Four of us, two couples, went to Corner Chill & Grill for a late lunch. This is a favored place of the other couple. There is plenty of parking in the back. One access problem is the ramp - it is very difficult for anyone in a wheelchair or kneerollator. The employee greeted us warmly. We each ordered different items: Wainwright burger, wings, meatloaf special of the day, Philly sandwich. Every item arrived at the same time and each was good. The draft beer choice was limited. Had the lb. of cod and it comes with one side and hush puppies. You get a lot of fish in that pound. Their fries are good too. The hush puppies have jalapeños in them, a little spicy but not bad. Hubby and I split a Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Baked Potato. I'd never heard of such a thing before and YAAAY Corner Chill & Grill for comin' up with such an awesome meal! We're both huge fans of anything Buffalo Chicken and really enjoy when places come up with different ways to use that great flavor. Our service was good. Chill is pretty accurate. We went for lunch and the service was slow, but not unacceptable. It just seemed like they could use another hand. Otherwise, food was great, staff was friendly, prices reasonable; just don't expect a thirty minute lunch. Definitely will try again, but probably in the evening when there's time to chill. :-) read more

What a great hidden gem! Didn't know this places existed until my brother found a gift card he had for them in his car. Went for lunch and the food was great! The atmosphere is very inviting and warm. They were playing some Johnny Cash and similar artist on the stereo which added to the welcoming feeling. Almost felt as if I was already a regular. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and happy to give suggestions! It was a Wednesday we went when they have $1 stag drafts and $. 55 wings. Try the Wainwright burger and wings, you will not be disappointed. Had Amanda as our Waitress and she was FANTASTIC! Very knowledgeable and gave good suggestions. She suggested to get the garlic parmesan and house hot sauces on the breaded wings due to the sauce being thinner while the BBQ sauce will be good on naked. What a great suggestion! And the wings stay crispy and not soggy from the sauce even once you get to the last one. My uncle tried the tamles.... They are to DIE FOR! You have to try them! Killer! Love this place! My family comes to Belleville once a month and this is our go to for a late lunch. We have tried a variety of things on menu but always come back to the all you can eat chicken on Sunday. The fried chicken is delish! Crispy and cooked to perfection. Sides of green beans and mashed potatoes and country gravy are just as good as chicken. Staff is so friendly and welcoming. Wished I lived closer, this would be my go to. Let's talk about Taco Tuesday $1 tacos. I ordered takeout tacos and was very impressed with how they packaged it all for me. These little deep fried tacos are loaded with a ground beef/refried bean mixture and the flour shell is a little sweet, not too crunchy, not too puffy. So good! Toppings included shredded lettuce and cheese arranged separately with fresh, finely-chopped tomatoes, taco sauce and sour cream packets. I've ordered appetizers, fried fish and burgers off their menu and everything is good. The owners and staff are very friendly and I've always felt comfortable waiting on my to-go orders. read more

I was invited to a birthday party tonight but had no idea what to expect. It is a very friendly, open area tavern with karaoke, slots, lots of tv's and great food. We shared some pizza and wings which were all good. The wings are breaded but very tasty. My buddy had a loaded baked potato and it was the biggest potato I have ever seen. It was at least 9 inches long and as big around as a beer can. It was covered in bavcon, cheese, butter and sour cream for $6.95. Drinks were very reasonable and everyone was friendly. The three stars are 100% based on the food. All my life, I've heard of a Wainwright burger, and I wasn't disappointed. It was fantastic. But from now on, it's carry outs or nothing. The one owner was busy yelling at just about every employee in the building and a customer, too, in our short visit. It was uncomfortable as hell. Take that in the kitchen, and get your point across without causing a scene. The only option for seating besides IN the dark bar side is a small room off the back deck. Problem is, where we sat (because there was a large party eating fish, and they pushed their tables together) was practically IN the waitress station. We were also directly in front of the expo window, so we also got the owner yelling in that direction as well. Our poor waitress seemed overwhelmed and pretty meek. I'm not shy to hole in the wall bars. I frequented Schatze's and MoJacs for years. But this was on a different level. Drunk patrons were wobbling up to the long table of fish eaters and trying to get them into conversation. It was something to behold. What can I say? Food's good. The rest needs some work. read more
