This place is a hidden gem. I've eaten in here once before and the had the blackened shrimp and chicken nachos. Really good and the fish tacos were ok. Drinks good as well. Not too sweet. The second time i came to this location, it was quite busy and I don't think there was anywhere to sit. Customer service haha what's that? Ok, first of all, if you plan on coming here, you will have a hard time finding it - trust me. You'll see the sign for it right under "Bubba's" with a "this way arrow" pointing to the direction you need to go, but you'll miss it, I swear. So.... What cha gotta do is Google map "Shellfish Company" and you'll find it no problem. (You're welcome!) Walk around the backside of Shellfish Co and you'll come to a wooden deck with tables and a stunning view of the inlet. I absolutely love the water and watching the boats go to and fro. Anyway... My sister, mom, and I decided to hang out at one of the side wooden counters along the water. It was fairly quiet with only a few other people enjoying the sunshine and perhaps the $2 fish taco Tuesday special offered that day. It was Drink:Thirty PM so that meant I was gonna have a cocktail to match the view. I ordered 4 fish tacos, knowing damn well I won't finish it, and a basket of house chips seasoned with Old Bay. My mom and sister each also ordered the fish tacos and little neck clams and raw oysters for apps. Don't ask me how those were because I didn't taste them as I am not a fan of either. My sister's crab dip and pita was the bomb, though!!! Served warm and creamy - aka perfection! Fish tacos served in warm flour tortillas were pretty decent. I don't normally eat pico de gallo or fresh salsa but I ate it with my tacos so that was a good sign. I really enjoyed the atmosphere during the day and would love to come and see what their Happy Hour and night scene is all about. The waitress was great, stayed busy the whole time but maintained a happy demeanor and kept a smile on her face exchange time I had to speak to her. If you're looking for a casual, fun time with friends to relax or celebrate, this is the place for you. If you want a quiet, intimate evening with your boo or bae, this might not be it. Not sure, either way, it's a great view and you won't be disappointed if you go just before sunset and watch the sun go down with a delish cocktail in your hand. I can't attest for the food, as I was there for Sunday Funday and just drank. It's a pretty small area, but very enjoyable atmosphere. The view of the inlet was spectacular as were the fish tacos! Oh and the mimosas were on point! I met up with a new Yelper bud after watching the Shamrock Marathon and we had a lovely meal. I had mentally prepared for brunch food and was planning to order a nice omelette and bacon, but they actually only offer lunch fare (my fault for not doing any research). It ended up working out just fine as the fish tacos were really good. The fish was fresh, well seasoned and succulent. We shared the crab dip appetizers which was pretty good (still like my mom's better). The mimosa pitchers were our main reason for checking the place out- thanks Ashlea L.! And they definitely delivered here. They're not as big as a normal pitcher, but to me are the perfect size to enjoy one all to yourself. $7 was a good deal too considering they weren't weak. The service was a bit slow (weren't in a rush at all, so NBD) but friendly. I thought the prices on some items- including the crab dip- was a bit on the high side. We wanted seafood and try a different spot so we came here. It was seat yourself which was the first indication that the bar was more important than serving food. I normally always have an all around good time here but today my guacamole didn't come out until after my entree, my crab was still frozen, my shrimp tasted like the ocean, and we had 3 different servers-neither of them were good. We also waited 30 mins for the 3rd different server to come see us for us to ask for our checks. Very disappointed! 2 stars today! Hopefully everything improves for next time!!! The Back Deck became a favorite go to spot after Chick's expanded and became too big. The Back Deck had amazing fish tacos, the Shrimp Salad with cilantro lime dressing is my favorite. And the crowd here is great, nice and chill with fantastic waterfront seating. The inside had a great fish market and gift shop that offers the greatest of gifts that represent the Chesapeake Bay and area. The view was great! Loved the outdoor seating and the view on the water. The food was decent, but I feel like they should have had more side options. With that being said, I was very disappointed with the service. They didn't really seem like they knew what they were doing and it took forever to get our food.
