This is one of our favorite venues to see our friends sing at. They have a plethora of drink options and bar food. I feel like they always are out of certain ingredients for particular drinks so I haven't had a chance to try a select few yet. My go to when this happens is their berry sangria. Pricing isn't bad. This place gets packed and the seating is limited. I suggest throwing chairs in your car in case. Service is iffy. Sometimes they are attentive, sometimes you're waiting forever. Such an underrated, amazing spot!! It's cool and casual during the summer, and warm and cozy in the winter. Especially fun during the holidays-- they go all out with their decor! Their Christmas party with live music is one of the best every year, just be sure to get there very early as the place is small and tables go fast. Sunset Overlook is always a perfect visit! The views are great, the staff is friendly, and the drinks are fantastic. While my friends and I have come on various occasions and loved it, we also decided to attend the pop up bar and it was SO fun! There are little shacks in the back to sit with friends and enjoy a nosh and beverage, an igloo and a porch which gives a wonderful view of the countryside, especially at sunset. Menu is ample but simple offering wraps, sandwiches, shareables like dips. Got there for lunch and ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich on gf hoagie bun(big surprise on the bun). It was good, maybe could have had a little more chicken. No sides served with your sandwich but could get bag of chips for an extra buck. Nice cocktail menu, beer and wine. Service fine. This service was awful. We said we didn't like our buffalo dip, so we asked for a flatbread. Apparently that was too much. We were meant with "You will pay for the chicken dip you didn't eat & pay for your replacement." Ignored by manager, server, and disregarded after we said we wouldn't pay for something we didn't eat, cold, & undercooked. We just love this place. It feels like you're way out in the country overlooking the corn fields, but it's just a 15-minute drive. It's an old farmhouse remade into a cool bar. We love the peach sangria, although you should be warned it's very sweet. The food options are kind of limited as I recall from a previous visit. We had a pizza and it was good. Mostly we come here for a drink after dinner somewhere else. The servers were super friendly. Be prepared for a big crowd on a nice weekend night. Bring your dog if you want. Despite this being convenient I haven't been here all that much. But evidently they draw a lot of people. It is nice to some families here with their kids too. At least in the early evening. Often on the weekends they offer music. The owners have remodeled an old brick farm house and have done a nice job. Looks great. Out back they have a large patio with different seating options. Lots seating in front too but those seats are in direct sun so depending on the time of year that can be a good thing or a bad thing. At sunset it is the place you want to be! Their wine selection is has improved since they opened and they do have good beer selection. Additionally they have house made sangria. The red sangria is really good. As I recall they did have prices on their drink menu but no prices at all on food menu. That is just weird IMO. Food options are basic- flatbreads, sandwiches or wraps and salads. Service was okay. At the table any waitress can take your order which means you have to flag them down. I can see why they do that but not sure it works well all the time. read more

Let's start with the restaurant, historic site, outstanding view and best place to see the sunset. Service and restaurant cleanliness is outstanding. The salads are made with fresh shaved parmesan and candied pecans. They are super great and worth the order. Restaurant is know for flat bread pizzas, I didn't get to sample, have been told they are great. I order the fish Tacos, Atlantic cod. I had a hard time considering them a taco as the fillet overwhelmed the dish, however very tasty regardless. We ordered a roast beef which was outstanding. One of our favorite places until tonight. Ordered food and waited 45 minutes and watched other customers receive theirs and finally asked the waitress for a status. She said she would check on it. 10 minutes later still no answer. Asked another waitress and she checked and told us there was a printer problem and apologized and said the food would be comped and drinks 20% off. Great we thought. 20 minutes later still no food or status. We asked for check and paid for our drinks and left never receiving food. What a shame. We have frequented this place weekly throughout this summer. They do a great business so they don't need us and it showed itself tonight. Love it here. Maya's the best server ever, also the dog-friendliest, with a water bowl for our dog the minute we arrive--he adores her. We stopped in on the recommendation of a friend and it's one of my new favorite spots. On Thursdays, Chris is the bartender and he is really friendly and fun to chat with while we eat and drink. The food portions are small, so we generally order a few things. We're big fans of the pizza and pretzels with beer cheese. They have homemade sangrias and drink specials. I decided to give them 2 stars instead of 1 for the following: My family and I stopped in this afternoon at 1:30pm on a Sunday, well outside the lunch rush. We sat for 15 minutes before we were brought menus and told that they were short staffed by some woman who may have been a manager(?), which is completely fine. But that same person who told us that could have at least taken our drink order to potentially help out the struggling server. Another 5 minutes passed and still no greeting and no drink orders. At this point we're at the 20 minute window of minimal effort. It was then that we decided that if it's going to take 20+ minutes to get a drink, our business would be better suited for a different restaurant and competitor (Reifschneider's). We never had a chance to taste the soda nor any food. All we were able to do was sit down and be ignored for 20 min outside a lunch rush. Would we try them in the future? Probably not. My advice would be to not let people sit wherever they want as you haven't a clue where anyone is when they do and if there is only 1 server perhaps grouping those that want to dine would make the most logistical sense. read more

Environment- You go here to be outside, take in the view, and have drinks with people you like spending time with. If you're not sitting outside ( preferably up front) you're missing out. It gets a little crowded and you may have to wait for a seat, but it still has that small town feel even when it's busy. Drinks- Drinks are reasonably priced. They have a small cocktail list and a full bar to make you whatever isn't on the list. Multiple beers on draft + a Moscow mule on draft ( not a fan, but it's a cool idea.) ++ wines and sangria. Service- You may have to flag down your waitress, but they were all polite and they are covering a pretty large area of thirsty humans. Food- limited food menu. It straight up says on the menu they don't have a full kitchen and food comes out when they can get it done. Last time I was there we just did apps which were pretty fast. We ordered the pretzels and cheese and spinach dip. I think these dishes were microwaved to be honest ( the dip came out in like 2 minutes no joke), HOWEVER, they were both pretty good and that's obviously what matters. There were a lot of pretzels in the order and enough cheese for all of them which gives the place some bonus points in my book. I think this place is pretty transparent about focusing on drinks and environment vs. food. I probably wouldn't recommend eating a full dinner here especially if you have a party of 3 or more. There is a chance one person at your table could get their food a hour before you do even if you order the same thing. Again this is clearly stated on the menu. Eat dinner before or have a snack while you drink on the patio and enjoy the view...that's what this place is about . read more

This is a great place to sit on the patio and watch the sunset. Great fish tacos and salads. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive.

The venue itself is very nice. It's nice to be able to sit on the patio and watch the small planes land and takeoff. The Jefferson Barracks Bridge is in full view of the patio, so that's a plus! They have a decent beer selection, a couple appetizers, and several pizza selections from a couple of companies. One of them (TJ's) seems to be something I've bought for a school fundraiser! We tried one of each, and they were both good. We will try them again once they've had a chance to work out some "kinks". I hesitate to review new places, so will revisit this at a later time. read more
