Great food and service. We drive the motorcycle from STL here and it was a nice ride to a great place for our breakfast!

We stopped by for some drinks and an appetizer and were not disappointed! The pretzel bites were warm and salty! It was Friday so the special was a $10 margarita pitcher! Can't beat it! It's a super cute pub! Service was great! read more

Washy's Pub - Crown and Coke and a $10 Friday margarita pitcher! - Bars Near Me - Columbia, Illinois

This local pub draws a lot of regulars as well as the occasional visitor like me. They have daily food specials. Corned beef with all usual was featured the day of our visit since it was St Pats Day!! Sunday they feature their fried chicken (always on the menu but a reduced price on Sunday). We had 7 of us and 2 ordered the chicken. It is good! My selection was the chicken pot pie. It had an even mixture of veggies and chicken- big pieces of chicken too. The crust is only on the top and a bit thinner than what I typically see but still it was pretty good. I was curious about the fried bologna sandwich so I ordered one to cut up as an appetizer for the table. It was yummy of course. Horrible for you but yummy. Portions here tend toward the larger side. Our service was fair- waitress was friendly but very forgetful. Bar staff is also outgoing and happy to help. They have a good beer selection, full bar of spirits but limited wine options. But at least they have wine! read more

Great fried chicken. Good prices, friendly staff. We will definitely return to this restaurant.

My husband ordered a drink from a male bartender and a rude, out of control girl brought it 15mins later and it was watered down and he was not happy with it. She literally challenged his dislike for the drink stating "that's what you ordered!" Her name is Kenzie and she continued to engage in a highly inappropriate verbal exchange with my husband and I. She first began with him and then refused to serve his food and literally shoved it at him. She said to him, "are you going to eat or are you leaving" as she served everyone else at the table except him. I had to get up and confront her with her outrageousness! She continued to escalate her crazy behavior towards paying customers!!! If she were my employee, I would fire her on the spot! Our experience at this restaurant was shocking and disgraceful! Kenzie wasn't even our waitress, so not sure why she was accosting us like she was. She even came over with a broom and was sweeping right near us while we were eating! Our actual waitress's name was Elsie, pleasant and efficient! There were four of us and we will never go into your restaurant again because of her. She is definitely disturbed and a detriment to your restaurant. We will spread the word! read more

Washy's Pub - Disturbed waitress at Washy's Pub in Columbia Illinois - Bars Near Me - Columbia, Illinois

I sat for fifteen minutes waiting to be served, when I was eventually waited on me and my two boys ordered wings. Couple next to us came in ten minutes after we did. Their food came out before us, going on 40minutes and no wings yet. Absolutely worst experience ever here. The waitress said she was tired and hated people. Well I think waiting now 50 minutes for wings is stupid. read more

Washy's Pub - Bathroom - Bars Near Me - Columbia, Illinois

One of the best locations in town for American food. Fried chicken is great. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

We had some really great burgers here. Service was good - what you'd expect for a bar and grill!

I got the fried cod platter and my wife got the cod sandwich. Terrific! For the sides, we got tater tots, Cole slaw and onion rings and they were good too. Highly recommended! read more

We walked in at 8 am on a Sunday morning, two other tables were present. The service was awful....it took minutes to get a drink while everyone was moving at an extremely slow pace with no concern of people's time. In ordered a standard breakfast with an egg, pattied sausage and toast. The sausage was inedible- it was as hard as a rock. Everything else was ok. No flavor, just your regular breakfast. I was super excited to see a new restaurant in town but completely let down in ways of service and food. I would give zero stars, but the interior is at least updated... I had high hopes for the new owner.. I'll try again another day, maybe. read more

First trip to Washy's Pub. Excellent service, great Stag Beer on draft and good burgers. Still in the rehabbing stage so rated low but once completed I'm thinking this place is going to rank up as a place where I go for a game, chilly Stag and fun times! read more

I had patty melt and baked beans and it was good. Patties were moist. Daughter ordered toasted ravioli. It good and crispy.

Great food! Kenzie was amazing. Obviously fresh made. Loved it! Nine dollar pitcher margaritas were AMAZING! I had special food requests and they happily accommodated! read more

Came this week for breakfast and hubby waited for lunch. I called first to see when they stopped serving breakfast and was told 11: 00. Got there at 10 till and the waitress asked if the cook could do one more breakfast. Husband had to wait 10 minutes before be could order lunch. Fine. By breakfast platter was $12 and looked like a child made it. TERRIBLE. Won't be back read more

I am a fairly regular customer, and this is great, consistent food. The service is awesome...always. Bar selection is great also! Highly recommend for a casual, relaxed evening. read more

Love that new owners came to this pub! Menu is very similar to when it was Merz. They are still undergoing remodeling but already it's such an improvement! We checked out the AYCE fried chicken. The pic is of the first plate. They give you 3 pieces of either white, dark or mixed with 2 sides. Chicken was delicious and you can order as much more as you want. The fries were hot, crispy and tasty too. They sprinkle a little salt and pepper for nice spice. The staff was so friendly. And they DO NOT charge you to use a credit card. Instead they offer a 4% discount if you pay cash. We were there early and by the time we left at 6:30 the place was packed. I think the new owners are on their way to doing really well!! I would have loved to stay and watch the Blues tonight but we had other obligations. We will definitely be back! read more

Typical bar with bar food. Not the best columbia has to offer but it works when you're hungry and in need of some food! The wings are great but that's really about it. Service can be slow at times and I find it weird they have all these tvs but they are never on and the only music that plays is from the kitchen. I guess whatever floats your boat. Makes it hard to have a conversation because I feel like everyone can hear my whole conversation. Last time we went both my parents were ill after eating here. us kids stuck to wings and burgers and they ventured out to chili and meatloaf so maybe that was the issue. If you're looking for a burger and wings this is not a bad place to stop and eat at especially if you're alone. read more

First time to Washy's Pub, been to Washy's Saloon in Waterloo, the food was great, the server Briana was the best, kind, friendly and quick with a refill. the only thing that kept this review from being a five star was the prices on the bill were a tad higher than what the menu showed. Ok bar food. Friendly servers. Took forever to get food. About 30 minutes to get tenderloin sandwich and a cheese burger. Hamburger needed seasoning or flavor. Fries??? Not sure if its the oil fried in or the brand. Just ok. Will maybe return to try breakfast. read more

We tried Washys for lunch. Service was so bad... They did not put our food order in and we wait for an hour! They would really have to change a lot of things before I would ever go back. Great fried chicken! It's a small pub but with hat makes it homey and the wait staff are like friends. Chicken is the best but burgers and sandwiches are okay as well. We plan to go back once all the COVID stuff passes, as soon hey don't really have a patio area for outdoor dining read more

Stopped by for lunch while in the area. We were seated immediately despite the place being almost full to capacity. Service was great. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and my guest got the daily burger special. Both were excellent. Would for sure return again next time in the area. Cool bar and would be fun to have a drink some evening. I was told it has been under newer ownership and that they spent some money renovating the place. Great updated look that is inviting. read more

Washy's Pub formerly Merz on Main using the same food as before. From what I can tell nothing new has been added to the menu and it appears as if the menu has be cut down. The new owner is trying to make what was a nice local pub in to something fancy at the cost of food portions and prices. After two visits since the new ownership this will probably be my last time. Although the atmosphere remains, the cost and portions of food is disappointing. The staff is friendly and was the only reason it got 2 stars. read more

Great breakfast, very friendly service by the whole team, Jason included! Clean and inviting atmosphere.

The service is terrible the tables were not cleaned when we came in. It took 20 minutes to find a person to take out order and they never came to refill our drinks the place looks overall dirty. And they for got to put our order in we waited 50 min and we finally asked they didn't do anything for us this is the worst place in Columbia IL McDonalds is better read more

I used to frequent this place until they started charging 4% for using your debit/check card. They are not giving a discount, they ad a surcharge onto their regular prices. Although the law and their cc agreement, allow them to give a cash discount up to 4% off the regular price, they ad 4% not discount the regular price, and they cannot surcharge credit cards on the posted price. (They can give you a cash discount off that price) Check/debit cards per federal law and Visa/MC rules are exempt from discounts and surcharges, because the retailer only pays a swipe fee. A surcharge is when a merchant charges a customer an additional fee to cover the cost of accepting credit cards. The surcharge is a percentage of the sales amount and cannot exceed 4 percent or what the merchant pays in swipe rates. Surcharges cannot be levied on debit cards or prepaid credit cards. It's important to note that a merchant cannot add a fee on top of the usual price of an item and then give a discount at the register if the customers pays cash. (See the passage of the Durbin Amendment in 2010) Dodd Franck Act sec 920 The hamburger I bought was excellent. The place is remodeled nice, but they also raised the beer prices about a third, and that ran all the regulars out. After I complained to Visa/MC I was assured Washy's was schooled on the laws, but obviously did not change anything. If you use your debit/check card and charged a fee, your bank will have the charge taken off. My bank has done that for me 9 times, but I feel it is not worth my effort to keep going to the place. read more
