Located on the northern part of The Hill neighborhood, it's a welcoming community space with one of the best and most diverse beverage selections in town. Pops Blue Moon is also host to the "Bluebeat at the Blue Moon" ska-rocksteady-reggae matinee record spin every 2nd Saturday of each month from 1:00-4:00pm. Very funky chill little diva bar. Bartender was friendly and the drink were inexpensive. A little hidden gem in The Hill.

This place is terrible! Please don't go there! Go somewhere else! Just kidding....this place is great, but regulars love it and don't want it to get too overrun and crowded. The bartenders are intelligent, well-mannered and take their cocktail mixing craft seriously. The music is usually good to great with some of the best local area bands featured. Sweet little dive bar! We would have never found this place if it wasn't for a good friend playing a gig, but it was a nice little surprise! Eclectic decor with pretty good prices, and a great, laid-back crowd. The location was interesting as it was in the middle of a neighborhood, but this just added to the uniqueness of the place. If you are looking for a dive bar. St. Louis is like the Emerald City of dive bars! I have spent many a night in this beer town, putting down some Stag's or giant High Life's, Buds, or craft beers! A co worker and I were looking to try a new place a little off the beaten path and we found ourselves at Pop's Blue Moon on a Monday night! Little did we know we were going to be treated to an open jam of Blue Grass music from some hot picking locals... On Grassy Monday! The bar filled up quickly with Dead Heads, and people ready to have a good time! Monday night football was on the screen and the Stag's were only 2 bucks! I started to feel very good about our choice of coming to Pop's the bartender was great and the place was decked out with Christmas Ornaments (mid December,) and other toys and lava lamps collected through the years! A giant Bob Dylan poster from late 70's early 80's with 3D glasses taped to it was a highlight as well! Our Uber driver had never heard of this place and you would probably miss it if you drove by as it truly is a residential neighborhood bar. Very small but cozy! Divey but not dirty! Cheap, and Fun! Pop's Blue Moon is the Grandaddy of all dive bars. The decor is tacky, the building is in need of renovation and plaster is falling from the ceiling. All of that makes for a dive bar full of charm, warmth and coziness. They offer cheap beer, of course Blue Moon and I was pleased they offered Schlafly's APA on draft. I was also impressed with the selection of brand names that you could call for your liquor drinks. Some regular bars don't offer the selection that Pop's has. Our bartender was friendly and personable. I thought he looked like one I would see at Bad Dog or JJ's Clubhouse. The other patrons come and go, some stay to themselves and others will enjoy conversation with newbies. I had a fun time and would love to go back and enjoy some live music. Remember, Pop's only takes cash. So don't leave home without it, because there's no ATM to save your ass. read more

It's a family-owned business. They serve Well Being non-alcoholic craft beer, which is actually super good! They can also whip up some awesome mocktails for those who wish not to drink. They've been promoting a Saturday N/A night for the non-drinkers. The drink prices are super reasonable for those who do wish to drink alcohol. I had a great time meeting up for a friend's birthday party a while back. During a short visit to St. Louis, a coworker and I wanted to find a nice little dive bar to hole up at for a few and drink some Stag (not the easiest thing to do when staying in the Central West End). Pop's came up on our radar, so we came to check it out. It's tucked away behind some industrial buildings and located on a quaint little residential street -- right in front of the interstate. It's the type of place you'd have to make a conscience decision to find or just randomly come across. Inside, it's a cozy, kitschy dive. Stags were $2 each, which was real nice. We were there on a Monday, which also happened to be Grassy Mondays, so there was this pretty great, low key bluegrass jam going on all night and a crowd to match. All good things in my book. Not sure if I'll ever be back, but hopefully I'll end up here again somehow. Definitely recommend checking out Pop's if you like laid back, no frills dive bars. read more

Wow! Katie bee is something! I came in depressed! My hair was dirty too! She immediately cussed out her boss for not having a fucking sharp knife! The she cheered me up! She asked me if i was Bruce Springsteen! I of course lied and said yes! I do that alot! I then sang rosalita and brought the house down! She passed the tip jar and i made $200! We went here to see Jason Webley and had a great time. Very small but friendly. There is now NO SMOKING after 8pm so that was a big plus for us. You can still smoke out back though. Cheap Blue Moon and one of the few places to get Michelob on draft. Lots of Italian photos from previous owners to look at and check out the Shrine near the bathrooms. When looking for a bar, this place is your average, everyday, smokey, hole-in-the-wall neighborhood drinking establishment. It's a great little dive. There is nothing elegent or fancy about it. I've only been in here a few times on the recommendation of a colleague of mine, but I've enjoyed it each time. THEY DON'T TAKE PLASTIC, so come with cash! They've got some good stuff on tap, and bottles as well. If you're hungry, they usually have some frozen pizzas that they'll bake for you. Like I said, nothing fancy. Usually on the weekends they'll have a band playing in the front room, or in the summers in the back. So if you're looking for an out-of-the-way pit stop, or a place to chill on a Saturday night, look no further. read more

This place is a really neat corner bar that I actually didn't even know existed! A friend of mine's father was performing there with his band. I was really surprised to see how small PBM was, but after watching and drinking for awhile, I really enjoyed the small bar atmosphere. My beers were somewhere under $3 I believe, so that's what I drank that night. There is no smoking inside the bar, so you won't leave smelling like a bar. I found the graffiti in the bathroom pretty hilarious. I'm pretty sure PBM let's the writing go on, otherwise they have a huge problem of people writing on their walls. One comment said St. Louis was number 1 in baseball, followed by people adding we were also number 1 in crime, and other number 1's we as a city particularly are not proud of. Finally made it back to the moon this week! (I used to work there years ago, was my first bartending job).. it seems Terry's son Josh, my friend, has taken over operations. There's pizza available now every night, by @masterpieza; handmade football-sized slices of love.. real cheese, and a savory and sweet sauce.. fresh spinach and pepp! Delicious. The vibe has always been right here, but now it's taking a turn: Non-Alcoholic aka "mindful" drinking menu has arrived to StL!!! Def the first NA bar in the area, but still has booze available every day but Saturday, which is now a NA night! I am 106 days into a year of no drinking, not enough time to get into that ;), I'll just say it's empowering spiritually / socially to have some quality toxin-free options.. I am excited to see this place grow, and I will certainly be by often for a @wellbeingbrewing NA coffee stout on draft and a slice.. Thanks, Josh! read more

I have been to this bar in the past and was excited to go back and take some friends. However, when we arrived lights were on but the door was locked. Yelp shows that they open at 3 and it was 3:15 or so....there is even a sign on the window that states they are open. When we called whoever answered the phone says "were closed" and hangs up. I would suggest that you update your hours of business so people aren't wasting their time going out of the way to come to your establishment. read more
