The owner told me that they are normally closed on Sundays , but since I was a bride, he wanted to make sure that he could devote attention to only my dress. I called on Monday June 1st to confirm my appointment since i had my aunts traveling from NY to be apart of my fitting and see my dress. i spoke to the owner again and he confirmed my appointment for Sunday. I arrived at the place on Sunday June 7th and the door was locked and the lights were off. I called the shops number multiple times with no answer and also called the owners cell number that he listed on his business card. I had to call his cell MULTIPLE times before getting an answer, all while standing on the side walk with my family and my wedding dresses in our hands. When he finally picked up the phone, he explained that he wasn't even in the state! Apparently he was in NY on his way to pick up suits. There was no remorse on his end for completely leaving me high and dry. All he said was "i didnt have an appointment for you. You know, life happens". Absolutely horrible experience. How on earth can you confirm an appointment with someone and then tell them days later that they never had an appointment? Horrible way to run a business. I understand that mistakes happen but he literally had no remorse for the fact that i was standing on the sidewalk with my family and wedding dresses waiting for HIM! As a mother shopping for a dress for my…read moredaughter's prom at a Muslim school, I explained that the dress she tried on was too revealing for the school's standards. Rather than listening respectfully, the CEO, Maurice Payani, responded dismissively when I mentioned that the school follows guidance from an imam. I was told that my concerns didn't matter and that I didn't understand what was being said to me. The interaction felt extremely disrespectful and confrontational. Instead of trying to understand the cultural and religious context I explained, the conversation became tense and uncomfortable. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect--especially when discussing modesty standards for a religious school event. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. Because of this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this store to families who expect respectful customer service and sensitivity to religious or cultural concerns.
