This is a really lovely smaller bridal salon. The prices are all really reasonable and the attendant I worked with, Mia Grace, was incredibly warm and enthusiastic. She did a great job pulling dresses both in and out of my comfort zone, and she was delightful to talk to. Mayra is an absolute saint. She took me under her wing and found the perfect dress for me...the first dress we tried on! They took a size 10 dress and brought it down to a size 2 in 1 day. My daughter and I both had the most amazing experience at the Barefoot Bride. This was the only bridal salon we went to and my daughter was so happy with her first experience that she did not want to look anywhere else. Mayra had a beautiful selection of reasonably priced gowns and the service we received was above and beyond. We were able to take our time and look at so many dresses. I had a wedding dress appointment confirmed on January 24, 2024 for today, March 3, 2024 for 1 PM. I asked to come earlier, but they told me that I could not because they opened at 12 and the 12 PM spot was taken. We arrived at 1 PM and the shop was closed, with the lights off, and the doors locked. I tried to call and email to no avail. They finally contacted me after 2:20 PM, apologizing and admitting their error. They said they would do "anything" to fix it because they did not want me to leave bad reviews. Luckily, I went somewhere else that took walk ins and said yes to the dress. However, what was supposed to be an exciting morning for me was ruined by this company. It was my first time going wedding dress shopping and I was unable to go anywhere else that was appointment only due to their error. I am warning all brides that are going dress shopping for the first time to not use this shop. They are unprofessional, cannot keep track of clients, and lack customer care. I have never left a review on social media before; however, after I asked friends to take off of work today just for the owner and workers not to show up, I knew I had to warn other future brides. I hate to do this but this is the reality of my experience. One star. I went in a month ago to look for a dress. I flew cross country and waited 3 months for the appointment so I was very excited. Myra asked me my style to which I say bohemian and she nearly cut me off and said we don't have that here. (Seems odd since the name Of the business is barefoot bride). I go on to show her a photo of a dress I like. She said we don't have that. I understand but it was just an example. She was very aggressive for the whole appointment and she never said anything positive about all the dresses I try on. Never said I looked nice. I was very open to different styles and she told me if i want bohemian to go to abigails in asbury. I was shocked. She didn't seem like she wanted to help or do her job and I was just trying to shop and look at dresses. It was awful. When I left (because clearly I didn't find a dress mainly because of the negative energy ) she said very aggressively that I need to really figure out what i want and learn the terms of dresses and cuts silhouette etc. I was very decisive and told her exactly what I liked. Maybe I didn't know the terms but once I learned them I was able to explain. I found my beautiful Stella York gown at BareFoot Bride. My mom and I went in with a price point, which they had PLENTY of choices. The dress that ended up being THE DRESS was the first dress I saw. I tried 3 others, but went back to the first one, and it was THE ONE. When I tried it on the second time, our wedding song came on- it was a sign. :) Tati was INCREDIBLE with my alterations! I did need it take in 4x, but every time it got better and better and on my wedding day, it was beyond ANYTHING I could have ever hoped for!! Tati is skilled and absolutely hysterical! It's a lovely shop with a friendly attitude. I went in with my daughter this week so she could try on a bridesmaid dress that had been selected for a July wedding. Myra was super friendly, with complete knowledge of all the dress lines & colors. The bride had told my daughter the bridesmaid dress would be $300, Myra's price was $90 less at $210. While we chatted about the shop, we looked at bridal gowns and I was really surprised when she told me her most expensive gown was $2,900. I think brides can really do well there. read more

My first ever dress shopping experience started at The Barefoot Bride and it was awesome! The owner, Myra, is the sweetest person ever and was extremely helpful. Although she is a tiny woman, she made sure to put her whole body into pulling the dress tight to show me how it would look when it was in my size. She was very accommodating with all of my questions and made it clear that if the designer wouldn't change or add something on the dress (such as adding buttons, pockets, beads, etc.), their seamstress would do it. I would have def. purchased my dress from Myra but unfortunately, the selection was very limited and I did not find my dream dress there. I ordered my Sorella Vita bridesmaids dresses from The Barefoot Bride for my June 2019 wedding. All of my bridesmaids, except for one, live in NJ so I was able to have most of them visit the salon to try on different styles. I had picked the designer and color, and then let the girls pick whichever style they felt most comfortable in. I knew I wanted Sorella Vita dresses, but they had a great selection of other designers as well. This shop had a great selection of dresses for the girls to try on, so each girl ended up in the dress that worked best for them. The measuring and ordering process was very quick (including a phone order for my out of state bridesmaid), and they called me right away when the dresses came in. Everyone in the shop was always extremely nice and helpful and I overall had a great experience with this shop! read more

I am the maid of honor in my sister's wedding and the particular dress she wanted me to wear was impossible to find to try on. I emailed Barefoot Bride to ask if they had it. they said yes, and to call to make an appointment. I called and explained the situation. I said i wanted to come in on a particular saturday. She said because I am just trying on one dress I did not need an appointment. I got a very weird vibe from the phone call, but still went anyway. I walked through the door on this particular saturday... no one greeted me. I know i didn't have an appointment, but not even a, hello, can i help you? I found the dress myself and then asked an associate if i could try it on, explaining i was told i could do so. "On a Saturday???" was the answer i got, with a little bit of an attitude. I explained that I had spoken with Myra/Myrna and that she told me to come in... she said that she was myra/myrna and that she did not say that. Ooook.... ? Well, i didn't make it up! She says I can try it on and opens a dressing room for me. There was nothing pleasant about the way she spoke with me. If she was too busy she could have politely asked me to come back, but the fact of the matter is there was a room wide open... was the attitude really necessary? This was also in front of other customers she was working with, and they seemed to have a shocked look on their face. I was also with a friend who was equally as shocked/disappointed as i was. I tried the dress on and left. I am just shocked she spoke to me that way. As the maid of honor, i am ordering all the bridesmaids dresses... my sister has 8 bridesmaids! In the end I am obviously ordering these dresses elsewhere, but on that saturday i was 100% open to ordering them through Barefoot Bride. read more

I'm very surprised to read about the last person's review, I had a great experience with Myra. When shopping for my wedding gown, she was very helpful. They had a Casablanca dress that I loved, but only had it in the knee length version. Myra explained to me that it comes in a long regular length, and even printed out the picture for me to see. She also called the manufacturer to see if they could send it to her, unfortunately they didn't have any samples. She also called a few other stores where she knows the owner to see if they had it for me. Although she couldn't find it, her efforts and knowledge were greatly appreciated! If they had my perfect gown I would gladly purchase it from Barefoot Bride. As far as their selection, they didn't have a lot to choose from in the look I'm going for, which is very simple a-line with no beading. The store is very neat and clean and the experience was a LOT better then some of the other stores that I've been to in the area. Not that this is super important, but when we came in asking her to break a dollar to put change in the meter, she told us we could park in her private lot behind the building (super nice of her!). read more

I've been visiting my soon to be in-laws this past week and wanted to make a special moment with my mother in law. I haven't been wedding dress shopping yet and I wanted her to be with me while I tried on my first dress. She recommended Barefoot because her daughter got her dress here 10 years ago. I called Myra and she was just amazing. Even though she knew we weren't going to buy a dress that day she humored us with trying all different dresses on and gave us great advice on how to pick outfits for the wedding party. Had a comfortable experience when searching for my dress. Very reasonable pricing with gorgeous dresses. Amber was very nice to work with. In the end, I ended up choosing a dress that she picked out for me. I am very happy with the dress and ultimately glad I went there, although they booked my first dress fitting months ago and when my mother called to make sure it was ok to drop my dress off before dinner, they told us they didn't have the appointment. I was extremely disappointed that they lost my appointment and how I was told there was nothing they could do because no seamstress was coming in. I had recently rescheduled my appointment to try on wedding dresses and unfortunately I was told it was not in the system when I arrived yesterday evening. The staff was great in accommodating me since my mother, sister, and best friend took the time out of their evening to be there with me. Amber was super helpful in finding me the perfect dress! I went here for a bridesmaid dress. I think depending on when you go and how many people they have, as with any store they can get busy/short handed. When my friend and I went they only had one girl and she was very helpful. We're also patient and understood she was doing several tasks. I ordered a dress and after quite a few months my friend had to cancel the wedding. I have to say the customer service was stellar. I assumed they weren't going to give me back my deposit. I was totally mistaken. Megan looked up my order and the dress had not been ordered yet and I got a total refund. Came here last week to find my wedding dress. I made an appointment about a month in advance for a Saturday morning at 10AM. I brought my mother, grandmother, and maid of honor. My mother is handicapped and in a wheelchair. Barefoot Bride is accessible via the front door and they have a parking lot (albeit small) in the back with a handicapped spot and ramp. Megan helped me choose dresses. I told her the style I was looking for and she pulled about 5 dresses that were all conforming to the dress style I was looking for. She was incredibly nice and helpful. When I found a dress I loved, she gave me some alteration ideas to fix a few things I wasn't crazy about and pulled a veil for me to try that perfectly matched the dress. We were the only people in the store and it really was a fantastic experience. I didn't feel rushed and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. Myra took my measurements and was also very helpful and gave me all the necessary information I needed about timeline, fittings, and payment. I will be returning here for my bridesmaid dresses. When we left the place started to get busier with about 2-3 weddings either trying on wedding dresses or bridesmaid dresses. I recommend an early appointment if you want a calmer environment on the weekend. I wholeheartedly recommend Barefoot Bride, I couldn't be happier with my experience. That being said, make an appointment. They are very busy so walking-in will likely result in you not getting attention, which isn't unreasonable especially on a weekend. read more

I was meeting two of my bridesmaids in Nj to start the hunt for dresses, the woman at Barefoot bridal were helpful over the phone in making sure there were dresses at their store that we were looking for. However once we got to the store, we felt we could not have been less important to the employees. I had made an appt a week or so out, when we came in, we were told they were double booked with brides so there would be no one to help us look through dresses. Which was fine at that point since we knew what we were looking for, but then were told we needed to wait until the group of walkins (that came in a couple minutes after us) were done with the dressing room. We were made to feel unimportant and like our business was not worth it. At no point did we feel wanted there. So after the girls tried a dress or two on, we decided this was definitely not the place for us. Especially after we found out they mark up all the dresses, some $50 and up compared to other boutiques, and then offer a discount if you buy in bulk, what a rip off! I get it's all about commission there, had they known I had 7 bridesmaids, not just two-maybe they would have worked a little harder. read more

My friend and I tried on over 20 bridesmaid dresses and Megan was an absolute gem. I was unable to purchase the dress we loved because of shipping (even with priority shipping) but I highly recommend Megan and this store. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I recently order a bridesmaid dress for my cousins wedding. She bought her wedding dress there, so the bridesmaids decided to purchase our dresses there as well. Being I live close I went to the salon and got measured. The girl measured me and said I was between a 8 and 10. I'm normally a 6 in bridesmaid dress, but I figured the girl does this for a living so I ordered the 8. It was huge. The seamstress told me everything she was going to do to make it fit, I made a appointment to pick up the altered dress and then was handed a receipt for the alterations, another $130. I was upset but sucked it up for my cousin. Today is the day I went to pick up my altered dress and, it was too tight. So tight I can't wear a bra. How this is possible I don't know. The seamstress pinned it with me wearing the bra I would be wearing. Needless to say I will never order a dress from there again. It was the worst experience I've ever had. It's completely sucked all the happiness I felt about the wedding right out of me. read more

My story is a little unique since I am the bride who didn't know what she wanted and was overwhelmed by all the wedding dress choices in the stores. I was running out of time, I had been to (literally) seven other stores more than once when I saw this dress online and called The Barefoot Bride to see if I could come in to see it. Unfortunately they didn't have it but Myra went out of her way to order it for me. She didn't know me, I had only been there once or twice but she went out of her way to get this dress for me. To make a long story short, the dress had leaked online and was unable to be ordered. Myra worked her magic somehow and made this dress happen. I went to try it on and that was it. That was the dress! Aside from this, her seamstresses do an amazing job! I wish I could have them alter all my clothing. My dress fit me perfectly. The work that goes into these dresses, moving the lace and beading and cutting this off because I didn't like it and adding in that. They were just amazing. Myra takes pride in her store and her customers. I was sad to pick up my dress because I felt as if I lost some friends. It truly was the best experience. I love The Barefoot bride, I absolutely adore Myra and her team. They really went above and beyond and made this experience incomparable to any other store.
