Came for drinks after having brunch in the area for my birthday. It's been a long time since I have been in the area and just "hanging out". The view by the water is always beautiful. The place is tucked away next to the main building. It wasn't too crowded and the noise level was good too. Got to chat with friends while downing some delicious crushes. They have a lot of drink options and the place is just laid back and chill. Got the pizza and it was good. Not a fan of thin crust usually but it was just enough to eat with the drinks. Other diners ordered the nachos and it looked really good. The bathroom is tricky and you have to go up the stairs into the retail store. There is only one bathroom so be prepared to wait depending on your timing. Will have to make another trip back soon. The servers (2) working the area we sat were attentive and friendly.

Beautiful views! Seating is limited so get there early. Staff was polite, but definitely under staffed and over worked, making the table service lacking. The food and drink menu looked great with a variety of items to choose from. The food itself when it showed up was not great, super disappointing because everything else about this place is great. The tuna sandwich tasted like ammonia cleaner, might have been sitting out too long, and the pizza was flavorless. Although the crab dip was great! So I'd have to say the menu is hit or miss. Give it a shot, worst case you have a nice drink with a great view.

Great place for a drink and sunset. A bit crowded but the vibe is great. Service is good with all of the crowds

July 26, 2024 - Three for dinner. Went for a meal , not to hang and drink, so maybe not a great spot for that. Horrible parking and lot design and layout was ridiculous and dangerous. Cars backing out of little spots and a little craziness. Service was okay, big bar and drinking crowd and very packed......seemed to need a few more servers and bar folks. Food was decent. Fresh and nicely made and presented. Great view and location. I would go back again but maybe not in the later evening or on the weekend.

The vibes were immaculate, and I love that you can bring your dogs here! It's right on the water, which makes for the perfect setting. The service was excellent, fast and attentive, with multiple staff members checking in on us throughout. I'd recommend upgrading to the wood-fired pizza since the regular crust was pretty bad. The crab dip had amazing flavor, though I didn't notice actual crab in it. Overall, a great spot and I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

We absolutely loved the Back Deck. We sat on the deck and watched the boats on the water. The service was outstanding! The food was excellent and fresh. Presentation was great, too.

Came on the weekend just before Sunset and remembered how difficult it was to get a table as it's a first come first serve basis and you just grab a table as someone leaves. Not the best method in my opinion but most people seem to hang out by the bar. Place has a great view for the Sunset and meaty oysters, but I wouldn't suggest for a date. More-so, a casual vibe for a hangout spot.

Awesome place for social drinking! The deck out back is spacious and the workers are very attentive! I didn't try the food but they looked pretty good for simple eats! Highly recommend for drinks and pretty

The food and service was great. Our waitress had multiple tables and still managed to take care of us. We weren't overly taken care of, which was nice so we could talk and eat without interruption. The platter was especially good for the 3 of us. Highly recommend!

Frozen pizza that was supposed to also be wood grilled. But the view is nice.

Looks good right? Bit into a frozen pizza that was supposed to be wood grilled. At least the view was nice.

The crab legs are the best of VB. 10$ for half a pound or 18$ for a full. Fresh and amazing.

Dog friendly! You need to enter on the left side of the bar to bring your dog but they are dog friendly and such a pretty view.

Update (April 2026)…read more Came back on a Sunday around 3PM, and the service did a full 180. We were seated quickly, and our server Erin was on it. Great attitude, attentive, and things actually came out in a timely manner. Love to see it. I ordered a mojito and they did not play in my face. Made it properly with club soda instead of Sprite, so points were definitely earned there. Now... the food? Yeah, we need to talk. We ordered the brunch special, oxtails with biscuits and gravy. First of all, I'm almost positive that was pot roast in an oxtail costume. Let's start there. The biscuits? Giving frozen-from-a-bag, baked a little too long for good measure. But the real villain of the plate was that gravy. Because what do you mean this clearly didn't come from the meat? It tasted like it came straight out of a jar... probably store brand at that. And I'm just confused because gravy is literally one of the easiest things to make if you already cooked the meat. Why are we cutting corners here? So yes, we were seated quickly, treated well, and the drinks were solid. But the food? Absolutely not. If you're coming here hungry and expecting a good meal (which I was), please eat before you arrive. If you're coming for drinks, music, and a good vibe, then you'll have a great time.

We also tried the Parmesan fries, asparagus, crab dip, crab cake, crème Brulee, key lime pie, and a salad. Every dish was well‑seasoned, fresh, balanced, and delicious. Nothing tasted overly fishy or heavy, which can be tricky with seafood, but everything was prepared perfectly. The atmosphere made the meal even better. The view from the restaurant is absolutely spectacular, one of those settings that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Kevin's service tied everything together. He was attentive in a way that felt completely natural, checking in on us consistently without hovering. He kept our drinks flowing, stayed professional and personable, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. His energy elevated both visits and made the whole experience memorable. Unfortunately, the food was just mid for us. Most of the dishes we ordered came out overly salty, which took away from the experience. We also found the pricing a bit expensive for the portion sizes and overall taste. On a positive note, the service was pretty good. The staff were attentive and accommodating throughout our visit. Overall, while the view and service were enjoyable, I'm not sure if this is a place we'd come back to try again.

I made two visits to Bucketheads recently…read more First visit was in stage 3 of reopening, and honestly I was horrified by the number of drunk young people crowding into the space without masks, but I was completely starving, it was late, and everyone else locally that I wanted to go to seemed to be closed at 8P, so I said "eff it". At least the servers were wearing masks? We ordered wings and the burger special, and both were amazing...then we got the hell out of dodge. Second visit was about a week or two later, after Gov Northam had mandated the in-house sale of alcohol was to end at 10P and restaurants to close at 12a. We had just returned from the Eastern Shore at about 10:30P, and once again we were starving. Expecting more of the same tomfoolery, we walked into Bucketheads and found a completely different situ...ghost town. Drunk young people crowding into our personal spaces were nowhere to be found. We sat at a bar high top, ordered our hot wings (which were super good yet again), drank our ice waters like the understanding, compliant customers we were (even through we could've used a nice cold one after a day of driving), and went on our happy way. Takeaways: they seem to have gotten their act together in the time of COVID, and damn, their food is good. There is plenty of outdoor seating available if that helps make you more comfortable dining out right now. Highly recommend their hot wings along with the plethora of innovative sauces!

I waited around 10 minutes and walked around looking for anyone and nothing. It was hot as hell out and not happy. Went back to my car with AC and gave a few more minutes. Still nothing and left. I debated on whether to write and decided to. All they had to do was turn the light off. Others were coming and going with no one to service. The food truck has been operating a few months and I've seen business. The restaurant will be reopening next month after a fire closed them down more than a year ago. It's taken them much longer than necessary in my opinion to come back after hiring gypsy labor. They have had reported issues for months with city permits. On a side note a gypsy workers truck caught fire in the parking lot yesterday. Hopefully I can update after the reopening, but I'm not rushing.
