Not sure why there is such a low rating for this place. I thought it was well organized and had a good selection. I called ahead to make an appt. When we got there, a woman (maybe the owner?) greeted us in the front and explained the process. There is a larger selection of dresses than I expected and they are all protected in plastic. There is a card attached to each dress with helpful information such as available colors and the price. You can pick a few dresses and give it to one of the staff who then help you with changing into the dress. I liked their customer service. The young staffers help pick out dresses based on what you're looking for or what you've picked out and they were great with helping to change in and out of dresses multiple times. They do have a no-camera policy unless you've purchased the dress. This makes it hard to compare dresses because after a while I forget what each dress looks like and which looks better. I wish they would organize the dresses by color so that we don't have to go looking for the color we want. Even though the available colors may not be in the store, it's helpful to see the color in the style in person. In the end, we didn't find a dress here but it was a good experience with great service. read more

Like others, would give this place a rating of zero. Don't waste your time. The dresses are dated, cheap quality and just awful. Really bad knock offs & when I heard they come from China ... that said it all. Oh and you can NOT try dresses on with shoes so don't bring them. I've seen better quality gowns at the shops in the Mall. I now understand why they block you off from walking around while you're waiting your turn. Never felt a need to write a review before but this place was utterly awful. went in with an appointment for a senior prom dress and they clearly wanted me gone immediately, zero attention. asked to try a dress off a mannequin and they acted like i asked them to run a marathon... it's literally their job? whole vibe was weird, nobody talking, nobody asking anything of value, just standing there staring... super awkward, made me not want to be there didn't like anything i picked and they kept bringing dresses that were the complete opposite of what i said, not listening at all. trying stuff on was annoying because the girl kept forgetting to unzip/untie me and had an attitude every time would never spend money here. also overheard them basically pressuring another girl to buy a dress she obviously didn't like... weird energy, don't go read more

Went prom dressing shopping on a quiet day. Wasn't busy at all. The service people are a little pushy but that's expected. We found a dress we really liked but still wanted to shop around. All prom dresses are expensive but I'd go back again. They have a decent selection. Only problem is once they sell the dress they're not getting anymore in. I'm sure if you go a year in advance you can order a bridesmaid dress. We ended up with a completely different dress than what we saw here but we will go back in the future. read more

My experience at dream dresses was awful. I came with my mother to help her find a dress. They wouldn't let us take any photos, so we could not compare at the end which ones we liked. Our attendant (who i'm pretty sure was the owner) kept leaving, but would scold me when I handed my mom the next dress, zip her up, or help her out of a dress ...like the attendant thought I was going to damage their dresses.... I guess they really want to sell the floor models. Why are you leaving customers undressed in the fitting room for 5-10 min if you don't want other people stepping in. All of the dresses in the store are in plastic and you cannot browse on your own. I saw a saleswoman yell at an adult customer who came in to browse because she didn't have an appointment. Our sales woman was not respecting what my mom requested and kept trying to get her to try dresses that were low cut, snug, and revealing when my mother is in her 60's. Additionally, my mom liked one of the dresses, but she wanted it an emerald green. The attendant said the dress came in emerald green, and really tried to push us to buy it without seeing it. I come to find out later that the green she was referring to was a BRIGHT TURQUOISE....like what you would see in a prom dress. To push somebody into buying a $500 dress and lying about the color is insane. Luckily, we didn't listen to the sales woman. I don't recommend this place, it was not an enjoyable experience, they just want to make a sale. The owner is going to comment below that this review is fake like she did on my google review rather than improving their sales practices...like someone would write this detailed of a refer for no reason...I'd love to provide photographic evidence of being in the store, but as mentioned before they don't allow photos so I'll let my review and the collective yelp ratings speak for themselves. read more

The service was horrible. The girl that was helping my daughter was very rude and inconsiderate of my daughter's needs. When I brought over other dresses for my daughter to try on the girl refused to take them and told me to relax and sit down. Previously I had a bad experience with my older daughter and her friend. She told her friend to look for dresses only in the plus size area. I thought I'd give it another chance but I would never return again and I don't recommend. It was also super crowded and the girls had to stand in line to get into the dressing rooms and in front of the mirror. Very bad experience. read more

Customer Service is not their forte. I came in to browse the dresses at 10 min before closing time. When I entered the store, the older lady with the blond grayish hair said to me they are closed. I looked at my watch and said I thought you closed at 6pm and open tomorrow at 12pm. I just wanted to quickly browse your selection. She responded with a lot of attitude and then said to me her staff is trying to clean up and didn't want anything out of place. I said I understand but just wanted to browse. She proceeded with attitude to direct me to go look. I stayed in the store for all of 2 seconds and turned around and left the store. I told her she lost a sale because of her attitude. I am very understanding that it's 10 min before closing time and so I was not intending to move anything around without putting it back or try on dresses. I just wanted to browse their selection. Im not sure if she was having a bad day or if that's just her but I will never step foot in that store again. Very disappointed to be a resident of Old Bridge and be treated in such a rude manner. I love the selection of dresses at DREAM DRESSES. My sister got her quinces dress here in 2023 and I just got my senior prom dress a few weeks ago , both gorgeous and what we loved! Amazing experience and will return! Scheduled an appointment during busy holidays and were so accommodating. We drive over an hour prepared to have one hour and then shown the door out. We arrived a few minutes early with a list of dresses we liked online. We were greeted with kindness and waited just a few minutes (just enough to use the restroom after long drive) two girls greeted us with big smiles which immediately felt at ease. My 16 year old daughter was looking for a junior prom dress and had a vision! The girls helping said just check all the racks and pick 5 dresses or so and we'll start there! No pressure at all. The dressing rooms were lively with young girls and moms so much fun!!! We even had a mother of the bride In the mix. After the 5 dresses didn't work I asked if we could look again. The owner said take all the time you need! We are not used to this treatment typically the rules are very rigid at other shops. We picked another 5 dresses. I noticed more moms and daughters were coming in without an appointment. No one was turned away! Everyone waited patiently for their dressing room. It was such a fun vibe! My daughter settled on the most beautiful perfect dress for her. It was a bit over what we wanted to spend but well worth it. The best part when checking out was I paid exactly what was on the tag! No appointment fees, other fees We will be back for senior prom! We drove by Dream Dresses on our way to our Castle Couture appt. We were terribly disappointed in Castle Couture. They had no stock to try on. Four years ago I was at wits end trying to find a mother of the bride dress gown. After searching everywhere someone suggested I try Dream Dresses. I was beyond depressed with the whole shopping experience convinced I would not find a dress for my daughters wedding. Then I met Debbie and Angie at Dream Dresses. They asked about my budget, which believe it or not is very important. I have been to shops that did not ask and found myself in thousand dollor dresses and the sales people raving how beautiful it looked when I felt ridiculous. They are truly honest and helpful wanting you to look your very best on your memorable day. I now live in Florida and have returned to NJ for my sons wedding. I have returned to Dream Dresses and have received the same treatment. I accompanied my best friend to look for a "Mother-of-the Groom" dress and the experience was fabulous. The staff was helpful and friendly and when my friend asked about dresses outside of her budget, she was encouraged to keep looking so she could find something she loved within her budget, and she did. I thought, if they had it in the store, I'd make an appointment & come back. They found the dress & put me into a dressing room. I didn't like it & the consultant pulled several more for me. I really like 2 & couldn't decide. She pulled another & although I didn't think it was 'me', I tried it on after she insisted. I absolutely LOVED it!! I found my wedding dress & the price was VERY reasonable. I ordered it that Sunday &it came in on Tuesday. I can't thank them enough for finding me THE perfect dress for my wedding. I was very upset when I went to pick up my dress and it was the wrong one and apparently the owner chose to blame me instead of accepting responsibly that they ordered wrong (good thing I had a picture) but that's not the only problem. My daughters dress also was ordered wrong and it came in less than two weeks before her sister's wedding. I had an excellent experience at Dream Dresses I did not have to fill out a ridiculous amount of Information or fork over a $100.00 deposit to make an appointment for a week later. (January is not a busy season) I got an appointment right away. I got out of work late and thought they would turn me away. Not only did they make no mention of my latest, they put me at ease and said they have another few hours of work before they closed. They took their time and we kept picking out dresses until I was satisfied. They have a large variety of styles for age groups and occasions. They were also sensitive to my budget. I was asked what price range I would like to stay in and the all of the dresses presented to me reflected my budget. If I had found something I absolutely had to have, the budget would have gone out the window. The other place so impersonally asked online how much are you willing to spend and then informed me that their dresses start at $500.00. All this aggravation just to make an appointment plus $100.00 non refundable deposit. Just rude! Went here last minute for a dress for a wedding and these ladies were the best! They helped me find the perfect dress AND helped with minor alterations just in time for the wedding. The dresses were fabulous quality, and they really helped me out with finding the right dress for a reasonable price. You can tell they really take pride in their dresses, as none of their dresses had pulls or stains on them (unlike some of the other places I had been to). I ended up getting two gorgeous dresses that were on sale and perfect. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend. read more

The worst store ever. Rude and unprofessional staff who dismissed us as we felt judged as we entered the store. We weren't even greeted with a smile, or helped to find a dress. Being this is your livelihood, it would be in your best interest to be more friendly with a smile on your face to make a sale. Still being looked at as we couldn't afford anything was farther from the truth. Dresses and more is a few minutes down the the road and they are super friendly and helpful. Purchased a dress right away. The dress places that we have bought from in the past are Castle Couture and Prom girl. Many options, and upscale dresses with friendly staff. I wouldn't recommend stepping foot in this store ever. Oh, and being we're being in a pandemic, the workers not wearing their masks isn't COVID compliant!! read more
