When I went back, I was not happy with the length, but she hurried me out and said it was perfect. She charged me a total of $730 for alterations and hemming. After trying it on a few times at home I was still not happy with it, I decided to get a second opinion. I brought it to another tailor in Brick, and they told me Mona ruined the dress. It was not until I went to this second tailor did I realize what a terrible job Mona did for a ton of money, $730. This was a $1500 dress. Mona cut the lace when she was not supposed to. The top of the dress was a botched job. Also, Mona did not take it in correctly around the hip area. Basically, the new tailor must totally re-do the dress again from start. I was so upset but the new tailor is going to do their best to fix it for me for a total of $250. When going back to Mona she was very unprofessional and nasty and would not listen to a word I said. She told me the new tailor was going to ruin the dress on me. Mona just yelled and screamed at me and kicked me out. I would never want anyone else to experience this. I was naive and did not know any better and I got screwed. Please be careful and do not go to Mona's Boutiques and Tailoring. Please do your research.

When my daughter tried the dress on and came out of the dressing room Mona looked at the dress on her and said that it was too much material to take in and told her to order a size smaller. She did not care that it was the smallest size possible. If she was truly a seamstress she would have taken in the dress where it was needed but I guess it was too much work for her and she did not want to do it. I will NEVER go back to her shop again.

She gave me personal space while trying on dresses which was nice seeing as I'm a little self conscious. She had some great ideas and suggestions while helping me find more dresses to try. She showed me all the selection, even brought me to the sales rack just to see if there was anything I may like. She even went the extra mile to show me what some of the dresses would look like with little sleeves. I really appreciated her with helping my mother in law up the stairs by carrying her walker with no hesitation. She was super nice and a pleasure to work with! I didn't say yes to the dress during my visit but I did find a top contender that the other shops will have to really show me something grand to make me not want to go back to Jan's.

The owner told me that they are normally closed on Sundays , but since I was a bride, he wanted to make sure that he could devote attention to only my dress. I was very appreciative and we confirmed my appointment for June 7th. I called on Monday June 1st to confirm my appointment since i had my aunts traveling from NY to be apart of my fitting and see my dress. i spoke to the owner again and he confirmed my appointment for Sunday. I arrived at the place on Sunday June 7th and the door was locked and the lights were off. I called the shops number multiple times with no answer and also called the owners cell number that he listed on his business card. I had to call his cell MULTIPLE times before getting an answer, all while standing on the side walk with my family and my wedding dresses in our hands. When he finally picked up the phone, he explained that he wasn't even in the state! Apparently he was in NY on his way to pick up suits. There was no remorse on his end for completely leaving me high and dry. All he said was "i didnt have an appointment for you. You know, life happens". Absolutely horrible experience. How on earth can you confirm an appointment with someone and then tell them days later that they never had an appointment? Horrible way to run a business. I understand that mistakes happen but he literally had no remorse for the fact that i was standing on the sidewalk with my family and wedding dresses waiting for HIM! My aunts drove over 3 hours to support me at this fitting and I felt absolutely terrible. Needless to say, ill never book anything here or recommend them to anyone

Went here for a prom dress for my daughter. Some of the employees were nicer than others when we…read morefirst went to look. All the employees are very young. One was kind of rude. But my daughter found a dress that she absolutely loved and the dress was beautiful. Alterations were done there and yes it's quite expensive between dress and alterations. When we went back for the dress, they had to do some minor adjustments but that only took 20 minutes.
