A far cry from the old Hi Pointe, the new Par Lounge has a lofty feel with exposed brick, two extra large flat screen TVs, digital juke box, mahogany and leather. They've got a full bar with some high end liquor, a decent selection of bottled beer and some decent happy hour specials. The crowd is mixed in age, and semi casual. They have a small menu of pizzas and cheese, sausage, chips & dips, which they plan to build on. Everything on it is under 7 bucks. I did not have the opportunity to try the food. I've only been there once and that was during happy hour (Wed - Fri 5-8). So, I don't have a feel for the true vibe, but I recommend giving this one a try!

Hi-Point area and a bar that opens until 3am. This is right behind Boundary, Basso, Cheshire Inn. I don't know why I have discover you before! It's not a complete dive bar b/c it's pretty lovely inside with brick panels, leather couches, but the only things I would gripe about is that they only have bottles and nothing on Tap. This is a great place to catch up with friends or even meet new ones!

My party sat on the small couch and two chairs closest to the doors. The ambiance and lighting were the same, but the vibe felt a bit elevated. Maybe because of the music being played? After browsing the menu, the guy came over to take our drinks. I went with Pele the fire God. I was ecstatic because finding a drink with passion fruit in Stl is like finding the golden ticket! It's a rare treat but when you find it, it's worth it! It came out super fast and was a bit more frothy than I would have liked. In fact, I felt like there was more froth than alcohol but the little I did get made it worth it. For my second drink I went with the limoncello spritz but got it with sprite instead of club sodas. For the record, I've only had a couple spritzes in my life but i really enjoyed this one. It was light, refreshing, and def a cocktail to sip, sit back and enjoy. Everyone in my party was laughing and having a great time. The service was outstanding and the drinks were equally matched. Fair warning there's only one restroom, so hydrate accordingly!

We arrived around 3:45 and the place was busy! There was one open seating area so we grabbed it quickly. We spent a few minutes looking at the menu and then the guys went up to the bar to get our drinks. There didn't seem to be table service. I don't know if they ever have it or not. We enjoyed hanging out there for a few drinks. It has a dark, moody, comfy feel. I tried to take pictures but it was pretty dark and they didn't turn out well. I had the "Yes We Have One" - it's an espresso martini. It wasn't as sweet as I prefer, but it was good and I had more than one so it couldn't have been too bad! The other three enjoyed their drinks as well. I'd definitely go back and have a few cocktails in a cozy little area!

I discovered, The Lounge because I arrived super early for a wine tasting at another business in the plaza. My friend and I were immediately won over, when we saw the bar dog. Her name is, Lucy. I liked that the front window is tinted so you cannot see in, but once inside you can clearly see the outside. If you like to play slots while you sip your inexpensive cocktail, The Lounge has about 4 or 6 machines for you to play. If you do, good luck. Best of all, the drinks are super affordable aka "cheap". The bartender was friendly to us being newcomers. Seeing the rest of the patrons at the bar and every stool was full, you could tell they were regulars at this neighborhood watering hole. If I'm ever back in the area, I'd definitely stop by for a cocktail.

There is some limited outdoor seating on the sidewalk and indoor seating. Our group enjoyed delicious appetizers, and there were limited happy hour specials from their cocktail menu. I wanted wine and must say that they have really great wine - I enjoyed both the Pinot Noir and the Chardonnay. Also they had the most adorable bathroom with framed high school photos of celebrities (St. Louis is the most high school fixated city in America, IYKYK). The service was friendly but a bit uneven, considering how empty it was when we first arrived. There were some long waits for drinks, and a couple of mix-ups. I believe the main source of confusion was that one big check had been started, but with people coming and going at different times, it had to be split into separate checks on the back side so people could pay before leaving. I do recommend them for happy hour and plan to return.
