhouse, which now beautifully houses both the Principal Hotel and Graphite. Both feel like elevated, unexpected gems in a small town. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with the half chicken portion, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with perfectly crispy, crunchy skin. The service was excellent, and our waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the evening. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The restrooms were also spotless and well maintained. It is clear that a lot of care goes into every aspect of the guest experience. My only minor criticism is the size of the drink glasses. Once ice is added, there is not much room left for the actual beverage. My parents found themselves needing refills more frequently than they typically would at other restaurants. It was not a major issue, but slightly larger glasses might make things more convenient for both guests and staff. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. Being observant is part of great service... ambiance has a lot to come desired way to many young teenage girls running around...not what I'd expect for a couple of drinks and $100 tab! Been there three times drinks are always good but the food has been subpar every time! Had three appetizers stuffed portabella mushrooms I'd give a 3 no taste, Mac and cheese bites dry and tasteless a 2 (bought some at schnucks a few weeks ago and they were much better) the steak skewers maybe a 2.5 had so much what they called pesto which looked and tasted like wet grass, once we removed the wet grass the steak was over cooked but well seasoned... My suggestion would be to hire a new chef and decide a direction or speciality focus (Italian, American or gastro pub and stick with it! Sorry but third strike you're out, we won't be back! We enjoy sitting upstairs or on the back patio in nicer weather - so many options for a get-together with friends. Service at the bar and the food service counter are excellent. Staff are friendly and always have helpful suggestions. We recently came for Sunday lunch the week of Christmas, and there wasn't much of a crowd. This was great for a relaxed lunch with the kids and brother visiting from out of town. Plenty of seating! There are kid-friendly options here, with the pizza and pub snack menu. My picky daughter (not a fan of pizza) enjoys the pretzels. There is something for everyone. The salads have fresh ingredients, made-to-order. Pizzas on the menu are excellent and can also be modified or build-your-own. Pizzas and other hot appetizers come out on paper-lined pans. When ordering salads, they come in a takeout box rather than a plate or dish. You may need an additional box or plate, because the salads are packed full and you might have a mess! Utensils are plastic. There is a bit of a disconnect because the food and overall cozy vibe seem worthy of real plates and silverware ;) but the plus side is quick table turnover on the busy days or the days where everyone is out on the patio. It's nice to be able to order and pay at the food service counter. You will want to stay a while, but you'll be free to leave whenever you're ready to move on to your next stop!
