July 2025 - Mona's Boutique and Tailoring is the biggest rip-off place I have ever encountered. I…read morebrought my mother of the bride dress there to be altered and hemmed. When I went back, I was not happy with the length, but she hurried me out and said it was perfect. She charged me a total of $730 for alterations and hemming. After trying it on a few times at home I was still not happy with it, I decided to get a second opinion. I brought it to another tailor in Brick, and they told me Mona ruined the dress. It was not until I went to this second tailor did I realize what a terrible job Mona did for a ton of money, $730. This was a $1500 dress. Mona cut the lace when she was not supposed to. The top of the dress was a botched job. Also, Mona did not take it in correctly around the hip area. Basically, the new tailor must totally re-do the dress again from start. I was so upset but the new tailor is going to do their best to fix it for me for a total of $250. When going back to Mona she was very unprofessional and nasty and would not listen to a word I said. She told me the new tailor was going to ruin the dress on me. Mona just yelled and screamed at me and kicked me out. I would never want anyone else to experience this. I was naive and did not know any better and I got screwed. Please be careful and do not go to Mona's Boutiques and Tailoring. Please do your research.

When my daughter tried the dress on and came out of the dressing room Mona looked at the dress on her and said that it was too much material to take in and told her to order a size smaller. She did not care that it was the smallest size possible. If she was truly a seamstress she would have taken in the dress where it was needed but I guess it was too much work for her and she did not want to do it. I will NEVER go back to her shop again.

Prices are not bad either I feel! Have told friends and neighbors about this place. Give him a shot for anything you may need repaired or mended!!

My first experience with Wagner was great, he did a wonderful job taking in a pair of pants. I…read morebrought a second pair of pants back to be hemmed and while the workmanship was very acceptable, his customer service was not. I gave him my ticket (that he had me fill out) and came back with a man's pair of pants. When I told him they were not mine, he didn't believe me but headed in the back to find my pair. After some minutes, he returned with my pants but insisted that the receipt I gave him (with my handwriting on it) was the wrong receipt. We had some discussion that made me feel like it was my fault. He then made me write my name and phone # on the receipt for the man's pants (why?) and wrote the man's name from the other receipt on my receipt which means that man was now going to have my name and phone #! What?! And, the kicker is, he still had all 3 copies of the man's receipt...that man did not receive a receipt when he left the store. Mistakes are made, I get that and am willing to overlook if there's an effort to make it right. Not once did Wagner apologize for his mixup or take ownership of it. When I dropped off my pants, I got the right receipt; he clearly put it on the wrong pair of pants and blamed me. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure if I will go back. IF I do, then I will write out the receipt with a better description of the pants (not just 'hem blue pants') and watch him attach the receipt to my garment.
