One of my very favorite bars! I've been here multiple times and I'm always happy visiting and spending time here. The vibe is upbeat but chill, and they have a great year round patio. This visit in particular was on Mardi Gras, which was a great spot to have a couple drinks without actually heading down to Soulard. We sat on the heated patio and had a couple of drinks and were able to chat while still hearing one another. Bartenders are always helpful and friendly, and they have a good selection of beverages. I typically go for the 4Hands seltzers since they're my fav. It got to be super packed full of Mardi Gras go-ers, so we headed out after about an hour and a half. Always a good choice!

Great courtyard out back Food from nomad You have to order your drinks at the bar and bus your own tables Gameroom and fireplace too.

Ambiance here is way cool. The service was perfectly acceptable. Reason for not 5 starts is that Bloody Mary could've been SO much better with some additional accoutrements... The flavor was GREAT, but for the price paid, I think it should've been dressed up a little more. Just my opinion... But I'd come back.

I was mostly on the back mostly covered patio... Just follow the path to the left of the building with the K-9 sign. It was a dog friendly patio and kids showed up and listened to DJ Stan the Man. The main area patio behind the actual Tamm Bar has tables and a bar to order from. Down a few steps you walk into bar/restrooms area. This is were I saw the mirror telling me to "Dive in" Opposite of the Tamm Bar across the patio is a large room. There is a covered room with games including a large connect-4 game, video games and a general place to play and hang-out. The set-up is nice place to relax.

Casual dining in Dogtown, but really special offerings and not your typical pub grub. Best salad, kimchi brussel sprouts to name a couple of dishes. Served hamburgers as well which looked amazing . The fries were really tasty! Nice bar service and choices. Orders taken at register and brought to your table by number. Great pub !

I love Tamm Ave's patio ! While they may not have the beer you want on tap, they will have a can of something you'll enjoy--such a large selection. Occasionally have live music. Connected to Nomad; you can order food from your table.

Orders: Local Craft Beers | Nomad Cheeseburger & Kimchi Brussels Sprouts Love this bar!! Have only ever enjoyed the outdoor seating (with a fire going during winter to keep cozy, so expect to smell like campfire, but hey that's winter lyfe) & am such a fan. Patio is dog-friendly, has a smattering of tv's to enjoy some sportsball if that's your thing & tons of great beers and delicious grub! I've always found the bartenders to be pleasant & patient with me as I choose the funnest looking canned beer - a strategy often not appreciated in the craft beer scene. But I go where the art goes! & they've always been really great in helping me find my faves. A semi-regular spot for me! Highly recommend!! Ps they have a sweet indoor/outdoor barcade park it's skiball & stuff. Way fun!

Kitchen not open on Monday nights, they should post this somewhere so people won't come down expecting to eat. We sat for about 5 mins, no one came over and said anything to us, so my husband went to the bar to asked about the kitchen. That's when we found out the kitchen being closed on Mondays

Expensive drinks with bartenders who don't understand mixology. And no food. Definitely not a community bar. Like Seamus or Pat connolys

The bartenders were helpful and I appreciated how they had a specific spot to stand if you wanted to place an order. Genius! They had live music when we got there and it was quite loud so it was hard to talk to people at our table, but we managed. They had some bar games that some people were playing and the atmosphere was just right for a chill Friday night. Some of my friends were hungry so they ordered a pizza which looked good. It was typical bar food so they said it was just okay, but since they were hungry, it was enjoyed! They have some seating outside, but it was too cold to be out there. But I can see this being a fun spot in warmer weather! Bathrooms were clean which was impressive for a Friday night.

Respectable Americanized-Italian restaurant on The Hill…read more.. I was in town for work with the ole ball and chain, and we met some friends at MOTH for dinner on a Friday... Quint lil restaurant nestled in the middle of the STL Italian district. The restaurant looks like a big Italian family room and smelled like my G-Ma's kitchen. The staff super super friendly and accommodating. As for the food, it was solid Italian but I wouldn't call it "authentic", but more Americanized Italian fare (albeit the toasted raviolis were as good as advertised). We really like that the staff didn't rush you... Good pacing with dinner and no pushiness to turn tables. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the price... $250 for 4 people is expensive regardless of it being STL. While I still contend Gian-Tony's is the best Italian restaurant OTH, MOTH was good and offers an enjoyable dinner experience with friends and family... It's easy to see why they've been a successful family run business for so many years.

The sauce had the perfect consistency... creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of kick. I skipped the peas, added a meatball and paired it with the recommended Koha Sauvignon Blanc. Easily the best vodka sauce I've had in St. Louis! Already dreaming of the day we meet again. We sat on the patio and had wonderful service with Connor. Music was great, bread and oil was fantastic and they were able to seat us and get our food out to us so quickly even at 7 pm on a Wednesday.

I met here with members of a local running group for one of their periodic pub runs. It was extremely cold when I got there, despite having been nearly 90 degrees out the day before. Several members of our group stood in the doorway, preventing other patrons from entering and exiting. Modern's staff deserves credit for not complaining or forcing them to leave. They may have sensed that this wasn't the local unhoused population. Only employed people run recreationally, despite having relatively little free time. I see this place all the time, from my car on the adjacent highway, on my way back to civilization, but I'd never had the occasion to stop by. Perhaps I'd be a regular if I attended the nearby community college. But if I could afford to eat here, why would I be attending community college? The beer will set you back. I would have been fine with a 32 oz can of Miller High Life, but when in Rome. There's an extensive selection of beers on tap, and probably even more in cans and bottles. I'm no connoisseur, and I don't have that kind of time, so I went with something called Silent Gs, or something to that effect. I justified it, in part, by telling myself that its name is a reference to the Lil Wayne bar adored by people who started listening to rap music in 2003. I paid $7.50-ish for a not particularly large serving, but damn it if it wasn't pretty good. I appreciate it anytime one of these higher gravity pale ales doesn't taste like it was sourced from a trough-style urinal at a circa '83 ballpark. A couple of girls from the aforementioned run group mentioned that this place carries a brussels spouts salad. I don't eat salad, because I'm a guy, but these girls are certified baddies, and I succumbed to the peer pressure. I attempted to mitigate the impact on my reputation by also ordering a slice of pepperoni pizza. I'm gonna have to have a difficult meeting with my accountant, as a result, but it was worth it. The entree serving of the salad would have been enough food, even without the pizza. It's enough vegetables that it's actually kinda obnoxious, like they're trolling you. Who do they think I am, a damn cow? Part of that may have been the brussels sprouts. They help give the salad a surprising heft, for something that doesn't have any meat in it, and help make up for the lack of bacon, which I generally require with brussels sprouts. The candied walnuts, which I thought might be croutons, were another delightful surprise and complemented the tang of the pickled red onions. The pizza came topped with an oddly precise-looking quantity and arrangement of pepperonis, like they might have Russell Crowe from the movie A Beautiful Mind working in the kitchen. It's not like at Domino's, where they just toss them on there and they might not even be on half the pizza. I guess they have to do that when they sell it by the slice. You'd be upset if you didn't get enough of them, because they're delicious. They're the kind that curl up into little cups filled with disgustingly unhealthy and yet delicious oil. I wonder if that's also because they serve it by the slice and hence have to reheat it. That may have resulted in the end of the crust suffering from a bit of Popeyes biscuit-like dryness, but what are you going to do. Then again, that may have been a purposeful attempt to get you to purchase more expensive beer. Everything else here was so well executed, it's hard to imagine this wasn't intentional on their part.

Half of the food came out cold and the other half never came with the extra sauce we asked for…read more First and probably last time here. Nothing in this experience tells me it's worth another try. Will take food home to throw in the air fryer.

I tried the Pretty in Pink cocktail, which was well-balanced and enjoyable, though the pour felt a bit light for a martini. Normally one martini gives me a slight buzz, but that wasn't the case here. We started with the onion rings as an appetizer. The portion size was generous, and they were tasty overall, though they had a tangy seasoning dusted on top that seemed a little odd at first. Surprisingly, it still worked. I ordered the Good Burger, and it was honestly one of the most flavorful smash burgers I've ever had. I was genuinely impressed. I got the sauce on the side since it also came with the onion rings, and unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of it -- it was a bit runny and lacked flavor. My friend ordered the vegan burger and absolutely loved it. The inside of the restaurant was cute and had a great atmosphere, though there was an unusual smell indoors, so I was very thankful we were able to grab one of the outdoor tables. Outdoor seating is pretty limited, though, so keep that in mind if you prefer sitting outside.
